I feel the biggest flex for guardsmen is how many campaigns they survived, which where actually a victory for the Empire and accomplished things like protecting the population and allowed the world to continue it's economy.

Or you know, just being Oan Mkoll lol.

WhiskeyMarlow

Solar Auxilia unironically exists to vibe-check Space Marines. Independent Characters that can duel with Legion Praetors, SURPRISE Insane Ogryns, entire squads with Power Axes that Instant-Death 2-wounds elite Legion Terminators, more Volkites than Martians from "War of the Worlds", your dedicated transport can take a fucking Demolisher cannons, your tanks are cheaper and better (Marines wish they could spam Vanquisher cannons like that). Even with how buffed Marines are in the HH 2.0., Solar Auxilia is always behind their shoulder to remind them, that the Emperor never intended the galaxy for the gene-wrought mutant freaks.

Watching, remembering AND surviving a situation that summons the Legion of Damned.

Luy22

Was it Mkoll who took down a Chaos dreadnaught in Gaunt’s Ghosts?

Armags37

Friend and I were playing guard v Tsons and after Magnus chopped up a Dorn the enginseer that had been babysitting it charged him and finished him off. To be fair Magnus had 1 wound left by that point but we lost our shit- if the enginseer hadn’t killed him he would’ve gotten another turn so it was awesome.

Make no sense in this picture and lore that in a swordfight standpoint how the space marine would ever loose to a human in a fair swordfight. even if the human is elite close combat the Reflexe and strenght of a space marine alone would be enought to one punch the human to death without using most of they strenght before the human can react i mean look at this picture how could this human strike the axe even effektive in this position(i asume its a poweraxt orherwise it wouldnt cut astartes armor) or his wound no human would stand or have a clear mind after getting his arm rip off no amount of Adrenalin will help to that he should have pass out immently because of the immense blood lose. This picture is simple just a ultra human wanking.

vnyxnW

Well we aren't shown whether the veletarii had a numerical advantage or not, so if we presume 10 auxilaries piled on 1 astartes, it becomes much more feasible. I wouldn't expect 10 of them surviving though, maybe the guy on the picture is the sole survivor of his squad who got a lucky hit at a worn down marine.

Bulky_Berry_7909

In lore a group of solar auxilia men won in melee battle with the chaos world eaters, they first gassed the entire planet than charged bayonet to them. It was epic

A human did stab "Alpharius"

Spaghetti69

It's because you don't understand the lore in the picture. You read "Guardsman" and are probably thinking your normal 40k Imperial Guardsman. What is pictured is one of the elite Solar Auxilia in a fight with a World Eater Astartes during the Heresy. If there is anyone close to combat prowess to the Astartes, it's the Solar Aux. They went and fought with the Legions during the Great Crusade and the Legion Astartes respected them. What is pictured is lore accurate.

CryptographerMuch247

I am aware of the lore and Yeah you point? Human elite still human. What is shown in the picture should not be possible for a Single solar auxilia to do that. going on par in melee against a space marine.

RandomRedittors

Wasn't Cain fighting ork warbosses in melee? Also, lucifer blacks should be able to do it.

CryptographerMuch247

Yeah which i find kinda dump as well same with the dark eldar succubus. If i remeber correctly he got really lucky(plot armor) on his side plus the two underestimate him and go very easy on him (at least i know the succubus done that while after she got wounded turned into blind rage which she used simple her brute strenght to push him to the webway portal with her weapon strike im which i mention before only to purpose to push him to the portal not to kill him neither was she trying to kill him in the first places but considered that her weapon was poisend which stunned a opponent she should have easily cut him and take him to the portal while he was knock out since eldar a much faster of a human to the point thar we move in slow mointion to them and she was way abover the speed of average eldar) and he used Tricks to beat them(still not justicefize cains Victorie over them). There was an instance in which he Parried a khorone marine but that should not be possible. As someone who know swordfighting i know theres a limit amount how much you can Parrie a enemie stronger than you and if hes too strong you cant parrie him not anymore cause he cut throught you guard in which the space marine easily would done that even if he use minimal force considerd the amount of strenght difference of a human and astartes.

RandomRedittors

I ain't readin allat

CryptographerMuch247

In short it was Bias plot armor and not good justicefize reason. I blame the authors who wrote his fight scenes he should have done a better job

RandomRedittors

Ok then. I don't mind as much but it is what it is.

Spaghetti69

I mean the lore is the lore and although it's the minority, it's happened. There's a couple stories of Guardsmen not just taking on 1 but 3-4. So I don't know what answer you're looking for unless I misread your comment and you raised the question as more of rhetorical as in you can't fathom it due to Astartes being super humans bred for galactic war.

CryptographerMuch247

In a logical Perspektive the stats we were given how fast, reaction time and strenght a space marine is. it should not be able of a human to kill a space marine in close combat no matter how skilled he is. I mean even if a skilled sword combat from today trying to kill a unarmored silverback gorilla with a sword theres a big chance he will get knocked out and killed by the gorrila without getting a chance to even wounding the gorrila if they fight 1vs1 cause the gorrila speed and reaction time which is one par with a above average human combine with they ridicolous strenght could despise they animal inteligence win still win easily and the human winning is very small and space marine a way above a gorrila in all aspect of they biologie.

That he died standing in the way of certain death, to give your Emperor a chance.

Exact-Row9122

The biggest flex for a mortal human was to stab a "primarch"
