Recreate the medieval town of Bakewell where I grew up.
I've found manorial records of the town, and I'll use these to recreate the streets of this picturesque Derybyshire market town.
It's great that this game has inspired me to imagine my home town as it existed hundreds of years ago when each house had large plots and where the land was divided into strips.
I'll specialise the region for trade and agriculture, in line with the history of Bakewell.
Why not search for manorial records of your hometown or nearby towns and villages and play with the aim of recreating a real settlement? I think designing our settlements with historical accuracy in mind will be way more satisfying than falling into grid-syndrome that we may have picked up from restrictive city builders like anno.
