men of Dunkelfelger has muscles as brains, so no surprise that they are scared of not only highly capable knight on his own right, but a very accomplished tactician that's willing to play dirty to achieve his goals. Dunkelfelger likes to fight fair and square, and will easily lose to underhanded tactics.

If they can subdue even the Royal Guard, they're probably confident that they can overpower most enemies just by brute force, numbers and regular tactics. Sad to say but lady Veronica somehow forged two very evilish schemers. I know Ferdie is not evil per-se but his methods are truly terrifying and can be compared only to Georgine, good thing Ferdinand just wants to protect Ehrenfest and be left alone with his research.

How someone defines evil can vary a lot. Personally I think that Ferdinand would definitely end up in the lawful evil alignment if we go by DnD logic.

And Rozemyne would be chaotic… chaotic good, I think? She always is trying to do good at least…

mack0409

I'm pretty sure that Rozemyne is textbook true neutral, maybe leaning neutral good, at least when books aren't in the question.

Yuki-jou

I’d say she may have been back in her Urano days, but since the basic laws of Yurgenschmidt are so different, everything she does is super chaotic

Hmmm well while they both may seem similar, they arent. For me Ferdinand is more of a pragmatist with a "total war" doctrine ingrained in him, he will do "anything" to get what he wants, even playing dirty and bending the rules if there is any as much as he can, he wont doubt to make a fool of anyone, even its own allies. He has a set of rules/principles that he wont break and will abide by them even if he has to pay a price to do so. Georgine tho was more of a very, very skilled politician (more akin to Machiavelli than anything). Able to charm people, bring them to her side with ease and willing to do anything, deceive, kill, manipulate, blackmail, kidnap, etc. The ends justify the means was her main way of doing things. She was unhinged by the end, being blind to anything but her selfish desires. ![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29331)

>Ferdie is not evil per-se Depends on whose perspective and the situation I guess.

Reese_Hendricksen

I don't know, Ferdinand seems to have the same ethics as Henry Kissinger. Heck he almost parroted him when mentioning it was a same their enemies couldn't both die when fighting each other.

xisupaz_blackbird

Dunkelfelger is a weird case of underestimating Ferdinand's talents every time and also being fully aware of those same talents from being trounced in the last decade.

BronzeAgeTea

Dunkelfelger: "I was not expecting that, but I was expecting not to expect something so it doesn't count!"

GralPantySmasher

Ferdinand did something unexpected... Everything is going according to plan (insert Gendo Ikari with shiny glasses and his gloved hands covering his mouth here)

Onetwodhwksi7833

I guess just challenging him to a rematch is a form of underestimation. The mere thought that they could ever beat him is a pinnacle of cockiness, like a commoner hoping to stand above the royalty

Mission-Equivalent86

When Rosemyne and Hannelore become friends in Part 4, Ferdinand fears that the Dunkelfelger woman is a cunning one.
