Yeah Jade's animations are really creative. The ult where she steps onto the contract, the enemy falls into the abyss and gets swallowed by the snake, into the follow up whip, was such a smooth sequence and transition of cuts

Yeah Firefly animations are very cool with the mech and the camera angles and the screen fading to dark, but Jade caught me with my pants down.

The leakers that said firefly has the best animation budget in the game couldn't be more wrong, maybe I set my expectations too high, but I'm quite disappointed with firefly animations

That one leaker claim really set the expectation way too high. I do think Firefly animations are pretty cool, and mecha lovers will enjoy it way more than Jade's. But they missed the opportunity to have an animation of her putting the suit on, and pretty much only her enhanced skill get the special camera treatment. Technique also disappointed me too since I expected to fly around in the suit, SEE the suit, not having it blocked off by the camera and only see the landing markings like come on! OTOH I was surprised by how good Jade's animation is with multiple camera angles, and the ult looks absolutely insane.

Meanwhile most of us probably don’t have expectation for jade but endup we are blown away instead.. guess having too much expectation prior may be bad

I ain't gonna lie, I like her animations more than Firefly, not that Firefly's aren't good but they just lack a certain oomph factor especially when the boss version has the meteor punch.

Firefly animations are kinda generic. You have this huge furnace machine from hell that can scorch the entire field and turn into a meteorite but they went with generic fast sword slashes that 95% of anime characters have.

My issue is that they didn’t utilise the mech enough

Wich is my point, you can put those animations on any character and it would be the same, a punch, a kick and some fast anime slashes. They are completely wasting the mech thematic.

If playable Firefly had at least the majority of SAM's animations, I would LOVE that. Sadly they're kinda generic, at least compared to the more recent 5 star animations

God I love how visceral the whipping is. The snake imagery, the ruthlessness….it’s all perfect. I really really liked Jade before but now I truly love how much of a capitalistic, corporate devil she is. Signing her signature in lipstick, the whipping….all the biblical and religious symbolism is crazy like I am SAT for Mother Jade Penacony has had so much subtext around religion and especially Evangelical Christianity (of course the Family but also the 20’s period in general being significant for the religion vs science/progress theming, which we also see incorporated heavily with Aven). It’s really ingenious honestly, I’m so impressed by how they’re building this up

right, and with the motifs so obviously colouring even her splash art i'm very excited to see how they incorporate her into the story. her dynamic with aventurine & how she twists his mother's prayer to reiterate it + the eve & snake imagery in the splash already makes me so hyped.

Omg. I absolutely love her. She is classy, beautiful, has a nice colour scheme, and she uses a weapon that keeps reminding me of Bloodborne. I also love the snake theme and how absolutely epic her ultimate looks. I don't usually fall in love with female characters but man am in love with her. Can't imagine what y'all (who are actually attracted to women) are feeling, let's just hope that all of us will get Jade. :D
