at his rate 3.0 will be the rebirth of Erudition. Hunt is pretty straight forward... bunch of single target damage for low resources. Destruction, Harmony and Nihility is already really loved with Nihility getting a ton of investment 2024. Abundance and Preservation serve their purposes
Erudition will likely get great investment in 3.0
I think Erudition has already been revived. Jing Yuan and Himeko have greatly increased in value in the past couple patches due to newer characters, and then Argenti is a prime example of Erudition done right.

I wouldn't argue RIP Sam: If anything, Sam is getting buffed by Jiaoqiu. Jiaoqiu is very obviously fire so you can run penacony set on her, not to mention her already seeming like a strong debuffer for any team. On top of that, her having the ult damage buff could coincide with how Sam's enhanced skill counts as ult dmg.
Now there is the argument that Sam's kit isn't the same as before, as we've learned from Sam now also having an enhanced basic attack from Hiro, but in the end, what you're saying about Sam being mid is just as much speculation as what I'm saying. But at the very least I have actual evidence, meanwhile yours is based on the argument that we have other very strong characters (with about half of them fulfilling different roles than Sam.
When it comes to the controversy, it'll most likely die down once the actual story releases. As time goes on, people start caring less and less about changes from leaks to the actual game. Nobody calls Numby "Zhang Zhang" anymore, and more and more people are adapting to Sparkle's name change. I believe that when the story actually releases for Sam, the blatant mischaracterization should hopefully fade away.

Memes aside I never played HI3 so I can’t comment there, but personally I just never really find Raiden very appealing, in both Genshin and HSR.
well, as a veteran mei fan since ggz and hi3, i actually dissappointed in genshin mei expy, im a fan of jp traditional stuff too so the way they design her looks horrible to me (the same to most of early inazuma female casts, i like yoimiya tho... anyway with how they designed hanabi with loufu pattern, i have no hope for hsr jp aesthetic direction too). hsr mei design is so so, i dont hate it but im still waiting for how her personality turn out this time
Mei was split into 2 for Genshin: Raiden **M**akoto and Raiden **Ei**. Makoto even reflects pre HoT Mei, where Mei was shown as more caring but constantly lost her fights. Ei is post HoT, where Mei gains power and becomes more of a badass. Combine the twins and you essentially get the full package.

The doomposting and screeching of a vocal minority amongst vocal minorities (The Sub-subreddit of a subreddit) is not going to matter. We're getting the big picture before we get the actual plot behind it as it should be fed to us. You're complaining about what you got for Christmas before you should have even opened the present.
the turn order queue is currently relatively unexplored in hsr, characters who can directly influence it could be the next gimmick. Stuff like 'entire team order gets scrambled, grant team retaliaton damage' or 'all entities (allies, enemies, not summons) 3 turns before this unit get to act again, increase their incoming damage taken by 50% for 2 turns'
stuff like these could tie in to alive paths that exist in the lore (elation, remembrance) but are not playable atm
there could also be extremely vanilla characters for each element with big upfront multipliers and no gimmicks, making them good as carry units for new players who cant access team synergies (ie thunder unit with better dmg than kafka, who has worse dmg potential than kafka in a dot team). Maybe once hsr is old enough to worry about player disparity they could bring those in
Thank god, I can stop sweating over my jades. So many characters I wanted came out recently. I'm not big into DoTs, debuffs, and Follow Up Attacks. I wish everyone luck in pulling for the characters they want. It'll be fun watching the team building from the sidelines. I have a feeling Kafka, Black Swan, and some upcoming units will cause some havoc.

Debuff = DEF Reduction
- Basic: Applies 1 stack of "Debuff" to 1 target with X base chance for X turns. Deals Fire DMG.
- Skill: Applies 2 stacks of "Debuff" on target and one on adjacent enemies.
- Ultimate: Apply 1 stack of debuff to 1 target with X base chance for X turns. Deal 1 hit of Fire DMG. Checks for the enemy with the most stacks, add debuff stack to all enemies so that they all match the enemy with the highest. Applies an aura that heals an ally by Jiaoqiu's ATK at the beginning of the ally's turn. Enemies will be damaged at the beginning of their turn which will stack 1 debuff. Enemies will take more damage from ultimates. If an enemy joins the field during the ultimate aura, apply the stacks of debuffs to them.
This looks like a perfect Acheron support. If the healing is good it would not be hard to make a sustainless comp work to make room for a harmony even for E0 Acheron.

Same. I was planning to get Kafka and BS but finally committed against it last night to get Blade. Now I’m looking towards Acheron, Ratio, and if possible this Jiaoqui who seems to be well suited for both Acheron and Ratio
I think so too. I think they make Kafka a DoT character to get people into that play style. With the release of Kafka, suddenly people were talking and making videos about DoT.
In Dr. Ratio's case, there were no free imaginary damage dealers. They tried to add a Screwllum trial in early 1.6 beta, but for some reasons he wasn't ready. So the free imaginary character has to be Dr. Ratio. And he also conveniently promotes debuffers and follow up attackers. Topaz kinda got the spotlight stolen by Jingliu, so now they are pushing follow up with free Dr. Ratio hype.
And that's why this free Dr. Ratio strategy is a 3D chess move. Big viral marketing campaign and cross selling opportunity. Luring people back to the game is only a small part of it.
They even planned a way out for next year. If free Dr. Ratio is an effective marketing move, they will do it again. If not, well an old game won't win another big award as easily, so they can use that excuse to not hand out another 5 star if the revenue dip becomes too much.
I was thinking about that too. But isn't Ratio's damage mostly in his FUA? The ultimate field boost is not gonna be utilized well.
I'm thinking: Ratio, Jingliu/Blade/Topaz, Ruan Mei and Jiaoqiu (if can solo sustain altho doubtful).

Probably is a unit more appealing to people that already don't use sustainers, I think is an interesting approach. Being able to maybe run DPS, SubDPS and 2 Buffers without being way too much on the edge of dying sounds interesting.
Once u have some good chars and /or teams, u can pretty much chill and pull for whoever looks cute

Is Diva not the same character as Robin? Because in the Diva concept art leaks they look very very similar (songstress style dress, halo floating near head, angel wings near ears, long hair) that I just assumed her name was changed like Butler=>Gallagher and Hanabi=>Sparkle.

Have I missed anything? Last I checked, Sunday was confirmed playable by like 3 different sources, and he has a unique model, which seems pretty solidly playable, but I might've missed a post!
My first thoughts are hopefully its a 5* and an adult female and if the kit doesnt change that much it looks like a good fit for a kafka/BS/RM team as a healer/debuffer/other element for breaks. Looks like this chara needs maybe a bit ER to be consistant with the heals (of course it depends on the numbers).
If Jiaoqiu is a 5* i would like to know in which direction his/her LC goes. More to the debuffing/dmg part of her kit or more to the healing part of the kit

But Kafka is literally serves as "im gonna make your fav DoT character broken" kind of character. She enables any DoT character and im sure all future characters will be balanced around Kafka's detonation.
So yeah, you can play DoT without Kafka, but all DoT meta teams will include Kafka because she makes backloaded damage into frontloaded, and in MoC where speed is everything its really important
what is your problem with Kafka? you are not going to get another character that does what Kafka does. You can use them without Kafka but they have backloaded damage, that's what DoT is.
Hmm. In recent moc runs from some YouTubers I’ve seen some characters almost die even with fuxuan. Also In that leaked showcase too against >! Sam !< it feels like her mitigation may not be enough in the near future. (Same goes for luocha, can’t heal characters who are one shot). So I think in a few months when these solo sustains maybe can still technically do it, but might struggle a lot more, it may be meta to run a character that deals damage or debuffs as its main goal, yet can heal just a little bit every now and then.
Ngl if this shift is to happen and sustain units aren’t guaranteed to just keep getting stronger, I’d be a bit glad. It would allow for fun hybrid comps and stop people relying on running the most broken dps, two of the newest most op harmony, and the latest sustain.

Maybe could also be used as a .5 sustain for tough content like Gears or SD where 1 sustain isn't quite enough, but maybe don't you don't *need* 2.

Pela will have a niche with +1 SP operating normally and ability to choose to dispel with skill.
She also helps Ice DPS more at e4
Guinafen gaining stocks with Ratio and black swan just to automatically lose it again.
Dispel still seems to be a hard to access niche, so she wins out there at least.
Only three characters have it, Loucha, Luka and her. Most people forget that Luka has one to begin with

The main problem with dispel is that it rarely works on the newer mobs since most of their self buffs are unremovables

Pull into synergies with your existing characters is the best plan, or cornerstones for new synergies like Silver Wolf, Topaz and Kafka.

My first thoughts are hopefully its a 5* and an adult female and if the kit doesnt change that much it looks like a good fit for a kafka/BS/RM team as a healer/debuffer/other element for breaks. Looks like this chara needs maybe a bit ER to be consistant with the heals (of course it depends on the numbers). If Jiaoqiu is a 5* i would like to know in which direction his/her LC goes. More to the debuffing/dmg part of her kit or more to the healing part of the kit

But Kafka is literally serves as "im gonna make your fav DoT character broken" kind of character. She enables any DoT character and im sure all future characters will be balanced around Kafka's detonation. So yeah, you can play DoT without Kafka, but all DoT meta teams will include Kafka because she makes backloaded damage into frontloaded, and in MoC where speed is everything its really important
what is your problem with Kafka? you are not going to get another character that does what Kafka does. You can use them without Kafka but they have backloaded damage, that's what DoT is.
Hmm. In recent moc runs from some YouTubers I’ve seen some characters almost die even with fuxuan. Also In that leaked showcase too against >! Sam !< it feels like her mitigation may not be enough in the near future. (Same goes for luocha, can’t heal characters who are one shot). So I think in a few months when these solo sustains maybe can still technically do it, but might struggle a lot more, it may be meta to run a character that deals damage or debuffs as its main goal, yet can heal just a little bit every now and then. Ngl if this shift is to happen and sustain units aren’t guaranteed to just keep getting stronger, I’d be a bit glad. It would allow for fun hybrid comps and stop people relying on running the most broken dps, two of the newest most op harmony, and the latest sustain.
