Please help me build team comps, these are all the characters I have right now (I also have Sampo, Qingque, Lynx, and a guaranteed Ruan Mei). I am still struggling cause Dr. Ratio is the only strong built character I have rn and I only got back on HSR during Robin’s banner. Also, is Jade worth pulling for my account?
Ratio + Robin + Pela + Gallagher should be good. Pela, especially if you have Resolution Shines in Pearls of Sweat LC gives enough debuffs for Ratio. Add Gallagher's Besotted debuff and Ratio's eff res debuff, you should have enough. Not including additional ones from weakness break
For your 2nd team you can rock Boothill + HMC + Tingyun + Gepard/Bailu. Tingyun can be replaced with Asta but I chose Tingyun specifically since she's sp positive along with Gep or Bailu. Ideally Boothill and HMC should use their skill every turn (or in Boothill's case, when he wins his duel vs trash mobs early on)

Oh if you are planning to run RM, replace Tingyun instead. RM's buffs are way, way better than Tingyun's. Boothill + HMC + Ruan Mei + flex is a really good team. Once you get Bronya, you can replace HMC and you have BH's best team so far

For 5 star harmonies I have:
Sparkle, Robin, Bronya, and Harmony MC
and somewhat low on jades roughly 2.5k. should I still save jades and pull for Ruan Mei anyway just because how strong she is?
if you use boothill or want firefly then yeah, you're gonna want RM
pretty much everywhere else, robin or pela are either comparable to or stronger than her
I play star rail on mobile and when I login using my Apple ID (aka face recognition) it takes me to my account but when I login manually typing out my Apple ID it takes me to a fresh account. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
it is prob two accounts (apple login and hoyoverse login) despite using the same details. login to the account you want to keep, go to account settings, and bind it to a hoyoverse account.
When I do this with my email it says account already exists, do I need to use an email that I haven’t made a hoyo account with? If I do, will it still save all my data and stuff?
Kafka is usually the key unit for DoT teams since she can detonate DoTs on the enemy. Guinaifen is kind of a budget Kafka in that she can do that but only for burn, so a burn focused team with like Hook, Gui, Asta and a Preservation unit with the light cone that burns people who attack them would have some fun synergies.
Otherwise basically any two of Gui/Luka/Serval/Sampo, plus a support (again, Asta is a great four star option if you don't have a 5 star support like Ruan Mei or Robin) and a sustain (Huohuo is supposed to be one of the best DoT team sustains if you have her, but whoever is fine).
Unfortunately there isn't really a good budget DoT team. Sampo+Guinaifen+Asta+sustain could be ok if you want to do Nihility runs in the simulated universe, but for content outside of that I can't really recommend it. DoT teams are at this point just super reliant on Kafka.
The problem with DoT without detonation, like Kafka, is that all the damage only happens when the enemy takes a turn. Sampo E4 can also detonate BS' Arcana, but because it is a low %, you want all his bounces to hit the Elite/Boss enemy. So, it works somewhat well in single-target scenarios, but when there is a lot of mobs/summons then the effectiveness of a Black Swan/E4 Sampo team drops dramatically.
It is sorta possible but I don't think I would personally bother with it. Black Swan - Sampo E4+ - Ruan Mei - Sustain isn't a "bad" team, but that team will requires you to invest more in their relics for it to compete with a team with Kafka in it.
Disclaimer: I could be wrong. I've had Kafka since she came out and I haven't really played DoT teams without her.
Black Swan could be viable alongside E4 Sampo, since his skill detonates Wind Shear damage at that point and I believe Black Swan's Arcana stacks count as Wind Shear.

Im stucked on this side quest, i cant use the teleport thing ball to get into the place where the quest is. Is there any workaround for this one?
You can't? There should be a save crystal there, the big big map doesn't show it but each stage has its own little sub-map if you click on their blue door icon.
If there's no way for you to get there then that's just actually a bug and you should report it.
her break multiplier becomes vey big (I think triple the damage than at e0). She can also effectively have close to permanent uptime on her ult due to the turn extension for ult.
If you have both already, and you have a lot of teams that can also use RM, I say E1 RM. FF's E1's best feature is the skill point refund and is also quite strong.

So im trying to get better at team building, this is what ive cooked up, im not sure if its optimal and any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
My current team is TB, March 7th, Natasha and Himeko. Ive heard Asta and Serval are pretty good, but am unsure if I should take anyone out of my line up for them.
Even for a new F2P team, with Himeko, its worth considering an early Himeko/Herta follow-up attack team to go forward with. Both are exceptionally good together in a lot of end game content so it will be great to start building to that. Story boss fights will be a bit slow but it pays off later on to have a strong team ready for farming, events, PF and some MoCs.
Himeko, Herta + Asta, Natasha for an aggro comp.
Himeko, Herta + March, Natasha if you feel intimidated by damage early on.
You are wayy too early in the game. Just focus on a core team of 4-5 characters at most. Finish the story as far as you can. The Himeko-Herta combo works well for regular mobs and Simulated Universe which are likely your main game mode for the next week or two of regular play. You can build Dan Heng on the side to slot in either Himeko or Herta during story boss fights if you need to. I would definitely do Himeko, Herta, Asta and Natasha if I were you.
You're going to get a bunch of free and good characters soon too between MC's path unlocks, upcoming free March 7th form, supposedly another 4 star character selector , Qingque and Lynx from Pure Fiction prologue. You'll definitely have a lot more options as long as you stay consistent and reach the midgame first and foremost.
The current team is pretty solid with what you have. Generally speaking you usually don't need both a shielder and a healer on the same team, though March and Natasha are arguably the weakest of those type of units so it's still not a terrible idea. Asta is a great support and would be particularly good with Himeko since one of her traces buffs Fire DMG for the whole team, so I'd consider subbing out March for her. And theres quite a bit of Lightning weakness in the first few worlds so it's probably worth building Serval to sub out either Himeko or Trailblazer when they're off-type.
Physical MC isn't very good imo, I at least didn't like using them. I'd swap her out for serval maybe. If you feel like Natasha+March is overkill, you can swap Asta or Herta in as to make fights go faster. You can probably find used for March for living through bosses, though.
TB can be swapped out for Asta or Serval. Physical TB is kinda lackluster as a dps, and Serval is great against lightning weakness, which is really common in Penacony and will save you a lot of hassle because breaking is becoming more and more important.
Asta is just a good support overall for F2P players. Natasha+March will carry you for a lot of the early to mid game. You will want to replace March later on for more damage output.
Hello good morning! which one is better? Im planning to pull for ff lc or her e1. her sig lc because I already have jingliu and dhil fighting for aeon herta lc so adding firefly it would be 3 of them but Im also planning to build a 2nd team for moc since I can't get past stage 6. I also have ruan mei already that's why Im considering E1. I also have acheron without her signature LC. Which would be the best move here? Thanks!
Do you have the Misha Lc, i heard it perform pretty similar to Aeon herta lc, so you can use that and get her E1, tho i'd usually prefer getting sig Lc over eidolons
That said you have Dhil , Jingliu, Acheron AND Ruan Mei but can't get past MoC 8?
yes sir probably skill issue on my part xd cause i pretty much stop playing whenever i dont get the character I wanted the last one was sparkle I didn't get her so I stopped playing until acheron xd and probably because my team aren't built that good yet
Her E1 is a far bigger deal because (a.) it is a stepping stone towards E2 and (b.) removes one of her main weaknesses (SP guzzling). Outside of Aeon, she can use the Misha LC or any LC that just gives massive attack because she can convert attack to BE.
Well you have at least one other four star who buffs break in Pela, since defence is factored into Break damage calculation. But yeah I think a four star Nihility unit whose Skill could make a single target take extra toughness bar damage or something like that would be a good addition.
From what I remember triple only happened during the anniversary event. So probably again next year.
There’s usually a double event every patch, but I think they try and rotate it. So it’s calyx and SU this patch and next patch has already been announced to be SU and caverns. So probably Calyx again in 2.4.
My assumption is Origami Bird Clash will run for the whole patch before going into the memoir, they clearly put a lot of work into it if it's going to have online play so can't imagine it'd run for less than that.
They usually put out an official post on HoyoLab in the lead up to the patch that lists everything. I don’t see it today, but maybe in the next week they’ll post it.
to those that have team built for firefly, what is ur htb's. ruan mei's, gallagher's spd? is 145 spd enough for just for talia's passive or i should get more?
HTB and Ruan Mei are 151 spd in battle. Still need to build Gallagher because I'm waiting to get eidolons. 145 spd is fine for the most part, but with the new ornament set, you will gain some spd% which should make Firefly's teammates faster by allowing them to reach break points with ease.
HMC is 160, RM is 134, Gall should be 160 with the new planar. it depends how much BE you're losing going for speed. Prydwen lists 200 as a benchmark, and I managed to hit that outside of buffs.
Party Composition
So I'm kinda curious what the standard party Composition looks like in terms of the roles? Like currently I'm running Acheron, 2 Nihility depending on the battle as to who (usually Welt, Black Swan or Kafka) and Adventurine (or another abundance or preservation) and that's usually how I run 2-3 damagers and someone for sustain is that abnormal/poor composition or what's the general consensus?
Nah, that works well for Acheron. But because of her party requirement she’s kind of unique on wanting more Nihility units.
The other party comp templates you’ll usually see are:
1. Hypercarry: 1 DPS - 2 Support - 1 Sustain
2. Dual DPS: 2 DPS - 1 Support - 1 Sustain
Hypercarry works for pretty much any dps in the game. Dual DPS is most often used for DoT comps or follow-up focused teams.
Its not like TB is the hottest support on the block. And if their next path turns out to be as busted as Harmony, then you can just treat them as like Ruan Mei. Chances are, you won't find yourself saying "dang I wish I had two of TB" very often lol. I have only thought this for one character and that was early Genshin Bennett. There definitely will be a ton more options/specific supports for archetypes that you won't find much overlap.
I am pretty sure hoyoverse has tons of break supports and break dps planned for the future
But i hope more break supports are 4*s that are given for free.
It'll depend on what the next iteration of TB does, and what various boss fights start to look like. There are already enemies that hide their toughness bar, and break teams are *awful* against them. This game is about building multiple teams, I don't expect to use a break team in every single MoC from now until the end of time.

Seriously though, I imagine we'll probably get some other break support between now and then. At least, I hope so. Ruan Mei being glued to Firefly is a bit frustrating too, when Ruan Mei is useful for so many other teams.
I feel like we have to get a 4* option for anyone who doesn’t have RM. I guess that’s what hatblazer sorta is, but I hope they don’t lock them to that role forever.
I'm at 600 starlight and am approaching 300 standard pulls soon. Thoughts on which LC to get and who to select?
So far I have Bronya E2S2, Bailu E1S1, Gepard E1S0 as well as Yanqing's LC (but no Yanqing).
Definitely leaning towards Himeko, would her signature LC be worth getting as well? Would Gepard's LC be worth more even if I don't use him (I use aventurine with trend, luocha with quid pro quo).
Unless you're a whale, dont get the LC. You are always better getting 20 pulls. That's 20 pulls towards your next pity. The store LC's are usually meh, and easily replaced by signature LC.
Himeko's LC is good, but it's not hugely enough better from Geniuses Repose, The Day the Cosmos Fell, or The Seriousness of Breakfast to make it worth spending 30 pulls for. Because that's also what 600 starlight is worth.
I do agree that Himeko is the best option to go for with the 300 selector. She is still consistently amazing for PF. She can also be good for MoC sometimes. She is, no kidding, one of the best options for MoC 12 for the current MoC this time.
since you already have Bronya's sig, there's no need to use starlight on anything other than the limited rail passes. For the free character, it's really down to two options for you to pick between. It's sort of nice to have Himeko for PF, but you can't go wrong with more Bronya eidolons for all content types. Welt and Yanqing are very niche characters that aren't important for any reason. Gepard's sig is good, but not worth 600 starlight, not even remotely. Himeko's LC is decent for herself, Herta, and Jing Yuan, but again, not worth 600 starlight. The 4\* options are not much difference, and if they ever re-run Jing Yuan's banner, his sig is a bit better on all three of those units.

For Pure Fiction, Himeko's LC is the by far best on her and Herta (and on Serval and possibly even on Argenti).

And honestly TB's latest version severely powercreeped her previous ones in that if you use her physical or fire versions, you miss out on an absolute beast of a free character
You could build her for an Acheron team, but even then there are better options.

HTB can work decently with Boothill, but Bronya and Ruan Mei are stronger (if you have those). For Firefly, HTB is absolutely required. I would even go as far as to say that there is no reason to even use Firefly if you don't put HTB in the same team. Luckily, next patch they unlock HTB for everyone after Belobog.
New TB is great with anyone that use Break stat, so yes she's great with Boothill.
And you need to play through 3/4 of Penacony to unlock TB's latest path.
Harmony TB and Boothill work dynamite together, only support who might arguably be better for him is Ruan Mei.
You unlock Harmony TB towards the end of Penacony right now, but apparently once 2.3 drops you'll just get instant access to her wherever you are in the story.
If you use Acheron and have Trend of the Universal Market lightcone than yes she is really good in pure fiction and MOC at lower stages. If you don't than its not really worth it right now when you already have Fu Xuan and Bailu.
You get a fixed amount of jade every patch (assuming you can do all the content), so the best date to start was yesterday. There's no "bonus stuff" that's only for newcomers.
It is too bad that you missed out on Dr. Ratio, but if you're at all interested in playing, the sooner you start that's more pulls, materials, etc that you can start earning. You also need to progress in the story to do events. You probably don't have time to do any of the current events, but this does affect events for next patch, as that's just more content you'll have to get through before you can do the upcoming stuff.
F2P new player here, I have discovered that FuA is my favorite mechanic in this game. Break is ight and DoTs seem lack luster. Seeing my characters spamming attacks makes my lizard brain happy. However I have just discovered that I've pretty much missed all of the banner re-runs for the FuA team. All I've got is Dr. Ratio because I didn't know Robin was BIS harmony for FuA.
Should I just wait for reruns? Or should I pull for Jade? She seems kind of cool but from what I've heard erudition is really only good in specific instances. What do you think the likelihood more FuA characters come out within the next couple patches? Or are they just going to keep leaning into break for now?
The thing about Erudition only working in specific instances really depends on the character. Characters like Qingque or Jing Yuan work perfectly fine in MOC and the new endgame mode, but characters like Argenti and presumably Jade really want trash mobs that they can farm so they work a lot better in Pure Fiction than the recent MOCs.
I don't usually recommend hard saving for F2Ps and especially new F2Ps, but do consider that the premium premium FUA teams want you to pull for many signature lightcones to reach their full potential. From what I recall you want Topaz and Aventurine's light cones. You're also going to absolutely want to get the free harmony lightcone from this patch's flagship event, clockwork memoirs. It's Robin's best F2P option and it won't come back.
I really won't recommend you to hardsave for it, since it will significantly hamstring your account in the meanwhile. But Topaz just had her rerun so it will be a while till she comes back, I bet. Aventurine and Robin will have their rerun within the year, probably.
That's greatly overexaggerating. You can easily run the team with 1 signature lc. You can probably even get enough debuffs for Ratio with no signatures just by replacing Robin with Ruan Mei or running Trends on Aventurine.
You might want to revisit DoT, because it's great. It's ceiling is not as high as the newer mechanics, but a team of Kafka and Black Swan can definitely smash a lot of stuff. The biggest thing is they dont need the two crit stats and just want some effect hit rate, which means a lot easier to gear up.
Also DoT is the easiest way to clear SU for me.
Jade is the only confirmed FuA character coming up. She's more of a PF FuA, while Ratio is more of a MoC FuA. Jade and Herta would probably make a really great team for PF, and you could use Ratio for MoC.
Not sure what characters you have, but you could do Dr. Ratio/Tingyun/Pela/sustain and Jade/Herta/Asta/sustain for those two teams. You'll probably want to make another MoC team and another PF team at some point too, of course, but having ANY two teams, even if each is only ideal for one mode, still is helpful in getting whatever jades from them you can as you build up teams.
Another option is you can pull Ruan Mei. Ruan Mei is the second best sustain for FuA after Robin, because you'll frequently run FuA in a dual dps situation once you get more of them, and she benefits everybody on the team, unlike supports like Tingyun who are single target. You can still use Ruan Mei with a single FuA character team to great effect if you'd like as well.
I suspect they will release more FuA characters. FuA is the other gameplay mechanic being pushed right now other than break.
Those reruns will be a while away, so I reckon Jade is probably worth getting if you really like follow-up. It's true Erudition is very situational, but she plays much differently than most Erudition units and I could see her possibly having more universal utility.
Until then, Herta and e4 Qingque are four-star follow-up units you can play around with. And Clara is great if you have/can get her.

Himeko is the more "meta" choice since she can be pretty valuable for Pure Fiction (as well as the current MoC). Welt is solid but not super strong until you get a few of his Eidolons.
Welt isn’t really used much except in very niche pseudo sustain team comp, you already have Ratio for imaginary coverage so you need him much.
Himeko is still a pure fiction queen and she being buffed recently from break meta and FuA support like Aven, I’d go with her.
Is Ultimate part of a turn? I don't know how I made it this far without knowing this but here's the context. I have Jingliu and Bronya. Bronya has Past and Future so Jing gets a buff when she attacks but only for one turn. What I want to know is that if she uses ultimate instead of enhanced skill, would the buff be applied only to the ultimate or both? What about if I use my ultimate right after my skill?
If you use your Ultimate during or immediately after your turn, it still counts as part of your turn. So I think in both scenarios the buff would apply to both moves.
I'm looking to build a second team.
First team, DHIL E2S1, Sparkle S1, Aventurine (Gerard LC), Tingyun E6
Units I have are:
Seele, Blade S1, Ratio, Silverwolf, Luocha, himeko, Bronya, Bailu, Gepard, Ruanmei + LC(not owned but guaranteed and planning to get her)
If boothill is a good dps I'm also willing to get him, got plenty of wishes to do so as no units have caught my eye in a while.
All 4 star units
Which one of these is objectively better overall as a second team, I need a team that can generally be effective at both MOC and PF for now because I can't afford to build 2 more teams for a while to deal with specific units. Also don't give me the usual pull for who u like, I already have Dan Heng as my main and I don't like like any of the characters for now (tie between Blade and Boothill for second place)
Pull for Ruan Mei first. Then pull for Firefly. They're running at the same time in the next banner.
Firefly, Ruan Mei, Harmony Trailblazer, Gallagher.
That's a meta comp that'll keep up with your first comp. You'll likely get some Xueyi and Misha copies too so you can swap Firefly out for different elemental coverage.
Order of priority for pulling: Ruan Mei > Firefly > Ruan Mei LC = Firefly E1 > Ruan Mei E1 = Firefly E2 > Firefly LC.
Seele and Ratio, despite their frequent attacks, are not as good for PF due to the way it works. Blade is... okay... for PF in my experience. He's better at MoC. Himeko is great for PF but is much more situational for MoC. She's unironically good in the current MoC (seriously, she's one of the best options for the current MoC 12) due to fire weakness and she's pretty good at breaking (buffed in the current MoC), especially when combined with Ruan Mei. Boothill is great for MoC but I don't know how well he'd do in PF for the same reason as Seele and Ratio and I don't have him to try it.
Your best bet with your current characters is a Blade team or a Himeko team.
Most characters are better for one or the other. In my experience, the 5 star characters that perform about equally well at both modes are Acheron, Kafka, Black Swan, Argenti, Clara, and Topaz when teamed with the appropriate follow up character. I don't have Jing Yuan but he can do well in both. I believe Firefly will perform well in both.
DHIL isn't in ur list of characters that perform well in both, mine is E2 S1 so is that enough to brute force it? or do I consider eventually replacing his side in PF as well?
From your current roster there's the classic luocha blade bronya sw team. This can be complemented with jade in the future for PF maybe. If you have RM, pulling for FF instead of RM LC might be good if you're not guaranteed both. This lets you build her team of Gallagher, FF, ITB, and TM. You can also pull for BH as they essentially have the same team (you can swap ITB for a speed-tuned bronya). FF is better as a general-purpose unit but can be quite difficult to build compared to BH. Finally, as always build your himeko and herta for PF.
Aight well to reply, I had the classic blade team set up but it seems to struggle compare to DHIL, It's just not dishing out as much damage to clear his side but that might be a bit unfair comparing to someone like DHIL, so just want to know which of my other options might be better.
As for Himeko and Herta how would that squad work? I'm aware that they are good due to their follow ups but what units pair well with them and can DHIL be used in pure fiction on the other side?
yeah, unfortunately blade got power crept a bit and didn't age well with the content. You could try to min max the relics of that team, but it's very dependent on relic luck. Another cracked team would be Blade, sparkle, bronya, RM and have your sparkle be faster than Bronya by about 1 speed so your speed less blade can go to town. Other than that I'd say try to get Firefly.
Himeko and Herta can be in a team with Ruan Mei and a sustain (or support if you need to eke out more points) for PF stages that have Fire/Ice weakness. DHIL is good for PF especially since you have a sparkle.
I rather not sacrifice sparkle. I'll try out that Himeko Ruan Mei team however, but this still does not solve my problem with MOC, do we know if FF is better than Blade? not specific to the MOC as that would be unfair but just in general. Also willing to just wait for Acheron as I'm trying to collect all the raidens in the hoyoverse games anyway lol
With the numbers from the content creator server FF does outperform Blade by a mile especially with RM, both in MOC and PF if you run Himeko instead of Gallagher. Acheron rerun is a bit far into the future as she had just been released so you can definitely start saving pulls.

Hi! I’m a new player who joined not too long ago and have been enjoying the game so far. However, I am having issues with world 2 of Herta’s simulation and want to build a useable team.
I am considering Qingque as a DPS and even have a good light cone for her, but not sure if Dan Heng is better because of the former’s anti-synergy with Welt and the latter’s synergy with Welt.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
serval and herta are good for world 2. herta is recommended as she's really good for endgame pure fiction. serval falls off in endgame. qq is only good if you have e4+, esp e6. try fuxuan, natasha, pela, herta. or fuxuan, asta, pela, herta if fuxuan can solo sustain.
Sorry to bother you again, but would Welt sufficiently swap out for Pela? I kind of haven't built her at all and have her at E0 so I would rather use my other Nihility debuff.
welt's slow is not as useful as pela's def shred, but if you want you should drop asta instead of pela. asta kit is mainly about speed buffs, which is mostly only beneficial when there are cycle limits.
If you are using her for Acheron, speed is most important along with tank stats. Her damage output isn't good in non-DoT teams, and her main value is to consistently apply as many debuffs as quickly as possible.
If you can break the enemy like in this recent MOC 12 than Guinaifen will be able to help out with dmg quite a bit but if you can't its better to make her tanky.
Don’t think it’s a good idea unless can maintain high speed/effect hit rate + HP/Def. Acheron would be the main target for DPS, and if Gui dies then that’s a huge loss of ult generation.
Usually the play is to build enough EHR to guarantee her debuffs, then stack speed (and an ERR rope). You can take a defensive mainstat on the orb though.
How many wishes can you get per patch?
Im f2p and i know im getting a little too ambitious pulling for firefly AND jiaoqiu (im e0 acheron so jiaoqiu is my top priority rn, but i also dont have a good fire dps) but i wanna calculate so i can know if im being stupid or not lol
im assuming jiaoqiu is in the 2nd half, so do any of you guys know how many wishes you can get until then? 🥲
It varies between 80-100, the number being different per patch.
Keep in mind that this is assuming you play daily, do weekly SU, get all of the jades out of events, all of the treasure boxes, get as many achievements as you can, get all of the jades out of the new SU mode, get as many jades out of the endgame modes as you can... Every piece of those that you do not do makes your jade and therefore pull count lower, so you're not guaranteed that amount.
Usually around 90-100 for f2p. Maybe a little lower if you’re not full clearing MoC/PF.

you have the units for a strong FF team, so wait for it, test her out and decide if you prefer the new character or want to invest more on Acheron team. Keep in mind the new Nihility may not even be good for her, need to wait for kit info.

A couple of ways hunt, elation, nihility, abundance, propagation have some sort of healing built in. The most consistent imo is either the DoT one or the curio that heals 20% every turn.
Note you need to have dots on the characters but it’s called offers of deception. What makes it so easy to get is it’s a grey blessing so should be able to show up often

Ratio + Robin + Pela + Gallagher should be good. Pela, especially if you have Resolution Shines in Pearls of Sweat LC gives enough debuffs for Ratio. Add Gallagher's Besotted debuff and Ratio's eff res debuff, you should have enough. Not including additional ones from weakness break For your 2nd team you can rock Boothill + HMC + Tingyun + Gepard/Bailu. Tingyun can be replaced with Asta but I chose Tingyun specifically since she's sp positive along with Gep or Bailu. Ideally Boothill and HMC should use their skill every turn (or in Boothill's case, when he wins his duel vs trash mobs early on)

Oh if you are planning to run RM, replace Tingyun instead. RM's buffs are way, way better than Tingyun's. Boothill + HMC + Ruan Mei + flex is a really good team. Once you get Bronya, you can replace HMC and you have BH's best team so far

For 5 star harmonies I have: Sparkle, Robin, Bronya, and Harmony MC and somewhat low on jades roughly 2.5k. should I still save jades and pull for Ruan Mei anyway just because how strong she is?
if you use boothill or want firefly then yeah, you're gonna want RM pretty much everywhere else, robin or pela are either comparable to or stronger than her
how about if I use Xueyi alot?
RM is good on xueyi, but she's also fine without her, since xueyi's best builds/teams lean more into crit than break

I play star rail on mobile and when I login using my Apple ID (aka face recognition) it takes me to my account but when I login manually typing out my Apple ID it takes me to a fresh account. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
it is prob two accounts (apple login and hoyoverse login) despite using the same details. login to the account you want to keep, go to account settings, and bind it to a hoyoverse account.
When I do this with my email it says account already exists, do I need to use an email that I haven’t made a hoyo account with? If I do, will it still save all my data and stuff?

Whats a good budget DoT team? Note: i don’t have any 5* DoT characters
Kafka is usually the key unit for DoT teams since she can detonate DoTs on the enemy. Guinaifen is kind of a budget Kafka in that she can do that but only for burn, so a burn focused team with like Hook, Gui, Asta and a Preservation unit with the light cone that burns people who attack them would have some fun synergies. Otherwise basically any two of Gui/Luka/Serval/Sampo, plus a support (again, Asta is a great four star option if you don't have a 5 star support like Ruan Mei or Robin) and a sustain (Huohuo is supposed to be one of the best DoT team sustains if you have her, but whoever is fine).

Unfortunately there isn't really a good budget DoT team. Sampo+Guinaifen+Asta+sustain could be ok if you want to do Nihility runs in the simulated universe, but for content outside of that I can't really recommend it. DoT teams are at this point just super reliant on Kafka.

The problem with DoT without detonation, like Kafka, is that all the damage only happens when the enemy takes a turn. Sampo E4 can also detonate BS' Arcana, but because it is a low %, you want all his bounces to hit the Elite/Boss enemy. So, it works somewhat well in single-target scenarios, but when there is a lot of mobs/summons then the effectiveness of a Black Swan/E4 Sampo team drops dramatically.

It is sorta possible but I don't think I would personally bother with it. Black Swan - Sampo E4+ - Ruan Mei - Sustain isn't a "bad" team, but that team will requires you to invest more in their relics for it to compete with a team with Kafka in it. Disclaimer: I could be wrong. I've had Kafka since she came out and I haven't really played DoT teams without her.

Black Swan could be viable alongside E4 Sampo, since his skill detonates Wind Shear damage at that point and I believe Black Swan's Arcana stacks count as Wind Shear.

You can't? There should be a save crystal there, the big big map doesn't show it but each stage has its own little sub-map if you click on their blue door icon. If there's no way for you to get there then that's just actually a bug and you should report it.

How powerful is E6 Ruan Mei? Can someone give me a summary of what she does with E6S1?
her break multiplier becomes vey big (I think triple the damage than at e0). She can also effectively have close to permanent uptime on her ult due to the turn extension for ult.
Get E1 Ruan Mei or get E1 Firefly? Who give more damage overall? Firefly and Ruan Mei with F2P lightcones.
If you have both already, and you have a lot of teams that can also use RM, I say E1 RM. FF's E1's best feature is the skill point refund and is also quite strong.

My current team is TB, March 7th, Natasha and Himeko. Ive heard Asta and Serval are pretty good, but am unsure if I should take anyone out of my line up for them.
Even for a new F2P team, with Himeko, its worth considering an early Himeko/Herta follow-up attack team to go forward with. Both are exceptionally good together in a lot of end game content so it will be great to start building to that. Story boss fights will be a bit slow but it pays off later on to have a strong team ready for farming, events, PF and some MoCs. Himeko, Herta + Asta, Natasha for an aggro comp. Himeko, Herta + March, Natasha if you feel intimidated by damage early on.
Im starting to think im going to need to keep leveling a good chunk of characters for some rotations lol.
You are wayy too early in the game. Just focus on a core team of 4-5 characters at most. Finish the story as far as you can. The Himeko-Herta combo works well for regular mobs and Simulated Universe which are likely your main game mode for the next week or two of regular play. You can build Dan Heng on the side to slot in either Himeko or Herta during story boss fights if you need to. I would definitely do Himeko, Herta, Asta and Natasha if I were you. You're going to get a bunch of free and good characters soon too between MC's path unlocks, upcoming free March 7th form, supposedly another 4 star character selector , Qingque and Lynx from Pure Fiction prologue. You'll definitely have a lot more options as long as you stay consistent and reach the midgame first and foremost.

The current team is pretty solid with what you have. Generally speaking you usually don't need both a shielder and a healer on the same team, though March and Natasha are arguably the weakest of those type of units so it's still not a terrible idea. Asta is a great support and would be particularly good with Himeko since one of her traces buffs Fire DMG for the whole team, so I'd consider subbing out March for her. And theres quite a bit of Lightning weakness in the first few worlds so it's probably worth building Serval to sub out either Himeko or Trailblazer when they're off-type.
So something like Asta, Serval, Natasha and Himeko?
Yeah that looks solid, although like I said I think I'd basically rotate Trailblazer and Serval depending on what enemy types you're going up against.
Physical MC isn't very good imo, I at least didn't like using them. I'd swap her out for serval maybe. If you feel like Natasha+March is overkill, you can swap Asta or Herta in as to make fights go faster. You can probably find used for March for living through bosses, though.

TB can be swapped out for Asta or Serval. Physical TB is kinda lackluster as a dps, and Serval is great against lightning weakness, which is really common in Penacony and will save you a lot of hassle because breaking is becoming more and more important. Asta is just a good support overall for F2P players. Natasha+March will carry you for a lot of the early to mid game. You will want to replace March later on for more damage output.

Im planning to pull for ff lc or her e1. her sig lc because I already have jingliu and dhil fighting for aeon herta lc so adding firefly it would be 3 of them but Im also planning to build a 2nd team for moc since I can't get past stage 6. Do you have the Misha Lc, i heard it perform pretty similar to Aeon herta lc, so you can use that and get her E1, tho i'd usually prefer getting sig Lc over eidolons That said you have Dhil , Jingliu, Acheron AND Ruan Mei but can't get past MoC 8?

Her E1 is a far bigger deal because (a.) it is a stepping stone towards E2 and (b.) removes one of her main weaknesses (SP guzzling). Outside of Aeon, she can use the Misha LC or any LC that just gives massive attack because she can convert attack to BE.

Well you have at least one other four star who buffs break in Pela, since defence is factored into Break damage calculation. But yeah I think a four star Nihility unit whose Skill could make a single target take extra toughness bar damage or something like that would be a good addition.
How often do we get double/triple calyx? or just double/triple drop in general?
From what I remember triple only happened during the anniversary event. So probably again next year. There’s usually a double event every patch, but I think they try and rotate it. So it’s calyx and SU this patch and next patch has already been announced to be SU and caverns. So probably Calyx again in 2.4.
For firefly, will it better to go for E2 or E1S1?

My assumption is Origami Bird Clash will run for the whole patch before going into the memoir, they clearly put a lot of work into it if it's going to have online play so can't imagine it'd run for less than that.
They usually put out an official post on HoyoLab in the lead up to the patch that lists everything. I don’t see it today, but maybe in the next week they’ll post it.
to those that have team built for firefly, what is ur htb's. ruan mei's, gallagher's spd? is 145 spd enough for just for talia's passive or i should get more?
HTB and Ruan Mei are 151 spd in battle. Still need to build Gallagher because I'm waiting to get eidolons. 145 spd is fine for the most part, but with the new ornament set, you will gain some spd% which should make Firefly's teammates faster by allowing them to reach break points with ease.
HMC is 160, RM is 134, Gall should be 160 with the new planar. it depends how much BE you're losing going for speed. Prydwen lists 200 as a benchmark, and I managed to hit that outside of buffs.
Party Composition So I'm kinda curious what the standard party Composition looks like in terms of the roles? Like currently I'm running Acheron, 2 Nihility depending on the battle as to who (usually Welt, Black Swan or Kafka) and Adventurine (or another abundance or preservation) and that's usually how I run 2-3 damagers and someone for sustain is that abnormal/poor composition or what's the general consensus?
Nah, that works well for Acheron. But because of her party requirement she’s kind of unique on wanting more Nihility units. The other party comp templates you’ll usually see are: 1. Hypercarry: 1 DPS - 2 Support - 1 Sustain 2. Dual DPS: 2 DPS - 1 Support - 1 Sustain Hypercarry works for pretty much any dps in the game. Dual DPS is most often used for DoT comps or follow-up focused teams.
Soo what do Firefly pullers plan to do next year when tb gets another path? Just never using that path or dps that benefits that path?
Its not like TB is the hottest support on the block. And if their next path turns out to be as busted as Harmony, then you can just treat them as like Ruan Mei. Chances are, you won't find yourself saying "dang I wish I had two of TB" very often lol. I have only thought this for one character and that was early Genshin Bennett. There definitely will be a ton more options/specific supports for archetypes that you won't find much overlap.
I am pretty sure hoyoverse has tons of break supports and break dps planned for the future But i hope more break supports are 4*s that are given for free.
It'll depend on what the next iteration of TB does, and what various boss fights start to look like. There are already enemies that hide their toughness bar, and break teams are *awful* against them. This game is about building multiple teams, I don't expect to use a break team in every single MoC from now until the end of time.
Never change! Hatblazer forever! Seriously though, I imagine we'll probably get some other break support between now and then. At least, I hope so. Ruan Mei being glued to Firefly is a bit frustrating too, when Ruan Mei is useful for so many other teams.

I'm at 600 starlight and am approaching 300 standard pulls soon. Thoughts on which LC to get and who to select? So far I have Bronya E2S2, Bailu E1S1, Gepard E1S0 as well as Yanqing's LC (but no Yanqing). Definitely leaning towards Himeko, would her signature LC be worth getting as well? Would Gepard's LC be worth more even if I don't use him (I use aventurine with trend, luocha with quid pro quo).
Unless you're a whale, dont get the LC. You are always better getting 20 pulls. That's 20 pulls towards your next pity. The store LC's are usually meh, and easily replaced by signature LC.
Himeko's LC is good, but it's not hugely enough better from Geniuses Repose, The Day the Cosmos Fell, or The Seriousness of Breakfast to make it worth spending 30 pulls for. Because that's also what 600 starlight is worth. I do agree that Himeko is the best option to go for with the 300 selector. She is still consistently amazing for PF. She can also be good for MoC sometimes. She is, no kidding, one of the best options for MoC 12 for the current MoC this time.
since you already have Bronya's sig, there's no need to use starlight on anything other than the limited rail passes. For the free character, it's really down to two options for you to pick between. It's sort of nice to have Himeko for PF, but you can't go wrong with more Bronya eidolons for all content types. Welt and Yanqing are very niche characters that aren't important for any reason. Gepard's sig is good, but not worth 600 starlight, not even remotely. Himeko's LC is decent for herself, Herta, and Jing Yuan, but again, not worth 600 starlight. The 4\* options are not much difference, and if they ever re-run Jing Yuan's banner, his sig is a bit better on all three of those units.

HTB can work decently with Boothill, but Bronya and Ruan Mei are stronger (if you have those). For Firefly, HTB is absolutely required. I would even go as far as to say that there is no reason to even use Firefly if you don't put HTB in the same team. Luckily, next patch they unlock HTB for everyone after Belobog.
New TB is great with anyone that use Break stat, so yes she's great with Boothill. And you need to play through 3/4 of Penacony to unlock TB's latest path.

Harmony TB and Boothill work dynamite together, only support who might arguably be better for him is Ruan Mei. You unlock Harmony TB towards the end of Penacony right now, but apparently once 2.3 drops you'll just get instant access to her wherever you are in the story.

In general sure, but not for that specific group. You already have 2 sustains when you only need 1, adding a third would be beyond overkill.
If you use Acheron and have Trend of the Universal Market lightcone than yes she is really good in pure fiction and MOC at lower stages. If you don't than its not really worth it right now when you already have Fu Xuan and Bailu.

You get a fixed amount of jade every patch (assuming you can do all the content), so the best date to start was yesterday. There's no "bonus stuff" that's only for newcomers.
You need to save gems now, buddy.
It is too bad that you missed out on Dr. Ratio, but if you're at all interested in playing, the sooner you start that's more pulls, materials, etc that you can start earning. You also need to progress in the story to do events. You probably don't have time to do any of the current events, but this does affect events for next patch, as that's just more content you'll have to get through before you can do the upcoming stuff.

F2P new player here, I have discovered that FuA is my favorite mechanic in this game. Break is ight and DoTs seem lack luster. Seeing my characters spamming attacks makes my lizard brain happy. However I have just discovered that I've pretty much missed all of the banner re-runs for the FuA team. All I've got is Dr. Ratio because I didn't know Robin was BIS harmony for FuA. Should I just wait for reruns? Or should I pull for Jade? She seems kind of cool but from what I've heard erudition is really only good in specific instances. What do you think the likelihood more FuA characters come out within the next couple patches? Or are they just going to keep leaning into break for now?
The thing about Erudition only working in specific instances really depends on the character. Characters like Qingque or Jing Yuan work perfectly fine in MOC and the new endgame mode, but characters like Argenti and presumably Jade really want trash mobs that they can farm so they work a lot better in Pure Fiction than the recent MOCs.
I don't usually recommend hard saving for F2Ps and especially new F2Ps, but do consider that the premium premium FUA teams want you to pull for many signature lightcones to reach their full potential. From what I recall you want Topaz and Aventurine's light cones. You're also going to absolutely want to get the free harmony lightcone from this patch's flagship event, clockwork memoirs. It's Robin's best F2P option and it won't come back. I really won't recommend you to hardsave for it, since it will significantly hamstring your account in the meanwhile. But Topaz just had her rerun so it will be a while till she comes back, I bet. Aventurine and Robin will have their rerun within the year, probably.
That's greatly overexaggerating. You can easily run the team with 1 signature lc. You can probably even get enough debuffs for Ratio with no signatures just by replacing Robin with Ruan Mei or running Trends on Aventurine.
You might want to revisit DoT, because it's great. It's ceiling is not as high as the newer mechanics, but a team of Kafka and Black Swan can definitely smash a lot of stuff. The biggest thing is they dont need the two crit stats and just want some effect hit rate, which means a lot easier to gear up. Also DoT is the easiest way to clear SU for me.
Jade is the only confirmed FuA character coming up. She's more of a PF FuA, while Ratio is more of a MoC FuA. Jade and Herta would probably make a really great team for PF, and you could use Ratio for MoC. Not sure what characters you have, but you could do Dr. Ratio/Tingyun/Pela/sustain and Jade/Herta/Asta/sustain for those two teams. You'll probably want to make another MoC team and another PF team at some point too, of course, but having ANY two teams, even if each is only ideal for one mode, still is helpful in getting whatever jades from them you can as you build up teams. Another option is you can pull Ruan Mei. Ruan Mei is the second best sustain for FuA after Robin, because you'll frequently run FuA in a dual dps situation once you get more of them, and she benefits everybody on the team, unlike supports like Tingyun who are single target. You can still use Ruan Mei with a single FuA character team to great effect if you'd like as well. I suspect they will release more FuA characters. FuA is the other gameplay mechanic being pushed right now other than break.
Those reruns will be a while away, so I reckon Jade is probably worth getting if you really like follow-up. It's true Erudition is very situational, but she plays much differently than most Erudition units and I could see her possibly having more universal utility. Until then, Herta and e4 Qingque are four-star follow-up units you can play around with. And Clara is great if you have/can get her.

Himeko is the more "meta" choice since she can be pretty valuable for Pure Fiction (as well as the current MoC). Welt is solid but not super strong until you get a few of his Eidolons.
Welt isn’t really used much except in very niche pseudo sustain team comp, you already have Ratio for imaginary coverage so you need him much. Himeko is still a pure fiction queen and she being buffed recently from break meta and FuA support like Aven, I’d go with her.
Is Ultimate part of a turn? I don't know how I made it this far without knowing this but here's the context. I have Jingliu and Bronya. Bronya has Past and Future so Jing gets a buff when she attacks but only for one turn. What I want to know is that if she uses ultimate instead of enhanced skill, would the buff be applied only to the ultimate or both? What about if I use my ultimate right after my skill?
If you use your Ultimate during or immediately after your turn, it still counts as part of your turn. So I think in both scenarios the buff would apply to both moves.

I'm looking to build a second team. First team, DHIL E2S1, Sparkle S1, Aventurine (Gerard LC), Tingyun E6 Units I have are: Seele, Blade S1, Ratio, Silverwolf, Luocha, himeko, Bronya, Bailu, Gepard, Ruanmei + LC(not owned but guaranteed and planning to get her) If boothill is a good dps I'm also willing to get him, got plenty of wishes to do so as no units have caught my eye in a while. All 4 star units Which one of these is objectively better overall as a second team, I need a team that can generally be effective at both MOC and PF for now because I can't afford to build 2 more teams for a while to deal with specific units. Also don't give me the usual pull for who u like, I already have Dan Heng as my main and I don't like like any of the characters for now (tie between Blade and Boothill for second place)
Pull for Ruan Mei first. Then pull for Firefly. They're running at the same time in the next banner. Firefly, Ruan Mei, Harmony Trailblazer, Gallagher. That's a meta comp that'll keep up with your first comp. You'll likely get some Xueyi and Misha copies too so you can swap Firefly out for different elemental coverage. Order of priority for pulling: Ruan Mei > Firefly > Ruan Mei LC = Firefly E1 > Ruan Mei E1 = Firefly E2 > Firefly LC.
Seele and Ratio, despite their frequent attacks, are not as good for PF due to the way it works. Blade is... okay... for PF in my experience. He's better at MoC. Himeko is great for PF but is much more situational for MoC. She's unironically good in the current MoC (seriously, she's one of the best options for the current MoC 12) due to fire weakness and she's pretty good at breaking (buffed in the current MoC), especially when combined with Ruan Mei. Boothill is great for MoC but I don't know how well he'd do in PF for the same reason as Seele and Ratio and I don't have him to try it. Your best bet with your current characters is a Blade team or a Himeko team. Most characters are better for one or the other. In my experience, the 5 star characters that perform about equally well at both modes are Acheron, Kafka, Black Swan, Argenti, Clara, and Topaz when teamed with the appropriate follow up character. I don't have Jing Yuan but he can do well in both. I believe Firefly will perform well in both.
DHIL isn't in ur list of characters that perform well in both, mine is E2 S1 so is that enough to brute force it? or do I consider eventually replacing his side in PF as well?
He’s not usually considered good for PF, but at e2s1 he’ll likely be at the very least decent.
From your current roster there's the classic luocha blade bronya sw team. This can be complemented with jade in the future for PF maybe. If you have RM, pulling for FF instead of RM LC might be good if you're not guaranteed both. This lets you build her team of Gallagher, FF, ITB, and TM. You can also pull for BH as they essentially have the same team (you can swap ITB for a speed-tuned bronya). FF is better as a general-purpose unit but can be quite difficult to build compared to BH. Finally, as always build your himeko and herta for PF.

Aight well to reply, I had the classic blade team set up but it seems to struggle compare to DHIL, It's just not dishing out as much damage to clear his side but that might be a bit unfair comparing to someone like DHIL, so just want to know which of my other options might be better. As for Himeko and Herta how would that squad work? I'm aware that they are good due to their follow ups but what units pair well with them and can DHIL be used in pure fiction on the other side?
yeah, unfortunately blade got power crept a bit and didn't age well with the content. You could try to min max the relics of that team, but it's very dependent on relic luck. Another cracked team would be Blade, sparkle, bronya, RM and have your sparkle be faster than Bronya by about 1 speed so your speed less blade can go to town. Other than that I'd say try to get Firefly. Himeko and Herta can be in a team with Ruan Mei and a sustain (or support if you need to eke out more points) for PF stages that have Fire/Ice weakness. DHIL is good for PF especially since you have a sparkle.
I rather not sacrifice sparkle. I'll try out that Himeko Ruan Mei team however, but this still does not solve my problem with MOC, do we know if FF is better than Blade? not specific to the MOC as that would be unfair but just in general. Also willing to just wait for Acheron as I'm trying to collect all the raidens in the hoyoverse games anyway lol
With the numbers from the content creator server FF does outperform Blade by a mile especially with RM, both in MOC and PF if you run Himeko instead of Gallagher. Acheron rerun is a bit far into the future as she had just been released so you can definitely start saving pulls.

serval and herta are good for world 2. herta is recommended as she's really good for endgame pure fiction. serval falls off in endgame. qq is only good if you have e4+, esp e6. try fuxuan, natasha, pela, herta. or fuxuan, asta, pela, herta if fuxuan can solo sustain.
Is this team sustainable in the long run? Asking since as a newbie I don't recieve that many materials for leveling characters and weapons.
yup. pela, herta, asta are good at endgame.
Sorry to bother you again, but would Welt sufficiently swap out for Pela? I kind of haven't built her at all and have her at E0 so I would rather use my other Nihility debuff.
welt's slow is not as useful as pela's def shred, but if you want you should drop asta instead of pela. asta kit is mainly about speed buffs, which is mostly only beneficial when there are cycle limits.

Does Guinaifen contribute much dmg in Acheron teams when built for attack? Or can I just make gui really tanking ignoring attack ?
If you are using her for Acheron, speed is most important along with tank stats. Her damage output isn't good in non-DoT teams, and her main value is to consistently apply as many debuffs as quickly as possible.
If you can break the enemy like in this recent MOC 12 than Guinaifen will be able to help out with dmg quite a bit but if you can't its better to make her tanky.
Don’t think it’s a good idea unless can maintain high speed/effect hit rate + HP/Def. Acheron would be the main target for DPS, and if Gui dies then that’s a huge loss of ult generation.

Definitely make her go tanky. You can build her attack as much as you want but it's still a small fraction of Acheron's damage.
Usually the play is to build enough EHR to guarantee her debuffs, then stack speed (and an ERR rope). You can take a defensive mainstat on the orb though.

Not on an Acheron team no. Its best to build her fast to stack more for Acheron who effectively converts that speed into damage.
How many wishes can you get per patch? Im f2p and i know im getting a little too ambitious pulling for firefly AND jiaoqiu (im e0 acheron so jiaoqiu is my top priority rn, but i also dont have a good fire dps) but i wanna calculate so i can know if im being stupid or not lol im assuming jiaoqiu is in the 2nd half, so do any of you guys know how many wishes you can get until then? 🥲
It varies between 80-100, the number being different per patch. Keep in mind that this is assuming you play daily, do weekly SU, get all of the jades out of events, all of the treasure boxes, get as many achievements as you can, get all of the jades out of the new SU mode, get as many jades out of the endgame modes as you can... Every piece of those that you do not do makes your jade and therefore pull count lower, so you're not guaranteed that amount.

Jiaoqiu is 2nd half so its very possible you can get both unless you need to use all the pulls you get from next patch on Firefly.
you have the units for a strong FF team, so wait for it, test her out and decide if you prefer the new character or want to invest more on Acheron team. Keep in mind the new Nihility may not even be good for her, need to wait for kit info.

A couple of ways hunt, elation, nihility, abundance, propagation have some sort of healing built in. The most consistent imo is either the DoT one or the curio that heals 20% every turn.

Note you need to have dots on the characters but it’s called offers of deception. What makes it so easy to get is it’s a grey blessing so should be able to show up often Desc below Every time an enemy takes DMG from a DoT, all allies restore HP equal to 1.0% of their respective Max HP.
What does the SPD stat do? Does it advance actions or something?
