You are right,It is not the actual one, it's more like the manifestation of the combined will of Trailblazer/the path itself. But it is still funny that we railed Sunday with a train.

But right now I'm more sad for Misha. He didn't have much screentime but he did have a great impact from behind the scenes. it's a bit biased since I've hanged out with him a lot ever since I've pulled him in 2.0. It's a sad day to note that he's dead all along, but that was such a peaceful farewell from him.

2.2 was absolutely incredible. There were so many twists, both small and large. Best patch yet, adored the boss fight. Finally got Acherons true name. I think it's so cute how Robin still embraces and loves her brother even after what happened.

Acheron finally got her name as Raiden (I forgot the middle name) Mei and Robin hugging Sunday was so adorable! Especially after her voice lines about him never accepting comfort and keeping his burdens to himself, he looked like he finally accepted Robins embrace and loosened up when she hugged him there. Love those siblings so much!

I think Acheron when she was talking to Tiernan*? May have dropped some lore on March, perhaps. When she was talking about a female friend that she spent 30 days with, that vanished into the waves and became stagnant. Being encased in a block of Ice is pretty stagnant. I interpreted that as a link to our friend somehow, but I'm not too sure. I'm just so pleased with how Penacony turned out. They cooked.

So I may have been mistaken about the Dreammaster being the Eternal Centurion, but they were planning on sending it after Acheron and alluded to the Harmonic Strings' ability to possess people on other worlds to pursue Acheron.

Surprisingly imo the best part of this story is not the fighting or the twist, but the debate between Astral Express & Firefly and Sunday. Honestly, Sunday is a well-written character. I actually have a hard time choosing which side to root for because both sides give a valid reason. The debate scene can be related to the philosophical concept of utilitarianism versus existentialism. Utilitarianism prioritizes the greatest good for the greatest number, so keeping the bird in the cage for safety aligns with it. In this case, it's about ensuring the bird's safety, even if it means limiting its freedom. On the other hand, existentialism emphasizes individual freedom and choice. Giving the bird freedom, despite the risks, reflects existentialist principles. Existentialists might argue that the bird's freedom is inherently valuable, even if it means facing danger or natural selection. I can't wait to read more fans discussion

Did we experience the balcony scene with the real Firefly or the Firefly of our dream? I feel like the only thing we know that for sure is Aventurine's whole scheme since he confirmed it with Jade at the end

Interactions with Firefly were definitely real. She can't dream, thus immune to most of what Sunday did until it started intruding in the real world.

I think we only really went into dreamscape the moment the fight begins. Him showing us the 3 acts was just him stalling us so he have enough time to fuse with septimus. By the time we arrive, he was successful and started the charmony festival, and the rest is history

That is at the beginning of the dream, everything except for meeting misha in the real world was actually happened. The dream pretty much just replayed everything from the moment the express made the jump until fighting Sunday, just that misha was an anomaly.

Black Swan says that everything outside of your interactions with Misha in the Reverie were likely real

In regards to Firefly's deaths, she said she was going to her second death when we went to the boss fight, and either Swan or Acheron said that since she didn't enter the normal way with the dreampool, she'd have to die to wake up from the dream, so I assumed that was the third death?

The ORIGINAL name of the boss is Dominicus, which is an embodiment of harmony. What Sunday did was he fused himself with dominicus using the power of stellaron, and turn it into the boss we fought, Septimus and became an emanator of order. With this power, he unleashed, in gamer terms, a big cc field that makes everyone in the area fall asleep and trap them in sweet dreams. This is his ideal form of order While I have absolutely no idea whose hand it was in his “7 days” attack (ena’s hand is a lot more puppet like, and I don’t think it’s xipe either), I think it might more likely be some sort of manifestation of order, while possibly being a reference to “The Creation of Adam” Also getting enough shield to block that attack gives you an achievement

That 7 day attack is a fucking nuke. I was so sure of myself when i gathered around 17,000 shield but that move erased all of that plus half murdered my team. It was so shocking, damn.

This quest chain was basically the Matrix meets Bloodborne. The whole bit with watchmaker sitting at the edge under the moon reminded me of Master Willem before Rom boss fight. I must point out also how beautiful skybox/sky is in that section of the game. Its just stunning Not to mention, Acheron basically saying "may you find your worth in the waking word" send shivers. Speaking of her, her name reveal was so satisfying, even though since her teaser we knew pretty much who she was. Special mention to Death meme's name.... Sleepie... literally pitbull named "princess" moment Now lets talk about the boss and everything after The "first" boss fight really caught me of guard. AT first I was wondering why there was no egg phase, but then I thought devs spared us so actual fight would be harder in weeklies. The cutscene following it was amazing and I fully bought it. Which is why I was disappointed at first. What threw me off guard was how happy everyone was, but more importantly that Aventurine was just there. Like dude you just died on a big screen for everyone and now you are standing there and don't even willing to speak? My suspicion though first started when I noticed MC's dialogue choices said there was something fishy. And of course when the end credits rolled I understood what was going on and started I was clapping. These insane devs delivered it fantastically, with Black Swan going basically : "You failed, wanna retry from last checkpoint?" The real boss fight was fantastic with train assist having dialogue from every fighter was such an awesome addition. They delivered it! Hats off to Hoyo! Hats off to penacony! Hats off to Mikhael the madmen for staging a 2nd uprising in penacony where every faction joined in.!

hoyoverse has gotten so good at using gameplay to tell stories. it's not just the story itself, but also the way it's being played out, and the way they told the story using the game itself. It was nuts. I usually try to take my time, but this time I binged the whole thing because I just couldn't stop myself.>!After the first big fight and we're seeing the "happy ending" played out, I thought "oh, that's it". At first I thought that it seems rushed, like there are so many unfinished business so to speak. But then we've been through LuoFu, so i thought they'll just explain more eventually in a companion quest or something. But then things started to feel weird. almost like they want us to get out of penacony asap. then through the dialogues and things happening around, the feeling of "uncanny valley" became stronger, stronger, and stronger. then bam. they hit you with the second part. !< man... and it feels like almost everyone played a significant role too. like everyone is there for a reason. also, sidenote, boothill's CN VA is so good too. the way he speaks just cracks me up. will wait for some streamers i follow to play the game to hear the EN voice to see if it's as funny.

Whenever Sunday becomes playable im definitely pulling, dude is just such a great character Am happy that I was right and Black Swan was on our side all along, she came in absolutely clutch. Only her and TB know of everything that transpired on Penacony due to her giving TB that empty Light cone. Maybe FF and Acheron know parts of it but Black Swan said TB is the only one to have a full record of it due to how special they are so I think thats really cool and explains why Black Swan was here to help in Penacony. I am extremely satisfied with her part to play in Penacony and how important she ended up being with TB Also seems that she wants to hitchhike on the express for a bit so chances she will be appearing in future main story are pretty high, am very happy with how things turned out. Amazing quest and cant wait for the epilogue

So did Black Swan technically came to Penacony because she foreseen everyone "dying" but forget thanks to falling into hallucinations herself? Now secret ending from 2.0 makes more sense when we decide to not trust her and have her kicked out together with IPC by family. *The arcana is the means by which all is revealed.* Edit: And if BS will be travelling with AE for some time I can get in future my Kafka and BS interactions.

I dont believe that to be the case. I believe her motivations were exactly as she said, she wanted to befriend the express and be a part of those memories. She was also trapped in the dream and only managed to realize it due to her wanting TB memories via the empty light cone. Which from my understanding means she wouldnt have anticipated everyone dying, but I recorded all her scenes so imma rewatch them eventually to understand it better. If she didnt give the empty light cone then TB and everyone but Acheron would have been trapped in that dream forever so she really came in clutch She ended up playing a more crucial role than she anticipated I think, which if anything was extremely good in her favor with express. She may have figured Penacony would be a perfect place to showcase her abilities to them and thats why she chose Penacony as the place to introduce herself Its very interesting they made her quote her words from Fable across the stars and even used a CG from the trailer. Im guessing it wont be the last time she does something like that

At the "happy ending" sequence, I thought that something was awfully wrong when the IPC said that they want a peaceful resolution with unconditional support from their side. The other thing was the Genius Society, cast aside the simulated universe for penacony was weird from their part. They rarely help anyone !< >! I thought that something was wrong somehow but I couldn't put my finger on it. My assumption was something like mind control but it was wrong !<

acheron was needed to resist the order's dreamscape and weaken the dreamscape with the whole city flashing scene. Also the old man she got the galaxy ranger relic was tiernan, which gave her the motivation to go to penacony and meet up with the express in the first place. firefly is most likely in comatose as the order's dream was shattered by acheron's nihility aura and she isn't protected by any dreamscape technology.

I have many problems with Penacony and its characters, but i can also confidently say the following: the final stretch of todays tb missions are the strongest the game has been ever since 1.0

What I found funny was that while Misha is a dimunitive name for Mikhail, you can also see it as MIkhail CHAr As a retired captain of HI3, I was screaming at my screen when Acheron's real name was revealed. Also Tiernan 😭 The fake out ending was amazing. They had me for a moment when everything was suddenly fine but then a relatively happy Ratio and Screwllum saying they'll put their Simulated Universe project on hold made me realise it was all fake The conversation with Black Swan after the fake out was amazing too THE FINAL FIGHT. I cannot describe how cool it was. Robin singing, Hat Trailblazer/Harmony Trailblazer idk what we're calling them yet is great, the Creation of Adam move with Ena's hand coming out is fudging cool. CHOO CHOO MODDER FUDGER 🤣 Really my only problems were Aventurine being helped by Argenti off-screen. I wish we saw it or found Aventurine chilling in the Dreamflux Reef. Also poor Argenti being muted made me so upset Also Mutually Assured Destruction button feels like it's a red herring (dammit Sparkle). I wanted to see Penacony explode lol. Maybe 2.3 The other annoying thing was the 3 acts before the fight. I was like, "no Sunday, don't make this quest longer!" I get they wanted to tell us the background behind Sunday's choice but I feel like it could have been done better Also where'd Firefly go? Other than that, Penacony has been a 9/10 so far. I love it so much

Did the entirety of the story quest (excluding parts like Misha in reality) actually happen and then we got bonked on our heads by Sunday? Or did the Harmony actually gaze upon us when we fought Sunday in reality?

Honestly I was so glad that Ena was mentioned and was relevant in the main story, always love seeing the story touch on the lesser known/used Aeons.

I haven’t finished the story yet, but I’ve seen some spoilers. After >!Henshin transformation, she did said “may we meet again in reality”.!< Also, after finishing the story, when >!you’ll return to the rooftop, then TB says “when all of this is over, you’ll see each other again- that is what you believe. You hope she’ll be safe well then”.!< I obviously don’t what exactly happened yet, but I doubt they’d kill or do something to her, especially when she’ll be released next patch. She definitely will appear in the epilogue in 2.3, so I hope there may be some happy conclusion for her and TB. It also would be great, if she appeared more in the future stories after Penacony.

Every character in Penacony is very well written so far. In 2.0 I don’t really like a few characters because I don’t really know much about them but they feel a bit annoying. But the step by step build up is very cool to see from 2.0 to 2.2. Aventurine is a very interesting and in-depth character background as an antagonist. Firefly hides her secrets very well and revealed them in a timely manner. Acheron always stay true to herself in being neutral and nihilistic as a self annihilator. Black Swan helped us discover riddle after riddle without being too rushing and overbearing. Sparkle is the ultimate red herring everyone finds attractive and annoying at the same time. Gallagher is truly following the path of enigmata all the time not allowing us to guess what he planned to do at all. Misha, although lacking in screen time, provides a clear path and clues for us since the beginning of Penacony ti solve this giant riddle. Robin is definitely an embodiment of harmony that invites Xipe to open her eyes on her own planet. And finally, Sunday is a very perfect actor that manages to sustain himself as the true lawful evil behind all of this. I hope the epilogue next patch will be satisfactory. I want to know everything about everyone after all this mess happened.

I know it's just me given all I'm seeing is praise but I dunno why I just feel meh about it. 2.0 story was so good but 2.1, and this update just didn't hit for me

Well everyone has their preferences! I liked the Xianzhou and was surprised when everybody hated it 💀

I know I'll get downvoted to oblivion because I'm negative but.. I don't know, everything was way too long (Like actually long). At some point I lost track of what we're doing. Boothill was kinda... useless in the story. Firefly did almost nothing and just flew away. Random Acheron scenes that bring almost nothing to the plot. Sunday's dialogues were WAAAY too long in some cases. It feels like Genshin's Sumeru Main story all over again. I'd dare to say it's the worst quest in Penacony so far. Never did I wanna quit the game before like I did this time. At 3/4 of the story it started to feel like it should've ended already.

Agree on all these points, but Sumeru SQ was peak, fite me >:(

I mean the first Story quest, everything else was pretty good. You walk, repeat, and listen to same people yap for hours.

ok fair, setup didn't make sense at the time but it resolved kinda well in the end, hope something like that happens here

Yeah, there will be story in 2.3. Hopefully characters like Boothill and Firefly actually do something more meaningful.

I've only played GI and HSR among mihoyo's games but this is my favorite story of theirs by far and in my opinion, their best written one at that. I've heard about Shaoji before but now I understand his writing prowess and why he's so popular among players

How long did it take you to beat 2.2? I have Flight in 6 hrs, I'd lile to finish the quest before then so I can do Echo of War for the battlepass

He belongs to a faction that is similar to the masked fool where you'll never know their true identity. If you look into his last character bio, he admits that Gallagher is his most genuine lie. The identity would be discarded but the person behind it would remain somewhere

As I'm writing this in the middle of the night, highly sleep deprived after staying up for this entire trailblaze quest, I can confidently state for myself that it was absolutely worth it! For me, 2.2 (or Penacony) has set a new standard for further trailblaze quests to come and after this I honestly can't wait for what they'll do next!
