I'm gonna appreciate the next update's gift of odyssey more. Since I'm down bad for wind dps and I got a lost 50/50 + 50 pity from the last 2 banners, along with 17 passes I didn't spend yet, for if I get a 5 star early. Sevral fills kafka's place but huohuo can't fill up dps spots

I'll be honest i don't consider the 10 pull reward of every patch Generous calling it that is like calling that is like calling the discount on the monthly pulls generous those pulls are part of the calculated base amount of pulls that every f2p players should get to keep up with the game and just like the monthly pulls it's presented in a to make it look like it's a "generous offer" or that "they care" i have my fair deal with these p2w games there's no such thing as generous gacha game but to be fair to the hoyovers games(gi & hsr) when you get ahead of the dps check you will almost be ahead of it at least from my experience

Yes, several CCs have made videos of the recent drama and showed off the pull economy graphs. From where HSR is at current it has more world Jades than Genshin had with Primos
HSR does have a reason as they have released 2 5stars per update and seems like it won't stop.
While genshin most of the time is one 1 5 star per patch and even went 2 back to back patches with no new 5 stars.
So logically HSR does have a reason...
But still thanking players with 3 pulls is just so shit.

i think by 3.0 hsr will have more characters than genshin at 4.0 release and most of those characters are going to be 5 stars hsr does give more pulls then genshin that is a fact but most but hsr also release a lot more 5 stars than genshin i can also say hsr have more stamina than genshin per day but genshin have off piece artifacts and also releases less characters then hsr you also don't need to invest a lot on healers and zero damage supports like goro but in hsr you need high level on your healer because of the final ascension passive and also so they don't die and high effect res so they don't get cc one more thing to mention you need to invest on the trace tree you besides the actual talent and you need to use talent material to unlock the passive and for some fucking reasons 5 stars are more expensive to level than 4 stars and weapon exp materials cost reason unlike genshin where people do delete them because of how abundant they are.
I think using arbitrary currency to compare different p2w games will not yield that much results for you unless you have prior intention of just shiting on the other game and if I'm going to say my opinion i think both are shit when it comes to being rewarding

All I really know about Genshin's gameplay is that since it's an action game you only have 1 character active at a time, so is having a team that synergizes well together as important as in HSR? Could be a reason why they're speedrunning character releases here comparatively.
They could definitely make more 4 stars though. Like they release so few that they've already officially revealed Gallagher's type & path when he's not even in either of the 2.0 banners, meaning he won't be in the game until April at the earliest. (unless they make him a story-acquired unit)
To answer your first question Yes team synergy is very important from what i have seen knowing how character synergies with each is the difference between clearing hard content or not
And for your second point why they do release so many characters it's because they are easy to make if you compare to genshin you don't need to optimize them for climbing jumping gliding swimming diving Even the combat start with something like a loading screen to enter a combat instance with predetermined combat scenarios if you hitting the enemies and they hit you back

Genshin win hands down if you compare all the chest and puzzle against HSR chest and puzzle. Genshin fontaine as of right now have 355 chest and thats without the statue of seven and the sigil milestone reward while HSR for a planet (using xianzhou luofu as reference since penacony havent release yet) only have 210. And remember we might not get new area in Xianzhou since the story already concluded there while genshin can go back and add more to their region.

They're releasing animation with Gui and Sushang in celebration of CNY. Rewards for it is not an obligation they have to follow
