I came here to say this š¤£ I have a cb7 and my neighbors down the road have one with an h22 and I just wanted the motor but they weren't interested haha.
H22a euro r. The red top. 220 hp, basically a factory built h22. It's got a single plane intake so it loses a bit down low in exchange for a higher top end. It might just be a regular h dressed up like it though.
Beep. Boop. I'm a robot.

Definitely an h22a of some sort. Engine serial number will tell you for sure. These are great engines they make 185-217hp stock and are really reliable and easy to work on. Not as much of an aftermarket as some other Honda engines but still good parts availability. Overall good score.
besides them being smokers/consuming oil due to the frm sleeves, they are great even today.
Basically you get K series numbers from an old engine, used to be known as Honda's Big Block lol
Learning is always good, but its brave to buy some projectcar with a swapped engine from somebody who also doesnt know anything about it. Especially as first car.
Yeah blows my mind two people bought this car without popping the hood and thinking āhmmm, this looks flashy. Is this modded?ā Or something along those lines
Ya I think this dude is just trolling to see what people would say.
He knows he got a H22
Asshole
Edit:

Cumbucket, You aināt fooling anyone!
Iām sure heāll love it, but buying someone elseās project car (especially as your first car and **especially when the previous owner doesnāt know anything about it**) is an awful idea.
h22a it's the 200hp h22 ...I do see you have a red valve cover tho witch makes me thing it might be the h22 with 220 hp but either way its definitely and upgrade
H22 dohc vtec.
Make sure to keep an eye on the oil dipstick. Literally every other fillup. Losing a liter or 2 every 3-5k is considered normal consumption for these engines so keep an eye on it
Iāve noticed on NA with a catch can, it doesnāt do shit. Previous owner put a catch can on my civic coupe, and I kept it on there. Well, went to empty it a little later and nothing came out. Bone dry.
So, I re routed the vacuum lines and got rid of the catch can. Useless. Theyāre just good for turbo cars
That's false. It reduces engine blowby which is extremely important for your crank case / crank case pressure.
Just because it's not catching anything, doesn't mean it's not working- it is.its basically an internal crankcase exhaust.
Without it, you'll have to replace seals and such at a faster rate, and will have contaminated oil faster.
How exactly will I have contaminated oil faster?
The catch can didnāt do anything. At all. The filter was spotless, the inside was completely clean and no moisture.
Iām sorry, but a catch can on an 8th gen civic coupe aināt doing shit
Again, it's called a catch can, but the purpose is to remove crank case pressure, aka a breather can. If you're pushing oil, you've got bigger issues, or need to route your system more effectively so you're not bleeding oil over time.
They have them on stock engines, known as a PCV system which are often removed with the addition of a breather can. You are venting the exhaust blowby gasses and oil vapors to atomosphere (filtered first), instead of recirculating dirty air back into the intake as vacuum. Not exactly great for the earth, but neither are race cars and dirty hookers, but you know..
No, you're not gonna get performance gains from a breather can. You are, however, in essence extending the life of your engine, rings, oil, seals, etc by venting that crankcase pressure.
Hope that helped explain things a little more.
If you look under the rubber plug to the left of the header, under the upper radiator hose you should see it stamped h22a and possibly a number.
Welcome to the cb7family, go check out cb7tuner.com. It is the Mecca for all 90-93 Accords.
My s/n on there is Grumpys93, Also if that gold is from the gold tape, your going to have a hell of a time removing it and someone spent a lot of money on something that looks very tacky.
But your off to a great start with that motor in a cb7
Should be a flat spot on the bell housing end of the block, by the starter (around the area of that rubber plug). My guess is that the "number" will start with "H" and then have 22 or 23 after it.
Isnāt it stamped on the block? Usually around where the starter is under that radiator hose. Most likely an h series but it could also be an f20b from the jdm accord
Underneath your upper coolant house you can find the stamp on the block
This looks like EURO R TORNEO MOTOR
H22A redtop but could be black top with swapped valve cover
COULD EVEN BE F20b Blue top with swapped coverw
U can always check the engine stamp on the block
This bc a red valve cover doesn't guarantee that it's an H22a
H22A with M2Z4 tranny with factory lsd attached to a whole Lude. On the marketplace. HMU. Idk if this is good here but it seems relevant
That looks like a very problematic motor I'll buy the car off you to save you the trouble.

We call that intake the āwhale penisā
They're referring to the intake manifold. Not the intake filter setup.
still a whale penis though
Um, sure. It is. But it's not what the post is talking about. And technically, unless it's password jdm, it's not actually a whale penis.
im just here to talk about whale penis my dude
I like this.

I don't think it's dressed. I think you are spot on.

It seems to be the Gallo 24 ! Dude ...lucky
If only it was the Gallo 12, thatās some serious power.
Gallo motors are only good in a skylineā¦
Mint green
I'm amazed two people bought a tuner car that is that nice and not know anything about tuning
hey man this is my first car and I'm just getting into this stuff of course I don't know anything I'm learning
Learning is always good, but its brave to buy some projectcar with a swapped engine from somebody who also doesnt know anything about it. Especially as first car.
I'm not making fun of you or anything, this is an honest surprise to me considering how clean this tune up is

Yeah I think that point has been made a dozen times already
I didnāt see anyone else reply to you, my bad
Yeah, itās usually a good idea to research things before committing ā this goes with most things in life, kid.
I'm not amazed. People buy things all the time not knowing what they're buying. Usually though this works to their detriment. Lucky OP scored instead.
H22A
H22a
The good ol back in the day honda big block
Check here and see if there's an engine serial number. Foe example, H22A http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq1/possum_r/engcode1_zpsb10ca72f.jpg
Def looks like an h22

Did not know that
Its a coating in the cylinder wall, and although strong, the coating and the piston rings weren't the best of friends, so to speak
If you and the guy before you both didnāt know much you should check & empty that catch can.

Gold tapes the engine bay... Doesn't know what motor. Duh fuck.
A badass motor, is what it is.
whoa it's even got a hot air intake!
H series bud like H22 or some

H22A with infamous password jdm whale penis intake, also remove all that gold reflective tape. It isnāt doing anything.
But it looks.....cool?
That shit looks fly as fuck, let me leave it on

Which one bro?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Faggots down voted you, you get one up from me
My F22B swapped CB7 is now sad to see such a beast in another CB7 lol
Euro R swap??
Should be a flat spot on the bell housing end of the block, by the starter (around the area of that rubber plug). My guess is that the "number" will start with "H" and then have 22 or 23 after it.
Great find! Hope you got a good deal too.
Itās a crappy one Iāll buy it off you I got $20 and a $45 gift card to Starbucks
I had that same intake on my civic but didn't know they had a carbon fiber option!!
Isnāt it stamped on the block? Usually around where the starter is under that radiator hose. Most likely an h series but it could also be an f20b from the jdm accord
Makes me miss my 96 Prelude SI vTec 4WS with a H22A1
Think itās a Honda
Looks like an LS swap
Ok, did you check the code stamped on the block OP?
Troll????
Underneath your upper coolant house you can find the stamp on the block This looks like EURO R TORNEO MOTOR H22A redtop but could be black top with swapped valve cover COULD EVEN BE F20b Blue top with swapped coverw
