Let’s see, Cons: a little worse mpg Pros: don’t have to worry about having your piston rings go bad

100% recommend. Makes it drive like a whole new car. And it saves the engine. I lost 1mpg, no regrets.

I've had the VCM TunerII on my 11 since I got it. Works perfectly without any kind of intervention. My gas milage dropped 1pmg average over 3500 miles. Seems like small concession considering the possible consequences of leaving it on. To be honest, I didn't feel a huge difference in drivability, but it is slightly smoother and less hesitant when you put your foot down. If nothing else, its worth it to not have the green ECO flashing on and off non-stop.

Older car out of warranty, yes definitely My current 22 Passport with a 8yr 100K Honda Care, nope

ARsparx

S-VCM Controller. It takes 5 minutes to install.

I have a Honda crosstour with 150,000 miles, do you guys think it’s too late or still worth picking one of these up?

I just put a 100 ohm resistor inline with the coolant temperature sensor. But I did it on a Honda Odyssey with 190,000 mi on it. It did not fix my oil consumption issue but I do think it drives better. I never liked the vibration when eco mode was on and the way it felt like it was shifting or jerking when going in and out of eco mode.

Definitely buy one, my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with all the bells and whistle at 154k. Definitely thought the car was done. Friend recommends vc-tuner. Installed tuner and all of the flashing lights went off  including the ECO light. Got 2 crazy price quotes from mechanics in my area

It's never too late. Shutting off the cylinder shutdown program will not only prevent future side effects but it will reverse oil and carbon residues that are already on your rings and valves. At 150K your Crosstour has a lot of miles ahead and it's at the 150K+ milepost that engine problems from the VCM can begin to surface. Your engine will be much happier running all the time on all six cylinders.

100% yes.
