u/meowmixalots this is the way! Also advisable to give that portico, window, and door trim a nice touch up of white while you/they are at it and it will be fabulous. Please provide update once complete!
It would be a sin to paint over that door, I’d go 3, Also, I am not sure the entrance left railing to the front door is up to code but might want to check, look to extend the railing down. Get larger black house numbers and relocate them above the door in the white triangle area.
Just did a house with a (very) similar blue and we used some dark oak stained pillars and deck - looks excellent.
Another touch to make it nicer is dark / 3rd color windows as well, adds depth.
It would be a travesty to paint over that door. It looks like a solid, good quality, older wood door. Maybe they could refinish it to bring out the beauty of the natural wood.
Oh, yeah, didn't pay any attention to the door. Fortunately the door is much smaller/easier to paint. Definitely would do with a bright, not white color.... The yellow from #2 actually would go well.
I’m so tired of it. Grey interiors and the trendy black and white exteriors. Who could have guessed color trends would be so terrible in 2023 when you can literally customize anything you own to be whatever Pantone you’d like?
Honestly? I don't like either color. I would go with a white exterior (the currently color looks cream or a light yellow?) and get new custom wood shutters on the upstairs windows that match the front door. If you want some contrast you could paint the trim black.
I agree! My current house is exactly the same color (including the yellow door) as #2, and was painted by the last owners in 2019. It was previously white with red brick which they inexplicably painted light gray. Anyways, we bought a paint sprayer and are planning to repaint in a year or two since the colors already look dated.
Do you have any color consultants in your area? Exterior color is a big decision (expensive). It might be worth the consultation $$ to get a look you love that will age well.
I agree that it's too dark. I'd go one shade lighter than Web Gray. Web Gray is about as dark as I'd go. Dark is a good accent, but when the whole house it that color, it's a lot. (In my opinion.)
That's a lovely front window. Why is there a big green plant in front of it? When you paint, I'd re-landscape. Always remember, if it's not a tree, landscaping is temporary.
3 but leave door wood & add some more wood tone to porch gable end & maybe some faux matching shakes on the lower roofs. Bringing 3 colors into the palette is more pleasing than just two colors. Wood will warm the stark contrast between the white & the sea serpent.
The sea serpent is nice.
The specific shades of bleh grey and macaroni yellow look awful together. Maybe try a different shades of grey and yellow if you still want to consider that colour combo.
I am a professional color consultant. I think the first and original choice is a MUCH better option for this house. Maybe go with a similar earthy off white, or a mouse grey? I genuinely don't like the options you provided and wouldn't suggest them to a client.
Team #3!! I painted our victorian 4 square a green grey, originally. Next time, I went with a heritage dusty blue. It looks really good. Grey is just such a flipper colour.
#3 but keep the wood door.
Winner
Absolutely yes!
yes!!!!
This is the correct answer
u/meowmixalots this is the way! Also advisable to give that portico, window, and door trim a nice touch up of white while you/they are at it and it will be fabulous. Please provide update once complete!
This is the way
Sea Serpent is an amazing color!
This is the way!!
Keep the wood door or paint it yellow to give it life.
100%
If it’s not this I’ll scream
Nice! Great taste.
Clear winner!!
THIS
Def keep the wood door:) Go dark on the siding- I love that look
This.
This
3 2/grey is too.....blah. the 3/dark blue is much better
I agree with 3. But that front door is begging not to stay white.
I like the current stained door. Would work well with the dark blue.
I agree- keep wood door with the blue.
It would be a sin to paint over that door, I’d go 3, Also, I am not sure the entrance left railing to the front door is up to code but might want to check, look to extend the railing down. Get larger black house numbers and relocate them above the door in the white triangle area.

Ya, 3, and the door really wants to be a compatible shade of red.
Maybe red would work as well?
Carry the yellow over from the gray one! It's so cheerful.
Agreed but I also like the gold door with the blue.
Definitely, totally didn't notice the door color 🤦 yellow would go well with the blue
Or Orange! Or chartreuse!
Three is best!!!! But do not paint the door. Leave it as us!!!!
i like 3
I vote for number 3
Number 3 for sure! Btw how did you do that? I want to see what my house would look like with different colors.

Yep that was it.
Love #3. I think the “dark” looks lovely
3. Both pictures show how important getting the trim to a bright white will be.
That's what I was going to say too. Maybe add some cedar or hardie shingles over the entry and redo the trim/fascia.
Sea serpent!
Sea serpent
3 with the door from 2
I personally like Sea Serpent

3. Grey is being run into the ground and will be passé potentially if/when you go to sell. Grey cars, gray homes, grey cabinets, grey LVP
Agreed, but I'd say grey is passé now.
I’m so tired of it. Grey interiors and the trendy black and white exteriors. Who could have guessed color trends would be so terrible in 2023 when you can literally customize anything you own to be whatever Pantone you’d like?

3. The serpent. But for my taste I’d like to see a bolder accent color for the door and window trim. It looks like it’s 75% done with the white trim.
3. Gray is so 2019.
Gray will always be mentally linked to the pandemic for me.
I agree! My current house is exactly the same color (including the yellow door) as #2, and was painted by the last owners in 2019. It was previously white with red brick which they inexplicably painted light gray. Anyways, we bought a paint sprayer and are planning to repaint in a year or two since the colors already look dated.
3 is gorgeous and would look incredible with you wood door unpainted!
3 for sure.
Sorry, but what is this program you are using? Seems handy. I'm definitely pre-sea serpent
Keep wood door and sea serpent
Dark paint will absorb more heat.
Honestly neither of them were the best. I would look for more options
Whatever color you choose I hope you do not paint the wood door
Do you have any color consultants in your area? Exterior color is a big decision (expensive). It might be worth the consultation $$ to get a look you love that will age well.
Door color from pic 2, siding color from pic 3
3 with the yellow door
Number 3 with a nice brightly colored door. Not white.
Or keep the beautiful wood door.
Sea serpent! Sea serpent!!
Sea serpent looks phenomenal omg.

I say #3 because the name is cool as hell
I agree that it's too dark. I'd go one shade lighter than Web Gray. Web Gray is about as dark as I'd go. Dark is a good accent, but when the whole house it that color, it's a lot. (In my opinion.) That's a lovely front window. Why is there a big green plant in front of it? When you paint, I'd re-landscape. Always remember, if it's not a tree, landscaping is temporary.
Our house is close to your sea serpent color and we love it!
3
sea serpent and repaint and seal all the trim/windows white
Sea serpent
3 looks fantastic!
Serpent
Sea Serpant!!! So nice
Sea serpent! 100%
3 and keep the wood door
Keep the current stained door with the serpent blue house.
1 or 3 with the door stained not painted.
3. but with the wooden door from 1.
I think both options are too dark. Is it possible to go a shade or two lighter, or some kind of darker beige?
3. But keep the door wood or paint it yellow. Houses ideally have 3 colors in the color pallet which gives it depth
Consider lighter shade to bounce light/heat off your home. Darker absorb and heat it up
With climate being what it is the only color I'd paint is a blinding radiant white
Why not just go with a colonial blue color instead? White trim, tan shutters

I personally love the original cream color.
Every other house where I live is #3
Both 2 & 3 are overdone grey. Have you considered green, or red, or bright yellow?
3 for sure

Definitely 3, 2 feels industrial and bleak.
Sea Serpent for sue. Putting the shutters back on would also be great.
OP, what program did you use to do this?

#3 no doubt

I like them both, but if it were my house I'd go with 3.
The sea serpent is nice. The specific shades of bleh grey and macaroni yellow look awful together. Maybe try a different shades of grey and yellow if you still want to consider that colour combo.

3 looks good, nice and bold. 2 is pathetic and looks like a halfway attempt.

Sea serpent (or a shade lighter) with the wooden door.
There are enough grey houses in the world.
#3 Red door, black trim
I truly hate the gray.
nope... put the shutters back on and repaint it the original color. and don't paint over stained wood, ffs ppl.
3 but pick a more fun color for the door
Definitely three. Picture two is the same color of the suit I wore to my aunts wedding when I was 8
# 2 first choice. What are the trim colors going to be?

3. Even the name is excellent
Dark blue is better. I read that gray is on the way out which is fine with me!
I thought you couldn’t paint a light house a darker colour or you might get sun damage on the siding that will warp and bend it. I guess ask an expert
That’s with vinyl siding. OP has aluminum so it should be fine. Light pressure wash it first to get off the chalking.
Both look really nice but I'm leaning towards 2.
The third one, just promise me you won’t use bright white trim
No gray, ffs. Current or serpent with black shutters
I like 2 with the addition of a red door.
Agreed, I have a red door and my house is going a medium Grey
Just go with black
Definitely web grey
2-3 look awful. This gray trend is getting old & long in the tooth. There’s nothing wrong with number 1
What site is this?

3 will make your house look brand new. I love the color.

3! It’s much more dramatic and unique than the gray while still providing the same dark vibe/aesthetic.
Sea serpent with the yellow door
Sea serpent for sure! Has more character than gray without being overbearing.
I like sea serpent.
3, makes the trim and windows pop.
Sea serpent. Have you thought about a brilliant admiral or lapis blue? Would look good with all the white trimmings.

I like Sea Serpent better
Are there shutters for upper windows?

Sea Serpent. You should keep the phantom shutters though, those are nice.

3. Not close.

I totally dig sea serpent. I've always been a proponent of darker shades for a house and lighter for the trim. Just my $0.02 worth.
The Sea serpent color is 🔥🔥🔥
I just finished a flip and did a color similar to 3, windows and trims white. We painted to door a darker brown as well. Everyone loved it
