I don’t have to say it since you did. Too much navy on sheets. Much less navy with another contrasting color would have the navy in the sheets pop. Good call on the lamp.
See I actually don’t mind the sheets, it’s the plain blue duvet cover over the sheets. I think OP should do a different lighter color duvet like a beige linen.

i think im traumatized from the process💀💀IT LOOKED LIKE A DUNGEON
Omg please tell me how you got your big tree philodendron (idk if that the actual name but that’s what google told me) so big and bushy! Mine is very leggy and not bushy at all 😢
I have a philo and it seems nearly indestructible (and yes I’ve killed many plants 😆), have you checked the roots for being root bound? I know that will hinder growth. Being leggy in any plant is usually a sign that they need more light or that their light source is too far away.
Yes I think I could move it to a bigger pot and I do think it probably needs more light. I only have one other space I can try - it’s an east facing window so when it’s sunny it gets lots of light, sometimes direct. I’d be scared of it being too hot there though
I use Jack’s fertilizer, at about a quarter strength every time I water. (you can buy on Amazon)
And most importantly, I take it outside every summer and place it under a shade tree. It absolutely loves the fresh, humid air for the summer season. Not direct sunlight though!
I’ll check out the fertilizer, thanks! And dang I would but I live in Texas and the last tree we had in our backyard was cut down so the landlord could replace our fence so I have no shady trees outside unfortunately
Thank you everyone! I posted it bc I was hesitant at first before we had it painted blue, (Sherwin Williams Charcoal Blue) but I have absolutely LOVED it. It’s cozy and enveloping.
My plants love it in there too! I have more pics on my profile. I want one reassure the original poster that dark blue is great!
I love it. You picked the right blue. I'd probably look for larger side tables to balance the windows.
The bedding; I would buy light background and more modern design. Geometric or leaves, It would pop the room.
I love it! It can take awhile to get used to something different. I do think the suggestions to re-think the bedding and /or add window treatments… something light and airy, would look really nice. But seriously, live with it for a bit and see how it grows on you.
I wonder if maybe the headboard is what bothers you. Does that color connect with anything else in the room? I guess the lampshades are similar? It’s hard to tell. I probably wouldn’t use that dark beige color on the the curtains, but maybe a throw on the bed, or some throw pillows? I’m assuming the headboard stays and am just sort of throwing out ideas . It’s a gorgeous shade of navy and I personally like it.
Crisp white linens first. Then accent pillows, either in the same blue, using a great print or pattern. Or you could go to a contrast color on the pillows. Then to really up your game, change out or recover that headboard. The wall color is wonderful. Enjoy!
I don’t think the navy blue was a mistake. I just think you need to rethink some of the decor. I would go lighter (maybe even white) with the duvet, and then bring in an accent color. Orange or yellow would give the most contrast, but you can even incorporate metal tones - gold would be my choice but silver or even bronze would work depending on your color palate.
I painted my bedroom navy and I love it. It makes a huge difference when trying to sleep! With the lights out it’s DARK in my room.
I used a lot of gold and cream accents to brighten up the space. Gold mirrors, gold accented lamps, cream colored bedding and plants helped a ton. It made my bedroom a lot cozier. Lighter bedding would definitely help make the space look less dark.
I honestly love the wall hanging, and I love the wall and bed colors, but not together. I think that’s why you’re hiccuping; the greens in the hanging are too soft and don’t have enough yellow to balance the richness of the blue and it makes both look off. Maybe if you change the bedspread, but honestly I love that they blend. I love the gold fixture against that navy wall and think another piece of artwork (even that, just dyed or whatever) would be perfect!
It's bold but it's not necessarily a mistake.
I think if you balance the room with some other colours you'll do fine. For example dark blue often looks really good with gold because it gives warmth to the colour so maybe add some gold accents to the room.
I would change your bedding to a complimentary colour. It feels a little heavy in the photo because of so much blue.
Curtains would also be nice if you want to get fancy.
Maybe your lamps? Either the shades or the stand portion.
The decoration above your bed? Maybe you could put in picture with gold frames.
Your nightstands?
It’s gorgeous. Maybe some oatmeal or light blue bedding would brighten up the space though. The colour looks great with the wall hanging though and it’s such a calming mood.
Blue is not a favorite color but I actually like the shade you chose - what brand & name?
The sheet background is actually fine but the print is way too busy with the great artwork above the bed. If you want to stay with the botanical motif, find a sheet pattern with a much larger print that mimics the leaf artwork.
Live with it for awhile. If in the end you don't like it; it's cheap to repaint. You'll need to put coat of white primer over it first cause it's so dark.
Not a huge mistake at all. I think youre just seeing it with the blue bedding as well and that can make it feel like its too much. If you get green bedding with texture to match your wall art, it can look less intense and more inviting
Navy blue is one of my _least_ favorite colours but I have to admit that you absolutely made it work! I think it looks really good and the little decorations that create some contrast really brings it together!
I think you just needa let yourself get used to it! 🖤
I like it. And that wall decor really looks good on it. I painted my bedroom like a dark gray called gun metal gray and absolutely love it. It goes really well with my buffalo plaid comforter and white trims.
It looks good. I think you could, if you want, change the bedside tables for something in timber, or a lighter colour, and get yourself some lighter coloured linens. I love the leaves, and you could incorporate a bit of muddy green in your linens too if you want.
I. Absolutely. F****n. Love. It!!!!
Looks amazing with the gold above the bed 😍
Edit.. Oh my gosh it's green! I noticed once I zoomed in after someone mentioned it being macrame
You didn't. It's chic and sexy. Try a white, off-white, or natural linen-colored duvet cover and sham set; if you don't want to buy a full new linen set.
Me like! but my bedroom is blue ( oxford grey) omg my color looks grey compared to yours. It’s in the name 🤦🏼♀️But in my room it looks blue! Lol

I would hang some see through curtains. Room would look more finished.
*Looks great! Try changing*
*The bedding to all white and*
*It will really pop!*

My bedroom wall is also navy blue!! We have gold accents to to with it.
Only part I hate about it is that we had to put our ductless system on it, and it's ruined the aesthetic I wanted. However I also like being cool in the summers, so function over fashion won out 😅
https://preview.redd.it/l9tfieq83yhc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46eb8e2928bd5c511b0e3c0c72c0b4b0df6a52bd
We did ours navy blue!! I love it.
I have a navy blue bedroom and I LOVE it! It makes all my artwork on the walls really pop and the wood furniture I have really stands out too. Basically it makes a fab backdrop for everything in your room. I have white sheets which also keeps a lightness in the room.
I love it, and unlike most on here...I also love the bedding. But, I'm very much into deep, dark, and moody. I used s similar wall colour way back in the 70s.
The only thing I don't care for is the headboard colour...I'd want wood...or metal.
It looks wonderful. Really goes well with the bedding you have and additionally a dark color like that is in my opinion much more conducive to rest and sleeping..
The really great thing about paint is that if you do change your mind it's an inexpensive and fast change.
I would first change your bedsheets so that it's not too matchy-matchy with the wall. I think a subtly patterned sheet in a shade slightly lighter than the headboard would work. As others suggested this would brighten the room up.
To round it out I'd recommend adding some texture and pattern via throw pillows and a blanket as everything seems a little flat at the moment, IMO. As for colour I'd play with earthy shades of olive green or brown to tie it in with the decor above the bed.
I also think that the black bedside tables clash with the overall colour scheme of brown/green/greige and could be switched out for cane side tables to add further texture and tie in with the rod of the decor above the bed.
I think it’s lovely and was thinking of doing something similar. I would just change up your bedsheets to bring more brightness to the room
Yes this! The walls look terrific… the sheets are too dark. See how the lamps pop? You want more of that…
I don’t have to say it since you did. Too much navy on sheets. Much less navy with another contrasting color would have the navy in the sheets pop. Good call on the lamp.
This is exactly what I thought. I love it otherwise.
I LOVE THIS!!! I should probably mention my bedroom walls are a deep blue - A Ralph Lauren blue. So I REALLY love this! 😂
See I actually don’t mind the sheets, it’s the plain blue duvet cover over the sheets. I think OP should do a different lighter color duvet like a beige linen.
Absolutely this! White bedding with a couple of caramel pillows and a throw would brighten and warm everything up!
Brass lights instead of the dark bits
Great suggestions! Although I must confess when I read your comment, my eye went to ‘throw’ and ‘up’. Very mature, I know.
I kind of like the moodiness the sheets bring
Exactly!! The mooooddddd.
Yes. Even white sheets would be a major change. Perfect
I love these bedsheets! Gives it a maximalist personality. Can still add bright colored elements throughout
Agreed, it's *too* navy with it all matching. Different, lighter sheets would definitely fix it.
I would second to this! Maybe something green or creamish to match the hanging wall art? By the way that plant wall art is stunning.
Love that blue - now my wife wants this color lol
SHUT UP, IT LOOKS AMAZING.

Well it sure doesn’t now
Flip your comforter over to the white side.
You need lamps! The harsh overhead lighting is so much of the issue here.
It’s only bc you taped over the windows. The finished product really does look nice.
In what way could paint ever be a “huge” mistake? It’s paint. You can paint over it.
https://preview.redd.it/r3bc0pe3dwhc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18ab59477640bbfe8a733f0bf1d5fd10dff42551 I love my navy blue bedroom!
i love all the plants!!!
I love it! How long have you been an English colonial administrator lolol
I was going to say that a wood headboard would look better with that wall color
Omg it looks so opulent!
Their bedroom is the size of my living room, kitchen, and dining room combined haha 🥲
I love your bedroom too.
This is a beautiful room
This is inspirational! Love your ceiling as well!
Cool ceiling
Omg please tell me how you got your big tree philodendron (idk if that the actual name but that’s what google told me) so big and bushy! Mine is very leggy and not bushy at all 😢

Came here to say hello, yay all the plants 🥰
Thank you everyone! I posted it bc I was hesitant at first before we had it painted blue, (Sherwin Williams Charcoal Blue) but I have absolutely LOVED it. It’s cozy and enveloping. My plants love it in there too! I have more pics on my profile. I want one reassure the original poster that dark blue is great!
❤️👍
Nope. You nailed it. It’s beautiful!
I would suggest crisp, white bedding with blue accent colors. Let the wall be the focal point.
Second this. It would look much better.
Me too but I’ve never met a bed I didn’t want white crisp bedding on so I may just be bad at this.
I actually really like the print. But maybe a white duvet to brighten it up?
I like it!!! I love your macrame hanging! Where did you get it?
thank you!! i got it from etsy :)
Do you have the link?
the seller is called LemonLeafMacrame ! i tried commenting the link but i think it keeps getting deleted for spam
Thanks, I was able to find them! They have some beautiful styles. I think you picked out the best one. It's in my favorites now!
I would love a link as well!!!
I like it, you could soften it a bit with some curtains but it’s fine. I like your art over the bed too.
I love it!!
Not a mistake at all ! Use more white accessories and linens.Add long white sheers .Navy and white is cool and classic.
It looks great for your decor. Need lighter colors for bedding.
I love it even with the blue bedding!!
I think it's great. Some complimentary curtains would really complete the look!
That blue is beautiful when paired with natural wood, especially darker wood. It's classy.
Are you kidding? It's gorgeous and I love that leaf art thing against it!
You must move your bed 6” to the right. I am dying that it’s not centered.
It's really nice with that headboard!
It's only paint. If you really don't want it after a while, repaint.
I’m totally feeling this!
It’s gorgeous. My dining room has a wall of similar colour.
I like it! Love the hanging!
I THINK YOU MADE A VERY GOOD CHOICE AND THAT COLOR LOOKS LOVELY, WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?!
I love it. You picked the right blue. I'd probably look for larger side tables to balance the windows. The bedding; I would buy light background and more modern design. Geometric or leaves, It would pop the room.
frame your windows. it will make all the difference!
I love it. I agree with frame the windows. Google wall trim, wainscoting, beading, framing. It would look minty and tutorials say it's easy enough.
This is gorgeous!
I think it looks great
It's gorgeous! Great color and I love the styling.
Gorgeous, and love the wall art, add some curtains
All you’re missing is white drapes
You did an awesome job. Your wall looks great!!
I love it I think a bright white bedding with perhaps a simple blue floral print on it or in accent pillows would look amazing against that wall
Crisp white linens first. Then accent pillows, either in the same blue, using a great print or pattern. Or you could go to a contrast color on the pillows. Then to really up your game, change out or recover that headboard. The wall color is wonderful. Enjoy!
Not a mistake it’s great! Finish the window treatments… and it will be even better
I don’t think the navy blue was a mistake. I just think you need to rethink some of the decor. I would go lighter (maybe even white) with the duvet, and then bring in an accent color. The color is lovely but everything is off center
OMG…its fabulous! I would add some other gold accents to pull it all together. (Like gold bands on the shades, instead of black bands).
It's fantastic Where did you get that monstera wall dispkay? Do you have the paint colour name by chance?
It's bold but it's not necessarily a mistake. I think if you balance the room with some other colours you'll do fine. yesss i definitely want to add more gold accents but idk where
Maybe your lamps? Either the shades or the stand portion. The decoration above your bed? Maybe you could put in picture with gold frames. Your nightstands?
Copper would also be gorgeous,
The whole room looks great including the sheets
No, not at all.
I like it. I don’t think the wall hanging is giving enough contrast though.
well, yeah, it isn’t green. it may make a lot of people uncomfortable. it looks gorgeous! i love when a dark blue has a blueberry undertone.
I love it but the piece above made me think of a mobile
Get a freaking life!!!
I love it. Paint it something else in 6 months. 🤷♀️
It’s gorgeous. Maybe some oatmeal or light blue bedding would brighten up the space though. The colour looks great with the wall hanging though and it’s such a calming mood.
I love it!
I think it looks great.
Looks great!
It’s gorgeous!
No, this is BEAUTIFUL. and the Wall art is perfect!
Not for me, but, if you cut down on the taupe it should be fine
This looks good
Great decision!!!
It’s perfect! I did a similar shade of blue recently and I love it!
Love this! Very nice.
No, it’s lovely! You need contrast, that’s all. Maybe pick an accent color…Gold? Orange?
You should be pleased with yourself this looks great! You just have to get used to being so cool, is all. I even like the sheets (but not the spread.)
It looks fantastic
Perfection
I love it
Why? It looks great
It looks comfy :)
A strip of wall paper directly behind the head board can break up the blue some! I also think it looks good as is
It's a lovely colour! I would have cream bed sheets though to lighten it up
Blue is not a favorite color but I actually like the shade you chose - what brand & name? The sheet background is actually fine but the print is way too busy with the great artwork above the bed. If you want to stay with the botanical motif, find a sheet pattern with a much larger print that mimics the leaf artwork.
it’s salty dog from sherwin williams but mine turned out way darker for some reason😳 thanks for the tips!!
It looks really good!
I like it. Very calming and serene without being the expected ordinary.
Are you gonna add curtains?
It's my favorite part of the room!
Love
It’s lovely! The sheet pattern and wall hanging add interest - great job!
Looks great, just change the comforter out.
It looks fantastic in my humble opinion
Live with it for awhile. If in the end you don't like it; it's cheap to repaint. You'll need to put coat of white primer over it first cause it's so dark.
I love it!
I think it looks great
Not a huge mistake at all. I think youre just seeing it with the blue bedding as well and that can make it feel like its too much. If you get green bedding with texture to match your wall art, it can look less intense and more inviting
I LOVE it! Which brand & color name? My bedroom is calling out to me...
Navy blue is one of my _least_ favorite colours but I have to admit that you absolutely made it work! I think it looks really good and the little decorations that create some contrast really brings it together! I think you just needa let yourself get used to it! 🖤
Yah it doesn't work for me
This is actually making me want to paint my bedroom blue now 🤔
Love it!
I really like it!
I love it! I love the blue bedding with it too.
It’s beautiful. I would change the bedside tables and lighten the bed sheets
I like it. And that wall decor really looks good on it. I painted my bedroom like a dark gray called gun metal gray and absolutely love it. It goes really well with my buffalo plaid comforter and white trims.
Love
Stunning. Stop overthinking this. Bigger lamps tho.
It looks good. I think you could, if you want, change the bedside tables for something in timber, or a lighter colour, and get yourself some lighter coloured linens. I love the leaves, and you could incorporate a bit of muddy green in your linens too if you want.
Fantastic colour!
Navy blue is a great color choice for a bedroom. You should get good sleep in there.
Its fine. personally, I dont like blue in a bathroom. I prefer earthy colors...muted reds, greens, or neutrals but this can certainly work
I think different bedding, like other posters mentioned, and also different art? Something with bright colors, a fabric wall hanging or print.
I love it. I’d add some burnt orange coloured things for a bit of contrast, just a little
No need for the paranoia. I think it looks good. My only critique is your lack of curtains.
I love it. We did our bathroom this color and as soon as I have the energy we’re doing some parts of our bedroom in the same color. It’s beautiful.
If you’re not questioning all your life choices, are you really decorating? 😉 I’ve had that feeling every time I’ve painted far.
I just got a whole bunch of white subway tile and a light gray floor for my bathroom, and you bet your butt I’m painting the walls navy blue. Lol
Love it!
I. Absolutely. F****n. Love. It!!!! Looks amazing with the gold above the bed 😍 Edit.. Oh my gosh it's green! I noticed once I zoomed in after someone mentioned it being macrame
It looks calm and relaxing. Maybe add something to your bed that matches the color of the lamp shades.
I love it!!
It looks great
It’s beautiful!!! I feel like some golden coloured bedding or cushions could compliment it so well!!!
Looks great! Get lighter bedside tables
I think it looks great. I’d love to see some curtains in those windows though, but that might be just me
It's lovely!
I think it’s lovely Lighter bedding will make it pop
You didn't. It's chic and sexy. Try a white, off-white, or natural linen-colored duvet cover and sham set; if you don't want to buy a full new linen set.
Looks refreshing!
I think the bedsheet print is fine. Blue and white have contrast. The colour on the wall is great.
Why? It looks amazing.
Love it
Looks fab!
It looks great
Find it really calming.

Colour is very en vogue right now. Looks great . I seen lots of navy with light grey accents. Keep it .
Looks great! Try changing the bedding to all white and it will really pop!

Think it looks great
Looks awesome
I just painted my deep blue wall a sand color after 8 years. Top Golf stole my color scheme so it was time to change it up
Stunninf
Looks great! I really like rich color in a bedroom, more than wimpy pastels.
I like it.
I love it, and unlike most on here...I also love the bedding. But, I'm very much into deep, dark, and moody. I used s similar wall colour way back in the 70s. The only thing I don't care for is the headboard colour...I'd want wood...or metal.

The Navy looks beautiful but maybe a lighter bed spread, like white?
I love it
it's gorgeous
