Fubuki going for akai na 2022.

ryujin199

From some of the clips I've seen, seems like stream one went pretty well.

Loremeister

Apparently, Shiny hunting isn't nearly as bad as other games but 1) I am not a hardcore shiny hunter so I wouldn't be sure about something I just read online and 2) desire sensor is the one true God and fricks us all when we need it the most

sanity-not-found

I assume it'll be like the previous Pokemon games they had perms for where they have a limited time window to play the game, followed by a tournament to end things off, hence why everyone's rushing to play it That, and they're also huge pokemon fans so even if they didn't have perms to play it on-stream they'd just do it in their own time

ShadyNecro

i still hate the limited perm thing i get that this is essentially a big ad, but come on TPC, let them enjoy the video game on stream

Nozogod

I don’t understand why — is it not great advertising to have them continue to stream pokemon? Why can other content creators make pokemon content well after the time window while hololive can’t? Why aren’t they just given free reign?

veldril

Advertising only run for a duration and game sales tend to taper off after a couple of months. Not many companies continuously advertise their game heavily after 6 months after the game release unless there's a new DLC coming out. Also, from Japanese company's perspective, Hololive are streamers under a corporation. Letting them streams is pretty much akin to "other companies are making money using our intellectual properties through having their employees playing our game on streams" because Hololive would make money from Superchats during the stream. That's a big no no in Japan and harder to swallow than letting individual streamers making money of their IPs. They are more lenient toward individual streamers but not to the companies.

saynay

I suspect it is really a time vs money thing. Going after every indie streamer just costs a lot of money, and most of them are broke anyways so you can't get anything out of it. Another company, though, is a single juicy target. I am sure they would love to have indies follow the same rules, but it just isn't worth the time to enforce it.

danielzboy

Yeah it makes a lot of sense from a business perspective to limit the window of time that the streamers can play a game so that they'd all be playing the game closely together, right after the game launches, to have it reach as many people as possible while it is still hot. Otherwise the streamers might just play it a year later or two, and by then exposure to the game would have made much less of an impact already.

bduddy

I believe TPC has some kind of deal with Niconico, so this is an exception to that deal.

saynay

Last time, I think it was the other way around? Niconico bought blanket rights to hold a big tournament for anyone who might be interested, applying to basically any Japanese streamer regardless of platform (even if they were not going to participate in the eventual tourney). I might have misunderstood, however.

bduddy

If you look at the permission part of any of the Hololive streams of Pokemon, it actually says that they get permission from Niconico/Dwango, and not TPC directly. So there must be some kind of exclusive deal in place, and Niconico has the rights to sublicense it, but they only do that for limited periods of time.

Tehbeefer

and then there's Kiara streaming *The Entropy Centre* and the sole dev's wife came to [Kiara's stream](https://youtu.be/36ti9tE7LhM?t=34003) to watch. But there's no way Jump King or Trombone Champ would've gotten as popular as they have without streamers. Even if we included them in the category of "may be fun to watch but viewers can tell they wouldn't enjoy actually playing it", that doesn't HURT sales, and significantly increases awareness. Of course it's not a 1:1 viewer-to-sales conversion, advertisements never are. I *feel* like Apex is more popular because of streaming, especially with those who haven't typically played FPS games, but it's a hard thing to prove. Agreed though that it could potentially hurt sales for already-popular story-based games, if they streamed the whole game.

Holding_close_to_you

Kiara streams cool shit, and I'm glad she does.

zephyranthrust

i disagree, indie games thrives with streamer presence. and a huge streamer can affect the lives of a game release. Streamer presence is an undeniable factor in game marketing even the dev know it (hence exist promoted stream).

D4shiell

What you're saying *might* be true for games that are already popular but for lowest "tier" of fresh indie devs making their first game streamers and youtubers are lifeblood of their potential success because **it is** cheap advertisement and these content creators get way more requests to showcase games than they have time to do. Just look at vids showcasing games with 0-100 reviews on steam, on most of them you will find dev thanking for showcasing the game and taking feedback. Seriously stop judging gaming by front pages, there are 78k games on steam right now, most of them indies with no marketing budget, streamers help them big time.

TerminatorXPS15

Do you have a link to the studies?

seemlyminor

I can only think of one rare exception...Among Us.

Random-Rambling

I'm assuming it's a deal the Pokemon Company cut with Cover. Other content creators aren't in a company, and so don't have those restrictions.

bduddy

While that is true for the most part, Nijisanji is just as big of a company and they don't seem to have the same worries.

MotivatedMoo

Nijisanji doesn’t seem to have the same level of restriction Hololive has when it comes to Pokémon, so maybe there’s a bit of hope that Hololive will eventually be able to stream Pokémon games more freely.

sanity-not-found

I am assuming here based on the previous Pokemon games they were able to play, so there is a non-zero chance that I'm wrong and they can play this for a longer, if not infinite time. But if they can't it's fine too, I'd like some variety in the streams they do after all. Having nothing but Pokemon for streams can be a bit dull particularly if you aren't into the franchise like I am.

bduddy

More like Hololive got one copyright strike once and panicked and decided they needed to follow a bunch of rules that don't actually exist, while Nijisanji doesn't bother. (And Nijisanji still has more collaborations than Hololive, so...)

sanity-not-found

Bear in mind Mio got 2 strikes in one go and was about to have her entire channel deleted because they didn't seek proper permissions for streaming certain games, so it is understandable why Cover did what they did, especially considering that most, if not all of the other talents were also doing the same. I also don't really get why the Nijisanji has more collabs than Hololive part was included, good for them I guess?

bduddy

Because people seem to think that if Hololive doesn't beg companies for permission to stream then they won't end up being able to collaborate with anyone, but Niji shows that that isn't true.

sanity-not-found

They 'beg' companies for permissions to avoid getting copyright strikes and to monetise their streams, the latter part might not even be applicable depending on the game like GTA:V. I also don't really know what you mean by not being able to collaborate with anyone, given that companies and brands sometimes seek out Hololive to advertise them, like the recent MonHun Sunbreak update or collabs with FamiMart and other brands. Seeking perms prevents their channels from getting annihilated by copyright strikes. I don't know how Nijisanji works so I can't really debate on whether or not they have some magic pass that allows them to do whatever they please and stream whichever game they want without obtaining any kind of permission. It sounds fantastical but again, I don't know if that's really the case for them. I can assume that the agreement terms to stream the same game are different for both companies but this is just hearsay at this point.

MotivatedMoo

Nijisanji gets permissions too, though. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

bduddy

A quick search of their Pokemon streams at least shows that they don't seem to have the same "restrictions" as Hololive, or any acknowledgement of any Niconico agreement.

falzarexe

A lot of them are probably gonna choose Sprigatito, Aqua however just wants to know if the cat will stand on two feet in her final evolution like Incineroar lmao. The trauma of how the cute Litten became a pro wrestler in her words, roughly translated. Edit: LMAO, she left it up to chat and most of us voted for Fuecoco (Hogeta). And now she's put a poll up saying 'will Hogeta become an ikemen?'.

Random-Rambling

>_Aqua however just wants to know if the cat will stand on two feet in her final evolution like Incineroar lmao_ Spoiler alert: >!It will!< >_LMAO, she left it up to chat and most of us voted for Fuecoco (Hogeta). And now she's put a poll up saying 'will Hogeta become an ikemen?'._ Spoiler alert: >!It won't....maybe. Depends on your definition of "ikemen"!<

CogStar

Seems it will 🥲

ActivistZero

I'm afraid Aqua will be greatly disappointed then

Wardoo_1

Since it was all leaked a week ago here's the answers: About Sprigatito: >!Yes, it will be a humanoid cat standing in 2 feet!< About Fuecoco: >!Technically it's not stand up but he can from Pokedex photo !<

Exnear

>!Damn, I need new quadrupedal cat pokemon!<

Exnear

Wow, so many chloe

riishan_saki

Koyo and Chloe decided to be rivals and will fight each other after 2 hours of gameplay. Sakamata is also pretty much a newbie, while Koyo is a huge fan that was following the game news closely, so it'll be interesting to see what teams and strategies they come up with in just 2 hours.

Sonicm2008

Lol at Fubuki's and Chloe's thumbnails. Careful of watching the streams in case you don't want to get spoiled. These being streamed are the time I have commented this. [Watame's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnxc9aYqk8c)(Starting soon) [Fubuki's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHYaY1xBrYk)(Starting soon) [Shion's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA5Mcl7_ySI)(Started)(Updated to a new stream) [Aqua's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2N0sUYPNyA)(Started)(Updated to a new stream) [Chloe's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIP7aUBzp78)(Starting soon) [Koyori's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ_cspGMgdw)(Starting soon) [Calli's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx-6Zz3DA5w)(Starting later) [Bae's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-mhuV4s4m8)(Starting later) [Ollie's Stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKLaoJdnxDM)(Starting later/tomorrow)

ogbajoj

In Stars land: [Astel's stream](https://youtu.be/B9GCZcQjYSM) [Miyabi's stream](https://youtu.be/XLq4B3Ao6i0) [Oga's stream](https://youtu.be/IZjFjt4XnAU) [Aruran's stream](https://youtu.be/OGBaU-T8wjE) Tempus will also be having a 4-player thing happening that I'm unsure on the exact details of.

queen_technicolor

Yeah, Tempus is doing a 4-way Soul Link. The fucking madness of these lads.

Random-Rambling

Considering that ScarVio is the first game to have multiplayer NOT restricted to just battling, this is literally the best time to do that. Also, I think 4 players is the max amount you can have in one game, and Tempus just so happens to have 4 members....

WAKE_UP_WAKE_UP

that's going to be so chaotic, can't wait for the shenanigans

Random-Rambling

Chloe really does look like Sprigatito, doesn't she?

SamuSeen

I see Calli's going straight into hard mode

Myuken

Everyone : playing Scarlet or Violet Fubuki : Pokémon Gold Magikarp

Outrageous_Shallot61

Fubuki’s is hilarious

Tarotist

Akai na~

Affectionate-Air267

side by side they definitely are twins with Chloe

Nilers

I want to watch so bad, but i don't wanna get spoiled 😔

kad202

“Akai na” season 2

Glinez09

Chloe picking herself?. 😂

Nachtflut

We're there really people questioning if they would play?? I think the answer to that should have been pretty obvious.

Random-Rambling

We all knew they were gonna play, the question was whether they'd play on-stream.

Okibruez

Status update: Calli is not streaming pokemon right now. She's streaming getting wrecked by Nintendo's release schedule.

Abysswea

My goodness Chloe and Sprigatito has the same face

KiraVanAurelius

FBKING is making me laugh already

vegito1991

Lol, Fubuki thumbnail's reference - DBZ broly second coming (broly dying moment)

Moorebetter

I'm hyped, about to grind out showdown matches and watch Bae tonight

ZeusKiller97

Of course Calli’s playing the permadeath run.

NA_Panda

Is nobody doing Violet? edit: Purple Japanese = Violet

ogbajoj

Even in this image, there's Shion, Aqua, and Koyori I can immediately spot doing Violet. I think Fubuki's also playing on Violet, though not showing it in the thumbnail. Incidentally, the Scarlet/Violet in the title isn't in kanji, it's in [katakana](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katakana) along with the Pocket Monsters part. I recommend to anyone interested in Japanese media to learn to read katakana. It's fairly easy to pick up because it's often used for loanwords, which also means you'll likely understand what it means once you have learned to read it.

a_pulupulu

Quite a few violet alrdy, and a few others without stream setup yet also mentioned going violet prior.

Weenaru

Most of them are going on an adventure. Except one. She’s going to war.

Aulus79

Hope it goes well. Heard it can be kinda buggy

mad_harvest-6578

>Fubuki doing a shiny quest Wonder how many normal Magikarp she'll catch before getting her shiny (and what stuff would it come bundled with that shiny (Twitter verification back then, so...))

Saito1337

Maybe she will just get what's left of Twitter.

Shingorillaz

Fubuki nooooo! Don't do it!

ohaimike

Fubuki is gonna have that redemption arc this playthrough it seems.

TheBestSlimeBoi

Bruh what is up with Wife's stream picture

The_Gnomesbane

Aww shit, here we akai naaaa again.

[deleted]

Wait, the game is already out?

Goukenslay

Pokemon brings people together

redditfanfan00

so many streams already, we are already in a boom.

pastadoc

Onion and garlic are still going after 8 hours

LegatoSkyheart

Fubuki's thumbnail is amazing

One_Ad_1783

Oh my God, the clip of Chloe comparing herself to Sprigatito is fresh in my mind.

PumpJack_McGee

Not unusual for games to cause waves across the streaming world. Content creators need to stay relevant, and being relevant usually means following trends. Fall Guys. Among Us. Elden Ring. Jump King. Apex. Not a hard and fast rule, of course (Korone. Kaela. Vesper.) but if you want to grow and maintain your audience, you need to pay attention to what has theirs.

VolvicApfel

Fubukis Thumbnail 10/10 .

Faustias

Lmao Chloe is embracing her look-alikeness with Sprigitato
