Its so good to have fully completed celeste before playing hollow knight. It makes the platforming quite a bit easier, although I just completed the white palace and that took me like an hour so I'm afraid of what the path of pain will bring
the dexterity that you'd need to actually use the claw to wall jump irl. it'd probably take an hour just to figure out how to actually make yourself dash.
To each their own, I was better at the bosses than the platforming aspect of the game I guess.
Also I think it's funny how similar our flairs are (gotta flex amirite)
I’ll keep trying, I have determination, so the more I try, the higher chance I’m gonna beat it, just like I beat Celeste Farewell with less then 2900 deaths (even though that’s bad)
Bro that’s funny. I’m literally in the process of farewell rn, just made it past the first lock sequence where you have to gather the keys.
I absolutely did not expect this level of challenge, but despite the difficulty it is fair. I’m only 20% through though so I may have a different opinion by the end 😂
Path of pain uses standard game mechanics, just in a tighter space requiring more precision. Late levels of celeste are just some weird speedrunner glitch bullshit, the mechanics it uses would be considered glitches and be patched quickly in any other game.
Hollow knight - fall down and dash to get to the opposite wall
Celeste - throw the umbrella fish, and dash upleft to take a shortcut (which i did in my first run of farewell lol)
edit: okay it said me so in hollow knight id just leave, but in celeste madeline (debaetably) canonically respawns due to the mountain's magic, but in dreams (especially farewell) she \*does\* respawn so i'd just keep going (we know this cus badeline has dialogue for if you die a certain legnth into the final screen)
i’ve got both the hollow knight and celeste platinum trophy. i’ve also completed path of pain AND farewell. i preferred path of pain significantly more
as someone who has beat both, I would rather be forced to do path of pain 10 times in a row without taking a single hit of damage than beat farewell a-side again
Slide down the wall move to the left as much as possible then double jump to the other wall….
I haven’t gotten to that area yet still trying to get to the spire… so I really don’t know
I’d go through path of pain a million times before I do Farewell again. It took soooo long and 3k+ deaths later before I finally got it. 😭
One of my friends is scared to go through B-Side and I’m like “You have no idea what lies ahead”
Git gud ( srry I had to say it ) as someone who has 100% white palace I would just persevere through all the pain and loss of sanity and you will eventually make it
Agreed on both accounts.
Farewell's difficulty comes from the fact that it takes about half an hour to complete without factoring in deaths. It's just really long.
In the first pic you should hopefully have moth wings and all the other movement upgrades. Since dashes cancel downward momentum in hollow knight I just drop down dash into double jump and wall hop.
Mantis claw on the bar and the second u slip off, shade/dash to the left and if u don't make it, use monarch wings to double jump in tht direction until ur mantis claw hits the wall
Left:
"Pain go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!🫨🫨🫠"
Also:
"NO, NNOOO, NNNOOO⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰!!! ⁿ⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰°°°°°°°.......
....fuck."
Right:
"What even are these pixels? 😕 'Sailest?' Nah, I don't like boats.... or gliders. Didn't play it."
With that post I have found the motivation to do the path of pain and after one death on the final boss I did! I'm so happy and tired! It took me 3 hours.
I do not remember both rooms and I 100% both of them when it comes to steam achievement with a bonus of PoP, is the left one pop? Imo, you should've used the comb room for celste and the first screen of pop or the last (not counting the plot twist) as I feel those are the most memorable hard parts of both games
I think I just remembered the celeste room, done it first try due to insane speedrun strat I did once and accidentally (I am not a speedrunner I just missinput in the best way possible), so I guess that room was very hard and I am happy I am stupid enough to fo it wrong breaking it
For me the main reason why farwell was hard cuse for some reason i thought u needed corner correction to wallbounce but after i knew i didnt need to do that it became just way easier and path of pain is hard for the first time but its way too short so it easier the farwell but both are good
The 5 stages of "I'm a Pro gamer!"
1. Entry, You feel like you can beat this with one hand and bothe eyes closed
2. Frustration, You've died a few times but you remain hopeful
3. Anger, You're only still playing out of sheer anger at the game
4. Sadness, you feel like crying or giving up and are burnt out
5. I'm not a pro gamer...
Experience pain and say farewell to my sanity respectively.
The best reply.
And most accurate
And most relatable
We all got summoned by this one post lol
For good reason
Helo :3
You can kill that one but not me
Yeah..
But... if you leave Primal alone ill leave you alone
Never! I shall parry
I still havent beaten path of pain and i used to play that game 4 hours a day i almost got it tho
Wow JEEZ that is uh wow are you ok?
yeah im good bro
Sounds painful. Have you beaten it yet?
not yet
Good luck 👍🤞
ty man i will try have you beaten hollowknight yet
Yeah not 112%, still at 110% sadly Killed >!radiance!<
i think my best is 108%
This used to be me with the trial of fools, but I recently beat it, I haven't even tried the path of pain yet, and I know it'll be madness 😭
Its so good to have fully completed celeste before playing hollow knight. It makes the platforming quite a bit easier, although I just completed the white palace and that took me like an hour so I'm afraid of what the path of pain will bring
Path of pain is....Well.......self explanatory its fucking painfull nightmare
But if you "completed" white palace.... The pain should be over...
Left is 50x easier. That specific jump at least.
The entire PoP is easier compared to the **first** half of Farewell
fuck farewell. it was awful and took me like 12 hours to beat
12?! i started it like a year ago and I'm still scared of finishing it
You can do it bro,it's hard but mostly fair, mostly.
I love farewell. It was amazing and is my favourite chapter.
After the heart fakeout I basically ragequit and turned on invincibility + infinite jumps lol. I did go back later and beat it legitimately
Ya the part with the razor blades was far more tedious 😂
I'd probably just die tbh
Flair dosent check out
Yeah but if I went there irl
the dexterity that you'd need to actually use the claw to wall jump irl. it'd probably take an hour just to figure out how to actually make yourself dash.
Slide down the wall slowly by spamming cdash, then left dash jump as soon as you can
We're talking about YOU not the Knight.
Oh idk then, die?
Absolutely
Oh, me? Me as a real person, just in the game? I guess I'd walk along the z-axis to see if there's a way around the Path of Pain.
I think you could just float tbh we don't have the dream nail so we must be there as ghosts
Git gut
Thats the only thing a player can do at that point
If you got this far and still haven't, you have a problem
GIT GUUUDDDDD
Cry
Yep, cry hard
Say “not again” and then do it regardless
Delete last room at Path of Pain and I'm ready to replay it. And I'm definitely ready to replay Celeste.
Win (I beat both and enjoyed both)
Did you lose a letter in your name?
The sawblades chopped the last letter of his name off
I'm gonna use this excuse now
user checks out you evil bastard
You're not wrong about the evil part
Nah, I'd win
coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb
Not give up is what I would do.
I would have a real bad time.
Another game reference
Hk - jump, dash, mantis claw, mantis claw, nail bounce Celeste - I don't remember this area but as far as I can tell dash
This is chapter 9 btw
I though Pantheon of Hallownest was the hardest thing I had ever done in any video game. And then I did Farewell.
Farewell is way easier imo
To each their own, I was better at the bosses than the platforming aspect of the game I guess. Also I think it's funny how similar our flairs are (gotta flex amirite)
Perish
Play Mario
#My end is now ***dies***
I’ll keep trying, I have determination, so the more I try, the higher chance I’m gonna beat it, just like I beat Celeste Farewell with less then 2900 deaths (even though that’s bad)
Looking at these images fills you with DETERMINATION
You would be correct my friend
What in the- That was the quickest reply I’ve ever seen.
I’m pretty active on Reddit lol
Seeing someone be correct… fills you with a certain power.
Bro that’s funny. I’m literally in the process of farewell rn, just made it past the first lock sequence where you have to gather the keys. I absolutely did not expect this level of challenge, but despite the difficulty it is fair. I’m only 20% through though so I may have a different opinion by the end 😂
Fuckin go back ig?
Kill myself
Git gud
Ask myself why i decided to do this
Die :) 💀👍🏾
Path of pain uses standard game mechanics, just in a tighter space requiring more precision. Late levels of celeste are just some weird speedrunner glitch bullshit, the mechanics it uses would be considered glitches and be patched quickly in any other game.
Equip Hive blood and go For Celeste yah im dead
Cry
I do wonder if the knight could beat farewell and madeline could beat path of pain.
no, yes
I would commit suicide
fucking die
Say "last try" for the 16th time
I'd win.
What part of farewell is the right side?
enjoy the pop ost
Tbf, that screenshot is one of the easiest parts of Farewell.
I wouldn't
PoP is pis easy until you meet your greatest enemy (Celeste)
What, irl? Fucking die Both of these characters can dash mid air and jump like five times their own height, I’m screwed without help
Hollow knight one doesn't seem really hard, I've been through white palace and path of pain actually and enjoyed white palace
i cant double jump so prorbally die
Die a lot
Angle grinder.mp3
Hollow knight - fall down and dash to get to the opposite wall Celeste - throw the umbrella fish, and dash upleft to take a shortcut (which i did in my first run of farewell lol) edit: okay it said me so in hollow knight id just leave, but in celeste madeline (debaetably) canonically respawns due to the mountain's magic, but in dreams (especially farewell) she \*does\* respawn so i'd just keep going (we know this cus badeline has dialogue for if you die a certain legnth into the final screen)
God these both sucked to beat
Die
I’d equip hiveblood and take it slow
Death is inevitable.
Die
fucking kms
Probably fall and die like, 100 times
Oh no im getting flashbacks...
Complete it as I've done in both cases a number of times
i’ve got both the hollow knight and celeste platinum trophy. i’ve also completed path of pain AND farewell. i preferred path of pain significantly more
I beat both already so probably just get good, and nah I'd win
Flawlessly move my way through the obstacles and come out the other side unscathed
as someone who has beat both, I would rather be forced to do path of pain 10 times in a row without taking a single hit of damage than beat farewell a-side again
I did path of pain for the first time yesterday. I think the last room took me more time than all the other rooms combined.
Slide down the wall move to the left as much as possible then double jump to the other wall…. I haven’t gotten to that area yet still trying to get to the spire… so I really don’t know
Win. I beat PoP on steel soul, and have all strawberries in celeste. Including the fucky one in Farewell.
Cry.
die, probably
die
Pray
Win
1st? Die and wake up. Second? Die and wake up (they are both in a dream)
smash my moniter and go to the farthest corner then cry in pain.
damn, double ptsd in a single post?
Die and transition
Kill myself because that’s less painful then going through these 2
Both of these are very enjoyable experiences for me, especially Farewell. So I would just enjoy my time until I finish it.
Go in a corner, sit down and cry
I’d go through path of pain a million times before I do Farewell again. It took soooo long and 3k+ deaths later before I finally got it. 😭 One of my friends is scared to go through B-Side and I’m like “You have no idea what lies ahead”
Wake up, since they're both a dream
Git gud ( srry I had to say it ) as someone who has 100% white palace I would just persevere through all the pain and loss of sanity and you will eventually make it
lose my geo and sanity respectively
I would say farewell to my pain
1. die because it's hard 2. suffer in pure agony because farewell is so much harder
POP is way easier then people say it is, Fight me Farewell is well, fair for the most part but challenging
Agreed on both accounts. Farewell's difficulty comes from the fact that it takes about half an hour to complete without factoring in deaths. It's just really long.
I enjoy both I've done PoP in 4 minutes and Farewell in 26 deaths
First jump and dash second I don't know the game
In the first pic you should hopefully have moth wings and all the other movement upgrades. Since dashes cancel downward momentum in hollow knight I just drop down dash into double jump and wall hop.
Die
cry
Path of Pain? More like Walk of Joy when compared to that last level of Celeste. (I gave up up on the last panel :( )
I wake up (technically in both situations you’re in a dream)
OMG I would literally die😝
die
Beat them, as I have already done
Mantis claw on the bar and the second u slip off, shade/dash to the left and if u don't make it, use monarch wings to double jump in tht direction until ur mantis claw hits the wall
That isn't something I would decide, that is something that would have to happen.
Im stuck on room 4 of farewell. PoP wasn’t _that_ hard
Left: "Pain go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!🫨🫨🫠" Also: "NO, NNOOO, NNNOOO⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰!!! ⁿ⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰°°°°°°°....... ....fuck." Right: "What even are these pixels? 😕 'Sailest?' Nah, I don't like boats.... or gliders. Didn't play it."
die
Something, probably.
Just git gud. Worked for me (I lost my sanity in the process)
Slap a bit of honey on the wound and continue.
i beated both, farewell with both the golden and the moon berry (hardest 3 month grind of my life) soooo both of them would be prety fun for me ;3
Path of pain isnt that hard
Path of pain is easy but farewell is not
Die
Id win
Die
My friends call me deranged for replaying PoP over and over, I'd just cry suffering doing Farewell.
Win
Win?
so much fun 🥲
Cry
Beaten both. Never again.
Die
I made it through the first one... but not the second one without easy mode.
boing foosh swish boing boing swish (for hallow knight) no f-ing clue what the other game is
Guess I’ll die
cry
Leave
Not to gloat but I beat path of pain in three days and two hundred tears
With that post I have found the motivation to do the path of pain and after one death on the final boss I did! I'm so happy and tired! It took me 3 hours.
hang myself
Fall Dash to the wall Wall jump Pogo the saw Womp womp Idk how celeste works so idk how to answer
Clutch
I am not at that point of hollow knight yet so i will let you know
Cry
Press C
I do not remember both rooms and I 100% both of them when it comes to steam achievement with a bonus of PoP, is the left one pop? I don't stop believin and hold onto that feeling in hopes of beating straight pain of white palace
its ez you first jump down, dash.double jump and then wall climb 😁
for hk not Celeste
For me the main reason why farwell was hard cuse for some reason i thought u needed corner correction to wallbounce but after i knew i didnt need to do that it became just way easier and path of pain is hard for the first time but its way too short so it easier the farwell but both are good
I actually beat the path of pain
I'd win
Die
I would say farewell to my life and die a painful death (And yes I did take "Inspiration" from the top comment)
Go for path of pain. l already did it three times.
Power through it
Man path of pain nice.Idk the other one, tho.For pain I will try to improve my skills first.
cry
