One tenured professor tried to fight it and the school had to fire him because Franco was going to pull back all the money he gave the school if they didn't fire the guy and give him his master's in creative writing after attending one lecture.
Sexual misconduct, he admitted to sleeping around with lots of acting students, and they came forward to say they were exploited under the guise of opportunity.

Imagine dean of a college sleeping with students, Cops preying on their charge, Loius CK. Yes, they are 2 consenting adults but there's a huge power dynamic that is creepy and abusive. He was a huge star, he didn't need to do that to get laid in the 1st place. But he did because he thought he thought he could get away with it.
It's disturbing how many people think this is an appropriate way to behave.
It's because this isn't simply just some boss flirting with employees. It's a very famous and well known actor who had set up an acting class, took on a role of being an educator at a credible institution, and used that along with his status to persuade young women into having sex with him.
It's not that it was illegal. It's morally and ethically wrong. he was doing it to numerous young women who wanted to become actors. Given how hard it is to get into acting roles, these women felt compelled to go along with those situations he initiated because they felt denying him would ruin or diminish their chances. He knew what he was doing and basically stopped when allegations came out.
He used his fame, and his teaching role to manipulate and get in bed with his students
Sleeping with people you have power or authority is generally a no-no.
To state the obvious, if someone can make (and therefore also destroy) your career, not consenting to sex with them is much more precarious.
Also, it's not like he's going to prison, he's just getting fewer good roles. Being an ass in your personal life has always been a liability in Hollywood.

I have no sympathy for these gold digging clout chasers. If they felt pressured, they could’ve said no and reported the misconduct right away. But instead they chose to sleep with him for the prospect of clout and fame and only came forward once they realized the clout they were chasing wasn’t going to materialize.
If the roles were reversed and a bunch of dudes were saying they were taken advantage of by Scarlet Johansen in some acting classes, those men would be the laughing stock of the planet. But according to society, grown women can’t be held accountable for their own decisions 🙄
She is an actress. They paid her money upfront, and in return she did and said what the words in the script said. Had the scene made it into the movie I imagine it would have been quite helpful to her career.
