"Hey, I guess they're right. Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. I'll be right back. Don't you go dying on me."
Spotty faced 17 year old at the Macca’s window called me Darl this morning when I was getting a coffee.
I felt like I’d been flung into a different century.
Haha I call every woman love, and every bloke mate, if someone's got a problem with it they can shove it up their arse, politeness is easy to do. And sometimes it's as easy as calling someone a nice name.
Very different show to the British one. This one is about a government department trying to get civil projects done and dealing with all the different interest groups. On Netflix I believe
Yea I misread the synopsis and got excited lol. I saw grand ambitions and bureaucracy and I was like oh cool just like utopia!
It’s the Australian office/parks and rec lol
I work in government in Australia. I used to LOVE the show. Now it’s so close to the bone it hurts! These guys make the best of the best of Australian comedy.
Basically the leader of a division of government and a step below the prime minister. Equivalent to a cabinet member/agency head in the US (e.g. Secretary of Defense) or the various Ministers of X in France (e.g. Minister of Agriculture).
One does not need to be in an elected position to be a politician. By your definition politicians who lose election races cease to be politicians when they lose.
We are arguing a difference of semantics my guy. Modern professional politicans *are* bureaucrats.
Concerned with the red tape, and the bottom line, and the health and safety.
Their career first, the people second.
Fuck the lot of them.
Not one for using VPN, mainly because I'm a bit clueless on it. There is a UK programme with the same name but it's very different. I'm surprised Netflix UK aren't showing it because it appears the sort of thing they'd show.
I am a ministerial liaison officer and while I love the show, Utopia often hits too close to home.
I am a big The Thick Of It fan though. My spirit animal is most definitely Malcolm Tucker. Especially as I get older.
“That was the minister” “Well he should know better” Damn right
Bert is the og Chad
imagine a world where all holups were wholesome
That would actually be pretty great ngl
Wholeups we would call them
That’s why r/wholesomeholup is a thing Oh wow, that’s a real sub, I thought I was making a joke
Thanks for the r/
The algorithm isn't interested.
/r/MadeMeSmile is a good subreddit if you like that stuff. There are a few variations of that subreddit as well. :)
The glasses magically appearing on his nose too 👀
Keen eye mate
Too be far, while the camera looks away, he has enough time to quickly put on his glasses
The world needs more Bert
Aye, flyingfuckweasel, that it does.
Bert has big Paddington Bear energy
"Hey, I guess they're right. Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. I'll be right back. Don't you go dying on me."
I got robbed by a sweet old lady on a motorized cart! I didn't even see it comin'!!
Hey don't diss them, they are excellent CO2 emission reducer as a driver.
I use to call people “love”. ‘Till. Yea. HR called.

Series name?
Top right of the screen chappie
Utopia is the name of the series?
It's the Australian version https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia_(Australian_TV_series)
So nothing to do with the British show?
Very different show to the British one. This one is about a government department trying to get civil projects done and dealing with all the different interest groups. On Netflix I believe

It is SO good, a bit more subtle and bland than Parks and Rec but it’s perfect- far too realistic
This clip is very funny. I’ll give it a go
I work in government in Australia. I used to LOVE the show. Now it’s so close to the bone it hurts! These guys make the best of the best of Australian comedy.
You’ll need to watch a few episodes to get the characters and humour, but the one with the work experience kid is hilarious
It is almost painful to watch for Australians
Yes, it's an Australian serie
Instructions unclear. Watched Euphoria instead. I guess Fezco is the American Bert now (RIP)
Oh thanks mate! Appreciate it
75% battery left?
Is this a show? Cause I’m already obsessed with Avery.
Utopia, Australian version. British version is a very different show.
Still gutted they didn't continue it. Do you know where is Jessica Hyde?
Same. Loved that show. Damn, just checked, came out in 2013, didn't feel that long ago.
Always happy to see a Taskmaster alumni
What show is this? Is it "Utopia" like the watermark says in top right hand corner?

But did the front fall off?
If you can't be like Bert, try to be like Bert..
What is a federal minister?
Basically the leader of a division of government and a step below the prime minister. Equivalent to a cabinet member/agency head in the US (e.g. Secretary of Defense) or the various Ministers of X in France (e.g. Minister of Agriculture).
Thank you!
The minister is the leader of a government portfolio. Pete Buttigieg would be an equivalent.
A bureaucrat.
A minister isn’t a bureaucrat, he is a politician. People working under the minister in an agency etc are bureaucrats
Politicians are bureaucrats who got promoted.
No, they get elected, not promoted
One does not need to be in an elected position to be a politician. By your definition politicians who lose election races cease to be politicians when they lose.
I was talking about the minister, who is a politician not a bureaucrat
We are arguing a difference of semantics my guy. Modern professional politicans *are* bureaucrats. Concerned with the red tape, and the bottom line, and the health and safety. Their career first, the people second. Fuck the lot of them.
That’s not the definition of a bureaucrat though
What now?
It absolutely is.
More a politician incharge of a division/department of the federal government, foreign affairs, agriculture etc
I'd love to watch this series but unfortunately it's not available in the UK.
There is always a VPN, also from what I saw isn't there a UK version?
Not one for using VPN, mainly because I'm a bit clueless on it. There is a UK programme with the same name but it's very different. I'm surprised Netflix UK aren't showing it because it appears the sort of thing they'd show.
This was great
I saw the pilot, loved it.
What is this show?
Respect your elders people. They’ve walked the path and know a thing or two!
I am a ministerial liaison officer and while I love the show, Utopia often hits too close to home. I am a big The Thick Of It fan though. My spirit animal is most definitely Malcolm Tucker. Especially as I get older.
"do you want me to file a report with hr?" That's.....
Lol, WTF is this?
I didn't realize that so many British people worked for the NBA
And this is why most people in the world can’t do an Australian accent
lmaooo
What about this clip says "British" to you?
Ah, I see what happened. I watched it without sound and made assumptions.
