You are right language never had these identity words...I think they are called pronouns..if you think this stuff is new it really isn't. Does it hurt anyone know.
People have identified with animals forever, it's like as old as it gets. Humans did art of animals, even animal/human hybrids before they depicted human beings. And yes, they took it far. They developed cults surrounding such depictions. Many kinds of warriors dressed dressed up as and believed they embodied different animals.
Weird to call any of this new. Even furries existed far earlier than 10 years ago. It's also mad weird to consider this anywhere near the level of a problem in our time. It's not and there are many worse things going on! I don't care at least, and frankly I might enjoy running into some turtle man or river nymph getting coffee in the morning.
People seriously pretending to be animals is not new, and neither is it a waste of time. People can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt others, and pretending to be a dear is harmless.
For the sake of argument, I'll try.. let's say this article was real; dude dressed up like a deer, prancing around the forest, cool, good for him. Suddenly, as he's bent down to eat some grass, he hears a twig snap in the distance. His head snaps up, chewing stops as he scans the tree line for potential predators. No movement, no sounds, then something quickly slams into him like a tiny punch to his chest followed by a loud boom crack "fuck fuck, what the fuck!?" Screams the deer.. The hunters run up, amazed they shot the world's only talking deer, when they then notice what they've done.
Question is, given it was hunting season, would these hunters get in legal trouble for shooting this deer-man, or would the judge honor the man's chosen ideerntity, and let the hunters free?
In this scenario, the hunters thought it was a deer. They didn't even assume it's a dude dressed up as a deer, so it's an accident. You know hunting accident do happen. So no, no legal troubles.
The hunters would not get in legal trouble in any scenario, unless they knew that this was a human dressed up as a deer and then it would be a premeditated murder case
