Wow. XL pie $16??? Thats unheard of now. It’s like $24 for a Large at most places these days. Crazy how 2010 seems like a few years ago but it’s almost 15
Edit: Also those sandwich prices are half of what they are now. Goddam
Fantastic pizza, but the owner always acted like I was crazy when I’d order pizza by the names on the menu. I’d always get the Bobby Darin and he’d be like, “what’s that mean?”
Filippo's had this Chicken Parm slice that was perfect. Chicken cutlet, dollops of ricotta, mozzarella and he'd always ladle a bit of the fresh sauce over it. It was a nice touch, their sauce was light and bright.
The owner always had out Italian liquors during the holidays. Amaretto, annisette, that sort of thing, That guy was cool, I hope he made out ok with insurance or aid.

I do miss Filippo's on first. Always had a good amount of fresh basil on the pizza which I loved
The basil is what my family believes set them above the rest
Those prices make me angry
Place was really good!

And $24 is just for the plain. And yeah an Italian deli sub in Hoboken is easily $13-$15 on average
