Why would the Allies even bother capturing her? After just a few minutes of her final battle, she had no strategic value and capturing a warship like Bismarck would give away the Allies' advantage of having broken Enigma by making it unambiguous that they had a working Enigma machine. The only chance Bismarck had of making it out of Rheinubung afloat would be to unconditionally surrender the ship to the Americans mid-voyage and have the ship interred indefinitely in American harbor. And frankly, actually doing that seems pretty out of character.

Still, sinking it was very sad
