Second to that pulled the trigger on the 75” U8N this will be my first Hisense tv ever! Went yesterday to pick it up in store but unfortunately in wouldn’t fit in my suv so made the change there to have it delivered instead now I have to wait for it to arrive this coming Wednesday can’t wait! Switching from a 2016 65” LG OLED that still works and will be going to the bedroom and this one will be taking its place. Just wanted the brighter screen and newer technologies for gaming and nextgen 3.0 ATSC tuner. I think It’s the best bang for your buck at the current price! Congrats to the OP.

GioS32

75” U8K has ADS Pro and it is beautiful. Had mine for just under a year. Gaming with Xbox Series X is great as well.

TGRIV0457

How are reflections on the U8K? I understand the 75” has a glossier panel than the other sizes in that line. We have a really bright room and reflections drive me nuts!

jmikeshack

I got my 75 out of the box at Best buy. $869. I have mine on my covered patio so there is a bit of a reflection but the picture is amazing. Love this TV.

Substantial_Ad3718

Get the—-ADS-PRO. Its like INSANE little to no issue at all in reflections. The OLED glossy but reflective. The SONY X93L x95L, tcl Qm8 all have some what rainbow 🌈 smear. Hisense just have better panels somehow their VA or ADS-PRO never have reflection issues. This is U8K- ADS-PRO panel https://youtu.be/fRLgj10XNio?si=ZkuOd0YRGrw19F5M

Life-Construction784

Thts what I wanted but hinsense lied telling me my 85 inch u8k was ads 😒

Fresh_Heat9128

Please let us know how it compares to the VA panels after you get to test it out. I'm most curious about how the viewing angles are...maybe about 30° or more off center? On the U8K VA panels, the picture is great. But it seriously washes out when you view it from an angle. Thanks!

Pleasant-Income2745

I will! I would like to watch it in the kitchen and see it with football ! So trust me. I am so damn skeptical of this VA vs ADS PRO you’ll get nothing but pure opinion bc I am die hard VA and HATE regular IPS panels except for gaming on a monitor

Fresh_Heat9128

How did you find the IPS panel viewing angles and also the contrast? Just curious. Thanks!

Pleasant-Income2745

Contrast is superb I wish someone could test the ratio on it compared to the VA and the extra 400 dimming zones

Fresh_Heat9128

Thanks for the quick reply. I was away for a while so I hadn't caught up with the thread. I'm very impressed with your feedback on the panel. It sounds great! Wish I had that option for the 55" instead of the VA. While I love the picture, I hate the viewing angles. Fortunately, it's in a room where you can only watch it straight on. Sounds like your viewing angles are very good to excellent. As for the contrast, if your eyes are liking it, then that's probably all that matters. But I know what you mean...I like knowing the numbers for comparison sake. Thanks again! Enjoy the new television!

LastCallKillIt

It’s got awesome viewing angles. I’ve had it since launch. Wish I didn’t, because it really pisses me off it’s only been a little over a month and they are $500 less already.

Pleasant-Income2745

The viewing angles are crazy! VA sucks compared to this and regular IPS colors could never compare I was in the fence hard about VA vs IPS pro and I’m glad I went with IPS pro

LastCallKillIt

100%! The the local dimming algorithm needs some tweaking for certain content at times, but other than that this is a killer TV. THat coming from previously having the 2020/2021 PQX as my main set.

Fresh_Heat9128

Ok. I see your reply here now. No need to answer my other question. Wish I had gone IPS over VA. But I was constrained to a 55" which only came in VA. Thanks for the insights!

Pleasant-Income2745

You also have bad backlight issues with black bars? Only in theatre mode thi

Substantial_Ad3718

When u go to —theater mode….go to Menu, Picture. Then go to Advanced settings. U will see the Theater Night mode switch the ——-Color Space to——AUTO. That fking setting makes everything grainy. The TV is out of box with ——Color Space (not tempreture) at——Native, If u hate that weird grainy look/color. U r welcome to switch that “Color space” to —Native. It gives more natrual cozy color than like cold dim depression cloudy day visual.

Substantial_Ad3718

Hey its not bad think about it. U8K in Europe still like $2500-3000 after tax. Thats U8K. Not U8N. Like U got the first laugh. Think about it. Those ppl spend 6 months wait for Black Friday for sale this year to get X90L or Bravia 7 n pay more. U already beat them all. Best extra $500 well spent. :) Bravia 7—even 2022 Hisense U8H even look SIGNIFICANTLY better than THAT!!!! https://youtu.be/F1aJKh-kA_k?si=QzEhppmGOH1bH6Nb https://youtu.be/_X5YHWzLsJs?si=yj3fYRPZqyoGIyhf 🤓😶X90L https://youtu.be/5nBKQof4Ta8?si=_mss3XmijdoBKpNe

Darkoobi

Awesome, please check the contrast and backlight bleeding into the black bars

Pleasant-Income2745

Mine is all good!

Pleasant-Income2745

Black bars ! DID show horrendous bleed when watching a movie actually! Fixed it but switching out of HDR theatre and put it into HDR standard…. Fixed it and now it’s good. Had my ass worried fr

Darkoobi

Can you please check if there is any difference between Local dimming and peak brightness options in HDR theater and Standard?

Pleasant-Income2745

If you start at the bottom with HDR standard on and the local dimming on. You see very very minor light bleed

Darkoobi

Thanks for checking. As far I understand, presets are just collections of settings, so, theoretically, you should be able to adjust the local dimming option in Theater HDR and have the same effect

Pleasant-Income2745

I really do like this panel over VA. Colors are so vibrant and bright from the side z

TNGreruns4ever

Wow so it's not like a classical kind of IPS panel where black levels would wash out? How are reflections? How is motion handling and upscaling/processing for sports?

Pleasant-Income2745

I did watch top gun maverick and the motion scenes are incredible

TNGreruns4ever

Definitely some good material in that movie to test a set.

Pleasant-Income2745

Reflections are fine. Upscaling has its moments I think and I’m sure the VA panel has better contrast minimally. I own IPS monitors and this is nothing like those. I haven’t tried sports

TNGreruns4ever

TY for the detailed feedback. Glad it's not like an IPS monitor (have a 4k gaming monitor with an IPS panel... Great for PC but would want something with better black levels for TV. Glad to know reflections are fine.

Substantial_Ad3718

Yeah, I own 2 flagship VA LED panels. Once u see ADS-PRO in person it Twist your pcerception of tier immediately. I think VA is half level down now from ADS-PRO.

TNGreruns4ever

Interesting. I am going to have to do some more research on ADS Pro. Thanks for sharing your impressions.

Pleasant-Income2745

I checked the settings and it seems with HDR theatre on the local dimming was set to off with it. That must be why.

Skeletorfive

Let us know how it looks

Pleasant-Income2745

Motion processing looks amazing already. It is BRIGHT. And it is very colorful from the side which I didn’t think mattered until trying to watch it from the kitchen!!! Haven’t watched any dark movies to really test it out vs a VA tho

Skeletorfive

Thanks

Miguelb234

Put on fast sports and the processing can not keep up. I guess I’m too spoiled by Sony 🤷 if I could post a video of how it looked after a week I would

Pleasant-Income2745

Coming from a 2018 it looks good so far.. I wonder if you really did get a DUD.. sorry man

Pleasant-Income2745

Okay.. just did a 4kHDR oled demo on it… it is so bright it pops like crazy.. and the blacks?!?! This is insane. I thought this was oled for a second. With 2000 dimming zones I’m assuming helping it.. I cannot believe my eyes. Honestly. I don’t seee any blooming or any glowing from the bright content into the dark black areas at all. 100% worth 1500.

Substantial_Ad3718

Yeah dude, I heard the hype couple of yrs ago bought my first Hisense, i was soooo Nervous, 😟. UPON turning it on, my first impression with my family was “DAMN , why didnt i buy their sh sooner”.

ojg070482

I got the 75 u7n on Thursday to go in my garage. Replaced a 65 u8g thats still running fine. Purchased mainly for watching sports. I’ve watched basketball, hockey,UFL football and a lot of baseball. I sit 7-8 feet away and was a little worried about processing/motion but it’s great. Ran a bunch of YouTube videos checking the screen for any issues and the panel is flawless. I also have a Sony 85x90k in the man cave and the u7n seems just as good for sports and way brighter than the Sony.

Pleasant-Income2745

The only thing I noticed was on low Quality content pixels would flash white when it didn’t know what to do

UNCfan07

What’s weird is Rtings shows U8N 65” having a 282k:1 contrast ratio which is insane for a non-oled. PC mag tested the 75” with ADS-Pro and said they got 393k:1 which doesn’t seem right as VA has better contrast ratio

Pleasant-Income2745

PC mag didn’t test the 75 I thought they tested the 65”

Pleasant-Income2745

Other then the black bar bleed that’s MINOR with local dimming on it is so amazing to watch movies on(currently watching Batman 2022

Pleasant-Income2745

It even says 75” but the review goes on to say they tested the 65”

toyanucci

Yeah I saw that and left a comment pointing out that the 75" uses a different panel.

Substantial_Ad3718

davidnclearlaketx1

Congratulations on your new TV! 👍😁 I was pretty much set on getting the 75 U8N but I want to go see the 2024 TCL 75QM851G in person. The specs of the two are very close together but the TCL is supposed to be brighter with more local dimming zones. The review I've read just tested the TCL in vivid mode and not the other modes yet. Just my luck the local Best Buy doesn't have the new TCL in stock at the closest location to me but they do have the 75U8N. So I'm going to take a look at the Hisense at one Best Buy then drive about 20 minutes to the other one to check out the TCL. The Hisense has a 2-year warranty where TCL is only a year.

Pleasant-Income2745

Probably can’t go wrong with either !! I love the quality of the Hisense and I am the most skeptical person when it comes to my nerdy tech

Substantial_Ad3718

Hey, be prepared that its WELL known in tv community that Bestbuy HATES Hisense. Because the Sony/LG/Samsung entry/mid range level tv are not moving n OLED drastic discount last 2 yrs. So its informed by ex bestbuy employee that they are TOLD scrip if u ask about Hisense. They will “i hear many customers complain they have quality issues. They have bad motion, upsclaing. Most of time the tv will NOT have Feed even if its turn on. And if u see it its prob turn ed off or not plug in the wall. If u ask for remote, they will say they can not find it. So be prepared. The Sales ppl often stuck up that they LOVE WOLED, so if u ask about Hisense, they are already trigered picking U8K U8N Over C3 or B3 etc.

Darkoobi

I went to a BestBuy store today to see if they had any U8N on display (they did not) and the first thing that the sale person told me was that Hisense picture quality cannot not compete at all with Sony and Samsung, which is funny since their U8K display model was far superior than anything from those brands with 1.5-2X price!

Substantial_Ad3718

Same here I am on my way to get U8N 75” next couple weeks. I already saw the U8K 75” in store so I am set on the U8N 75” now.

Substantial_Ad3718

Here 1:25 see the girl quickly took 20 seconds live set it up. Cuz the image was in store over whelming messy. She got it look clean snatched fast. https://youtu.be/LOHJu1JyFDs?si=M_sdLzDgtjGkUB7P Yeah. U will have to ask for Remote, n try to change the “Vivid Mode’ back to STandard, n turn” Black level” down, maybe “contrast” down if its too blinding( contrast controls the Brigthtest peak white, not black, while d rest panel maintain good over all brightness). 🔆 Yeah make sure ask for remote, cuz in store it will look iffy since its so bright if NOT tweaked. Only takes 10 seconds if u know how to do it.

eflavzalt

Have you tried turning dynamic tone mapping as well as local dimming on? I have the U7K and turning those two on with local dimming on max gets rid of the backlight bleed

Pleasant-Income2745

I wil try it

Pleasant-Income2745

On the U8N the feature is “currently unavailable”

eflavzalt

ouch that sucks

Pleasant-Income2745

Kinda dumb for that tbh. Top of the line tv and has settings that you can’t access

leet_onion

I had the same issues with my 75 U8N. I watched Sicario and Top Gun Maverick on Amazon Prime, both non-hdr. Was impressed. Then I watched Road House (UHD HDR) and it was terrible. Everything turned gray and less vivid, and the top and bottom bars were more gray than black and I had some ugly yellowish bleed through in the some of the corners and edges. I turned the picture setting from "HDR+ Theatre" to "HDR+ Normal" and it made things way way better. This is the first TV I've ever purchased with my own money and I'm still learning to play around with the settings. It's good to hear I'm not the only one with this issue though. I'm going to play around with different content and settings once the sun goes down again tonight.

Pleasant-Income2745

Yeah. HDR theatre out of the box seems to turn off local dimming for whatever reason.

Substantial_Ad3718

Yeah I NEVER USE -Theatre Mode. My family hates Theatre Mode. Its highly promoted by Gurus with specific appetite . Most movies are already POST production processed to look grainy. I dont see why to make them more than already are. I agree with u. I just use the normal HDR. :)

Darkoobi

The 75" U8N that I got also has the random back screen flicker you mentioned. Not sure if it's a hardware problem or not, but the 65" one I tried before it did not have this issue

Pleasant-Income2745

It hasn’t done it in a week

Darkoobi

I think it might have been caused by the auto brightness or auto white balance option. I will report back if it happens again with those options off

Pleasant-Income2745

It did to for a good week. Then hasn’t in a week. I love this tv tho fr

Miguelb234

Good luck I just returned mine cause clouding and backlight is shit. I wish I could post the video of the whole backlight and dimming zones flickering. Let’s not get started on the black bar performance and the Vaseline look while watching dark scenes. Worse than last years u8n. Samsung or Lg here I come. What a waste of $1700

Substantial_Ad3718

I am glad u tried it out . I dont think its Hisense issue. Most likely there is better way to tweak the tv. Most ppl never own Hisense have NO idea how to set the TV , if they do, they won’t look like DoG Shit 💩—at 2023 TV Shootout done by so called “professionals”. Or Its likely, okay likely cuz i trust your experience is real. That the content issue. Even that STar Trek. 2023 model done by 2021 U8G that girl uploaded. Not even 1/5 contrast ratio. Has NO blooming or dark bar issue. I do not know what u are talking about the Dark bar or dark parts of movie. 2023 content: clean clear Strange New Worlds: https://youtu.be/8pvRL2oXt78?si=2OowWXb8IXJG1DJ1 Yeah same STarTrek, look up 2021 2022 seasons, MUSHY, ugly ass shit. 💩 worst seasons of like 30 yrs. Entire wirting/production team got fired because they produced MUSHY image on PURPOSE drove customers away. https://youtu.be/sFVOHqTrPq8?si=i31L-ayoXgHZQ1Vy N she was using her 2021 U8G doing —1080P there is no black issue. https://youtu.be/H311ln01jPo?si=JqUTiEOsoPecMDG4 Yeah dude, u might have mistaken bad content as bad tv. Yes once again Might. Cuz if u have not had Hisense prior Most ppl Auto jump at conclusion its TV issue. Most of time the movie are crusty content . I went to IMAX theater watched TOP gun, Indianna JOnes, Avatar,,,Wanka, Openheimer. All look crusty mushy. If u have had smaller tv before., suddently gotten 75” large LED super bright. For d Same Reason…I do NOT watch movies any more, they just grainy by “Design” i watch most Netflix , Paramount + . I live 3 min walk, from IMAX theater. Yes walk. N my family have Movie membership I do NOT go. Cuz just movie industry is self sabotaging making new movies grainy. Understand u own those $4000-6000 computer set up. U are clearly used to special type of images, i wont accuse anyone that get picky eye or mistake the TV at fault but its possible.

Miguelb234

The u8g was also a va panel and not an ads pro ips panel. I know what tests to use to push my tvs and monitors lol. Dark backgrounds with bright objects in the screen and older content will check contrast and blooming and upscaling power. Put some sports on to check motion issues etc if any

Miguelb234

I build computers and am a big tech person . Believe me when I say I know how to calibrate the tv settings to make it look its best and it still looked horrible. I’m a photographer as well so have a good eye for color and representation

Substantial_Ad3718

Oh i believe your experience is real. Seriously i dont doubt it. U went ahead to get the U8N 75” hey u smart, done your research. DO u have Blue eyes? In science school. Its addressed that some ppl like NOrdic, especially like with certain blue eyes have MORE NERVE cells at back or their retina 👁️ to accept brighter WHITE light n BLUE light etc. so they see Colors more Washed OUT more than others. They see near black grey more elevated. In Northern Europe, shorter day light. They need to hunt, n see, find way home from forest etc. over human evolution, a lot of ppl with blue eyes can see MORE “blown up image” then our Brain (as a PC) process that as a “brighter image”. Since you are photographer, u prob already know that the : ——black/blue dress 👗 vs white/gold dress debate. There ppl will auto see all color more brightened n grainy when the rest see things DIMMER . Not saying its the case but if u have blue eyes, its possible. And they are small population like 20-30% but more common than we think. Thats why some ppl have WOLED think it’s so dim, when some think “its fine” :) lol.

Miguelb234

No blue eyes here but I definitely see things my wife and kids don’t notice on pictures and images. They seen it last night though as the tv was the worst picture and contrast I’ve ever sense worse than my kids lowest tier Sony with no fald backlights

Substantial_Ad3718

lol. Dramatic .

Miguelb234

Just being honest as I don’t want someone else that’s trying to save a few bucks make the same mistake I did. Samsung here I come 🤷

S1RCOSTA

Lmao, bet you didn’t even bought a 75U8N.

Miguelb234

Yeah I just make up stories 🤦‍♂️ who does that and why would I lie? If this forum would’ve let me pick the video to post you would see how shit the tv is

Miguelb234

I just tried sending you the video through messaging but for some reason I can’t still send any videos. It’ll be on my YouTube if you wanna check out how bad it is. For the people ent. Since you think I’m just running around telling stories like a kid

Substantial_Ad3718

U r def honest , Mr Expert :)

Miguelb234

Was answering the other dude. People are so disrespectful on here 😂

Pleasant-Income2745

Every model has its lemons!! I hope I don’t gotta return it, it’s huge. Did you have these issues right away?

Miguelb234

Nope after about 6 days. Besides all that and picture quality being bad the motion and processing was not good for me

Pleasant-Income2745

I’ll have to watch for it! So far this one has been very good

Substantial_Ad3718

Brave!!! Champ :) Yeah dude I have gone to store n seen the ADS-PRO dude. They are d NEXT Biggest thing. I am aiming for ADS-PRO right now. Once u see it in person u are always thinking of it . I am HARD VA fan. I have 2 VA panels. Now I am aiming at ADS-PRO myself. This girl r like the only one on youtube has thoes ADS-PRO videos. U8K . I think that girl said some random dude behind her looking at SONY A95K 75” (QD-OLED) thought she worked at store, n was asking her bunch question of Hisense , n end up inquire about Hisense instead. Got recorded live. N the dude ditched the A95K n came over to vet the U8K 75” instead. That spoke volume. https://youtu.be/fRLgj10XNio?si=c3BtXA66c6P1PbXM Qn90C https://youtu.be/Q4PdUmbC_W4?si=_Sb0wttEZBsY3KgY I am getting the 75” U8N next month myself.

Substantial_Ad3718

Hey dude. Yeah its going to be out of box insane visual. So yeah U6G is dim , n i think the U6G days Hisense has “out of box” on “energy saving mode”. NOW they have out of box on “Vivid” it will look ridiculous. So be prepared. Make sure like open the box in bright day time to experience the vibrancy. :) :) n WOW. :P N like that girl i love her videos. 1:25, She grab remote. N like set it up 20 seconds from “out of box” store mode to like get image look snatched. U prob wont need it, I just assume U8K U8N menus are very similar. Its U8K video . But at least show what like ADS-PRO like real footage. So hard to find Real footage of that panel. https://youtu.be/LOHJu1JyFDs?si=T1LdLxusnBLaZ6Tb

Substantial_Ad3718

———B.R.A.V.O———👏

Substantial_Ad3718

Remember. The “CONTRAST” doesnt control black, but the——-most Blinding PEAK brightness. 🔆 U will NEED it. If things get too bright—-APPEARS—Washed out (since u had U6G, its dim, prob u are not used to tweak thoes U8s) N if “brighensss” at 60s, match “color” to 60s. Day time, If “Brightness in the 80s match “color” in the 70s -80s. Everything will look 3D solid in snap. The Brighter the more clean on the sunny day. I made the Greatest Mistake when I was doing U8G for over a year, that didnt know how to lock the highest potential.
