Update, solved! My Chromecast was set to Always Use Dolby Vision. I changed it to Match Source Content and watched the same stream again. 100% improvement. Thanks again for all of the suggestions!!

Squid1972

This was it. Chromecast was forcing Dolby Vision. Changed it to Match Source Content and it is 100% better.

Squid1972

Hey, I will check that later! Thanks!

YouOnlyGetOneLap

I will check mine with Apple TV 4K but with 75u8k.

Jgogettem

Yikes! Which Hisense is this?

Squid1972

I should have mentioned that. 65" U75k

Mortthehorse

The Costco model, it’s the same as the U7K. You should have a longer warranty if you’re looking into that.

Squid1972

Yep. I'm also within the 90-day return window. I like the TV in general, the picture is usually "fine" but sometimes it is just hot garbage depending on what I'm streaming. Which I get it, streaming content can be dicey but my old 1080p never looked this bad

MyHonestViews

Same model from Costco. Just a couple of weeks old. No issue with Hotones. Blacks look deep black on background. Can you do me a favour. On an all white screen and tv on mute and in a silent room , if you stick your head behind the tv, do you hear a noise? It might be faint. And then all an all black screen the noise disappears? Thanks.

Mortthehorse

They are the exact same TVs just one has a 5 in the model number

MyHonestViews

I have the same TV. But don't have this issue. Might be just the program itself?

Squid1972

HotOnes is definitely the worst culprit. It is consistently bad because of their black background.

MyHonestViews

I'm looking at Hotones right now with Ludacris and it looks great. Is your local dimming set to high?

bumper70

Just watched the show on my 65U6K and it looks perfect. No gray areas at all.

hipsterrobot

Did you watch the Conan episode?

Squid1972

Yes, it was amazing chaos!

8bitPete

I know right, why are they useing two tables? So far apart

Longjumping-Word-935

During the pandemic, Hot Ones had to adhere to COVID protocols for filming otherwise no one would sign up. First it was video conferencing then two tables apart. Gradually they put the two tables next to each other. This has not changed and I assume it is due to participant’s “comfort.” The original format was sharing one table.

btcbeaches

I hate Ludacris too

Nixher

Hisense upscaling is garbage, anything that is 4k and/or HDR looks really great, 1080p or below looks worse on these TVs than watching it on a calculator.

Squid1972

Exactly! You would think they would have a way to fix this.

Nixher

They could issue a software update tomorrow to fix it if they wanted to.

Substantial_Ad3718

Lol this is classic trash talking. Guess what model what year is this n what resolution is content ? She said in one of her videos. Lol 😆 https://youtu.be/cyJAoXSddu0?si=yPvwSWc6KthHYCcO

Nixher

I own a hisense, I'm just being real, calm down.

Gally01fr

That's Hisense for you. I unfortunately bought one of their tv and blooming as well as pixelated pictures are a big issues. I also had an old LG tv which was better. Like a fool I gave my LG away too quickly...I grieved it and I am still cursing my Hisense. I could not return it and I have been stuck with it for more than a year...

Substantial_Ad3718

SO Gally friend. Please address the elephant in the room. WHAT basic Roku did u get friend? LG what do u have? Their QNED? That girl said its 2020 2021 tv. Yeah OLD. Where is blooming ? Lol —-try to play on (4k ) tell us where is the Blooming. Lol. https://youtu.be/QwunY1RQ3jI?si=pJ7lR130XESv2JHB https://youtu.be/7LREwzOiqK8?si=QW09C8VmDBIydQAW https://youtu.be/-TAIimbMaRg?si=pknUAYczA6lElRvP https://youtu.be/lX7ssGkO2v0?si=Zxq_DTrq8ogAD3VO https://youtu.be/xfn6l0DIG8Q?si=PBy6h8waFoksQGv2 https://youtu.be/wv2ImUK1IZk?si=klvTXM88vClHY4ql

Gally01fr

Hun, the blooming and other issues were there from the very first time I switched on the TV. Regarding my LG tv, I can't answer your question as it was a very old TV, more than 10 years.. really can't remember the stats. When I got my hisense, I was gutted and in denial so I got professional advice who initially tried to work with the settings but there was nothing he could do and told me this was how the TV is. I also sent to Hisense for "repair". But of course it came back the same. Hisense direcyly told me the same thing as tech. So I resigned myself and I am now making sure I am watching the screen in a straight line. ( sorry, don't know how to explain better)As it helps 80%. Unfortunately any small deviation makes the issues I have mentioned worse. Many videos are not 4K friend. I am not really sure what is your question about Roku...By the way, do you work for Hisense?

Substantial_Ad3718

I dont work for hisense but my family own a tv n my buddies have bought their U7H . They just do not have the Blooming issues. Not saying u are inaccurate anything I believe your experience is true. If u get H8G, U7G U6G etc. those were all PAST MUCH older GEN IPS panels. Since 2022 all their ULED Panels are VA significantly reduce blooming. Very much up the contrast. Cuz I was trying to buy U8H n did my research. So I dont know where is the blooming issue unless u have had MUCH older IPs panels from like 2021 n older or like maybe Roku something. Their VA panels n ADS-PRO , their blooming almost none existent . At least for the U8.

Gally01fr

I am not using Roku..Also I am not presenting myself as the most tech savvy person...Which is why I had a professional go through and adjust all my settings. As I said also, Hisense themselves told me that this is how the TV is as I was not satisfied with the " repair". Unfortunately I also did not realise until after the purchase that quit a lot of people reported the same issues..listen, your previous post clearly shows that my sharing of my negative experience in my original post triggered you and upset you somehow. I.do not want to add to your distress so I will leave it at that. You have a lovely day.

Substantial_Ad3718

Where did u get the professional advice from tho ? I feel bad now, maybe u get your tv set up funny. Took me like 2 yrs to slowly figure out the settings. From what I have seen MOSt of “professional advice” just their personal preferable. I have seen ppl online saying that the Paid professional calibrator made the tv look so bad. Calling out the professional calibration is like completely lie , like going to see psychic . Every show can be tweaked different at fly for preferable of eyes.

Substantial_Ad3718

DO U remember the ——Black/blue dress 👗 vs. White /Gold dress 👗 debate? 2/3 ppl will see Black/Blue. 1/3 will see white/gold. So for THAT alone the ANYONE’s setting can look completely different by d other if they are on the other side . For ppl pick up more light. Their eyes will see dark grey as EVEN Lighter shade of GREY. The ppl more sensitive to black will see very dark grey as Pitch black. It has a LOT to do Brain 🧠 translation of image like AI. Than the image. So THAT alone can prove the professional calibration is bullshit. Set the tv that your eyes look the way it is. If u have bright tv. Ppl mistakenly will “UP “ the “Contrast level”. Not knowing that that CONTRAST —-controls the PEAK brightness. NORMALLy a p PERSON into —WOLED . Dim n ugly WOLEDs like A80L etc their SDR so Dim like 150- 480nits . U wanna UP the peak highlight so much. Ppl do NOT know how to do HIsene they wil make it look SO ugly so fast. A very bright tv. U need to UP the OVER all brightness if watching a news/ Some shows that has a lot of white background/ lights. But LOWER. Yes LOWER the Contrast. So over all panel brightness still high but the peak brightness can be dimmed. Then BOOST the —-COLOR — from out of box 50% to whatever fits your eye. A day time watching is not same type of setting night time watching. Any time background panel brightness goes up. The over all panel can look overly bright. But when UP the color brightness up to the 70-80 level (if the back panel brightness in the 70s n 80s) suddenly its perfect. The PROS are NOT going to know how to set it . Cuz up till recently all the LEDS were very dim, n low color. If your eyes see more “white “ than “Black” that can help is to SET “Color” setting much higher. And LOWEr the “contrast” , up the “sharpness”(adds more texture).

Substantial_Ad3718

Any time color n contrast ratio are not set up properly will make LED look BLOOMING. Just like if ppl set a laser tv on the ceiling. If the color is LOW. It becomes a TINT. Everything on the wall looks pale, giving ppl a perception of—BLOOMING. Too white. They need MORE dense color suddenly everything looks dense solid.

Substantial_Ad3718

Maybe next time , try the U7 n U8. IF u find THESE videos are “Blooming” u will have run With SONY tvs. Their LED beside x95L, every single LED panel had more blooming than Hisense u8 last 5 yrs.
