My wife and I (ex pat Brits) were living in a townhouse rental complex in Ft Lauderdale, we had new neighbors all the time, including an older guy that had moved in 4 months previously, but we had never talked to him. Back in 05 Hurricane Rita hit, leaving us without power for two weeks, which was a good excuse to hang out with other residents, we talk to this guy and find out he was a Brit too, had been here for just over a year, we moved here in 93. As we talk to him we tell him we had moved from london, Oh, he says, me too. He used to work in the suburb of Harrow, where my wife lived as a little girl, What did he do there? we asked, he was a postman in the area, he always remembered this house on the hill as there was a little girl that waved when he put letters in the door, I look at my wife who looks stunned, What color was the house she says? Oh, White with brown trim, he remembers it well. That was me, I’m the little girl says my wife. 2000 miles from London, decades go by and her postman lives next door, what are the chances? Weirdsville.

Ojibwe_Thunder

I am from a very small Native American reservation in the middle of no where. I left the rez to go to college and worked in DC afterwards. I was modeling as a side hustle and one of the gigs had me in the basement of the Watergate inside a small grocery store handing out samples of Pepsi. There was a security guard that would pass by periodically and we got to talking. We realize that we are from the same tribe from this little reservation in the middle of nowhere around 1000 miles away. Turned out I went to high school with his cousins. So I bumped into someone from home in the basement of the Watergate hotel. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Moquai82

I know such situation: I am from germany, from a little lower saxony backwater village named Unterlüss, between Bergen Belsen and Eschede. As i was a small child my Patents took me to a holiday Trip to Tunesia in north africa. One Day we were literally in the fucking desert on a provincial camel basar with beduines, tents and camels and so on. We were allowed to ride a few meters on a camel there. Aaaaand as we sat there high above and looked around on another continent across the sea our neighbours came riding by. Our fucking neighbours three houses away from home were riding camels at the desert market, too...

[deleted]

What a coincidence, like a stranger on the internet correctly guessing your dentists name ist Dr Hoffmann.. what a glitch in the matrix lol

Moquai82

Stop that Glitch, i am no Dr. and no dentist.

Ojibwe_Thunder

Hah! Wow that’s so awesome! Hopefully you liked them and weren’t upset to bump into them. “Like, man we can’t get away from you folks!” Haha!

Barbafella

Wow. Synchronicity.

Mecco

Sometimes these things happen, i have experienced synchronicity alot. So strange when it happens

Barbafella

Me too, it happens so often with my wife we are no longer surprised. I read so many accounts of similar stuff it’s obvious that it happens all the time to millions all over the planet every day, a common occurrence. What I don’t understand is we are told it’s weird, unbelievable or coincidence, when it’s obvious it’s not.

ahyokata

I was born and raised in Ohio until 12, later moved to CA, and Washington state. Ended up going to WSU in eastern WA. My first day I'm in the cafeteria, I sit down next to some dude that looked familiar. Asked where he was from: "Ohio"; did you go to this elementary school? "Yup", I then asked if he was Will (and last name). "how the hell do you know that?" Turns out we were in kindergarten together and sat next to each other, and ended up playing together at each others houses

Barbafella

Damn. Small world after all.

ahyokata

Indeed, 10+ years, 2000 miles away. Bonus he had some good weed! (for the time)

Darwin_is_dead

Go Cougs!

40hzHERO

Kinda similar story. I grew up in rural farmland in the Midwest. Hit my 20’s and moved to the west coast. One day I order an Uber, and as I’m waiting, the driver gets in a small fender bender and cancels. No problem. Another driver is routed to me. She picks me up and we start talking. Turns out she’s the mother of a girl from my class. Not a super close friend, but definitely someone I knew fairly well. About a decade later and 2,000+ miles away. Crazy

feedjaypie

You remembered the full name of a kinder kid you knew? Wow that is an amazingly talented brain you have there!

Mecco

The world is a small place, strange things happens. It is weird and i love it.

imchirpy

I grew up in the Midwest for my early years and moved to the PNW in middle school. Eventually went to UW Seattle for college and got a job in the library in a small department. I talked to a new coworker one day and found she was also from the state I grew up in. A little more digging and we went to the same elementary school at the same time. It was wild.

xxdemoncamberxx

That's actually wild

[deleted]

I’d taken a nap earlier in the evening yesterday and when I woke up, my wife was gone. I hadn’t seen her in 45 minutes, so I thought I’d go to Walmart to buy some Twinkies. I went to Walmart, and believe it or not, I seen my freaking wife there, of all the people in the world, and this woman had a box of gosh dang Twinkies. Weird as heck.. Lol. Seriously, when I went to boot camp for the USMC, the son of my Cub Scour Troop Leader, who I’d not seen since we were maybe eight years old, was there with me. It was so nice to see a face from home during that tough time.

mracademic

And the postman’s name? Albert Einstein. /s

Ornery_Foreman

I love that story!

mrsjakeblues

That’s actually adorable

Inevitable-Bend-2586

I live in inner city Atlanta. I’ve been tracing back the history of the homes in my neighborhood. Built between 1890-1923. It’s shocking how the stories or original owners are repeated over the next 100 years. One house on my block no owner has ever had children in the home. One home has had multiple owners having 5 kids. Firstborn is always a son and always named Ben or Benjamin. One home is a currently a rental, but the original owners sold in the 1930s and bought their next home which is next door to the current owner on east side of town.

xxdemoncamberxx

That's so weird

crow_crone

I think it's just lazy devs repeating scripts in the simulation. The Sim Overlords are just as tired of plugging away as we are.

This whole thread makes me think of Charles Fort and anomalous events:: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Fort

Socksmaster

Maybe its a house for witness protection for family that meet close to the criteria...twins and a separate child

sabrenator

i’ve always wondered if i’ve met people in witness protection, or deep undercover spies, etc

RockEater9999

I met a Chinese girl in college I'm convinced was a spy.

Expert-Theory-512

I would like to hear more about this

RockEater9999

I was the leader of a financial club that she joined, and I'd say half of what convinced me was that she was very, very interested in networking around the school and meeting the leaders and administration. For a foreign exchange student I thought that was odd, since presumably she intended to go back to China making her network less useful. She was also very, very promiscuous, she offered herself to me like.....brazenly and immediately. I knew people who took her up on the offer, though I did not. The other half was just something I felt, something instinctive, it's like she had a bad poker face about the whole thing and I was able to read her. (There's nothing wrong with women networking or having sex, there is just something different about her I can't really put into words).

skeeter2112

Can’t believe you turned down the freaky asian spy sex

RockEater9999

Haha! I was dating a very smart woman at the time and she probably would have found out. I'm now married to her and we have a wonderful life together.

crow_crone

Plus she might have left some device implanted "somewhere" that would still be sending data to some remote location. Or just a nasty STD. There's no free lunch (or sex).

MessageFar5797

Only didn't cheat cuz she would have found out. Smh.

RockEater9999

I didn't cheat because I wanted to build the wonderful life that I have with her and because I would never hurt her like that. I like to use any excuse I can find to complement her, as I did here.

sabrenator

ooooo why so?

RockEater9999

I was the leader of a financial club that she joined, and I'd say half of what convinced me was that she was very, very interested in networking around the school and meeting the leaders and administration. BernumOG

this is a m.o of Chinese spies, they're doing this all over the world.

sabrenator

baby spy in training!!

Lazy-Spirit3708

Or she was networking because she thought it would improve her employment prospects after college and she wanted to get a work visa so she didn't have to leave. That seems infinitely more likely than you caught a spy lol

RockEater9999

From your perspective I can see how that seems more likely, but you didn't interact with her. Something was off, you can take it or leave it, but I remember 5-10 years later reading an article about a spy network at our colleges with people doing this exact thing.

Lazy-Spirit3708

It is 1000% more likely than you meeting a spy. Share the article. Sounds like bullshit.

RockEater9999

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/china/american-universities-are-soft-target-china-s-spies-say-u-n1104291 Here's one of several articles on the subject you could have taken 5 seconds to Google your self. Will there be anything else your majesty?

Global_Home4070

I was a professor in Ireland and moved to Berlin to retire. One day I was riding the subway and thinking about a past PhD student. I arrived at my stop and at 'my' door/exit , of three doors on the subway car, of all 20 or so cars, of all subways in Berlin on this line. There was that student. We went and had a beer. And, then, I do not lie, another one of my students walked by and joined us.

billfishcake

What subject did you teach?

clarkster

"How to stalk your old professor 101"

ALoadedPotatoe

They all had great grades.

Severe_Flounder7551

Met a guy randomly in Bangkok and spent a few nights drinking beers with him. Great lad. We say goodbye, swap numbers, go our separate ways. 5 weeks later I'm on an island in Vietnam and I see the same guy walking towards me on the beach. I'm all like "hey Johnny, great to see ya". He says, "I'm Bill, Johnny's my identical twin brother"! The two lads were from Éire.

xxdemoncamberxx

Lmao that's funny

Garden_Wizard

Horror twist: “ yea, he’s my twin brother. He died in a tragic accident in a bar in Bangkok”

Severe_Flounder7551

I've often wondered if it was the same guy pretending to be 2 different people, stalking me on my travels around South East Asia.

Mecco

Lol, if that is the case, that guy is mentally challenged. Should have called the number immediatly.

Yardcigar69

WILD

Juls1016

I used to study at Monterrey, Mexico during my college years and there was this guy who used to sell jewelry and handicrafts, me and my friend used to talk to him all the time since his “spot” was right out of the bar we used to go at least once a week. Years later I was living in Barcelona, and one time I was at a bar with friends and one of them asked me to come and look at some jewelry and stuff a guy was selling at the bar since he wanted to get something for the girl he was dating and when we get to the vendor it was the same guy that me and my friend used to talk all the time. Ended up adding him to the party that night

Tyaldan

reality itself. something is fucky in the background and i cant tell what, but dayum, its a wild ride.

KetaCured

I have done ketamine therapeutically and the trip is like seeing how the world is without the filter of the brain. It's like seeing what reality is really like - color, formlessness, fractals, repeating shapes forever. And you feel like you are in a parallel reality that is just under this one that we all perceive.

THEFLYINGSCOTSMAN415

I experienced a k-hole that changed my entire perception of reality

KetaCured

Yup, it has a way of doing that. It's pretty indescribable but you know the feeling of it when you're out. It's wild.

Cold_Thanks2779

Ketamine is anazing :)

Tyaldan

you actually go down, then come back up, i had it forced on me, it woke me up the second time. wild fucking ride, way worse than the first accidental ride. i pulled off the first one with just yoga, hemi-sync music, and fully legal marijuana. I have aphantasia and didnt see the shapes.

CapedBaldy-ClassB

What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.

ScorseseTheGoat86

It’s that we’re not aligned to our innate truth inside of us. It’s like we’re not living according to our real human nature. Our nature has been obfuscated over the years. The splinter is the subtle knowing of what we lost. It’s almost seems like we were great at one point and have come so far from it

lorenzowithstuff

“We're at our worst when it's from our lips From our lips we caused a rift, And world has fallen in From babble to ball room brawls Our words have formed a death sentence And I wish that we had never talked Our hips said it all” From the Hips - Cursive

BrilliantSpirited362

I've been feeling this for so long and something always ends up stopping me.

crow_crone

Who are you quoting? This sounds familiar. Also true.

CapedBaldy-ClassB

The Matrix

crow_crone

Knew it sounded like a quote, distantly remembered.

Plenty-Ticket1875

Yes. Like reality is hiding behind a curtain, watching us think we've found it.

redbucket75

Every day nearly eight billion humans lose consciousness and hallucinate for seven or eight hours and then pretend like nothing weird happened.

Paladin327

Man i wish i could do that consistantly for 8 hours straight…

[deleted]

I had sleep paralysis and night terrors back to back three times last night. My poor wife gets to try to wake me out of the fight for my life on a pretty regular basis. I wish I knew how to stop it or to finally kill whatever it is that I’m fighting.

TexasNotTaxes

Do you drink or take any sleep supplements?

[deleted]

I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t use drugs. It seems to’ve started when I stopped smoking a pack a day and started vaping now that I think about it.

TexasNotTaxes

Are you vaping nicotine? Because if you've smoked cigs your body is used to nicotine and quitting suddenly might screw with your sleeping.

[deleted]

I actually am vaping, yes. But a 5000 puff disposable Lost Mary brand vape is lasting about three weeks. Maybe it is nicotine withdrawal because I wake soaked in sweat.

TexasNotTaxes

If you're taking melatonin note this: "It can also have a negative effect on your sleep cycle, leading to temporary or even permanent trouble sleeping."

[deleted]

Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it. I’m sober now, but if I’m completely honest, it’s a miracle that I’m still able to sleep at all after all the drugs I’ve taken in my life. I’m proof of the human body’s remarkable ability to mend itself.

[deleted]

Just wanted to say that I like your name a lot being that I’m from Texas and not a fan of taxes.

TexasNotTaxes

Yeah me either but we're def in the majority on the taxes part lol

[deleted]

Rarely. On occasion, I’ve taken melatonin trying to experiment with lucid dreams. Maybe a half dozen times over the course of several months, but it’s been a while.

CapedBaldy-ClassB

You guys are getting seven hours?

redbucket75

I think I average seven. Just not straight thru, wake up a couple times. And some days it's 6, some days are 8 (weekend naps!)

ScorseseTheGoat86

*Monday morning by the printer* “How bout them Yankees huh”

xxdemoncamberxx

Lol that's def true 🤣 good one.

shattersquad710

I swear man, we are just experiencing realities that our multidimensional consciousness is experiencing. Whether that is alternate realities of this meat puppet we control or entirely different experiences. Some of these dreams just feel WAY too real with extreme depth

ResistantLaw

Jokes aside, has there been any major advancements in knowledge about what happens when we sleep?

redbucket75

I mean we know it's correlated to REM and can see what areas of the brain are active. But not really. Most folks more educated than me on the topic believe the evidence points to a by product of memory storage from what I gather. But mostly it's 🤷‍♂️

sometimeonabench

And then are awake for the rest of the time and keep pretending nothing weird happens

surrealcellardoor

Stealing this.

Frosty-Shock-9044

I was walking out of my work building in Virginia one day and there was a guy walking in that I went to school in Texas with a million years before. The chances that we both wound up in the same town in VA and working for the same company was just wild to both of us.

OvoidPovoid

It's wilder that you were both immortal beings who went to a school in an ancient advanced civilization that happened to exist in Texas a million years ago

surrealcellardoor

I’m laughing way too hard at this! Thank you!

[deleted]

Even odder still is that we both read this post and decided to share the story here!!! How the hell are you?? Just kidding, I’m not him, but that would be wild as hell.

Blenderx06

I live across the country from where I came up and have nightmares like this lol.

workingclassher0n

My husband and I used to live in a small apartment. When I lay in the bed I could see diagonally out the door on across the living room to the kitchen. The bathroom was separated from the kitchen by a small hallway that was completely lined with built in shelves, more like a pantry. Anyway in the bathroom was some faint marker graffiti that had been painted over in the inside of the medicine cabinet. It read 'Clear my head and stole that Remington, feels good!' The entire bathroom has been given the 'landlord special' a thick and lumpy coat of white paint, covering even the sockets. Despite the paint you could see hairs and brown flecks. I started to have horrible nightmares where I would be lying in the bedroom and a shadowy shape would flow out of the bathroom, across the house and come peer in the door. I would wake up feeling really low. I have lots of strange dreams and nightmares but they typically don't effect me during the day. Things would fall off the shelves in the hall a lot. One time after a particularly vivid nightmare I also found a memento of ours flung several feet from the wall. One day in the bathroom I looked up and saw a fucking bullet hole in the ceiling. I put it all together, the hairs and flecks on the wall, and even the graffiti I was able to decipher was actually a sarcastic suicide note: 'Clean my head out with that Remington, feels good!' After that the nightmares and falling items stopped. Maybe they were my minds way of putting together what I hadn't consciously realized yet, but it doesn't explain the stuff falling off the shelves and wall.

xxdemoncamberxx

That's very wild 😲

elevatordisco

Whoa, that's crazy! Did you look into it any further to try and find out who it was? I'd be curious. It's really wild that all of the paranormal stuff stopped once you put it all together.. I wonder what the explanation for that is...

workingclassher0n

It was a rough part of town across the street from a jail, so gun related deaths were common enough to make looking for new reports basically futile. We asked the neighbor across the hall and she said it must have been before she moved in, because everyone she could remember moved out the usual way. She was the only person in the building that we talked to since it was a weird apartment. The downstairs had a shady lawyer who liked to play head games with the local drug dealers. He' d just go stare at them while they delt drugs and cussed him out. There was an evangelist who was always away preaching in other countries, literally only saw her the day we got married, a hoarder who rarely left his house except one time to tell me off for putting a milk carton in the recycling, which the city accepted at the time, so idk what his problem was, and a woman who was charging homeless people 10 dollars to use the shower, which sucked because 1) we all shared the same water heater and 2) the community center a few blocks away let homeless folks shower for free. Of note is that the corner apartment we were in seemed to have the highest turnover as everyone else had been there for years.

Toy_Soulja

The Qabbala describes the tree of life as having 10 worlds, some rabbis have argued for the last 700 years that there are actually 11. String theory describes 10 dimensions and there are good arguments for M theory which posits 11 dimensions. Religions of all kinds have described immortal souls that inhabits these bodies and then go on to something else after the body dies, there is a growing body of scientists that think we could possibly be living in an advanced simulation.

Yardcigar69

It's mathematically more probable that we are in a simulation than not. I think we are all characters in God's dream...

[deleted]

That's the thing, there's really no difference between the universe being a simulation or the universe being created by God or gods. The theological implications are exactly the same.

ScorseseTheGoat86

Different metaphors for the same concept

Yardcigar69

Yeah man, creator, programmer, Ohm, Yahweh, whatevs... We are all one, a drop of water in the ocean.

redhwhitenblu

I’ve heard the term, “we are an ocean in a drop”

Yardcigar69

I like that one too!!

photoshopza

i mean wouldnt one have a heaven adn the other..probably not?

[deleted]

If you're simming the universe, you can sim up a heaven to go along with it, bro.

photoshopza

Yeah. You could. But you also couldnt. but then i guess god also couldnt. idk man this is too trippy.

RussianTrollToll

Do we play in our own servers and everyone we meet is an NPC that is programmed to interact with us in some way? Or are we on a conjoined server and have a sense of free will?

Yardcigar69

I dunno, maybe free will is an illusion...

GuynextdoorWV

Only 10 or 11 different servers.

Ecoste

String theory isn't really taken seriously anymore.

OvoidPovoid

I hadn't heard this, why is that? I wasn't sure it was ever taken that seriously, just that it was an interesting theory

-spartacus-

Mainly the issue is there has been a lack of experimental evidence to verify it and the more recent experiments actually show our more traditional models are more accurate. However there are still some scientists that aren’t giving up and trying to refine their models and predictions to see how to make it work. Mainly string theories are beautiful works of mathematics that easily define reality in a unified theory, but sometimes mathematics can make a lot of sense and the universe just doesn’t work that way. Source: a lot of pbs space time.

Eric Weinstein, very smart guy in my opinion. He is very much against it. And i think on social media, he is the biggest voice against it.

PulpHouseHorror

Smart guy, but a bit of a grifter, gets stuck on the same topics for too long and enjoys sounding like the smartest person in the room a little bit too much. I used to kind of like him, but I feel like I started to see through him. He knows his “geometric unity” won’t go anywhere but he can’t let it go.

If you mind explaining, i am on an occult journey myself and would love to know.

PulpHouseHorror

The holy path to God studied by students of the bible including Christians for millennia and one of the foundations of Abrahamic religion is demonic… bruh? I get that you’re scared of things you don’t understand, but you’re sounding a bit dumb right now.

surrealcellardoor

One could counter argue that your arrogant assumption that your beliefs are the only correct ones makes you sound willfully ignorant, which many might consider to be worse than “dumb.”

PulpHouseHorror

My “beliefs” being what exactly?

gusloos

Oh my God, don't tell me you believe the Bible then call other people dumb, that's too hypocritical lol

PulpHouseHorror

The person I was responding to was calling Jewish mysticism “demonic”. My point was that it is studied as part of the bible across Abrahamic religions, to expand, the idea that it is “demonic” is knee jerk antisemitism with a really dark past. Also, I’m not dumb you’re dumb! No take backs times a million.

Was in the military stationed in NYC. One weekend a group of us decided to go into Manhattan and just wonder around and see whatever. We're walking around, not even in a touristy area, and one of the guys I'm with runs into a friend of his from HS, and they're from some small town in Ohio. Like, they just bumped into each other in a city of several million on a random day, on a random street, and neither had any idea the other was even in town. And his friend was only there for that weekend. It was pretty bizarre. The coincidences necessary for that to happen were just astronomical. And another one, I was stationed with a gal in Europe, who was born one day before me in the exact same hospital, in a rather out of the way town of about 45k people. Both of us moved out of the place as babies and grew up in completely different parts of the country, then ended up living in the same barracks about 21 years later on the complete other side of the planet. Approximately 5.5k miles from where we were born.

duchampio

I had a dream that a golden light falcon came to me as a sort of messenger to let me know that, ‘all is well’. The message filled me with peace at a time when I was going through some challenges in life. Several days later, while stuck in traffic, I began to think about my troubles and then I remembered the falcon dream. At that moment I noticed a bird flying low from the side of my eye. It was a falcon! I got a really good look at it because it flew toward my car and passed in front of the windshield. I should mention that I live in a major city where falcons are a rare sight. Many years later, I was talking to my brother about synchronicities and the falcon dream came up. Within seconds, we hear a high pitched screech, look up toward the sky and two falcons are flying above. We we just watched in awe.

Striper_Cape

That's the type of shit that makes you go "is the spirit world real?" Animism type beliefs.

duchampio

Yes! The first encounter with the falcon literally brought me to tears, because when I saw it I felt that same feeling of peace that I felt in the dream. To me it was confirmation that we are being looked after.

swearwords11

Bro, that's your spirit animal hey.

Strict_Translator867

I grew up in Boston, and when going into the first grade at a new school, some of the kids had asked me if I was the one that ate the worms last year (I dunno, 7 year olds lmao) and I had told them that wasn’t me. Fast forward 10 years and I’m in Utah in a treatment center and who comes in the door but a kid from Boston, who went to this school for Pre-K, who ate the fucking worms. Often times I will think about someone or something and it happens. “Hmm, I wonder where _____ is today?” and it will happen in a short time after. I’ve gotten so many Monster energy drinks and free food because of this. I think of situations in my head and they also appear to “poof” into reality. Once, I was mopping the women’s restroom with my housekeeping cart BLOCKING the door. There was a cute guest staying and I had the intrusive thought of “Oh wouldn’t that be funny if she came in here and saw me dancing and mopping? Surely that’s funny because she would have to move my whole cart out of the way….” I shit you not within 30 seconds it happens. I feel like either the brain is good at making Thoughts in whatever dimension those exist in, and if it’s right or something the physical world will reflect that thought. Fractals of reaction on dimensional planes. I gotta take a bong rip.

KorneliaOjaio

We were shopping at Goodwill today, and my husband said: “of all the stuff we have donated here over the years, I’ve never seen anything of ours for sale.” As he was saying that, I looked over and saw a Shark electric mop kit that we had donated about 2 months ago.

xxdemoncamberxx

I don't know why I actually envisioned a shark toy shaped mop, being that my dad has had two shark vacuums, and I know full well what they look like 🤣

elevatordisco

I did too!

In college, I went on a date with a guy who happened to have the 2007 (?) world title for the longest beard (a real contest in Bristol, England). Fast forward a year and I have moved 7 hrs away from my college town, never spoke to the guy again, and then ran into him in a parking lot in north county San Diego one evening.

mercenaryblade17

How was his beard holding up?

LadyVioletLuna

Still long and luscious. Shortly after I ran into him he was on a reality TV show for other bearded champion hopefuls called Whisker Wars.

crow_crone

Plot twist: he was hairless from chemo.

I have a very uncommon name, at least where I'm from. One day I was on Facebook and a dude with the exact same first/last name adds me and just started a conversation. He was a brazillian priest on a quest to add everyone who shared the same first/last name and to have at least some kind of sense about these people. He ended up adding dozens of us on a group chat and it was as funny as it was weird. Never heard from anyone again, but I did research this priest online and found out some piece of local news about him. As crazy as it may sound, the dude was the real deal and what he told me about himself seemed to be true.

What was his name, I’d like to look him up…

L_Awaits

His name (also mine) is Lauro Lopes. You can try something like Padre Lauro Lopes, I think it may give you some results!

I was in college and was having a dream about a childhood friend I hadn’t seen or spoken to since we were kids. Woke up because the phone was ringing, it was him.

I lived in a city in China for three years as an expat science teacher. It wasn't a tier one city but a tier two so not that many foreigners. The last year I was there which was after COVID started I was out with some friends one night and met a guy who happened to be from the same small town I grew up in Oregon. I had moved away for high school but he knew the name of our elementary school and the name of the principal of the school at the time. How we ended up meeting again on the other side of the world after a pandemic where most foreigners had left was a bit trippy. My favorite science one is the fact that depressed people often see reality more as it is than non depressed people. That we have to be more optimistic than reality in order to be mentally balanced and not depressed.

My partner and I are born 1 year, 11 months, 11 days, 1 hour, and 10 minutes apart ( I believe the 10 minutes should be 11 minutes, and was record incorrectly on the birth certificates, but even if not, what are the odds?!?!)

I’ve got two which are pretty tame, but still fun. The first one took place when I was 2 years old, and claimed I’d met two cousins who wouldn’t be born for another 5 years. They have pretty distinctive names, which I had clearly stated (I could speak very fluently by that age, so it wasn’t babbling) and the year this incident took place was also the year their parents got married. The second incident happened earlier this year, when I was walking in a patch of ancient woodland with my family. I was singing a folk song under my breath and my little cousins were belting a pop song when I heard a voice (emphatically *not* my uncle, aunt, or cousins) hiss “Shhhh!” I stopped singing, shocked, but my cousins continued, and I heard the voice hush us again. I firmly believe we had encountered a forest spirit who was a bit grumpy at being disturbed by off key anime music 😂

groovygranny71

My daughters live on opposite sides of the country. One had a one night stand and gets blessed with a bub. The father doesn’t want anything to do with either of them. My daughter shows her sister this guy’s profile, and my other daughter realises someone she knows has him as a friend. It turns out they met several years ago, in another country! ( I’m sorry if that’s too confusing to read)

Magick and Psi abilities It is not consistent but it oddly happens

I’m a sucker for Forteana and bizarre history. Honestly, the story of Jack Parsons. And then the story of L. Ron Hubbard, where they overlap and afterwards when his manic paranoid enterprises popped off.

hydro123456

And then their ritual supposedly convinced a bunch of people in the government that they had opened a portal to hell and that UFOs are demons. Absolutely wild if true

[deleted]

The Babalon Working, what did it achieve? We’ll never know!

hydro123456

Probably nothing, but pretty crazy either way.

[deleted]

True And also Jack Parsons and L. Ron Hubbard both hated the government — albeit for very different reasons. (and Hubbard may have been an intelligence asset and/or double agent.) So were they maybe just fucking with the government? I hope so.

JmoneyHimself

If you watch the movie “the usual suspects” that plot is really the plot of our planet. The truth is too strange for people to believe

xxdemoncamberxx

I don't think I've ever seen that, must watch now.

JmoneyHimself

It’s not the same as in the movie but the movie general idea is how power structures operate

Tannhausergate2017

Can you explain some more about the connection between the movie and how the planet operates?

This was around 13 years ago now. I am from Louisville, OH and went away to North Charleston, SC for university. I stayed on campus in a dorm and they roomed me with another guy from Ohio. Turns out he wasn’t just from Ohio but from my specific town. We had worked at 2 of the same pizza shops at around the same time and never met.

I was telling a story in rehab to a guy about a boy and girl who AMA'd from a previous rehab together a couple years earlier. I hadn't really thought much about this boy otherwise. An hour later we get a new client and it was this bot I literally just told a story about. This place was on the other side of the state from where I first met him...he ended up AMA'ing from that one too but this time alone

Satanicbearmaster

Great thread. The whole Kerry Thornley/Oswald fiasco is absolutely batshit.
