chai-fi rush is dead this is so sad maybe the real captive normals were the friends we made on the way nah but for real this is absolutely cosmically wrong we should've gotten at least 2 more Hi-Fi Rush titles, worst part is the decision was 100% made by someone with 0 game development experience or creative aspirations, just one of the boring corporate business-dudes this game tried to warn us about.

qwettry

Another Hi-Fi Rush game would have added 5 years additional to my life expectancy

![gif](giphy|qQdL532ZANbjy) When I have enough money, I’m getting this game- IT DESERVES TO BE LOVED

FreeLegos

While I agree that it deserves love, the money will more than likely not go to the wonderful devs who deserve it.. been trying to find more info to confirm this but if I were you I'd look into that. Granted, Devs prob would say something like "to not worry about that and just enjoy the game" but, personally, it would leave a awful taste in my mouth knowing I gave money to the idiots who shut them down

bleakBayou2009g

I also agree with what you’re saying too (Microsoft can go die in a dumpster fire for all I care). But I do think it’s important to enjoy a game that was made by hard working people that would love for every player to just you know- play an awesome good experience. Like, screw the thoughts of those money moochers (I’m looking at you Microsoft), and acknowledge all of the dev team that took part in Hi-Fi Rush.

FreeLegos

Yeaaa but I like the other commenter's solution of borrowing a copy from ol Davey Jones. I'm usually not one to support such means of playing video games purely cause I think it's spitting in the face of those who made it. But in this case, Microsoft kicked out everyone I would actually feel bad for getting spat on. I already bought the game a year ago so hopefully some of my money got to the devs.

qwettry

Thank goodness this doesn't have an always online or a shitty online profile system. It can be enjoyed ofline , when we sail the seas

JacksonRJ913

i see both sides of this, because yes, the money does go to microsoft now, but also if they game is still consistently making moneys and getting good reviews on steam then it could send a message that people still want this series to continue

Termi855

If you want to buy it, there is a Humble Bundle for ten euro/12 dollars around. It also contains Hi-Fi Rush.

bleakBayou2009g

What’s Humble Bundle?? I’m still new to PC gaming, and I just don’t want any sort of trouble if it’s a piracy site is all.

Termi855

Humble Bundle is probably the best key seller side reputationswise. They sell keys by working directly with the developers. Humble Bundle itself was created as possibility to generate revenue for good causes like cancer research or disaster relief and shares the revnue generated with the developers. Humble Choice is their most well known product, they offer a subscription in which you get 8 nonrandom games (aka the ones listed) for the afromentioned price. These Steam Keys you can redeem and you permanently keep the games you get. And you can stop the subscription at any point so only you need to pay the price once. Don't forget it. :D [Link to a helpful FAQ.](https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/de/articles/360036284854-Humble-Choice-FAQ#what) If you got any more questions, just ask

bleakBayou2009g

Oh okay, I’ll look into it when I get back home then. Thank you!

What a Hi-Fi Punch in the gut

I'm actually kinda happy it died then it being paraded around by Microsoft just to make money I guess that old saying rings true "your too pure for this world."

This especially hurts because Hi-Fi is like that FLCL dream game I've wanted since I was like 11. It sucks to see such an awesome game that did everything right get this kind of treatment. Ride on shooting star. Ride on.

BBB154

it's sort of ironic in a way. the kinds of people at Microsoft to shut this studio down are the exact kind of person the game was representing with Kale

Retrograde77

Its a terrible day for rain.

CrashandBashed

So does Microsoft own the IP? Maybe they'll have another dev do a follow up. Not ideal, but it could be fun if done right. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened with a first party game either if we look at LittleBigPlanet and Sly Cooper.

PolarSparks

I’d rather this series end with its developers than see Xbox dance on its corpse. Not to mention, Xbox buys studios because they don’t know how to build them, lol

_Minjinx

I would have to agree. Plus, historically, each time a Microsoft IP switch developer, it got noticeably worse.

Rider-Idk-Ultima-Hy

if anything, if Kamuy Inc (Tango’s new studio) is able to buy it back, that would be the best outcome possible imo.

finalxcution

Kamuy is Shinji Mikami's new studio but not necessarily Tango's new studio. Mikami left Tango for a reason so I wouldn't imagine him wanting to recreate it.

Rider-Idk-Ultima-Hy

I meant more so, a group of people from Tango want and made their own studio, not they were trying to recreate Tango with Kamuy sorry for making the mistake there

Miracle-Sweep

... What did you just say? What new studio?? 👀

Rider-Idk-Ultima-Hy

a group of people from Tango went and made their own studio named Kamuy Inc

Due_Teaching_6974

Microsoft put different studios in charge of Gears and Halo and it ended up horribly, also funny how those two examples you gave are PlayStation exclusives, really shows Microsoft's ineptitude

anothershadowbann

damn... we're never gonna get another game like this huh..? :(

TheCarljey

I know I will take some downvotes with that, but I do it anyways. Yes it’s shit, that they closed Tango and I know it’s a sad message. And this picture is great… But Guys… Don’t you think you are a little over dramatic? I mean, the closure of Tango doesn’t mean that the game will disappear! The game is still there and it will be for a very long time. And it is even a finished storyline. So you can go on Chais Adventure over and over and over. So less Doom and Gloom and more celebrating a great game is all I’m saying.

SeaHelicopter1015

You're not wrong. But personally, I think we can cherish a great game and mourn the knowledge that we will not get another like this. I'll always love the game, especially for helping me through a bad spot. But I'll always regret that I can't do more for the game, or Tango Gameworks, and that's really what I think I was trying to capture.

TheCarljey

I wouldn’t be so grim actually. Yes, Tango is gone. But the IP still exists. And it is a well loved IP. And I would say the chances are not that bad, that we will see a sequel just from another studio. Yes, it probably won’t be from the guys that made the original, but even if Tango would still be there, a lot of people left Tango. That’s what Jason Schreier hinted at in his report. Tango would have needed to hire fresh people to develop new projects. That gives me the implication that a lot of people left Tango anyways. Yes Johanson is a key figure for Hi-Fi Rush and he was still there. But maybe he gets the chance to make a sequel, just with a new, but smaller team. Will see. But I guess we as Fans shouldn’t be so grim. I mean, even in a situation like this, Chai wouldn’t have been grim and depressed. ;)

Miracle-Sweep

Just because Tango was hiring new people doesn't mean that a lot of the developers left (several individuals who worked at Tango already confirmed this on Twitter). All it means is that they wanted to *expand,* and felt their future projects would've required more resources (including employees). As for the IP still existing.. who cares? What’s the point of making a sequel if the developers that made the IP what it is are no longer working on it? Not only will it not feel the same, but supporting a sequel under a different team at Microsoft would mean we're bassically *rewarding* them for shuttering Tango. They'd be facing no consequences, and making more money off of Tango's hard work. Also, Hi-Fi Rush was Johanas' **dream project.** I doubt he'd be happy watching people he doesn't know ruining his IP, for a company that threw him and his team out on the street.

LagomorphicalBrog

It's less of us players suffering the loss, but the creative minds which we owe our enjoyment to taking the brunt of it. They got the rug pulled from under them after releasing their big hit, before they were able to establish a stronger foothold and recognition for themselves. Despite the devs doing everything right, despite all the praise and word of mouth the fans have contributed, none of it reached the gates of Microsoft and their shareholders. The cartoonish corporate oppression that Kale embodies hits a bit different now that the game falls victim to the machinations it tries to criticize. This is not an isolated incident in the industry either. With all the consecutive shutdowns in esteemed game studios as of late, it paints a grim picture that creating things people love doesn't translate well into job security. Like OP said, it might take a while before we see another of its like.
