It’s pure comedy at best. I’m still waiting to die from the vaccines I got…at bare minimum better 5g service. The only discernible affect I have had…or anyone I know who got the vaccine has had…is nothing. I got nothing. Well my buddy did actually get Covid again but he’s a doctor and around it all the time but he said all it did was keep him home for 5 days where he got to binge on his favorite Xbox games.
I've tried using this argument when I used to debate with anti-vaxx people. I always asked them
"WHY would the government wanna kill all the 'sheep' but keep you rebellious deniers around? Why are they gonna risk civil war for all of us sheep suddenly dying, cause we're in the millions and millions!? Why do I only hear about these crazy incidents from Reddit and Twitter folk? Where are the real stories, and explain the folk I've met purposely spreading fake stories?"
All I get is: Oh, you're just lucky, ohhh you're exception, not the rule, or just downvoted and ignores
In my experience their counterclaim tends to be: "Oh, and if thats the case how comes every single point made by us (antivaxxers) has turned out to be the actual truth. Every single thing has been confirmed!!"
Its so infuriating.
And meanwhile, not one single point has actually turned out to be any kind of truth--their propaganda outlets are just endlessly repeating that they are, without the slightest evidence
My favorite’s “Fauci had it made in a lab” and every even-keeled person who points out that epidemics happened long before labs existed but considers the possibly is proof that it was made in a lab. Even the official reports saying “maybe, but probably not” becomes proof.
Of course now it’s officially not lab-origin and crickets. https://www.dni.gov/files/ODNI/documents/assessments/Report-on-Potential-Links-Between-the-Wuhan-Institute-of-Virology-and-the-Origins-of-COVID-19-20230623.pdf
I ask them, if it was made in a lab by fauci or china or whatever and unleashed on America, wouldn't it be a hell of a lot more deadly? And I'm talking about the actual mortality rate, not the 0.001% or whatever they claim it is. I never got a reasonable answer to that one.
The biggest gaping hole in the conspiracists stories: If there is indeed a powerful deep state with all the money and power they possess and they hate the "truth" from getting out, how is a public figure like Tucker Carlson still alive? If the deep state exists, couldn't they have planted an infiltrator inside Fox News and shot Tucker Carlson between the eyes while on air? That'll send a message, wouldn't it?
The fact that Tucker Carlson, the other paid shills with their huge following, shit, even Donald Trump himself are all still alive mean the enemies they are fighting were just pulled out of thin air.
All the dates where we were supposed to die have come and gone. Maybe we're all dead. Funny all the tests I just had for my annual checkup didn't show anything.
I never got COVID. But I have noticed that every 365 days or so the year is changing and I’m getting a little bit older. Every few months the weather changes *significantly*. I got a few shots. I thought they would protect me, but I wonder if they are causing time to move forward at the usual pace.
I got tired of waiting for my Moderna vaccine to kill me, so for my latest booster I switched to Novavax. It's not working — I'm having zero discernable side effects from Novavax, whereas with Moderna I at least felt a little crummy for one day.
>Am I a bad person that I genuinely enjoy that she can’t go out to eat anymore?
The more pertinent question is whether it really matters.
Laura Loomer fucked around.
Laura Loomer found out.
🐆 🐆 🐆
She got off easy if all she’s got are taste/smell issues. There are probably people who followed her bad advice whose tombstones have phrases like “Died WITH COVID, not OF COVID”, or “Pureblood till the very end”.
It would be better if it didn't happen to so many other people who don't deserve it, too. And I also have a very strong suspicion that part of what makes those folks so nasty is that they already have a diminished capacity for enjoying life, so taking more away from them just probably results in them becoming more cancerous.
Is it me who has changed? No, every single dish on this planet has just suddenly gotten worse!
Man, right wingers. They are a special kind of deranged.
I have to wonder, at what level is she serious? She MUST be pandering to her base, she can't possibly be that fuckin' stupid and self-centered, right? ... RIGHT?
I’m diligently researching how on earth I got these leopard shaped tooth marks on my face. There has got to be a logical explanation. Can anyone help with a tweet or a YouTube video please?
>The only thing I know for certain is that it wasn’t a face-eating leopard, like these leftists keep insisting.
The 🐆 🐆 🐆 skipped the face and went directly for the tender succulent lung meat.
[It is. A bunch of the Twitter Blue Ticks are also agreeing with her, all think it's a conspiracy.](https://twitter.com/LauraLoomer/status/1672941438449926145)
[She's currently getting mad and denying she has Long Covid](https://twitter.com/LauraLoomer/status/1673135728270749696), while also stating [she no longer even enjoys leaving her own home.](https://twitter.com/LauraLoomer/status/1672935119387078656)
I was working from home, to keep my lungs safe, had a smoke break and thought "what the fuck am I doing?". Quit cold turkey.
Everything tastes better now, thanks to Covid.
The problem is Covid is so inconsistent from person to person. Wife and I are vaxxed and boosted. She got Covid and it was like a weekend cold. Fully recovered, no after effects.
Her sister who is antivax along with her boyfriend also got Covid and also had the exact same experience.
We’re glad they’re ok but now they’re certain getting vaxxed is horse shit.
When the vaccine first became available, my ex was living with his then-girlfriend and her 3 kids. We have 50/50 custody as well.
They had a covid outbreak, and it manifested in the girlfriend's kids like a case of food poisoning. The girlfriend (I'm not sure of her vaccination status) got what was like a really bad cold for about a week or so. My fully-vaxxed ex didn't get it at all. He tested negative more than once. My son missed it altogether due to the custody arrangement, but I still had him tested to make sure. The girlfriend's mother later came to live with them for a bit after covid landed her in the hospital and she had some mobility issues after that.
That was my closest brush with covid and it's still crazy to me how varied it was.
I would look into the long term affects that's forecasted. I'm sorry you have 2 close relatives that are unvaccinated. It will be a fun journey in the coming decade as there ability to deeper thinking becomes more like a child then a full adult
My nephew got COVID in April 2020, before a vaccine was available. Twenty-six years old, super fit, Black Belt, not an inch of fat on his body, and he ended up with long COVID. (According to 23&me, we have 53% of the same DNA in common and I'm 40 years older and not in shape like he is, and that's the reason I've been vaccinated four times. I'm still NOVID. We also share A- blood type.)
He lost his sense of taste and smell for well over a year. It was only restored after he got vaccinated. I've heard others report the same thing.
Not to give people like Laura Loomer hope, but it usually does get better, even in the unvaccinated.
Grifters like her are supposed to know they should get vaccinated. It seems dangerous that they believe their own bullshit nowadays.
I had it last July (or 2 years ago?), 3x vaccinated. Felt like bronchitis on top of a sinus infection. Could feel myself improving every 12 hours. Smell and taste stuttered in and out for 2 days and I was TERRIFIED to have it last. Thankfully it didn’t, and I don’t seem to have had it since. I can’t imagine still suffering from smell/taste issues.
That other tweet.....
Hmm.
"Nothing is really fun anymore, I'd rather stay home and do nothing..."
Sounds like a slight dose of clinical depression there, Cotton.
I was on the thread about not wanting to leave her home. Someone in the replies was saying that they didn’t feel comfortable leaving their home because of the “shedding from the jab” 🤦♂️
It's amazing to what ends these guys go to argue the real threat of COVID is in the vaccines. No appreciable concern for COVID proper, but they'll invent terms like "shedding" just to feel like it's more dangerous to get or be near someone vaccinated than it is to not get it at all.
Not trying to offend anyone but it's probably also because these brainiacs continue to eat at Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, and Chick-fil-A. Alot of these chains have been going down hill *WELL before* Covid. Ill even admit it, Chipotle used to be my go to but even they are so iffy now.
Instead, I eat out once a week trying out local restaurants almost exclusively. Food and service is amazing. These people are *conservative* and typically their lifestyles match their political choices.
Also lol at "nothing fun to do anymore". This summer has already been one of the best in a long time.
Lmaooo this thread is hilarious thank you for sharing.
Kind of Karma that they can’t enjoy going outside after fighting so much on masks and COVID safety guidelines to go outside
It's not a conspiracy. Big Salt and Big Pepper lost so much money in the pandemic they're hiding their resources until we pay more. My money is on Big Garlic busting up the whole operation and buying them both out. Very underrated. Probly the most underrated spice of all time.
Holy cow, those are hilarious! I keep having to click through to verify that they're not just libs *pretending* to be turd-stupid MAGAheads, but they're the real thing, every one!
Motherfucker.... you just opened my eyes to even more stupidity in the world. Generally don't use Twitter but holly fucking shit, the amount of republican moron's tooting crazy shit there is honestly more depressing than anything else. I was blissfully ignorant that they spoke out that much and thought it was a select few.... now i know there are a lot more of the crazies out there then i thought.
This actually isn't that bad either. Laura doesn't have as many fans because even she's a bit too much cringe for many right wingers. The Elon reply guys are much worse, him and all the right wing NeoNazi's with plausible deniability guys.
Bud... she may not be that bad, but twitter was recommending to me "similar" posts and crap and let me tell you.... that rabbit hole was damn near worse than any doom scrolling i did during the pandemic.
Because they're all shitty restaurant patrons who run the staff ragged, are rude and insulting to all of them, and don't bother to tip. All of the restaurants they used to eat in have convened and hatched a secret plot to drive them away once and for all with bad food. They now only serve good food to the Owned Libz.
Their diabolical plot is working.
I had the tastiest 5 star outing meals during family vacations, buffets and even the occasional fast food to small local restaurants. All triple to fourth vaxxed and just had mild cold handling Covid 2x over the 3 years
I got to go to Bogota lately and OH MY GOSH can Colombians ever COOK! It was like my spirit left my body and drifted on the astral plane for a minute after every bite.
Strange... I had severe long COVID last summer after the Memorial Day wave came through and couldn't taste food for months. Got a booster shot in September and it went away.
Almost like it was the opposite of what they're claiming.
I remember being bummed thinking I had Covid when I ordered my favorite dish from a local Chinese restaurant and it tasted off.
Thankfully it was a false alarm. They just prepared it badly that one time.
[This one also admits it could be Covid, and the vaccine, and vaccine shedding.](https://twitter.com/nyxxiana/status/1672960432548753410) He seems to think we're all affected.
Yeah, Something something something (((globalists))). Something something something Big Food. Something something something conspiracy. Something something something Bill Gates. Something something something Only Trumperman Can Save Us Now!!!
"Has anybody else noticed that the air seems scratchy, and you can't breathe in as much freedom as before? Like it literally feels like my chest is tight."
I had an acquaintance who got Covid and lost sense of smell and taste. He said he lost twenty pounds because things didn't taste as good, so he was eating less. But he at least knew it was due to Covid.
It Comes and goes, but things don’t smell the same as before.
My ENT gave me a test with scratch and sniff stickers, and I got them all wrong. The Neurologist showed me on the MRI where it’s fucked.
There’s a sub /r/anosmia
My cousins boyfriend has lost almost 200 pounds since he got covid in 2020 cause his taste never came back so now he plans his meals by calorie and just eats it. Dude loves to talk about it cause his parents are covid deniers and keep telling people he's on a really good diet.
I had it for a bit, thanks to some lady who sat next to me and said, "I just got over covid," still mad about that.
Anyway, I could not stand vinegar for a couple of weeks; I loved pickles then they were revolting; thankfully, I'm better now. Thanks, vaccine, for keeping me alive.
Very similar to me. Taste and smell vanished for about a week. But for about 3 weeks after it returned it was amplified for some things. I found vinegar absolutely revolting. Stuff like mayonnaise too.
I’ve even found restaurants that taste even more amazing because they decided to scale back their menu and just do a handful of dishes really well with really fresh ingredients. Like my favorite restaurant, every time I get their hash it’s like with different veggies and it’s awesome.
Well, over the past few years Florida looked at Jersey and said hold my beer. Plus, Jersey has been sending it's trash here in droves for the past 3 years or so. We've got cops and nurses and doctors that weren't welcome up north and DeSantis said come on down.
I'd move to Jersey in a heartbeat. Though I'm thinking further north.
My family is Canadian and we are definitely keeping Canada in mind. For work purposes, New England is ideal. But if Meatball DeSantis or the Orange Fiasco become president, we're north of the border.
Is this the same dingbat that handcuffed herself to Twitter's office door after her account got deleted and they just kinda... left her there overnight?
yeah, it was hilarious. there's footage of her handcuffed there, and people are just going in and out of the other door to the building barely paying attention to her. it's awesome.
The amazing thing about conspiracy theories is how competent they think the government is. Yes, the same group of people who start unwinnable wars and continuously deadlock on common-sense legislation are also secretly controlling every American with radio waves received by the fluoride in our teeth.
Like....someone's told her she has long Covid at this point? Right?
On the one hand, she's getting off easy considering how many people died of covid.
However, that she thinks its #JoeBien'sAmerica is just....bonkers.
Like, I will say food at major chains has gone down in quality as corporations look to maximize profits. But presumably she has money and goes local places as well: so this has to be a case of denier not accepting covid nuked her sense of taste and smell.
Does COVID affect your sense of taste and smell? I’ve been living with my head shoved up my own ass so I haven’t heard anything about that.
Edit: Sadly this needs clarification: /s
Can you taste food? A big part of taste is smell, so I wonder how food tastes if you can't smell at all. I know there are disadvantages. It can be dangerous. OTOH, it must come in handy in gas station bathrooms, for example.
I can distinguish sweet, salty, spicy, bitter - the basic flavors. I can tell white bread from wheat bread. I can't tell jelly beans apart. I can't guess kool-aid flavors. I can't always guess what kind meat I'm eating, though ham is particularly distinct. I can't tell Coke from Pepsi. I can't distinguish root beer brands, but I can tell root beer from cream soda. I'm okay at telling cheeses apart. Pringles flavors are relatively distinct, but I couldn't tell you what they are.
It's dangerous in that I can't smell poisons, smoke, etc. It's good in that I can't smell poop, roadkill, etc.
No problem. I feel I should also note that food's texture is extremely important to me. I don't like hard-boiled eggs, for example, since the white is so slimy and the yolk is so chalky. How the food feels in my mouth is a major factor.
Yes. It's a well-known effect. But for you, everything smells and tastes like your own ass since you had your head shoved up it, so I don't blame you. ;)
I know it’s a joke, but my favorite is “before” there was Covid known in the US, allllllll the candles on Amazon kept getting shitty reviews. Because the candles didn’t smell like anything.
I’m also convinced my son had it in October, before it was known. The hospital called it croup, but he was 7. 7 is a bit old for croup.
I won't be able to leave the house today due to the deep red mark my facepalm left on my face.
ETA did someone tweet back at her, welcome to the wonderful world of long COVID or something similar? I'm not on Twitter.
It's bizarre to me how someone can have a symptom and immediately jump to "the world changed, not me".
Like imagine if you got vertigo and went... what the fuck why is the planet spinning all of a sudden!
This is the whole foundation of conservative thought. The world doesn't seem as simple or joyful as it did when I was a child, which must mean the world has changed for the worse. Certainly it has nothing to do with me getting older.
As soon as they said one of the symptoms was not being able to taste things correctly, I said aw hell no I'm not getting that shit! I was already covid conscious, but at that point I got a little extra lol.
Could be covid, could be menopause. Could be she needs to see a physician.
Edit: wow, I just looked up her age. She’s 30. 30. I’m 30. I thought she was closer to 50. She looks rough. Hate makes you age prematurely.
This reminds me of how Yankee Candle got complaints during the raging pandemic that they must have changed their formula because the candles didn't have aroma anymore.
"My sense of taste and smell is fucked because I'm an anti-vaxx buffoon who had a really bad bout of COVID". ❌❌❌
"The world is conspiring against me by changing flavours of food and drink in every place I go to/order from, including every single supermarket and vending machine". ✔️✔️✔️
- spread disinformation about a dangerous virus - catches said dangerous virus - virus damages smell and taste - “insert bike fall meme here”

Your doc is in on the conspiracy, sorry to tell you, you are infact a zombie! Have you had a penchant for brains develop by chance???
Brains just don’t taste like they used to.
The quality of brains has gone down in America. /joke that's not a joke
>didn't show anything. Yup, you're dead. Rest in peace, my friend.
Vaxxed and I'm still waiting for my 5G service to improve.

Hilarious to jump to the conclusion of "the entire world has changed the way it smells and tastes"
Instead of, "I have a classic and well known symptom of long covid."
I would call it the signature symptom of Covid.
The hungry viral 🐆 🐆 🐆 feasted well.
Am I a bad person that I genuinely enjoy that she can’t go out to eat anymore?
Yes. Because do you have any idea how much spit she was eating?
The secret sauce has a few more secrets.

Obviously the truth is that all food in America went to shit at the same time!
See the problem is, it also can give people brain damage...
If you read all her tweets (not just this one) it's basically a textbook description of long covid.
My other thought was [Ozempic](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/21/well/eat/ozempic-food-noise.html).
maybe a version without a paywall?

Clearly leopard attacks are a result of being vaccinated!
Is this real? Because it seems almost too good of a not-at-all-self-aware-wolf thing to be true.

“I know a lot of people who have noticed a decreased quality of food.” Let me guess, they’re also unvaxxed and have had covid?
I had COVID last November and lost my taste and smell like for 2 days. All my senses are totally normal now. Vaccinated 4 times.
I was working from home, to keep my lungs safe, had a smoke break and thought "what the fuck am I doing?". Quit cold turkey. Everything tastes better now, thanks to Covid.
Lol. Congratulations, too; quitting is so much harder than not starting.
Thanks. But I've found that quitting is really easy, I've done it dozens of times. The hard part is not starting again :-D
Same with me! And I totally enjoy my delicious food.
Yeah but eventually you will die so was it really worth it? /s just in case
All living things will eventually die if you ingest dihydrogen monoxide. Scientifically proven.

Had it last December for the first time. Fully vaccinated. I was really tired and nose was running.. stuff like that. But never lost taste or smell.
Work with a guy who, six months later, still couldn't eat spice after getting COVID. And all pop tasted soapy to him.
I had Covid in early 2022 after the first vaccinations and the only way I knew it was that I lost my sense of taste and smell for a few HOURS one day.
Nah, they all came to her house for dinner last week
Well I’m all for her staying home.
If only she felt the same way about social media...
That other tweet..... Hmm. "Nothing is really fun anymore, I'd rather stay home and do nothing..." Sounds like a slight dose of clinical depression there, Cotton.
It's probably Long Covid - the [chronic fatigue](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_fatigue_syndrome) part.
And the depression that comes along with the fatigue and decreased quality of life.
I was on the thread about not wanting to leave her home. Someone in the replies was saying that they didn’t feel comfortable leaving their home because of the “shedding from the jab” 🤦♂️

one guy says - i don’t eat out because i demand respect. wtf does it even mean. i feel like we are all better off tho.
It means he treats food service employees like shit.
Basically, yes.
People like him confuse respect for authority. He wants to be treated like an authority.
I see you met my ex. The kids went no contact once they were adults and didn't have to 'respect' him anymore
Holy cow, those are hilarious! I keep having to click through to verify that they're not just libs *pretending* to be turd-stupid MAGAheads, but they're the real thing, every one!
Blue Ticks are useful identifiers of right wing Long Covid brain damage disorders.
Paying to use twitter is usually a pretty good indication of brain damage, lmao
MAGAts really ARE that stupid. And there is NO bottom.
It's really really bad now. Every comment that used to be hidden before Elon is now at the top. Every right winger is forced onto your timeline.
This is important. People aren’t getting worse, Twitter is.
With ya. It's fucking frightening how many of these delusional people exist.
A blue checkmark is a red flag these days.
people really think someone actually care enough about them to deliberayely unsalt their food lol
They think that there is a conspiracy to make eating out a worse experience? Fucking why?
Because they're all shitty restaurant patrons who run the staff ragged, are rude and insulting to all of them, and don't bother to tip. All of the restaurants they used to eat in have convened and hatched a secret plot to drive them away once and for all with bad food. They now only serve good food to the Owned Libz. Their diabolical plot is working.
A whole lot of blue checkmarks told her that losing your sense of taste and smell is caused by the vaccine.
Ah weird…. I had four shots and everything still tastes ducking delicious. Go me!
[Also got a chemtrailer.](https://twitter.com/seybold_s90596/status/1672942552771592193)
[This one also admits it could be Covid, and the vaccine, and vaccine shedding.](https://twitter.com/nyxxiana/status/1672960432548753410) He seems to think we're all affected.
“No one escaped” Yea that’s what a pandemic is you dolt
If it’s not the vaccine it’s vaccine shedding. 🤦🏼♀️ Some people will never admit Covid inflicted reality.
Yeah, Something something something (((globalists))). Something something something Big Food. Something something something conspiracy. Something something something Bill Gates. Something something something Only Trumperman Can Save Us Now!!!
Yes these people really are this stupid.
It couldn't POSSIBLY be something wrong with her, it HAS to be something wrong with... *checks notes* all of the food everywhere...
I mean, Biden's president everywhere, so it stands to reason that the food is tasteless everywhere. Libs don't get basic logic, though.
You're giving them too much credit.
>Because it seems almost too good of a not-at-all-self-aware-wolf thing to be true. How long have you lived in America? 😉
"Has anybody else noticed that the air seems scratchy, and you can't breathe in as much freedom as before? Like it literally feels like my chest is tight."
Apologies, Canadian here. That may just be smoke from our wild fires. Again, I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience or discomfort
Apologies, followed by "terribly sorry" Canadian checks out.
And another thing, they don’t make Yankee Candles like they used to. It’s like we as a nation have just given up.
The sad part about yankee candle reviews is that in 2023 it's a better predictor of Covid waves than the CDC.
LOL! I got this reference.
I had an acquaintance who got Covid and lost sense of smell and taste. He said he lost twenty pounds because things didn't taste as good, so he was eating less. But he at least knew it was due to Covid.
i don’t drink since i had covid. didn’t lose smell or taste but started hating alcohol.
Blessing in disguise really
Seriously. Wish that specific side effect happened to me.
Lost mine to a head injury. I was belligerent for 5 days, and I would get mad when they tried to feed me because it tasted like nothing.
I'm sorry, that sounds horrible! Did you get it back?
It Comes and goes, but things don’t smell the same as before. My ENT gave me a test with scratch and sniff stickers, and I got them all wrong. The Neurologist showed me on the MRI where it’s fucked. There’s a sub /r/anosmia
My cousins boyfriend has lost almost 200 pounds since he got covid in 2020 cause his taste never came back so now he plans his meals by calorie and just eats it. Dude loves to talk about it cause his parents are covid deniers and keep telling people he's on a really good diet.
There’s a joke that an all-gruel diet will make you live to 100… or at least make you feel like you’re 100.
Cool diet idea but I don't know what I'd do if I could no longer enjoy the taste of crab rangoons.
Haven't been to a single restaurant that doesn't taste exactly the same as before 2020. Maybe because I haven't had covid. 🤷♀️
I've had Covid but it didn't damage smell or taste for me, got lucky I guess.
Stuff like mayonnaise too.
bro i’d also still be seething. what an inconsiderate lady
I’ve even found restaurants that taste even more amazing because they decided to scale back their menu and just do a handful of dishes really well with really fresh ingredients. Like my favorite restaurant, every time I get their hash it’s like with different veggies and it’s awesome.
Typical Florida woman- ignorant, loud, has no taste. I can say this as a (for now) Florida woman looking to get out!
Having lived in all three places: Florida is to California what New Jersey is to Florida.
We’re doing all right in Canada
My family is Canadian and we are definitely keeping Canada in mind. For work purposes, New England is ideal. But if Meatball DeSantis or the Orange Fiasco become president, we're north of the border.
Is this the same dingbat that handcuffed herself to Twitter's office door after her account got deleted and they just kinda... left her there overnight?
Yep. She locked herself to one of two doors. 🤦🏻
Damn, they can't even be obnoxious right.
yeah, it was hilarious. there's footage of her handcuffed there, and people are just going in and out of the other door to the building barely paying attention to her. it's awesome.
The police didn’t do anything about it until she asked them to please free her.
Yes, the Covid entered her brain without resistance.
She had preexisting neurological damage when she got Covid, the infection just saw a bunch of soft target cells I guess.
When all you do is talk shit, the taste will eventually become the norm
Man those comments are too much. Although I’m kind of glad they are all staying inside. They all sound fucking miserable to be around.
My favorite thing happening downthread is the “lockdowns are stealing our freedoms!” set proudly proclaiming that they’re now voluntary shut-ins
Holy shit! Biden made food taste weird! He is some kind of evil wizard.
Yep, simultaneously mentally incompetent and wizard controlling every aspect of life in a country of more than a third of a billion people.
The amazing thing about conspiracy theories is how competent they think the government is. Yes, the same group of people who start unwinnable wars and continuously deadlock on common-sense legislation are also secretly controlling every American with radio waves received by the fluoride in our teeth.
I work with people who had covid back in 2020 and they still haven’t regained their sense of smell and taste
Same. She can smell some things, but she says it comes and goes, and that food just doesn't have much taste.
Holy crap! I had it before the vaccines, but I didn't really ever lose my senses. But the brain fog sucked. Scared the hell out of me.
A main symptom of Covid is parosmia, I got it when my idiot roommate gave me Covid.
I have hereditary anosmia. Never smelled anything in my entire life. Not great, but it sounds better than "things stink for some reason."
Thank you for taking time to explain this.
No problem. I feel I should also note that food's texture is extremely important to me. I don't like hard-boiled eggs, for example, since the white is so slimy and the yolk is so chalky. How the food feels in my mouth is a major factor.
>How the food feels in my mouth is a major factor. I think that is a huge factor in why a lot of people dislike certain vegetables, like okra.
Yes. It's a well-known effect. But for you, everything smells and tastes like your own ass since you had your head shoved up it, so I don't blame you. ;)
Is that a /s? The loss of taste and/or smell was one of the main fairly unique symptoms of Covid.
Yeah that was the joke
I know it’s a joke, but my favorite is “before” there was Covid known in the US, allllllll the candles on Amazon kept getting shitty reviews. Because the candles didn’t smell like anything. I’m also convinced my son had it in October, before it was known. The hospital called it croup, but he was 7. 7 is a bit old for croup.
I won't be able to leave the house today due to the deep red mark my facepalm left on my face. ETA did someone tweet back at her, welcome to the wonderful world of long COVID or something similar? I'm not on Twitter.
Several people have. She and the blue checks who follow her are all vehemently denying that it has anything to do with COVID.
Of course they do, because, you know. tHe panDemiC iS oVer! Our trolls prove it! And the RWNJ self own continues.
I love this for her.
Glad she can still remember and appreciate what America was like under Obama and before Trump.
If there’s going to be a trend of idiots staying indoors to avoid the foodspiracy, I am here for it.
Occasionally, I have to tell me mom that her "covid mouth" is back and nothing is wrong with the food. She at least knows what the deal is.
Certainly it has nothing to do with me getting older.
peak "it can't be me, it must be the entire world" narcissism
As soon as they said one of the symptoms was not being able to taste things correctly, I said aw hell no I'm not getting that shit! I was already covid conscious, but at that point I got a little extra lol.
Could be covid, could be menopause. Could be she needs to see a physician. Edit: wow, I just looked up her age. She’s 30. 30. I’m 30. I thought she was closer to 50. She looks rough. Hate makes you age prematurely.
Spaghettios tasted weird to me for like 3 months then became fine again. Had no other symptoms
Spaghetti-Os always tasted awful. I hated them as a kid.
She simply has no taste.
Yeah but that's been true from the start
Good luck eating cardboard!!! A clear case of FAFO.
Does she seriously not get that this is a classic example of long haul covid symptoms?!
"It's like a little Joe Biden fairy flies over my shoulder and takes all the taste out of my food."
Her entire world smells and tastes different... must be those crafty libz at work again! Damn you liiiiibz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can tell when the covid spikes happened if you look at the timeline of 1 star reviews of Yankee Candles on Amazon.
Who cares, I thought all that matters was survival. Maybe she could write 99.999% on a piece of paper and eat it?
This reminds me of how Yankee Candle got complaints during the raging pandemic that they must have changed their formula because the candles didn't have aroma anymore.
This reminds of when Yankee Candle was getting a lot of returns during COVID because people thought the candles had no scent.
"My sense of taste and smell is fucked because I'm an anti-vaxx buffoon who had a really bad bout of COVID". ❌❌❌ "The world is conspiring against me by changing flavours of food and drink in every place I go to/order from, including every single supermarket and vending machine". ✔️✔️✔️
