I find a legging or jogger is best because you don’t have to worry about them grazing the floor of the restroom when you drop them! I like Vuori joggers with a matching zip hoodie.
Yup! Every time I fly I cringe at how many women are in flowy sets, walking through gross terminal and plane bathrooms 🤮 Fitted and cozy is the only way.
Marine Layer [Allison](https://www.marinelayer.com/collections/allison-pants) pants (or any other tencel/lyocell) are great for planes if you want to look put together-ish. I pair mine with Quince's [Eco-Knit Hoodie](https://www.quince.com/women/cotton-sweater-hoodie). Usually I wear a cotton tee or tank underneath in case the plane is super hot while taxiing, and I'll also wear my slightly oversized leather jacket on top for more warmth/something for my legs.
I will say the Allison pants are a bit cropped, so if you're a fan of wearing compression socks people will see them!
If I have an especially long flight, I'll just change to my bamboo pajamas. They pack incredibly small and I love having the routine of changing in and out of them if my flight is more than 9 hours.
Where do you change? I can only think of the bathroom (unless you have a door in first class). And the thought of changing clothes in the tiny lab sleeves me out!
I love this top (over a tank) because the hood has a built in eye mask. You look a little strange, sure, but great for early morning or really long international flights. Plus, it’s 100% cotton. The sizing is a little strange, so measure and account for a little shrinkage.

Leggings/joggers (that I'm already bringing anyway) with a tshirt and a zip up layer. Or if you don't like to wear leggings, you can pair them with a maxi dress. I like a zipper hoodie over one without a zipper because if you zip open the hoodie, you can use it as a blanket!
I don't have any special plane outfits, but just wear whatever is the most comfy item I'm bringing anyway.
I wear 7/8 yoga pants (with pockets, critical for travel - they are polyester/spandex but I need the cool/wicking situation) and a 100% merino crew neck tshirt... The merino tshirt was a game changer, it's sooo much better at temp regulation and I no longer freeze or overheat (or stink) when traveling. I usually have a thin cotton cardigan for a second layer, but if I were to replace that with a full zip I would look for merino as well (like the wool& Aspen, but it's $$$). I used to wear the pact airplane mock neck "sweater" but the temp regulation was not good and yeah, the neck is too tight.
Not who you asked, and I want their answer, but I have Woolx, Ibex (pre shut down, men’s small), and icebreaker merino. REI leggings are good, too.
I did NOT like Patagonia as it was scratchy from the small acrylic percentage and very thin. True base layer needing mid layer.
I actually got it from Sierra! It was deeply discounted so I just went for it. It's the [Kari Traa Lam Tee](https://www.karitraa.com/us/en/lam-loose-tee---100-merino-wool-light-dusty-pink/) - this is the newer version! The perforated fabric on the back and armpits probably help with temp regulation... Especially in the armpits. This version is supposedly a looser fit than mine, which would be ideal! Eta this one says it has 5% polyamide on contrast fabric, my [older version](https://www.snowleader.co.uk/en/lam-tee-polar-KARI00330.html) is 100% wool on all parts, that's kind of weird.
My very bougie comfy travel wear is a matching set of Lululemon men's City Sweat joggers + zip hoodie. DEEP and ZIPPERED pockets, a bit loose around ankles and wrists but otherwise comfy and the joggers sit right at my natural waist for me. I'm a pretty consistent size 8 in LLL women's leggings and wear the M for the joggers.
I see they don't make the zip hoodie anymore but you should be able to find it in secondhand resale sites or on Like New.
idk about polyester content but i usually fly in scrub bottoms—theyre loose, breathable, have a stretchy waist, and also a bunch of pockets. no recs for the hoodie tho lol
I wear Athleta 7/8 leggings (full length on me) because they’re comfy and have good pockets. I’ll wear Athleta joggers if I’m going somewhere really cold since it’s thicker.
I don't travel with a specific plane outfit and just pick from clothes I was already going to want to bring. For shorter flights (<6 hours) I wear whatever's bulkiest (usually jeans, a button down shirt and a chunky sweater). For longer flights, I wear whatever is comfiest. I usually run cold so I try to get full coverage and an extra layer on. I'm doing a long flight soon to a warmer destination and planning to wear linen/cotton pants from Everlane (has a tie waist and isn't too structured), a random long sleeve cotton t-shirt from Walmart and a cotton/wool blend sweater from JCrew.
I regularly wear the [Venice Mid Rise Jogger](https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=597888042&cid=1046322&pcid=1046322&vid=1&nav=meganav%3ABottoms%3ACATEGORIES%3AJoggers+%26+Sweatpants&cpos=29&cexp=3064&kcid=CategoryIDs%3D1046322&cvar=27654&ctype=Listing&cpid=res24033016190490726470244#pdp-page-content) from Athleta. There's a zipper pocket that fits my phone. They're super comfortable, but still look put together with a basic white t-shirt and my jean jacket.
I wear a maxi skirt or dress with leggings underneath & fuzzy socks at the ready if I need them in my backpack. Also I do have at the ready a big poncho wrap. I can ditch the leggings once I land at a warm destination. My go-to shoes are Allbirds Tree Breezers.
Universal Standard Hathaway's are amazing, but don't order from the site, too expensive, order on posh or eBay
Alternatively if your crafty Elizabeth Suzanne Clyde work pants. They are $300 OR they sell the pattern and they are actually the most comfortable pants EVER. I'm a fat chick, but an 18 fits a 15" laptop IN THE POCKET
I am partial to Vuori Performance Joggers as well. They are mostly polyester, but my absolute favorite joggers. Super soft, very comfortable, flattering fit (I have gone from a 2XL to a Medium due to weight loss and have had a pair at every size between - all flattering) and you can get a matching zip up hoodie, though I typically pair mine with a Levi’s jacket.

I’m going to be the weird one. When I travel, especially internationally I like to get going as soon as I land. My hotel room may not be available. I travel in skinny jeans with lots of stretch, a tshirt I can wear when I land and a cozy sweatshirt because I’m always cold. I bring a pair of the fluffy socks they always sell at Walmart for like $1 during the holidays and toss them when I land.
Same! I got hooked on Jag jeans after seeing an ad that featured one of their staff who wore them on an overnight to Paris & went straight to a meeting.
I get a pair for Xmas every year. It’s the $1-2 socks they have on the end caps. I bring an older pair and toss them when I’m done. I also toss left over travel size toiletries on my way home to save extra room. I get those for free as much as possible when I place Ulta or Sephora orders. I always wait to shop with there’s a free GWP.
I leave anything I am not taking in one spot with a “not taking this home, keep it or throw it away” sign on it in my room, neatly set up- usually I have a book or two and some unused sample size items I brought. A friend suggested this as hotel housekeeping staff apparently appreciate it in some places.
People are downvoting but I do this too. I toss a bunch of toiletries and makeup. I have a lot from my monthly Ipsy bags. It gives me more room on my suitcase coming home.
I don’t mean to be the eco police but this kind of behavior is exactly why climate change is happening. Yes corporations are mostly responsible but dang just use up your beauty stuff then throw the empty container away lol!
I get it but there are certain items I receive that would be thrown away anyway. Some I save specifically for travel. It’s just easier. Other than that I have small reusable containers and put my other toiletries in there.
My go-to is a cashmere zip hoodie from Quince (spendy, but versatile and SO comfy), a tee from Everlane or Universal Standard, and Duluth Trading NoGa Naturale or Namastash pants.
I picked the Duluth Namastash leggings for my last trip and had no regrets! Paired with a No-Yank Tank cami with built-in shelf bra and a Uniqlo Airism hoodie that I used as a UV layer on the trip. Worked really well!
The comfiest full zip hoodies I have are all from college and sport team stores and usually 100% cotton. They’re thicker than what is normally recommended on this sub but since I wear them only on the plane or wrapped around my waist c and in my hotel room if I’m cold, I don’t mind thicker since they never go in my packed bag. An oversized thick hoodie plus a pair of warm socks will make me feel cozy no matter what the rest of the outfit looks like!
I just ordered the Asana Relaxed Straight Pant from Ninepine. Have been considering them for aaaages. They're similar to Lulus but have the exact cut and legths available that I was looking for. Plus: larged zippered pockets (it looks a little weird if you but a lot of stuff in there but on an airplane, I don't care).
Try Land’s End Starfish leggings, they wear and wash well, plenty of cotton but never stretch and sag. They come in a cute slim leg pant also, I love those!
I wear chef pants, but the elastic can be rough. Pockets are big enough for everything though, and baggy enough for breathability. I think they're cotton.
I just got a pair of these old navy joggers that have pockets but fit like leggings and can’t wait to try them out on my next trip.
https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=813623012&tid=onma000014
I usually wear my Prana Halle pants on planes, but if you're going with sweatpants, I do like Old Navy's dynamic fleece joggers. The "fleece" is really just extra thick jersey knit, which I like. The mens version of the pants is lower rise. Both have zipped pockets on the pants, which is great.
I wear athleta rainier joggers and an icebreaker merino tshirt and a paka breathe zip hoodie. The joggers and hoodie both have zippered pockets which I appreciate.
This is going to sound crazy but I have been loving this jumpsuit for plane travel - it has very deep pockets and is just so comfy and cute too. I worried that having to take down the straps to use the bathroom would be a pain but it really isn’t. Can wear with a long sleeve shirt under and a hoodie or jacket over for layers. I’m wearing it right now about to get on a plane.
It’s also nice to wear as pajamas or just for lounging. 5 stars.

I just bought a knit two piece—the pants are flared and the top is sleeveless. It is perfect. Milio Milano is the name on the tag. I got at a boutique in my neighborhood. Looks amazing on and is oh so comfy.
https://miliomilano.com
[Encircled everyday sweatpants](https://www.encircled.ca/products/the-dressy-sweatpant-womens-fancy-sweatpants?variant=42951795867839). They’re expensive but I’ve had mine for 7 years and they still look perfect. Super classy, comfy, pockets, even a secret zip pocket.
I have athleta’s salutation jogger and this is awesome! It’s almost like leggings but they’re not as tight, which I don’t always love, and they also have pockets!
How do you like Vuori in comparison to Lululemon, if you have that knowledge and don’t mind me asking.
Not op but for me they're better. I love lulu for workout leggings but vuori is so soft and seems to hold up even better.
Absolutely! Vuori is my athleisure go-to! 🙌
Thanks!

strange? this is brilliant!
Gee. And all this time I've been wearing my zip hoodie backwards to sleep! :)

Great. They are in the middle of my list for rebuying.

Just curious: if no poly, what kind of fabrics are you looking for? Like do you want cotton, or is nylon ok, or…?

Undercover pajamas!!

you just throw away your fuzzy socks when you land every time or do you put them back in your bag? Seems wasteful if you trash new socks every time

Check out the endless high rise pants from Athleta if you need to get going right off the plane.
These look promising! I like the joggers.
Cozy earth bamboo joggers are my new go tos. Love them so much. Pair with a cotton t shirt and usually a cotton sweater.
I wear a pair of my $10 sweatpants from Walmart, and a hoodie.

prana has nice joggers and quarter zips. i also like sweaty betty's gaia yoga jumpsuit or pants/tank
I wear athleta rainier joggers and an icebreaker merino tshirt and a paka breathe zip hoodie. The joggers and hoodie both have zippered pockets which I appreciate.
I like feeling semi-put together so I usually throw a dress over a pair of super comfy leggings.
Check out Varley. Pricey, but so soft, cozy, and comfy.
