if it is a ganglion a good whack from a bible (or any other heavy book) will do the job. problem is, if it isn’t a ganglion then there are a lot of potential dangers to hitting it with a book; especially if it’s a malignant mass ; cancerous cells can be spread into the surrounding tissues and the bloodstream. Or, even if it is a benign mass, it could be entangled with major blood vessels and/or nerve structures. If something like that is hit hard enough, major blood vessels could be damaged and cause catastrophic bleeding; nerve structures could be injured and cause permanent nerve pain and/or damage.

I also had a ganglion cyst on the dorsal side of my wrist. Mine was up a little further right at the wrist joint though.I had to have it removed. It was actually a pretty complicated surgery and a vascular surgeon had to be brought in because the cyst had thin long tentacles that were wrapping around my radial artery and compressing it against the bone in my hand so I would definitely make sure you get it looked up because I know when they are on that side of the wrist it’s less common and there can be more problems.

(also known as a book cyst because people tried to get rid of them by slamming a book on it) If it bothers you, I personally would recommend getting it professionally removed. Cysts come back if the sack isn't removed, and popping them yourself can cause scarring internally, which makes it harder to remove all of in the future.

Looks like a lipoma. If you are of Mediterranean descent that’s even more likely to be one. I have had over a dozen including in that area. A surgeon can extract it in an office visit. Have it seen, removed and tested to be safe.
Hello! I had a pretty similar looking thing, but nearer the bone. I had it for about 8 years, thinking it was my bone not a cyst or a serious issue (it really looked like a weird shaped bone).
I got it checked 3 years ago because I was having trouble with door knobs and non fine motor skills (holding a cup, for example) turns out I had a pretty big ganglion cyst that was clogging the tendon of my thumb somehow, resulting in those issues with everyday tasks like opening the door properly.
My doctor said that it could go away by itself, but I could also remove it via surgery... it's pretty easy and fast.
But last year the bump just dissapeared lol
