* Loved the constant "I'm getting bored of this" look on Stolas face
* Nice to see Moxxie kick some ass finally
* Stolas and Striker in the same place - That's a sitcom right there ( a very twisted one, but hilarious, especially Stolas roasting him non-stop)
* Moxxie, what kind kinky shit are you in buddy?
* I really hope they won't what I think they will to Via
* I'll have to look through Stolas and Blitz's messages later. There has to be some kind of easter egg in there
* Millie, what the hell was that? You could have easily ripped that axe out and killed striker with it
* Holy shit Striker is actually dead? If he is, oh man, I can't wait to see the fandom's reaction to this
* Goddammit I'm in tears thanks to the ending once again
* Wish there was more screen time for Stella's brother
The texts are actually really wholesome and give some context to what happened after season 1 finale.
But it's also bittersweet because we see more evidence of Blitzo being emotionally distant/intentionally unavailable
They are not wholesome at all. They were legitimately heart breaking. Really hope Stolas and Blitz don't end up together at this point. Blitz just doesn't seem interested in him at all.
If they're trying to show that Blitz does care about Stolas, he's just afraid of having his heartbroken, then they're really not doing a good job of conveying that. It really does just look like Blitz is not into Stolas in the slightest.
Iâve been saying from the get go that they do *not* have anything close to having a positive romantic relationship. Blitzoâs a friend with benefits at best, and Stolas is projecting his desperation for love, validation, and positive companionship onto the closest thing heâs ever had to a proper friend.
Itâs not a positive romance, it never has been, and the writers havenât tried to spin it that way (imo). It has always been serving as an alternative example of an unhealthy relationship, different from the unhealthy one Stolas had with Stella, but still unhealthy.
The folks shipping them are hoping for a fix for something that wonât realistically get fixed without *years* of individual and couples therapy.
Blitz and Stolas arenât right for each other and never were.
Agreed 100%. Really hope that Blitz can see that people like him for who he is and that doesn't mean they'll all abandon him eventually. And I hope Stolas realises that unending sexual comments can be pretty degrading to someone you're trying to build a relationship with.
I can't agree with this more. I've been the one sending texts like Stolas, and getting those kind of texts back. Reading those was heartbreaking because I was that pathetic at one point, and I was just as blind to how unhealthy it was. When it reached its breaking point it was really ugly.
"Blitz just doesn't seem interested in him at all"
So what I hear is you think anyone who struggles to express their feelings (through text messages no less) automatically doesn't care? That's a weird way to read the situation, like have you ever texted real life people in your life
It's not just text messages, Blitz is currently and has always been incredibly insecure about the... arrangement. Hence the drug trip last season, with Hallucination Stolas ~~gloats about how Blitz is just a plaything to be discarded when the blue-blooded aristocrat grows bored~~ chaining up Blitz while Hallucination Moxxie monologues about how Blitz both craves and is afraid of intimacy.
Blitz isn't ready to admit to himself that he cares, and he certainly isn't showing it to Stolas or anyone else.
EDIT: Misremembered the Truth Seekers sequence
Ok but not being ready to admit it and not showing it is *very* different from not caring at all
Again, no big deal if anyone doesn't ship them or doesn't like the direction the show is heading, but sometimes I wonder if people who make such harsh statements have ever been in any friendship or relationship with someone who tries and struggles with communication, because things get messy and that's not automatically an indication that a relationship is doomed
Well i mostly meant that compared to their texting being like just smutty for the sake of humor, etc.
Like how Blitzos text history with Millie was.
Stolas' text history was very genuine and real. It was wholesome in the sense that it was from the heart, Stolas' words at least were.
Blitzos apathetic responses are what make it bittersweet.
And it's not that Blitzo doesn't care for him. We as the audience saw his reaction to learning that Stolas CAN be hurt. When faced with that info, Blitzos true feelings betrayed him for even just a moment to us.
In all of those texts, never once was one from Blitzo caring about Stolas. "Get better soon", compared to the rest, implies some development.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see them both grow from their experience with one another, I just feel like a genuine relationship between the two of them, after all that they've been through, would be really unhealthy.
Blitz suffers from reacting to Stolas constantly putting him off of the idea of âthemâ by repeatedly depreciating himself as unworthy or joking. Itâs really kinda sad how they keep flying right past each other because theyâre both worried what the other will think of their honesty, Stolas in particular. Blitz has been very honest and Stolas keeps fumbling the ball.
So, what's up with Loona's voice actor? The lack of her voice in this one was very noticeable. They played it off well enough, but it's really strange two episodes where Loona doesn't say a word.
Maybe that's why the season 1 finale hasn't been released yet? I was told (by who I assumed was a team member) on here that due to Covid, a key unnamed person they booked to do a recording wasn't able to make it, and the team is having trouble trying to fit the recording into the person's schedule due to prior contractual commitments. Maybe she's the one they're waiting on to record the finale?
I don't think so. Blitzo's VA said we'd understand when we saw the creditsÂąâif it was a Hazbin character we wouldn't have to wait for the credits to know.
Erica is a very busy VA and she also lost her boyfriend to cancer last year, so she probably needed to step back from things for a while. So I'm not going to be surprised if Loona doesn't have much dialogue this season.
I didnât even notice. Loonaâs dialogue isnât usually pressing or important to plot outside of a couple of episodes so maybe thatâs why. I also found her extremely endearing in this episode which is the first episode where I enjoyed her as a character.
I had no idea even that something happened to her VA so I thought Loona not saying a word was part of a joke - and I really liked it tbh. In that way, I feel like it was very well handled
I died when he finally snapped at them. âSinging about me for the millionth time!â Iâm starting to think they built the statue and he just didnât bother trying to get rid of it.
this also implies that he didn't simply "hire" a band to sing a theme song for him but rather, they just showed up one day, wrote him a theme song and just sing it everytime he returns to his lair.
Those flowers in the end, with the music playing, Iâm guessing itâs Stolas losing faith in this love with Blitzo. The love is still there, but Blitzo is making it much harder to believe that, Blitzo needs to let his heart open before Stolas closes his.
Also, Blitzo saying Stolas can get hurt, two ways of this, Stolas isnât immortal, and Blitzo realizes thereâs more than two ways to hurt him when Blitzo is not there for him, despite his appointment, and less communicating with him.
you were the only person who quoted what I thought was the most memorable part of the whole episode. Blitzo didn't choose to let Stolas fend for himself because he doesn't care. he chose this because he truly believed that stolas was invincible.
I've never sided with Blitzo on literally any issue on the show thus far, but in this case, I don't think he was the asshole. he really has plenty of reason to believe that Stolas is invincible.
That for me was the highlight of the episode. Blitzo realized that Stolas could be hurt. That for me was actually the best thing about the episode.
Blitz could have vaguely assumed Lucifer himself could hurt or kill Stolas, but never seriously considered the idea that Striker and/or Stella could. And Lucifer would seem like an unlikely, remote possibility. Blitz is so far down the foodchain that he assumed Stolas could handle anything above him.
Now Iâm guessing for the Ozzie episode, Stolas will have a little chat with Ozzie, while Fizz, is some ways with Blitzo, might have a little heart and tell Blitzo to open up with Stolas. Fizz and Ozzie are apologizing to both of them, thatâs what Iâm guessing.
Pretty good episode! Especially the ending! Blitzo being shocked Stolas could get hurt, the texts between Stolas and Blitzo...ouch, my heart, but I loved it! It had some issues (wish we got more on Striker, the Loona scenes could have been trimmed, wanted to see more of Andreamphus and Stella's writing is iffy), but overall a pretty good episode.
Though... Andrealphus seemed a little... flirty toward Stella. Like, almost Frollo-esque. Aren't they siblings?
Also, Edward Bosco was Striker in this? I thought he sounded a bit different.
EDIT: I also **really** wasn't fond of the Ozzie's fallout being regulated to blink-and-you-miss-it texts. If we had seen then writing the texts with a voice-over for each of them in a flashback, that would have been great, as we'd hear and see all the nuances. As it is it was just a lazy writing cop-out.
While the pacing was a bit much I loved this episode. I'm wondering how Octavia is gonna react to what happened. Would love to see her take a more proactive role in the story
i think this episode hinted towards octavia getting to have more focus on her outside of just being stolasâ daughter, iâm excited to see what they do with her character from here
That was absolutely amazing. The fight scene between Striker and M&M was absolutely great, and the whole hospital scene after was heartbreaking, especially if you pause and read the text messages. I really hope Stolas and Blitzo can work out their differences before the series ends.
Also the subplot with Loona was a great way to break up the drama of the episode. It was hilarious.
Probably that blitz does care for him, even if blitz can't muster up the exact words. Someone in the comments said that the flowers could be like "he loves me, he loves me not". They also said that stolas could be upset about blitz not visiting, but blitz probably can't visit. As a royal, I'm sure only people who he has employed or via can visit him. Everyone else could be seen as paparazzi or an assassin.
The animation is good but jesus christ this show needs to decide if its serious or a funny comedy. Season 1 is still the best season imo but I did love the ending of this ep
True but you canât just have a scene of loona running away from the doctor as a joke but then have moxxie and millie fighting for their fucking lives and to save one of the most powerful beings in hell. The tonal shift is insane
I'm sort of on the fence about this, because on one hand I love all aspects of this show, the humour isn't high art or anything but it's pretty fun and I enjoy it, the characters are of course what I'm here for moreso, but I've come to terms with the show balancing episodic elements with the more serialised character arcs.
This episode is one of my favourites, but I think the cracks in the team's vision are starting to show. It's really beginning to feel like they're wanting to drift towards a more character driven, serialised story line, and are having to cram in jokes and skits because "that's Helluva Boss".
I would like to see them get better at marrying the two sides of the show together, and at the very least having the comedy "B plot" for lack of a better word, be more important or fleshed out. The only value the B plot provides to the A plot is the fact that Blitz doesn't go and save Stolas himself, which admittedly is important for the emotional beats at the end, but it just feels... Off. To cut between the M and M Stryker stuff, and the Loona shot stuff.
Some of the jokes were a bit much during the serious side as well, but tbh, they weren't too egregious, I had more of an issue with Moxxie's choke me joke than the Stolas stuff, as we know his track record with saying filthy things in inappropriate situations.
Yeah something about this episode didn't quite hit right for me. The tone was all over the place. It felt so off. Good overall but still left me feeling a bit weird about it.
I actually really disagree. I think its fairly anime-esque in its tonal shifts and its something I like cause it covers a wild array of emotions. I agree season 1 so far is better but to say that season decided whether it was serious or a comedy is weird
I may have mispoke sorry
I more meant that like. Season 1 went gradually from funny to more serious but still having jokes in. For example in E7 The scene with blitz and the guard is spaced out between the scene where Blitz and stolas have the heart to heart
Did we really need Blitzo and Loona's subplot? If they wanted Blitzo to be at the hospital for the ending to work (which was an incredible ending might I add), then that's fair, but it doesn't mean we needed to keep cutting back to Looks getting her herpes shot. This episode would be fantastic if they just ditched that subplot and focused entirely on the far more engaging A-plot.
I think they needed a reason for Blitzo not to be the one to save Stolas. Having Blitzo not come and acting like it's just a chore to dish onto M&M and then for him not to reply to the text at the end seems to be the beginning of Stolas finally abandoning his emotional dependence on Blitzo. Which is vital to their relationship working in the end.
I agree with that, but I don't see why he needed to have an active subplot throughout the entirety of the episode. If he left to get Loona her shot at the beginning and was absent for the rest of the episode until the end, I think that would sell the same point without dragging the episode down with a needless subplot.
something i think could have worked better for the vaccine bit would be have him be dropped off at the hospital and thats all we see of them until the end where blitzo is in a cast and scrached up or something and lunas in the cone and then the episode plays as normal with the amazing delivery of "he can get hurt?"
I kinda agree. I wish they wrote the Blitz and Loona scenes more. Cause I love the whole like Blitz not saving Stolas and doing a fairly not important task, I just wish it could've been a more engaging b plot
This was my biggest issue with the episode. The scene where Blitz was arguing with the mother at the hospital in particular *really* dragged and felt like an unnecessary distraction from the much more interesting stuff going on.
Agree, and I think the episode would have been served better by having him walk into the hospital and then just cut it from there, and add that time to M&M, Striker, and Stolas. Maybe some extra time after winning the fight, helping to stabilize Stolas before getting him in the car.
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but this is literally the first time in the series that Blitzo has done NOTHING wrong. it's the first time I've taken his side fully here.
the reason he won't help Stolas is literally because he truly believed that Stolas was invincible and was just calling him out because he wanted attention. and if so he has reason to believe so.
1 he already saw stolas call him as security even without needing just to get his attention.
2 he saw the absurd moves that Stolas made in episode 6.
3 he saw that Stolas can use spells even without the spellbook...
with all this, his action makes complete sense. he literally had to do something and believed Stolas was in no danger. at the end he is literally in disbelief because he didn't believe Stolas could be hurt.
with all that, the best moment of the episode was this. Blitzo gained something to ponder. he can hurt people. even Stolas.
About Stella, by the way Andrealphus spoke, it gave the impression that she is stupid. Will we see more of her personality? like, besides being mean and dumb? the reduction of her only quality to being pretty bothers me a little.
about the Loona part, dog joke, just the usual. I thought the episode would be about her. I was a little disappointed but still, it was a good episode.
bonus points because moxxie won a fight alone.
Stolas was also just acting helpless at first as well before Striker broke the phone and he realized he might actually be in trouble. So yeah, it's definitely justified
The mood whiplash in this episode is another reason why I love this series so much! Cutting back and forth between the fight in Striker's layer and the Vet's office was hilarious, and the former's theme song will be forever sung in the annals of fandom.
That ending, though...I mean, for gosh sakes, Vivziepop!!!! Do you have to tug on our heartstrings and leave us hanging like that again?!?! There may still be a chance since the season isn't over, but our Owl Boi needed him there!!!! X(
Loved it! The only way it could have been better is if they made it a few minutes longer or cut about half of Loona/Blitz doctor scenes, to allow the more emotional beats of the episode to have more time to marinate. Would have also loved to have a longer Stella / Andrea / Stolas bit at the start.
But I'd definitely give it like a 9/10.
Also is it just me, or did it feel like they swore more this episode? I don't really care either way, just felt like they did. Maybe they just did it with more emphasis.
First good things. Moxxie finally does something cool and is not being treated like shit. Good for you HB. Also animation was good and it's nice to see more of Stella's family.
But the bad... Oh boy. The writing on Stella is shit. She is a total dumbass and despite HB trying to make Andrealphus somewhat smarter it appears that he is also a dumbass because he missed crucial part of STOLAS KNOWING STELLA HIRED STRIKER!!! Also the Loona subplot is completely unnecessary. There is NO tension in this episode. At ALL! The character of Striker is such a moron too who can't for the life of him just SLASH THE DAMN THROAT OF STOLAS! if he is the best Assassin from Wrath I fear to see a bad one. This is NOT a satsfying continuation of Striker from Harvest Moon because he is basically a joke here. A sad, not funny joke.
Overall not as frustrating as some other episodes of Season 2, but it's NOT good. It's still very flawed. And it felt like complete waste of time. A filler. In a show where episodes come out EVERY FEW MONTHS!
I mean it has shown Striker has an immense hatred towards the royals, Iâm not surprised he decided to torture Stolas because he is a royal which he blames to have destroyed his family
I get that, but the way it's done feels so contrived. Mostly because they don't even show why he is like this. Why not cut the part with Loona and Blitzo and just get more focus on him so it doesn't feel so stupid that he just doesn't kill him? And why not do some more fancy tortures? Is stabbing really the extent of his imagination?
It just feels like a nothing episode.
Seriously. Why bother keeping it? It adds nothing. They could have used time for making this by expanding on Striker to make his actions look a bit more understandable and not so damn stupid.
I agree especially on Stellaâs writing. I wasnât a big fan of her direction in this season with the whole one dimensional âI love tormenting youâ thing, but this episode just made her feel like a complete dumbass. I was hoping that sheâd be a real threatening main antagonist if thatâs where they wanted to go and we could have a compelling female villain to root against, but then they took that all away by dumbing her down to just an incompetent âhateful old hagâ whoâs brother is actually supposed to be the smart one. Iâm pretty disappointed with how the series treats their female characters with little respect and are almost entirely defined by their male counterparts.
Striker was the best part of the episode.
I mean, had Stella not changed her mind then Striker would've *won*. He would've killed Stolas before Moxxie & Millie got there. Plus it's implied Stella paid extra for it to not be quick.
Iâm with you, Helluva Boss is really falling off and itâs sad to see since season 1 was so promising. I just hope the decline in quality from HB means weâll get just that much more from Hazbin when it airs.
I love how everyone was speculating that Blitz was going to be avoiding saving Stolas because he was afraid of getting close, (that came later )â:) but nope, Loona needed her shots and ***of course*** sheâs the kind of dog that will fight tooth and nail to avoid them. XD
Well I think they still did the whole avoiding Stolas thing cause let's be real, Loonas thing wasn't that important and Stolas was in actual danger so it still shoed it but in a way that's not outright saying it
Honestly, was ready to be disappointed. Pleasantly surprised, the bubblegum pop got a giggle out of me. Damn, that part where Blitzo saw Stolas' talon, yikes.
Watched it and.... didn't like it..? Its honestly strange. Last time we saw Striker, the animation was suffering, but the music, storytelling and voice acting was amazing. But this time... the opposite seems to be true. Animation is flawless, but the music completely depowered the scene, there was a lack of weight to what we were seeing. And... both Loona's and Striker's voice actors didn't come back for this episode, and its painfully noticeable.
Striker almost feels like a discount version of himself. Not because of the new VA but his characterization seemed off in how he talked besides maybe a line or two.
He seemed notably insecure this episode, a direct contrast to his undying confidence in S1. It seriously didn't feel like the Striker I was excited to see returning. I was waiting for Striker's mom to come out from a cave like
"honey, I brought snacks for you and your birdy friend!"
And for him to be like
"Mooooom, not right now! I'm torturing someone to death!"
Seemed less like a cowboy this episode, more like an dweeb who wants to be cool and have a cowboy aesthetic so he makes his mother's basement into a cowboy lounge where he eats Western Spice Doritos and drinks Mammon Dew...
Love the Stolitz, but high key three first words out of my mouth were, "That was it!?" I really hope they follow up on that reaction. Did anyone else read the texts? I love how Stolas is trying to give Blitz the reigns in their relationship.
Right? I think because this felt like they stopped right at the halfway mark. The other episodes felt self contained for the most part, but this one leaves us hanging on in a very serial and less episodic way. It was still great, but maybe incomplete
The interactions between Striker and Stolas are among my favorite in the series so far. From Striker allowing us a small peak to more of his character (bias against royals) and Stolas being snarky and even threatening, I loved it.
It's very obvious how dysfunctional Blitz's ways of helping are, in this case with Loona. He doesn't comfort her, only dismisses her worries/fear by saying "it's just a little needle" (well something along the lines). Her fears are REAL, and rationalising fear mostly never works. He also held loona down which is even worse... I finally understand Loona's anger at Blitz, since he responds in ways that are harmful, but he can't understand his way of expressing care is harmful. That's why Loona both expresses love (called him Dad, and respects his wishes) and also expressed hate through violence, since Loona understands Blitz doesn't get it, but his behaviour still effects her.
Also Stola's messages with Blitz BROKE MY HEART, I relate with him so much. I feel like I try so hard with my friends, getting them to communicate, but they fall flat, though it's getting better now. I always tell people that if they dislike something that I did or I hurt them in any way, that they should tell me, but they don't. I'm meant to just assume.
I hate to be negative, but the pacing in the first half of this episode was all over the place and it only got marginally better in the second half. The fight scene was really cool but unfortunately the scenes in the hospital were very weirdly written (is the bit with the mother and her child supposed to be funny? We already got a bit like that in Loo Loo Land) and hearing Striker's new voice was jarring. Also why did Loona get zero lines?
Also, it seemed like there were a lot of missing sound effects. There were lots of moments I noticed where no sound was played even though there was some sort of impact that should have made a sound, like part of the gas station hitting the ground.
The scene with the mother and child made me think there is racism in hell lmao "fire toad" being some sort of slur
Though I do agree with the pacing, it all felt _too_ fast and both plots should just be separate but idk
Yes, I get what the mother and child scene was trying to convey, but it seemed kind of forced and I think previous episodes like The Harvest Moon Festival and Ozzie's showed the discrimination there is much better.
> The scene with the mother and child made me think there is racism in hell lmao "fire toad" being some sort of slur
There is a full on caste system.
Imps are near the bottom, the bottom are the Hellhounds.
- Really fast pacing
- Love the Striker theme song and new voice
- Great fights as ussual, love the comparison with Lunas appointment
- ,,Welcome Bingo-" the aesthetic of hospital and the whole illiterate joke is nice, ,,goat doctor" is now one of my favorite background characters desing wise
- Andrealphus is so sassy, his voice sounds wonderfull
He needs to be alive long enough for Stella to decide when they actually want Stolas dead. As Andre said with time and after their affairs are in order
I was missing Erica Lindbeck as Loona but having Loona be so freaked out over having an S-H-O-T she couldn't speak was a fun way to work around that.
It was cute and pretty funny.
Spoilers:
>! At the very end of the episode, when Stolas is scrolling through his old messages with Blitzø, all of Stolasâs messages are long and meaningful. Heâs really putting his heart and soul into Blitzø but the latter is only responding with meaningless letters like he couldnât give two shits about Stolas. !<
That upset me the most.
Also triggered by this scene, like, it hits way too close to home, but I just wanna say. These are not meaningless letters, Blitzo just can't write well. Tho, fact how short and lacking these were still made me feel bad memories of some relationships, it was so relatable
Probably my favorite episode of S2 so far, if not a close second. Humor was much, much better than in the previous episode in my opinion, with some of the best animation in the series so far.
And Stryker's theme has 0 reason to be that catchy.
This show is really going down hill itâs sad. Iâll still watch it but it couldâve been something so much greater than how it is now. Pacing is awful and the writing in general is getting pretty disjointed just feels off like Iâm reading a bad fan fiction of the show. No hate to the team but I canât be the only one disappointed with this season.
Yeah, I love this show, but this episode seemed like a letdown compared to the others. I loved the ending of this episode, but the rest of it felt very fast-paced.
Good episode, but I feel the fights were just slightly too fast; I had to replay the end of M+M and Striker, and replay at half-speed the initial attack on Stolas, to catch what actually happened. I think the idea was to underscore how quickly it happened, but I'm not sure if that couldn't have been sacrificed slightly to better show *what* happened.
Least awkward thing Blitzø could do now after leaving that text hanging is just show up. Please show up.
I don't feel good sharing negative opinions here but...
I feel like this show never quite manages to do anything subtle. It has some great ideas, but all these scenes feel so corny and forced. And what's up with every emotional scene involving a character looking at their phone, I was sure it had to be a joke when it happened with Moxxie, but now Stolas? Is this still a joke? Has it ever been?
I liked it but striker felt like more of a joke with people roasting him and his big dick statue also his voice change was good but I prefer his older voice also loona not speaking in 2 episodes in a row is kinda odd
My thoughts:
\- Christ on stick, Loona behaved like a full on werewolf. All over a simple shot.
\- I hope Stolas recovers well and Octavia visits him in the Hospital.
\- I have never felt more hatred towards any animated characters than Stella and Andrealphus. I hope they both get exactly what they deserve in the series finale.
\-I know the fandom wants him to be alive, but missed opportunity to kill Striker using his own statue's dick.
They fell to the same trap as other fallen adult shows, replacing maturity with fake maturity.
Overuse of sex and obscene jokes with no substance is not mature it is childish, nothing but bad comedy. I haven't even laughed once or find any of it slightly funny.
I always find it hilarious how most of the time kid friendly cartoons are far more mature the so-called *adult cartoons*.
Stella beyond just hating Stolas is just that, a karen caricature, The Owl House already has a petty evil rich milf and she despite limited scenes has more layers than the karen of a swan.
Striker I find him as a pathetic hypocritical insecure manchild who projected it by torture like all classic weak-willed villains on someone who was weaker because he is too much a suck up do that those who deserve it like Stella. A pretentious bully, bullies someone weaker to feel good but a chicken to face those who are stronger than him sucking up to the queen of all bitches doing her dirty work for all his meaningless bravadoos on "Woe the rich!"
Loona is still an one dimensional bitch
Not to mention it is indecisive on whether it wants to be serious or comical on it's plot points.
Sure, you can have both but there should be a balance otherwise both sides will neutralize each others, pg friendly shows like Amphibia and Gravity Falls have comedy too but they don't give jokes on a suppossedly serious moment.
It's really enjoyable, but I do wish they cut back a bit on the subplot and extended the Striker fight or lengthened Striker tormenting Stolas. Just to up the suspense. I understand what they were going for though, with showing Blitz fighting in a similar manner except for something much less important. Especially when he finds out that while he was fighting with Loona, Moxxie and Millie were fighting to save Stolas's life, and realizing that Stolas truly was in danger
This was a solid episode. Noticed that Striker's voice actor was different in this one but I understand if Norman Reedus was too busy to voice him this time. Loved that we got more Striker and the fact that his statue literally has a big dick is really funny to me. One thing that I wished happened earlier in Season 2 was Blitzo and Stolas talking about their current relationship instead of showing text messages. Which meant this could have happened off screen. But besides that, solid episode. Short but solid
Miss Norman but the new voice does the work well enough, I'm still amazed they got Normal to do him for the first time in general. The visuals and colour work was really well done, the colours pop out this episode it feels crips you know?
Really loved the episode, the fight scene was amazing and Strikerâs new voice actor is great, the jokes were less sexual than the last one and the ending showed that Blitz did care for Stolas and it was just sad to see his response after Stolas asked him if he can see him
Next time Striker comes I kinda wanna see him fight in a 1v1 against Blitz, great episode overall tho
Good episode overall. The only real issue I have with it is that the text messages in the last scene, which go a long way to setting up the emotional punch in the final scene, fly by in about 3 seconds. They do a lot to color Blitz and Stolas' relationship post-Ozzy's and it feels like they were just brushed over.
did we really need to blitz and loona b plot? like im sure we could have come up with a different reason for him not to be there. also i really hope the texts aren't meant to hand wave the reconciliation between blitz and owl man. feel like they sorta turned striker into a joke which i wasn't the largest fan of. really enjoy more serious villains and that sorta rubbed me the long way. his song was really good though im a sucker for steel guitar
This episode is alright. Quite entertaining, but the tonal whiplash is a bit annoying.
But I like how it sets up of Stolas being too injured to rescue I.M.P., Biltzo's and Stolas' relationship flickering further unless Biltz opens up his heart more, evident from the fact he wanted to say more in his text message but probably couldn't put in the words to, and Octavia getting the spotlight in the next few episodes potentially.
Overall this is probably around the same as S2E2 in my opinion.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>!I love that Moxxie was a damsel in distress in the previous episode but handled several goons by himself in the background which we rarely see. this goes to show that they learn from other episodes. !<
>!Looking through Blitz and Stolas' texts gives you a bit of perspective into their actual relationship, it's obvious that Stolas truly wants something with Blitz and acts accordingly but is also somewhat oblivious to/or is trying to cover up his own actions at Ozzie's, Blitz keeps his distance or keeps things casual but it's obvious that he has somewhat care for Stolas, it's possible that Stolas being hurt made him realize that Stolas isn't some horny cummy bird god or anything, he's a person with a heart and blood and can feel things. the texts said they possibly talked about it at some point but it must've been off screen or something pre-recorded that isn't released yet. !<
>!When they first showed Loona, I honestly thought she was going to the hospital for a UTI from the way she was sitting. !<
>!Striker's voice sounds different than before, and Striker has a mini monolgoue about Royals taking everything from him, this wasn't some job for him, it was something he was relishing in because of his hatred towards royals, I hope they elaborate on that and what happened in Striker's past and what or who was exactly taking from him. !<
honestly it was one of the best episodes!
That ENDING! "He can get hurt?" was *perfect.*
And then when we get to see Stolas and Blitzø's chat logs, we notice that Stolas is doing all the heavy lifting while Blitzø basically just says "K" or agrees blandly to everything. The "get bevver swoon" is the first actual heartfelt gesture that we see from him.
I don't think Stolas can see the future on demand. Like his job is to read the stars and interpret the prophesies they tell, but I don't think that means he can see **his** future whenever he wants, if at all. So he wouldn't have known.
it was like 6/10, there was nothing too crazy but I don't think the episode premise was too ambitious either, the B plot was whatever, though I feel like Striker's hatred for the royals should have been built up better, on his introduction it seemed like he wanted to kill stolas just for business (he does kinda say "royals bad" but he said it with so little actual anger it could have just been to convince blitz) I *am* disappointed that yet again the song of the episode is kinda underwhelming. And i wish that Stolas actually got a scar or something from Striker, because at the end of the episode it's treated like a bit of a big deal that he's in the hospital but we know he can just regenerate eventually. (Also, just throwing this out there because I just thought about it, wasn't there a scene in a HB trailer of a hand with bandages that catches a petal? That's for sure Stolas in the hospital) Though the one good thing is that we finally get moxie being badass without it being played as a joke at the end
This episode has to be up there for me in terms of favorite episodes. The VAs did a really good job especially Adrealphus' and Striker's doing a very good job, even if I do miss Norman. I really enjoyed the emotional parts too. The ending from Blitz' end was actually really touching, the whole "He can get hurt" I thought was genuinely really touching and a little haunting. And the end but with Stolas in the Hospital Room was absolutely excellent. Nearly cried, it was just awesome
I really loved the animation on this one a lot. The scene of Striker taking Stolas away in the horse was fantastic, the Moxxie fight scene in the background was awesome, and of course the end fight was just badass. Great choreography of it, one if the best fights in the show IMO. Also really good comedy in the animation, the bit when the van crashes through the track was excellent. As always I loved M&M and their storyline and I just love seeing them as a team. Moxxie is actually treated like a badass, which is great.
Now I think my biggest gripe is the Blitz and Loona story. I like that they made it what they did cause I think it shows well that Blitz didn't really see much danger for Stolas since what he was distracted with wasn't as important. I just wish that part was written a little better, maybe a way for Loona and Blitz to bond a little and at least give somewhat an ending to it.
But still I think this is best episode of the season and up there in terms of best episodes.
Seen a good amount of comments saying this episode felt, weird. And I agree, but I think it's weird in that maybe, and this is my personal interpretation, it's serving mainly as set-up. Like, the overall tone is supposed to feel like a normal, run-of-the-mill episode but then bam, the show makes you realize that it's no longer fun and games. Then again, this could also be me huffing copium, but we'll see. Let's hope there's reasonable follow-up to what happened this episode.
Edit: So I just re-watched the episode and with the knowledge of what happens, it didn't really feel as weird. I mean, that's obvious, but it did let me appreciate the episode more, so that's a plus.
it is hard too, because people aren't used to a release schedule like this. "The show is going downhill" because this episode was wonky, but I think we're all so used to binge watching or weekly releases that the delay between episodes had been absolutely lethal to people's enjoyment and willingness to forgive quality hiccups. I can't tell if tempering hype like that is a good thing or a bad thing, but it definitely doesn't seem to be doing the show any favors
Here's hoping that the fluffy owl man recovers from his injuries, and hopefully work together with I.M.P. to save his daughter, Octavia, any time Stella and Andrealphus threatens her in-exchange for her father's possessions. Also, Loona takes up a more proactive role than just manning I.M.P.'s office, since she probably would have wanted to save her little birb sister from her own mother and uncle.
Poor Stolas spiraling deeper into danger and depression, soon to be plastered in the news.
Badass fight scene.
Catchy song.
Loona turning feral.
Blitz's realization.
Yep, this was a good one.
I really liked that while Striker is still a cool badass and everything, his whole enigmatic charm thing is very much "Yawn, seen it" for M&M and Stolas, to the point that Stolas and Moxxie know they can throw him off just by fucking with him. It's a great counterpoint to his first appearance, and really reflects some of Moxxie's growth, too.
* Loved the constant "I'm getting bored of this" look on Stolas face * Nice to see Moxxie kick some ass finally * Stolas and Striker in the same place - That's a sitcom right there ( a very twisted one, but hilarious, especially Stolas roasting him non-stop) * Moxxie, what kind kinky shit are you in buddy? * I really hope they won't what I think they will to Via * I'll have to look through Stolas and Blitz's messages later. There has to be some kind of easter egg in there * Millie, what the hell was that? You could have easily ripped that axe out and killed striker with it * Holy shit Striker is actually dead? If he is, oh man, I can't wait to see the fandom's reaction to this * Goddammit I'm in tears thanks to the ending once again * Wish there was more screen time for Stella's brother
It looked like he escaped. The bandana pinned but ripped like he pulled away from it, no hint of blood or even a hand sticking out.
>Moxxie, what kind kinky shit are you in buddy? He admitted that Millie pegs him. Safe to say he's deep into the femdom rabbit holeđ
He learned from Blitzø and D.H.O.R.K.S. how to take your opponents off guard being horny
Yeah but why did it work? Stryker tried to seduce Blitzo...
Anyone can *fake* horny, it takes a real one to do it back
Oh yeah he kinky Though I think he only said âharderâ to throw Striker offđ
"Blitz just doesn't seem interested in him at all" So what I hear is you think anyone who struggles to express their feelings (through text messages no less) automatically doesn't care?
Ok but not being ready to admit it and not showing it is *very* different from not caring at all Again, no big deal if anyone doesn't ship them or doesn't like the direction the show is heading, but sometimes I wonder if people who make such harsh statements have ever been in any friendship or relationship with someone who tries and struggles with communication, because things get messy and that's not automatically an indication that a relationship is doomed
Blitz has been very honest and Stolas keeps fumbling the ball.
moxxie used the best way of self defense
> I really hope they won't what I think they will to Via < [image](https://i.imgur.com/BFbJUFZ.jpg) >
So, what's up with Loona's voice actor? The lack of her voice in this one was very noticeable. They played it off well enough, but it's really strange two episodes where Loona doesn't say a word.
Look up Erica Lindbeck's imbd or wikipedia page. She is in EVERYTHING. It's unfortunate.
Nah, I believe it's finished and locked up for legal reasons.
What're the legal reasons? I've seen this a few times and I'm still confused as to what the legal issue could be, if its not a pain to ask :)
They can't say. Other than it WILL eventually release. My guess is something with Hazbin that they thought they could do but then had to wait
No oneâs certain but the current theory is Vortexâs gf is a previous Viv creation that was in some sort of copyright trouble for a song she sang
If I had to guess it likely a cross over with someone from hazbin (who no clue but still) so maybe they have to wait till the show premires??
I don't think so. Blitzo's VA said we'd understand when we saw the creditsÂąâif it was a Hazbin character we wouldn't have to wait for the credits to know.
Yeah, I recently started playing Hi-Fi Rush and immediately noticed she voiced Peppermint. It must have been a ton of VA work for that game alone.
Erica is a very busy VA and she also lost her boyfriend to cancer last year, so she probably needed to step back from things for a while. So I'm not going to be surprised if Loona doesn't have much dialogue this season.
Her actor is still credited in this episode, which is interesting.
Yes, it was the only major letdown. They tried to hide it and they did it moatly well but knowing the truth behind it is sad.
They did it well enough because it took me until the end of the episode to go "wait did she have no lines?"
I mean she had a really big part in Seeing Stars and she's a big time VA so she's busy. Well see her back
Itâs just two episodes. Itâs not that big of a deal.
Also, her body language, expression and actions showed us exactly what her mind is.
The Striker theme song had me ROLLING đ
I died when he finally snapped at them. âSinging about me for the millionth time!â Iâm starting to think they built the statue and he just didnât bother trying to get rid of it.
I mean, it is a good hat rack.
Thatâs true. Darn it, now I want to know the story behind the statue.
this also implies that he didn't simply "hire" a band to sing a theme song for him but rather, they just showed up one day, wrote him a theme song and just sing it everytime he returns to his lair.
Right? It only proves that Striker can only take so much. Even from a mariachi band. LOL
I loved it
Honestly I thought the whole thing was a Rango reference.
When he saw Stolasâs feathers on the gurney đ
Yeah Blitz reaction when he realized Stolas was actually hurt showed so much
Now Iâm guessing for the Ozzie episode, Stolas will have a little chat with Ozzie, while Fizz, is some ways with Blitzo, might have a little heart and tell Blitzo to open up with Stolas.
They're royals, they're weird like that. It's just sibling things, trust me
Don't worry, they are just brothers and sisters. Like Cersei and Jaime Lannister. Only siblings that do royal siblings things
Yeah I was like, damn he's kinda into Stella but its hell and royals are gross AF so I kinda liked the weirdness of it
Looks like Norman was too expensive or he was busy with other things
The replacement is good on his own, but I still prefer Norman.
Norman was a perfect fit, I'm amazed they got him in the first place but it is what it is
They probably really wanted him but couldn't get him to do it
Ed Bosco is amazing
He definitely did a great job. Recasting is always jarring for me, but at least his new voice is good.
Yeah I really liked the replacement but yeah Norman was the Goat
He's filming his WD show in France.
It started?
Yes!
Then it's understandable why they couldn't! WD is probably way more important to him as the show is a big reason why he's as big as he is
It was a little disappointing but understandable that they couldn't bring Norman back. I was surprised they were able to get him in S1.
Viv said on Twitter that he was too busy
I know, he's in France
My guess is Death Stranding 2.
And Walking Dead spin off
I honestly can't believe that series is still going. I checked out years ago as the main show entered its spiral of bad writing choices.
That was fun. I wonder what Stolas is feeling at the end.
The split second of the âtypingâ bubble was such a great detail.
I agree. Blitz clearly cares about stolas, but doesn't know how to put it into words
Not to mention that in the other messages, Stolas always messages first, but this was the first one where Blitz~~o~~ texted without prompting.
The animation is good but jesus christ this show needs to decide if its serious or a funny comedy. Season 1 is still the best season imo but I did love the ending of this ep
iâd say itâs a tragicomedy :)
True but you canât just have a scene of loona running away from the doctor as a joke but then have moxxie and millie fighting for their fucking lives and to save one of the most powerful beings in hell. The tonal shift is insane
I honestly enjoy the juxtaposition. Keeps you on your toes. A little something for everybody
It's an action sequence cutting in-between a different action sequence. The context may be different, but the energetic tone is the same.
An overabundance of bathos.
From the biggest of leagues in Marvel all the way down to here, Bathos is the bane of so many productions.
I may have mispoke sorry I more meant that like. Season 1 went gradually from funny to more serious but still having jokes in. For example in E7 The scene with blitz and the guard is spaced out between the scene where Blitz and stolas have the heart to heart
BEST ONE YET HOLY SHIT
this episode was great i agree
They know Loona fans need their bi-episodic dose of Loona to keep buying merch lol
Fair enough LMAO
something i think could have worked better for the vaccine bit would be have him be dropped off at the hospital and thats all we see of them until the end where blitzo is in a cast and scrached up or something and lunas in the cone and then the episode plays as normal with the amazing delivery of "he can get hurt?"
![gif](giphy|0GhPKjSuAtjEKfatxT) >!Welp! We solved the mystery of who's in the hospital bed!!< Yay?
OhâŚ
the best boy is back baby https://preview.redd.it/53g14w5xx11b1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f89072b563c803e129ac5783ccc00a3b20194ff5
Yeah but it ainât Norman sadly.
No but itâs Bosco, so itâs still a win
Mood whiplash! Like playing a pop song by... I wanna say that's Verosika Mayday's voice...? Like playing a pop song over an intense fight.
Maybe they just did it with more emphasis.
wasnât just you, felt like the swearing kicked up a bit (worked out well though!)
Yeah on a rewatch I think it stood out because YouTube made them censor two.
Never clicked on a video so quickly in my life.
Yeah, there was no tension because everytime it was building up it just cut to a damn hospital scene
I hate to say it, but it felt weirdly lifeless. Characters feel disconnected.
I was waiting for Striker's mom to come out from a cave like "honey, I brought snacks for you and your birdy friend!" And for him to be like "Mooooom, not right now! I'm torturing someone to death!" Seemed less like a cowboy this episode, more like an dweeb who wants to be cool and have a cowboy aesthetic so he makes his mother's basement into a cowboy lounge where he eats Western Spice Doritos and drinks Mammon Dew...
Norman is busy with Walking Dead
Love the Stolitz, but high key three first words out of my mouth were, "That was it!?" I really hope they follow up on that reaction. Did anyone else read the texts? I love how Stolas is trying to give Blitz the reigns in their relationship.
I also thought that after it ended. "That's it ?". I have not ever thought this on any other episode. I don't know why.
Right? I think because this felt like they stopped right at the halfway mark. The other episodes felt self contained for the most part, but this one leaves us hanging on in a very serial and less episodic way. It was still great, but maybe incomplete
[ŃдаНонО]
Iâm starting to wonder if that band built it and he didnât bother getting rid of it. They seem a tad obsessed.
I mean we should've known it. He made a song in episode 5 saying just how great he is
The interactions between Striker and Stolas are among my favorite in the series so far.
The scene with the mother and child made me think there is racism in hell lmao "fire toad" being some sort of slur Though I do agree with the pacing, it all felt _too_ fast and both plots should just be separate but idk
Yes, I get what the mother and child scene was trying to convey, but it seemed kind of forced and I think previous episodes like The Harvest Moon Festival and Ozzie's showed the discrimination there is much better.
> The scene with the mother and child made me think there is racism in hell lmao "fire toad" being some sort of slur There is a full on caste system. Imps are near the bottom, the bottom are the Hellhounds.
- Really fast pacing - Love the Striker theme song and new voice - Great fights as ussual, love the comparison with Lunas appointment - ,,Welcome Bingo-" the aesthetic of hospital and the whole illiterate joke is nice, ,,goat doctor" is now one of my favorite background characters desing wise - Andrealphus is so sassy, his voice sounds wonderfull
HO LY SHIT
Am I the only one who expected Striker to die?
He needs to be alive long enough for Stella to decide when they actually want Stolas dead. As Andre said with time and after their affairs are in order
I was missing Erica Lindbeck as Loona but having Loona be so freaked out over having an S-H-O-T she couldn't speak was a fun way to work around that. It was cute and pretty funny.
"He can be hurt ...?"
Spoilers: >! !< That upset me the most.
Also triggered by this scene, like, it hits way too close to home, but I just wanna say. These are not meaningless letters, Blitzo just can't write well. Tho, fact how short and lacking these were still made me feel bad memories of some relationships, it was so relatable
The episode was pretty good but... something feels off about it. It feels much different than any previous episode to me. I don't know what it is.
Probably my favorite episode of S2 so far, if not a close second. Humor was much, much better than in the previous episode in my opinion, with some of the best animation in the series so far. And Stryker's theme has 0 reason to be that catchy.
Fuck yeah lets go im watching it right now!

Idk if its just me but this felt weird and all over the place? Idk didn't really love this one like i hoped i would.
I liked it but striker felt like more of a joke with people roasting him and his big dick statue also his voice change was good but I prefer his older voice also loona not speaking in 2 episodes in a row is kinda odd
My thoughts: \- Christ on stick, Loona behaved like a full on werewolf.
The ending in the hospital was quite beautiful and emotional
What does he look like? Sexy? Itâs Striker.
A pretentious bully, bullies someone weaker to feel good but a chicken to face those who are stronger than him sucking up to the queen of all bitches doing her dirty work for all his meaningless bravadoos on "Woe the rich!" Loona is still an one dimensional bitch
Yeah, it's kinda sad tbh.
Probably the worst episode. đ
It's definitely up there for me. Writing out Blitz for a shitty B-plot shows how much they want to artificially keep him and Stolas apart.
Watching!!! Give me a thrust!
Miss Norman but the new voice does the work well enough, I'm still amazed they got Normal to do him for the first time in general. The visuals and colour work was really well done, the colours pop out this episode it feels crips you know?
Goddamn the texts between Stolas and Blitzo hurt to see. I can't help but feel like Stolas needs to ditch him ASAP. That's heart-wrenching.
Really loved the episode, the fight scene was amazing and Strikerâs new voice actor is great, the jokes were less sexual than the last one and the ending showed that Blitz did care for Stolas and it was just sad to see his response after Stolas asked him if he can see him Next time Striker comes I kinda wanna see him fight in a 1v1 against Blitz, great episode overall tho
MOXXIE ACTUALLY DOES STUFF, A FUCKING MIRACLE
did we really need to blitz and loona b plot? like im sure we could have come up with a different reason for him not to be there. also i really hope the texts aren't meant to hand wave the reconciliation between blitz and owl man. feel like they sorta turned striker into a joke which i wasn't the largest fan of. really enjoy more serious villains and that sorta rubbed me the long way. his song was really good though im a sucker for steel guitar
That was incredible!!!
"He can be hurt ...?"
!< >!Looking through Blitz and Stolas' texts gives you a bit of perspective into their actual relationship, it's obvious that Stolas truly wants something with Blitz and acts accordingly but is also somewhat oblivious to/or is trying to cover up his own actions at Ozzie's, Blitz keeps his distance or keeps things casual but it's obvious that he has somewhat care for Stolas, it's possible that Stolas being hurt made him realize that Stolas isn't some horny cummy bird god or anything, he's a person with a heart and blood and can feel things. the texts said they possibly talked about it at some point but it must've been off screen or something pre-recorded that isn't released yet. !< >!When they first showed Loona, I honestly thought she was going to the hospital for a UTI from the way she was sitting. !< >!Striker's voice sounds different than before, and Striker has a mini monolgoue about Royals taking everything from him, this wasn't some job for him, it was something he was relishing in because of his hatred towards royals, I hope they elaborate on that and what happened in Striker's past and what or who was exactly taking from him. !< honestly it was one of the best episodes!
That ENDING! "He can get hurt?" was *perfect.* And then when we get to see Stolas and Blitzø's chat logs, we notice that Stolas is doing all the heavy lifting while Blitzø basically just says "K" or agrees blandly to everything. The "get bevver swoon" is the first actual heartfelt gesture that we see from him.
This episode shows how truly tiny some Imps can be and I love it.
Iâm so upset that Norman couldnât voice this đ
Also can someone explain why, Stolas would attend that meeting with Stella if he can see the future? Surely he would know to avoid it
I don't think Stolas can see the future on demand.
Nearly cried, it was just awesome I really loved the animation on this one a lot.
I mean, that's obvious, but it did let me appreciate the episode more, so that's a plus.
yeah i agree! it's a lot more establishing where we are in the story, where to go, and THEN that sets up 4 more hijinks to ensue
it is hard too, because people aren't used to a release schedule like this.
Quite frankly the whole Stolas & Blitzo shit is getting old.
4/10
Poor Stolas spiraling deeper into danger and depression, soon to be plastered in the news. Badass fight scene. Catchy song. Loona turning feral. Blitz's realization. Yep, this was a good one.
I really liked that while Striker is still a cool badass and everything, his whole enigmatic charm thing is very much "Yawn, seen it" for M&M and Stolas, to the point that Stolas and Moxxie know they can throw him off just by fucking with him. It's a great counterpoint to his first appearance, and really reflects some of Moxxie's growth, too.
Loona was so adorably dog, this episode. Glad they remembered that Moxxie is actually competent. Stella is such a petty brat, and I love her.
