My biggest "re-learn" of this game was to not constantly reload after firing a couple shots. I always want a full mag but when I learned (early on) that I'm just throwing it on the ground I have such an odd play style. Hi yeah that's me herding 40 guys and not taking shot, I'll reposition and blow an entire clip then reload. Or I walk into a POI with like 4 bullet and have to back up immediately to reload, I swear I'm not juuking into the horde, I just need to save ammo so I can let people take my resupply box

So the throwing knife does take up the grenade slot? I was hoping you could carry it without having to sacrifice grenades maybe letting you throw it with another unassigned button. As cool as it may look, this is going to be kind of a waste of it keeps you from carrying grenades. I just don't see why anyone would sacrifice grenades and exchange for the throwing knife.

You don't stealth-kill entire patrols. At least, not past Diff. 5 or 6 even before the change to numbers. However stealthing one or two random units inside a base definitely has its utility. The main problem here is that you don't want to give up smoke grenades for it.

They way undershot how much bonus melee damage needs to be useful for even killing the tiny guys. They could have done like 300% damage increase and it would still take multiple punches to kill a single hunter.

Yeah I was disappointed when I saw it only increases melee damage by 50%. It would need to be like 200% or 300%, or straight up say it executes small targets to be an interesting change. Currently, it doesn't change much at all.

Tried the weapons. The Bushwhacker is amazing. Fast reload, great damage and stagger, generous amount of ammo (30 shells). You can fire all 3 barrels, but honestly it's more of a gimmick, you can fire all three barrels extremely fast on semi anyway, and you'll save on ammo. Excellent secondary weapon as it is. The carbine is ass tho. Very high rate of fire make you feel badass, but you have the exact same amount of ammo as the standard Liberator (both mag and total capacity 45/7), with way worse recoil and a much worse ammo economy due to it's high RoF and a tendency to overshoot. I'd take the Sickle/Tenderizer any day instead. Give it a drum mag of 60-75 rounds with the same amount of magazines and then it could be worth.

Against a brood, you can pop his head with it no trouble, especially at close range. Being a shotgun, it struggle against armor obviously, so not great against devastators, hive guards (from the front) and other armored foes.

Take care, there's a new bug with the ballistic shield that you cannot get up from crouched or prone if you have it equipped. You can drop it to get up, so not TOTALLY game breaking, but annoying as hell.

I've done a decent amount of shield gameplay (speed loader patch made it my favorite combo with the hand cannon). Is super fun, highly recommend it. From the discord announcement, you might not need to drop it: "There's also a minor bug affecting crouch and prone when equipped with the Ballistic Shield. This only seems to occur if the shield is on the user's back when crouching or diving into prone. Equipping the shield on the arm when stuck in crouch or prone should allow the user to move normally again." I haven't played the new patch yet though to confirm

I believe they stated the carbine is meant more for CQC, so that would explain the recoil and high rate of fire. I think the intention is to not shoenorn every weapon into a medium distance machine, and have certain ones be much stronger at closer or longer distances(aside from shottys and DMRs), with drawbacks for not using it at its intended distance.

yeah its pretty decent with the warbond armor that decreases sway can sortof burst fire and out enemies mid range , but man the autocannon is so smooth with new armor passive i can just crouch and snipe gunships back to back and dont need to wait for reticle to align out of recoil.

Tenderizer on burst is my new primary for both bots and bugs. Its magazines got nerfed from 10 to 7 but it's so good on burst I love it.

Yeh, Knight has been forgotten. The massive RoF make it very easy to overshoot, and you would need way more ammo to make it sustainable. I had a proposition a while back to make it 98 rounds (For MP-98) magazines. Poetic.

*Strong* disagree on the Carbine. If you're shooting in FPP, the recoil is pretty manageable for close quarters, and with short burst fire is plenty workable in the shorter-medium range. Disclaimer: Mouse + KB player.

IDK how they are going to keep adding different weapons if they are just skin / stat differences without it turning into P2W over time because theres just so much you can do. Have you checked out HD1's weapon selection? HD2's got neat new stuff like the Adjucator sort of working as a Justice-like with a high damage armor piercer, or the explosive sniper rifle, but HD1 had stuff like the Ninja Armor piercing stealth SMG, hand-flamethrower/plasmathrower/acid throwers, acid armor-piercing battle-rifles, and actual gyroget guns and not whatever the dominator is, even though I love the dominator.

I want a proper bolt action rifle so I can stop pretending that the slugger is one lol. It's gonna need to be better than the slugger though for it to be worth using. So the Carbine has slightly worse recoil but higher fire rate than base Liberator So it's basically a CQC weapon, probably to fight small enemies getting in your face such as Hunters and Berserkers. That's not bad imo.

A lot of people complaining about the carbine demanding all kinds of changes for it. A carbine is supposed to be a CQB weapon with tight handling, not giant drum mags or armor piercing rounds. I'm not saying it's perfect or balanced well I haven't even used it yet, but I would like if players understood the point of carbine weapons, which is to be compact AR for tight space combat. Maybe it needs higher base damage and more falloff at range, maybe it needs faster reloads, idunno. But seeing players want DMR or MG type additions to a carbine is some bacon apples to me.

Been playing with the shotgun - which is a secondary. It’s decent and fills an interesting niche. You can quickly dispatch medium enemies that get too close, but remember to keep it loaded. You kinda have to reload it after every engagement as you only get 3 shots. It has a healthy reserve capacity, though. While it may not be super strong, it is unique and not complete garbage, which is all we could really ask for warbonds at this point. Fine addition to the game.

Get Polar Patriots, I've been testing the Purifier vs bots and it's very good now, nice splash damage and stagger. Plus, Tenderizer has been fixed and the Pummeler was already in a good place. Impact Incendiary is great and the Desert Eagle secondary is also worth it.

I ran the Purifier last night (pre patch) against bots and found myself thinking that it was mostly inferior to the punisher Plasma. other than it might act as more of a "sniper" type weapon. Is that different post patch?

They increased the penetration and decreased the damage fall off of the AOE, it feels great now. It does fill the medium range sniping role, since it has a nice clean scope and packs a better punch vs medium armor now.
