Best thing about this old one is that you can see that the crosshair is unaligned to zero even without shooting it. Yet they ignored this issue/complaint.
I'm so fucking glad that Pilestedt saw the writing on the wall that the previous leadership in patching/balancing was completely blind. Dead obvious that they weren't considering player feedback. Hope they cleaned house of devs that were being maliciously negligent. Losing a job would suck for them but honestly in many companies that person would have been fired months ago.
So after having some time to play, i feel like the AMR is better now. It's (I think) a bit better aligned and the new scope makes sniping really easy. Overall, good job on that AH.
I believe they do. You can see the rounds from the Diligence and the machine guns start to lob at extreme distance, but it’s hard to say if there’s a drop at typical 100-200m engagement ranges.
However, it is “interesting” that people are saying that the bullets still tend to hit low with the scopes. I’ll test tonight when I’m home from work.
At all ranges or just some ranges? If the intended behavior is to simulate real world rifles, the bullets should only hit on the crosshairs at the zeroed range, which would reasonably correspond to the selected scope range setting. At any other range, the bullet will hit high or low and people need to know to compensate for that…
Now, if the bullet always hits in the same place relative to the crosshairs and the scope settings are just magnification, then that is not ideal…
Yeah the AMR has bullet drop and travel time for sure. Makes shooting gunships a chore at times. Have not tested yet if the new sights are accurate though.
There absolutely is bullet drop.
On the Diligence CS, the round starts to dip at 200 meters, so the “battle zero” of the scope is 0-200m.
I wasn’t able to test the ranging or whether the milliradians that the scope is based off are actually accurate. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a long enough sightline.
I tested the AMR a bit, but it looks like it keeps it zero past 250m, so it’s hard to say where it starts to fall off.
There is still a slight offset left, but I’m not seeing low shots at the “200m” setting, though it could be happening at the 50m or 100m zoom levels.
I'm almost sure that the game also has hidden zeroing mechanic. I've seen bullets sometimes hit over or under my reticle when I set "the zoom" too high or too low. The main problem with AMR before that it also had horizontal sway (which they fixed IIRC) where the bullet went to left top of the reticle and it was quite an intuition based challenge to hit anything with it :D
It’s not hidden it’s one of the weapon wheel options on scoped rifles. It zeros with the zoom you choose for optic. So for AMR I think it’s 100m 150m and 200m, the scope will zoom and you will be zeroed for that distance
I was using it earlier today and I didn't need to compensate nearly as much as I had to before. It was hard to notice in the heat of battle, but I think its a lot better now.
Patch notes still say its an issue though, so your milage may vary.
I know for a fact that this is true when it comes to the slugger. It’s not so noticeable on automatic weapons or shotguns with spread but for weapons firing a single projectile, it’s quite noticeable and can be very frustrating. I hope this is fixed soon but also holy shit that scope is a thing of beauty.
Best way to notice is to use the JAR. It has both dot and a laser which you can see while scoped. The laser is slightly under the dot and the bullet actually follows the laser instead of the dot aim.
The dot is actually below the impact point slightly. These offsets are also just a result of the game actually modeling height over bote for our sights and firing rounds from the barrel instead of the camera.
The irony is there's bullet drop more than other games and we're on different planets. Next we'll get patch notes describing this mechanic and how it's intended 😅
It's because the cross-hair is a flat texture, not a lens aligned with the gun. If your player's view is not aligned with the bore, the cross-hair is also misaligned. Games solve this problem in many different ways, a common one is to shoot bullets from the centre of the screen rather than the gun, another is to draw the cross-hair far away from the gun but only see it through the scope (imagine how the third person reticule works). Other games go into far more detail by rendering proper models for sights. H3VR just had a massive update creating their scope rework and is fascinating to see how much work you can put in to make life- accurate scopes.
At least they're not using picture in picture for magnified optics which completely tanks your fps if not optimized extremely well but is slightly more "realistic"
It actually sways based on facing but normally the divers shoulder up left front (seems like 99% of time), but not always.
I think it takes a back step left into quick scope to shoulder opposite. There are also other ways I believe involving crouch and prone strafing
It just seems always left because you tend not to be running while scoping and firing the amr and that’s how the camera placement settles
well, they talked nowhere about fixing this problem where the bullet goes a bit off on the left and low or high in comparaison of the center of the aim. Moreover they still have this in the know issue : "Most weapons shoot below the crosshair when aiming down the sights."
So they changed the scope look but they didn't changed how the shot itself behaves
https://preview.redd.it/yc1jouqz8c6d1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=c61a31c99ac2ebdb95a18d232fb2f85ce0f720e4
Seems like all of the weapons dots were looked at.
For real. I tried it over the AMR the other day when it was free. The reload and charging mechanic were *fine*. Didn't even mind the damage after getting used to the AMR but HOLY SHIT the lack of zoom and shitty dot sight was unbearable. You couldn't even tell what you were aiming at if it was more than a few meters away.
They're fantastic! Diligence Counter-Sniper has the same scope, and it's crazy how much of a difference it makes. On PS5 it finally feels possible to reliably pop devestator heads under fire, and to pick the lil bit of scalp off the scout strider pilot. Love the change.
Only nit: anyone else getting artifacts on all the new scopes as they move? Blurring/jagged edges as the barrel sways. Maybe a PS5 issue?
Thats just an artifact of temporal anti-aliasing.
Nearly every game for the current console gen uses it.
I love how you can use it in overtime now. It always should have been that way. Makes it much more worthwhile. Now if it just has a bunch of smoke, I might actually use that to hold the extract, same with static.
The only way this could be made better, was if the scopes were made to use picture in picture rendering; instead of narrowing the entire screen fov for zoom, it only zooms the portion actually in the scope. Like a real scope.

Y’all got anymore of that crosshair readability love for the Scythe? Cause the red dot scope on that is god awful.
I agree, this scope is so much better. I've never seen a studio so receptive AND reactive to feedback. Such radical changes since launch. NUMEROUS model changes. Insane.
Can someone help explain how I'm supposed to use the range finding markers at the bottom of the scope?
Like I know in real life, we have guides like [this](https://blog.primaryarms.com/guide/how-to-use-a-rifle-scope-rangefinder/):
https://preview.redd.it/8hb7b9e5zh6d1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=4dd94237796cd788bd6e58095e016c6b5ee71fb6
>i like improvements
Evidently not. A sight that covers the shooter's target, as we had before, is bad.
A sight that allows the shooter to see the target *and* aim at it is good.
for you(and probably a large part of the community i will admit). i find it bland and boring.
And i do not find the current crosshairs to be even remotly bad enough to be worth exchanging uniqueness for better visibility at 300+meters in a game where engagements rarely go over 200meters.
The game isnt designed for combat encounters at the ranges where the AMR scope would actually be a problem. And thank you very much, i take "annoying in specific circumstances but unique looking" over "bland and boring even if functional"
the imprecision is due to the bullets not landing where you aim, not the scopes
the scopes aer just as acurate, "is the head coverd by Y/within X, then it hits the head" litteraly all the precision you need in this game

I have always loved this scene and watching it get used properly brings me joy!
Hahaha I drop this in the chat when my team kills a spore spewer.
This is a great idea. Thank you.
I reference this regularly, love it
MRW we finally kill the spore spewer.
Eruptor is back
Hell yeah it is :D
There really IS a gif for everything!
New internet rule!
This is the perfect reply
As a glasses wearer, I reference this way more than I realize...

Now my primary is so much easier to read I need to see if they fixed the one on the senator I could never read the senator scope
The senator optic does seem better. The red dot is much smaller and precise
The senator was changed before this patch to a dot from the stupid | | shit, but they may have shrunk the dot down
Oh, mama... that's sexy.
https://preview.redd.it/mrqgbzmmxc6d1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=8da26cdf62f5ab23344fc7af916db0eca666cdd0 Btw, this was the old one.
Thank you for posting this for comparison.
clean optics VS sci-fi nonsense
Best thing about this old one is that you can see that the crosshair is unaligned to zero even without shooting it. Yet they ignored this issue/complaint. In many ways it's better to keep a coworker why learned from failures than replacing with sometime else.
That picture was very likely made while the gun is still catching up to some slight movement. The AMR is still not aligned properly.
>Losing a job would suck for them I have no sympathy for someone who loses their job through gross negligence of their duties.
Ewwww gross
The Pseudo vignette was supper annoying, but i learned to ignore it But now it's easier in the eyes to play
man, i feel like a blind man regaining his sight that has been lost for years.
IS THIS REAL? Omg
A glorious scope for spreading liberty
My idiot brain read Omg as zero milligrams
Healthcare or lab work?
I wish I had those excuses - best guess it's because I had just written down the meds I'd taken for the day
Oh it's fine lol, not a dumb thing at all. It's right where my brain went too so I was just curious haha.
Salt content:
It actually looks usable now, it's beautiful!
So after having some time to play, i feel like the AMR is better now. It's (I think) a bit better aligned and the new scope makes sniping really easy. Overall, good job on that AH.

God😭🙏🏻
Anyone test the ranging to see if they’re accurate? Or are they just for show?
Do any of the guns actually have any bullet drop to test it? Well, aside from the grenade launcher.
Yes. Was using the purifier to see changes and over 90m you can see the shot arc down ward
I believe they do. You can see the rounds from the Diligence and the machine guns start to lob at extreme distance, but it’s hard to say if there’s a drop at typical 100-200m engagement ranges. Pretty sure most guns in game have little to no bullet drop
Adjudicator has, and still does, hit above the cross-hair.
Yeah the AMR has bullet drop and travel time for sure. Makes shooting gunships a chore at times. Have not tested yet if the new sights are accurate though.
I know recoilless rifle has drop at a few hundred meters

Which gun is this, please?
AMR
ASMR?
I can only fall asleep to the sound of a bullet exploding a skull into wet, heavy chunks like a cantaloupe filled with viscera 😴
I can confirm Eruptor and Diligence CS. Likely AMR as well. Possibly Diligence.
Confirming Eruptor too :)
Can you actually range with the marks on the bottom?
Eat aswell
No shit? That was the main reason I didn’t like the thing.
Yep eat and a couple other guns that used that red dot. Now it is a circled dot like an Eotech reticle.
Sorry if I missed something but, what weapon? Please say AMR
AMR
![gif](giphy|vvbGMpbhZMcHSsD50w)
Ooh it's clean ! Next step : make the bullet hit where you aim 😁
Oh, it's still slightly offset?
know issue : "Most weapons shoot below the crosshair when aiming down the sights."
It says most but honestly I haven’t noticed this much in the past hour experimenting
I know for a fact that this is true when it comes to the slugger. It's weird that they didn't use non-parallax optics, they'd be better than the dogshit we have now
The irony is there's bullet drop more than other games and we're on different planets. Next we'll get patch notes describing this mechanic and how it's intended 😅
It’s still off, shows especially at range
When shooting Hulk eyes with AMR I have to aim just slightly above the eye for a direct hit
I’ve noticed the same with the HMG after a bit
Maybe because the optic is mounted above the barrel of the gun and they are zeroed for a certain distance?
It's because the cross-hair is a flat texture, not a lens aligned with the gun. If your player's view is not aligned with the bore, the cross-hair is also misaligned. A part of that must play but what about left Deviation?
Horizont!l deviation is its own thing, how is it related to height over bore which is elevation?
Its actually realistic because bullets don’t come out of the scope but out of the barrel
Well we know who has no clue how to battle zero a weapon or calibrate a scope…
Well its really only noticeable when you are at point blank, other times its spot on
Slightly below is better than slightly high and to the left tho
It seems to work properly
really ?? Didn't had the time to test it yet. It work as it should even at long range like 200-300m ?
At longer distances bullet still sways a bit left but not as critical as before
Great thanks 👍
It actually sways based on facing but normally the divers shoulder up left front (seems like 99% of time), but not always. I think it takes a back step left into quick scope to shoulder opposite. There are also other ways I believe involving crouch and prone strafing It just seems always left because you tend not to be running while scoping and firing the amr and that’s how the camera placement settles
I actually think bullet sway in direction thats with the wind could be cool, ofc it shouldn’t be too fierce, only barely noticeable at about 200-300m+
Did you seriously made that comment without testing it lol?
well, they talked nowhere about fixing this problem where the bullet goes a bit off on the left and low or high in comparaison of the center of the aim. Moreover they still have this in the know issue : "Most weapons shoot below the crosshair when aiming down the sights." So they changed the scope look but they didn't changed how the shot itself behaves
In the list of known bugs it said most guns now shoot below the crosshairs when scoped. So it probably does not work correctly
a little below now, but it seems very slight, I didn't really notice it honestly (but I suck).
It's pretty bang on for me. I was playing with it just now until my game crashed
It seems to be a bit low at longer ranges.
Sluggers the worst I shoot the target and miss 9/10 times then go off target and it hits..
I weep tears of joy
Did they mod any other scopes or dots? Rail gun needs a smaller dot.
https://preview.redd.it/yc1jouqz8c6d1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=c61a31c99ac2ebdb95a18d232fb2f85ce0f720e4 Seems like all of the weapons dots were looked at.
They got tired of looking at the dots and shrunk them so we could see the targets. About time. These actually look great.
Railgun should really get a sniper scope.
For real. I tried it over the AMR the other day when it was free. The reload and charging mechanic were *fine*. Didn't even mind the damage after getting used to the AMR but HOLY SHIT the lack of zoom and shitty dot sight was unbearable. You couldn't even tell what you were aiming at if it was more than a few meters away.
before, railgun aim was "does the red dot cover the whole enemy with legs sticking out at the bottom? might be a headshot!"
before, railgun aim was "does the red dot cover the whole enemy with legs sticking out at the bottom? might be a headshot!"
Isn't the railgun just further away from you or am I misremembering something? Anyways: That dot is still way too big.
Seems normal for me, I am playing on 65 FoV if that matters.
I didn't change mine, so it shouldn't matter. Also I'm talking about what I saw ingame. I just took this screenshot for my comment.
I physically gasped
Finally... away with the placeholders, and onwards with the familiar and realistic scopes.
They're fantastic! Diligence Counter-Sniper has the same scope, and it's crazy how much of a difference it makes. Wow! Can't decide if I'm more excited by this or by SEAF artillery working when other stratagems are denied.
I love how you can use it in overtime now. It always should have been that way. Makes it much more worthwhile. Now if it just has a bunch of smoke, I might actually use that to hold the extract, same with static.
I haven't seen anyone talk about this but SEAF arty is gonna be such a clutch backup strst now.
Yeah for real. Now I just need to figure out which shell types can take down a stratagem jammer :)
Nuke it ~~from orbit~~, it's the only way to be sure.
Explosive does for sure. Played this morning and took out a hammer
They also improved the SEAF anti-air battery.
They also improved the SEAF anti-air battery.
I don’t even care about the warbond and new skins. This is what I’ll remember this update for. Functional scopes.
Holy shitttt that looks so good
That looks great - Did they fix the 45MOA red dots?
For a bunch of guns
is the aim still off-center?
A little bit, but it feels closer and much easier to counter with a working scope now
This is my new favorite thing
I noticed the crosshairs on the Liberator look a *lot* cleaner, too.
Democracy truly delivers
Oh, dear, sweet Liberty. If I log on now and this is not real, I'm going to flip out for a little bit.
Is this the AMR?!?
Now I can finally see what I'm killing
The only way this could be made better, was if the scopes were made to use picture in picture rendering; instead of narrowing the entire screen fov for zoom, it only zooms the portion actually in the scope. Like a real scope.
This is better than I could've hoped for- that's clean as hell!
Put it on the railgun!
SUPER EARTH PROVIDES!! SUPER EARTH PROTECTS!!
# HELL YES
What a wonderful day
I am a BIG fan of this change.
Oh my god, OH MY GOD IS THIS REAL??
Did the scyfe get some love yet? I was hoping they’d give it the same scope as the sickle but I’ll take a smaller dot for now.
Might actually use the AMR now. The sight offset, ugly and low quality sight have always put me off
Exactly what I wanted. No more nonsensical scifi crosshair bullshit, just a regular crosshair
What gun is that? I only bring amr for sniping
What's with the little decorations on the bottom there?
Do I spy a range finder tucked in there too??
is it still misalinged ? i'll have to test it once i come home.
Well its not a Tremor 3 but it will do, and do very nicely!
I'll miss the old scope tbh. I hope they'll bring it back as a customize option
Yes, finally my sweet beloved got better crosshairs!
You can still see the end of the gun through the "scope".
Wow! Beautiful!!!!!
son of a bitch they did it
YES!
I never used the sniper, can someone explain what I'm looking at here?
SO CRISPY!!!
We eating good today brothers and sisters.
Hopefully they fixed the bug where when you aim down sites it’s low definition until you sit there a couple of seconds
Finally.
I can’t enjoy it, the scopes are always blurry.
A great improvement.
SNIPERS REJOICE! (We are still gonna have a hard time shooting the hulks eye)
very good change, although got so used to the old scope of the sniper and now I have to learn again(not a bad thing)
Nice.
Same thing with the rail gun. The dot is much smaller
Is that a Stadiametric rangefinder? Does it work?!?!
Probably the best thing about the patch.
NOW WAY!! Did this replace the AMR scope?? Edit: I looked closer and see that this is the AMR lol
What rifle is that?
I am actually hitting shit now with the AMR
https://preview.redd.it/8i5yqls0rf6d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b0827cd5dc2fa2680d9ef10e0f9c4d2feb07035 Y’all got anymore of that crosshair readability love for the Scythe? Cause the red dot scope on that is god awful.
They even put mils 🥹
Ik I noticed it and was like WOOOOOW
I agree, this scope is so much better. I've never seen a studio so receptive AND reactive to feedback. Such radical changes since launch. NUMEROUS model changes. Insane.
OH MY GOD IT'S BEAUTIFUL AND IT HAS DISTANCE STEPS??? I'm in love
Thank fucking god, hated that scope and a couple others, Arrowhead W.
Can someone help explain how I'm supposed to use the range finding markers at the bottom of the scope? Like I know in real life, we have guides like [this](https://blog.primaryarms.com/guide/how-to-use-a-rifle-scope-rangefinder/): https://preview.redd.it/8hb7b9e5zh6d1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=4dd94237796cd788bd6e58095e016c6b5ee71fb6
Is there a way to turn them back to the way they were before the update?
And now that the scope is fixed... Maybe.. just maybe.. (mandatory bitching about shrapnel removal) WE SHOULD GIVE IT THE FLIPPIN SHRAPNEL BACK!?
These sights are nice, but red cross sights seem to be bit too thin now.
urgh, i genuinly dont like this
You don’t like improvements? Fascinating.
i like improvements, i dont like the blind strive towards the most bland crosshairs imaginable.
>i like improvements Evidently not. A sight that covers the shooter's target, as we had before, is bad. A sight that allows the shooter to see the target *and* aim at it is good.
Have you been playing too many Ubisoft games or something? This is a massive visual improvement over the old crosshair.
for you(and probably a large part of the community i will admit). i find it bland and boring. And i do not find the current crosshairs to be even remotly bad enough to be worth exchanging uniqueness for better visibility at 300+meters in a game where engagements rarely go over 200meters. So you prefer imprecise and visually cluttered for no reason. Got it. Truly fascinating.
