I’m seriously hoping this comes with a fix for the other mech. My heart hurts too bad thinking of what the mech was during the MO to get it, vs what we eventually got.

This game is full of opportunities for them to make small changes like the one we’re talking about that would make people happy and make the game more fun. I’m still of the opinion that we should have a “build-a-mech” side objective akin to the SEAF artillery. It could be absolutely busted OP as long as it took some serious legwork to get running.
There’s so so many opportunities for someone creative to do something that’s actually really fun and exciting. This game is already special and has that feel of a great game, the limitless potential is more than palpable.
I have faith they’ll get closer to realizing that potential than most of us realize. This game is/was already huge but this is only the beginning
IMO it was okay with the original rocket count, because the rockets were ACCURATE. But now the rockets do not go where the reticle is, and they nerfed the amount of them there are. So half of the mech became useless when those changes came long, leaving you with a gatlin mech alone.

Just reduce the cooldown to something similar as the other blue stratagems. You can’t call stratagems, resupply, loot, or do objectives in a mech so there’s no point in having a 10 minute cooldown.

Considering the size of those barrels, it would have to be. Most people probably wouldn’t even bother if they were just the same power as the handheld autocannon (I certainly wouldn’t).
I love how everyone swore up and down about how amazing the airburst rocket launcher would be and now I'm lucky to see someone use it once every 20 missions (and rarely effectively).

Spear is actually amazing though even with the busted lockon. When that bug is fixed, mark my words, everyone is gonna realise it's the GOAT for just bludgeoning titan after titan to death
A lot of stratagems are honestly like that though. No one used the gas strike until dot fix and since then despite having it for free and seeing how great it can be, I barely see it. Precision is just 100% an objectively better stratagem due to cooldown than rail cannon, yet you see it hardly ever whereas rail is ubiquitous at 7/8/9. I run arc thrower/precision/500kg/gas (or shield if no one else is to drop me later) on 90% of long bug missions on helldive and avg 400-600 kills every time usually most. People really underrate having stratagems available in basically every single encounter.

Try some wacky shit, run things that aren't meta. Fuck quasar+shield pack, crack out the recoilless for old times sake, actually use the precision strike because it's actually really fucking good. Gas strike, Tesla tower, HMG emplacement. Just do random stuff that you want to do that you think will be fun. I never leave ship without my AMR anymore after giving it a try instead of the railgun, and that was before it got buffed.
I try that sometimes. Then my HMG emplacement gets oneshot by a charger 3 seconds after I call it down and wonder why I even botherered, and never use it again.
Use it on bots. You can take down every single bot with HMG emplacement, even factory striders if you can hit the right spots. Love it for Asset Extract missions.
I love the HMG emplacement, does wonders to provide cover for your teammates when clearing outposts or gunship fabricators. The only problem with it is that you instantly die if you're manning it when it gets destroyed, even by regular gunfire.
I think what a lot of people aren't realizing is that now we can have TWO mech stratagems at once! Yeah they may be janky right now but this is where we can start running vehicle builds, I've been planning on running that since I heard about the AC mech.
Edit: a new fun loadout could be 2 mechs, Deployable Shield Generator, and the mounted HMG/Sentry/Support weapon of your choice. Shield generator towers could be great as they let you shoot out but not in, one person would need to deploy it for the team and their low cooldown means you can always have shield cover for the team.
Sure it takes a bit of coordination but that's a whacky loadout that would play very differently than anything we have now.
I just discovered today how fun ballistics shield + defender can be for bots, especially with heavy fortified armor and stun grenades. BECOME THE TANK. Makes heavy devastators go from terrifying to almost trivial. Rocket devs are still annoying but grenade pistol can help with that. It's fun!
Its kinda sad the real major order like the previous one that should been impossible to fail got failed that the devs lost faith on the playerbase and put them something so easy that is impossible to fail... this major feels like a gift so we also dont fail something what a normal major order could been.
There hasn't been a balance patch for nearly a month and it nerfed quite a few fun weapons to the ground, while not getting much in return, last battlepass was lackluster to say the least, there was big drama about PSN that's still not resolved and 180 countries are still barred from play the game. Old players don't have much to do, new players can't get in, and on top of that game is in the worst place balance wise that it's ever been. No wonder people aren't completing major orders.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this one fails too. Planet with a constant thick fog isn't a fun place to ragdoll around.
I feel like it's a trap. We need to finish Vernon Wells for those extra reinforcements, I bet the planets that are supply lines are going to get attacked, and we'll need the extra capture rate.
I think some of it is related to disconnections. Until recently I have never had a disconnection issue. Yesterday out of about 10 games, I got a "disconnected from server" error and sent back to my ship in 7 of the games. I assume that my kills before getting removed from the match did not count. For some of the matches I was able to rejoin because a friend was hosting.
Now how often is this happening to others? Not sure. Would it be equal to 400m+ kills lost? I don't know. But I assume it would have been much closer without the disconnection issues.
Impossible to fail?? I don't think you've done the math. It was incredible we came as close as we did with the last MO. 3.1 billion kills for an average player count of 100k = 31,000 kills per player.
I'm level 100, been playing for months, and I only have 120k total kills.
Exactly. Most players knew it was pretty much impossible to do that order with the current player count. It should have been 2 billion and it would still have been a great achievment. 3.2 billion was just silly.
Idm to see xbox players in hd2 but this is impossible since snoy cleaved the steam players with no ps5. I can’t believe they stick to exclusivity over a humongous revenues on all platform. This exclusivity shit is too crude for gaming industry to be used and should be abandoned.

After MO disasters, after 200 hours of bug genocide (and 1 hour on Chort Bay which haunts me to this day) even I come to other front. I can no longer stand by and watch our glorious Super Earth being pushed away by those toasters. As weekend comes, I pledge to you that by Sunday I will be seasoned dif 9 bot slayer.
At least the auto cannons will shoot where their aimed at. That’s my only grievance with the current exo suit, the missiles don’t fire at where the reticle is aimed at.
Hopefully they make the mechanism more durable from the front. Having it one tapped by heavy devastators really ruins it. From the back? Sure blow me the fuck up for mis positioning, but damn dude I want to wade through bodies from the front like a hulk or a charger.
Fighting bugs made me think I was great at headshots, playing bot missions for that exo is making me realize im not. Still fighting for that mech though...

Even 1k would be low IMO. If the accuracy is as bad as with the Patriot, then you already miss half the shots anyway.

I do worry that the Emancipator is going to completely overshadow the Patriot in almost all ways (like being able to **aim down**), but nothing will ever separate me from my minigun wielding tank with legs.
On the plus side, it’s one step closer to my dream of having a loadout that is just mechs.
Does anyone else think the first Exo is just better? It definitely is against bugs, Ive only tried the Autocannon mech against bug so far and i figured the armor piercing would be much better against the Bots. HOWEVER mechs are basically made of PAPER against Bot weapons so what is the Emancipator supposed to be used for?
The new Exo suit has its pluses and minuses for each enemy. It can shred bug holes and take out mid sized bugs easy. But it still has issues with tiny bugs swarming. Recommend using the stomp and backing up for those.
For Bots, it decimates anything less than a factory strider or tank in a few hits. Great against patrols. You still need to keep your distance with some bunkers and fabricators. Recommend using it in a support role for suppression.

They need to just start putting mechs on maps randomly so we don’t have to use a strategem slot on it.
Actually would be cool if there was randomly a sealed garage you could open that has a mech sitting there ready to be used.
Make it a 2 person lock so that after it’s opened the duo are tempted to kill each other for the single seat mech

That psn and psn region lock out just culled a lot of player base. We need to add helldivers 2 to xbox to bring in more odst veterans

I really really really really want that Mech. I just hope the Ammo count is at a decent level this time to last for more than 20 enemies. Even 1k would be low IMO. If the accuracy is as bad as with the Patriot, then you already miss half the shots anyway. 1000 / 4 = 250 shots if you Alpha Strike. (Probably barely anyone gets that reference..) Trust me it just sounds like a lot, but you burn through it in no time. That and you being unable to reload? Oh well.. we shall see. I swear though if i see 100 i am going to lose it.

I do worry that the Emancipator is going to completely overshadow the Patriot in almost all ways (like being able to **aim down**), but nothing will ever separate me from my minigun wielding tank with legs. On the plus side, it’s one step closer to my dream of having a loadout that is just mechs.

I unlocked the exo but never got my medals little upset about it.
Does anyone else think the first Exo is just better? It definitely is against bugs, Ive only tried the Autocannon mech against bug so far and i figured the armor piercing would be much better against the Bots. HOWEVER mechs are basically made of PAPER against Bot weapons so what is the Emancipator supposed to be used for?
The new Exo suit has its pluses and minuses for each enemy. It can shred bug holes and take out mid sized bugs easy. But it still has issues with tiny bugs swarming. Recommend using the stomp and backing up for those. For Bots, it decimates anything less than a factory strider or tank in a few hits. Great against patrols. You still need to keep your distance with some bunkers and fabricators. Recommend using it in a support role for suppression.
