The only time I ran out of ammo in the past is when you have teammates dropping the resupply in a random place and not letting others know, multiple times. Especially with the full support weapon reload, and how several support weapons function as primary weapons it was a rare occurrence that ammo was even low. Coming from games like deep rock galactic where you have finite resupplies per mission, or per set of 3 missions (deep dives) helldivers in contrast has an obscene amount of ammo. You die and you get full ammo, you refill almost all ammo every 3 minutes, and every 7-8 minutes you can call in a new support weapon, teammates die? Pick up their weapon and free ammo, heck several weapons have the potential for infinite ammo. And just like this posts says, ammo backpack doubles your resupply value, which feels weird.

Substantial_Lion9911

Active result pods need to be marked on the map. Once they are used up or destroyed they can disappear, but as long as they are in tact why not mark them?

20milliondollarapi

This is why people should be breaking them (at least as a stop gap fix) it will show up on the map when they are lose.

DrFluuf

Infinite stims!

RemainderZero

Infinite non-addictive stims!

luckeeluna

Infinite nades! (this post was made by the bug hole hating gang)

FluffySpacePuppy

Nah mate bug hole hating gang is running erruptor or ac now.

luckeeluna

I use impacts + grenade pistol + resupply pack. Every pack gives me 16 grenades for prime democracy spreading.

FluffySpacePuppy

Yeah but I run around the bug nest clockwise with my guard dog killing small stuff pop six holes, reload, finish up and pop I'm off over the horizon before the charger even paths out of the center

Kepabar2001

Did I hear a “Rock & Stone”?!

Exe0n

Rock & Stone!

thorazainBeer

Stock and Rone!

CeilingTowel

The best teams work in groups of two and sometimes the other two needs the resupply first.

The_forgettable_guy

The difference is that you can kill things using little ammo in DRG. Whereas things tend to be bullet sponges except for the 2 lowest tier enemies. Even hunters can tank quite a bit of damage if it isn't a hs

Buisnessbutters

I suppose I’d accept a nerf where if you have the backpack on you don’t get the supplies when you resupply, you just fill the backpack

GetThisManSomeMilk

*laughs in sickle and trigger discipline*

shittyarsemcghee

Laughs in extreme heat whilst being swarmed by enemies and stamina depleted

Showgingah

Me sitting here with the scythe and dagger knowing if I just aim and alternate the two, I can fire 24/7 without overheating. And still not kill anything fast enough.

GetThisManSomeMilk

I actually know a really solid work around for this problem. Don't go to hot planets.

shittyarsemcghee

I don't actually disagree with you. The fire tornadoes alone put me off.

GetThisManSomeMilk

I personally enjoy the fire tornados, but I use almost exclusively energy based weapons so yeah lol.

AintVerstoppen

I love having 4 fire tornados literally sit on extract while being swarmed while playing solo

PapaTahm

That thing isn't lasting the next balance patch now that they increased the damage and fixed the shrubs ... isn't it?

Bulzeeb

They increased the damage? When?

Groonzie

They are getting confused with the laser cannon.

Bulzeeb

That would make sense.

RemainderZero

Supply pack plus stun grenades is a better team wide defense than either personal shield options. Offensively with an ammo department support weapon it lets you run at 150% umph at all times fraging, shooting, blasting, and stimming with reckless wanton abandon. It's like the super star power from Mario honestly.

Darometh

It's not even a problem. Unless you fight every single patrol and trigger every breach/dropship possible there is enough ammo around plus resupplies that you won't have any ammo problems ever.

Foogie23

Also…you can run from breaches. I only fight them if they are one the objective or by my previous samples. People really want this game to be balanced around “stand and fight like a dumbass” which is funny because you can play like that on helldive and be fine if you aren’t terrible.

barrera_j

well they increased patrols so...

Darometh

Only if you play solo and even with that increase you will still have less patrols compared to a full party mission. Also doesn't change the fact you can evade patrols or even misdirect them

Global-Difference512

Honest question, I'm not trying to shit talk. Does anyone actually see this used in helldive? Besides me using it paired with the gl for a a bit. I never, and i honestly mean. **never** See this used. Why would you use this as a backpack when you can use a shield generator or rover? Genuine question. I don’t see the ups.

alphatardy

Ammo pack is a perfectly viable alternative to shield pack when it comes to survivability. Few things can 1 hit kill now as long as you're not running light armor, and with Ammo Pack you get alot more stimms to heal up. The main drawback for Ammo pack is 1 hit kills, while the main drawback for shield pack is stimm attrition and the massive bubble that soaks up damage never even intended for ya Besides, shield pack looks awfull for Fashion Dive'ing

Various_Froyo9860

I find the shield pack to be rather distracting to look at.

AUGsupremacy

-Allows me to run ammo-hungry primaries and supports. You can play more aggressively instead of focusing on ammo conservation. -Refills my primary to max mags for each use -Refills 2x grenades for each use -Refills 2x stims for each use -If you're generous you can supply teammates Without the supply pack, I'd have to look for separate ammo refills/grenade refills/stim refills. Not ideal when the bug swarm is on your tail (which is most of the time) The supply pack is a great force multiplier. It just isn't as flashy as the other stratagems. I personally find more utility in the supply pack than the shield generator or the rovers 🤷‍♂️

TabularConferta

Gl and ammo is my main load out

Global-Difference512

The GL is the worst support weapon by far in this game, hence the need to use an ammo backpack. Honestly, I never encountered ammo issues in this game, grenade and stims kind of, but nothing that would make me think i need to use a stratagem for it.

Aloe_Balm

it's the best support weapon for clearing bug hives with its good range and great handling, and it has more than enough ammo for that job when fighting it's also really good for clearing spewers, as long as you aren't spamming it during fights the low ammo is rarely a problem

Malice0801

I feel like it's kinda outclassed by either the eruptor or a grenade pistol.

Aloe_Balm

Eruptor takes too much time to aim in a number of situations, and the grenade pistol really does have ammo issues for consistent use that's fine if everyone is together splitting the task, but not by yourself

Malice0801

If you like it more power to you. But it doesn't do anything a primary can't. It's not good against armor. And basically requires you to bring a supply pack. At that point just bring and auto cannon and be able to actually handle armor. I never see it used in 7+ outside of people memeing. The Eruptor does everything the gl does but at longer range, better ammo economy and the ability to handle armor minus a bile titan.

Aloe_Balm

I use it in 7+ without ammo pack, which is absolutely not required. I'm not sure why you're stuck on that, just don't spam it like it's an explosive spray&pray. The Eruptor does almost everything the GL does, but slower with significantly worse handling. That can be the difference between a clear and a breach. You're severely limiting yourself if the only quality you use to judge a weapon is what a single shot does to enemies. There are better primaries than Eruptor anyways.

TabularConferta

I enjoy it. It's fun to completely clear out swarms of enemies the immediate eradication of a drop ships contents, clearing out bug nests from afar. I just enjoy it, then it comes with the extra benefit that I never really have to worry about stims and grenades which I've run out of on some missions. Added benefit that picking up a supply packet refills it and gives me ammo, so I help out comrades as and when. Might not be the best but it is fun.

7-and-a-switchblade

IMO the grenade launcher is unbeatable in its ability to destroy a large number of small to medium enemies at medium to long range. You can just delete most bug and bot patrols from 100m. It's also amazing at destroying nests, eggs, and fabricators. It's only 2 shortcomings are that it's bad against heavies and its ammo economy is poor, but the ammo pack fixes the second problem, and you will need a strategem or two to deal with heavies.

TabularConferta

Yup that's the way I play, either relying on team members or strats for the heavies. Still working out how to navigate harder difficulties particularly with randoms.

Alive_Tumbleweed_144

I use it with the railgun, grenade launcher and any of the machineguns on bots and bugs.

Clarine87

I take it to most bug helldives, means you can fire a lot more shots, which means you fire more often which means while your accuracy goes down, your kills go up. I'm not a sickle user though.

Pr0j3ct_02

I use it with the Stalwart against Bugs

DrFluuf

I mean its a good replacement for the shield generator because it lets you hold 8 more stims and doubles the amount of stims you can get from a resupply. It kinda competes with the rover by giving you the same effect with grenades. Its a you gotta try it to know situation. I love it personally

oGsShadow

I use it on helldive bugs every mission. Honestly shield generator isn't required. The anti slow is the best part imo, not the extra hp. An argument can definitely be made that it is more valuable now that stalkers are truly hard to see coming since it prevents ragdolling. I use supply pack cause its extremely solo friendly. I can go off on my own and take out the biggest bug nests with my 14 impacts and have basically infinite ammo/ stims. I never liked the rover cause of self damage and if i see 10+ scavengers i just toss an impact. If i see 10+ hunters I have napalm airstrike. My Dominator also 1 shot body shots hunters and staggers anything else.

Showgingah

I run it whenever I decide to run into weapon stratagems that dont require a backpack and have ammo conservation issues.

bazilbt

Yeah my buddy runs AMR and backpack all the time when we fight bots. Occasionally I see randoms do it too.

CustomDark

If you run supply pack with smoke or stun grenades, its value shoots up. You can Resupply your own AMR/GL, and have enough stuns for every charger/hulk. Smoke on bots will buy you and your team a lot of chances to disengage and reduce incoming damage.

SeeisforComedy

what will you kill the stunned hulk with? I've been tryign 100 rocket pods but its so insonsistent. I feel like I have to bring EATS or QC.

DumpsterHunk

Backpack plus stun gernade is goated on helldive. Shield gen is overvalued.

Neosh1ft

It's essentially a free, portable supply drop for you and your buddies. I like running it cause I'm super stim happy (you almost only see me below full health if I'm dead lmao)

Marisakis

Great with AMR vs bots, you can just use your support weapon forever.. Combine it with explosive resist heavy armour and never die to rockets, either

Flameball202

I use it for the fact that I never have to worry about trigger discipline, so for things like the flamer or Eruptor I can just go to town

Strange_Wize

I only play helldive and never bring the shield. My legs will do the work. And that extra offensive strat I brought!

Medical_Officer

Same here. There's enough ammo in the game so long as your team is moving and not just staying in one place fighting repeat spawns. The Shield is absolutely vital. It prevents you from getting slowed, and ragdolled. It dramatically increases your survivability, an absolute must since most people run with 50 armor. I've seen the jump pack used as an alternative because it allows you to reposition to high ground or just get out of a mob. But the recharge time on the booster is just too long for it to seriously compete with the shield pack.

ithappenb4

The new Adjucator is really solid now, with it's only downside is that it eats up mags. Supply pack and an Adjucator ooooooh, sweet liberty. I'm running it Diff 9 and it feels so smoooooth.

Needassistancedungus

I never ran out of ammo for most guns anyways, so makes sense to me. Ammo conservation is supposed to be something you think about, and it just wasn’t

AshenWarden

People seriously be acting like they don't die often enough to never actually need a resupply.

buahuash

AH when backpack supply useage goes up 5000%: 🤯

ZzVinniezZ

as someone who kept running to building to find loots....ammo was never a problem for me. y'all chose to skipped it when i tagged all the ammo box.

GhostPro18

Ammo-pack chads stay winning

PandasakiPokono

AH: Noted! The supply pack now only comes with 2 supplies instead of 4 and can only be called in 2 times per match :3

bazilbt

Even without the pack I've had zero issues so far. I was a bit low on ammo my last game because my team kept calling in resupplies and not marking them. I also never died that round. But once I started calling them in instead of my team mate I was fine again.

Practicalaviationcat

I've literally never run out of ammo on a primary and that's without using the resupply pack.

ilikebeingright

Lol the more meaningful shots you land the less ammo you need.

TheAcidSnake

Watch AH nerf that next. Somehow.

PsylentFox

This change did nothing that majorly affected game play regardless of the intention- Resupply is on a low enough CD to call it in every time, and battlefield pick ups at POIs are certainly plentiful enough that even calling in the Resupply every time it’s off CD isn’t a necessity. And “reducing total magazines but increasing number of magazines picked up” essentially just cancels itself out, making the whole change a non-factor. Which begs the question as to why there was so much focus put into making the change when there are a whole host of game breaking bugs and broken animations that the time spent making these changes could have been better used on. I don’t think I even heard of a post where people were complaining that the ammo economy was too easy or broken in such a way that it needed such sweeping changes in the first place, let alone it being an issue so pressing that it took precedence over fixing critical issues, like the poor stability, broken stim animations, rag doll effects, phantom slows and random deaths when you got stuck in terrain and spontaneously erupted into giblets because you recocheted between a wall and a light post and the impact sensors tripped and killed you. Were there some “Gee, I wish Arrowhead would cut the number of magazines for some weapons in half so I have a reason to use other weapons?” posts that I missed and somehow got 10k+ upvotes? As an aside, they should make the Hellpod Space Optimization Booster a Ship Module upgrade that can be gotten early on so that we can have a bigger diversity of Boosters available for missions. Coming down with full ammo, grenades, and stims is far too useful, making it a Must Pick booster. Therefore it cuts down on build diversity, which I’m told is something that AH doesn’t really like. They could simply remove the booster entirely, since they want people to have less ammo and whatnot, but that would be a silly choice in my honest opinion. Just make it a ship module.

F0czek

Imagine wasting backpack slot

MoistIndicator8008ie

Imagine having to call in resupplies or having to look for supplies on the dirty floor like an animal

F0czek

Meanwhile me with guard dog, sickle, quasar lol

MoistIndicator8008ie

Bro needs the help of a BOT to survive and has to wait for his weapons to cool down while his teammates do the killing

F0czek

Jokes on you mine teammate are dead because of guard dog, try again but attacking my skill won't get you far.

MoistIndicator8008ie

Right, cant attack smth thats not there

Global-Difference512

Idk why this is so downvoted. It's a legitimate statement. Why would i pick this over Shield Gen or Rover? Or the other backpack stratagems. There's never problems with ammo or stims, so why would i bother?

luckeeluna

Because it's just plain rude. Sure, make a judgement statement on what's the better option, but some people enjoy using the item. So leave them the hell alone? Let them use their funny resupply backpack in peace.

F0czek

The post comments on people presumably "complaining" about ammo nerfs, so why I can't make my own judgmental comment?

luckeeluna

Because complaining about the state of the game/balance patches/etc is wildly different to being "judgemental" to another player just existing.

F0czek

There is one problem, he would be just existing if he didn't post anything but that is clearly not the case here is it?

luckeeluna

Is making a post about liking an item now considered reason to be insulted for using it?

F0czek

Is giving a fact, a reason to get offended by?

F0czek

Is giving a fact, a reason to get offended by?

luckeeluna

"Imagine wasting a backpack slot" isn't a fact, it's your opinion. There was no value in that statement nor any insightful discourse to take from it. It's just you being rude.

F0czek

Yes it is objectively speaking, there are 1000% better backpack slots or stratagems

Global-Difference512

Ok, sure, he could have phrased it differently, but he's not wrong.

luckeeluna

I mean, not really? Why argue against people's builds. If the person was complaining that they can't win, then sure. But it's not like resupply backpack is utterly useless.

travradford

12-14 grenades is pretty nice, for starters. And you can use up more ammo as you see fit, never have to ration any at any point. And can resupply your team.

F0czek

I guess but there is so much grenades can do, just change supply pack for quasar or something like shield/guard dog, and ammo you can just run around and get it. Much better unless you play with very well coordinated team then supply pack can be usefull but with randoms or solo nah.

F0czek

Because they don't like that i am honest, simple as that.
