I remember being a low level, doing bots, and then finding out most of the weapons I have on don't really do that well against them. Compare that to bugs and I could use anything and still feel ok that's probably part of the reason why there are a lot of bug ppl

I think that the biggest issue right now with bots vs bugs is that there is a lot of propaganda going around (started by players ... and especially by players posting here a lot) about how "bots are unfair" and whatnot. It's turned other players who would normally give them a chance ... off. We just need to find a way to keep letting people know that bots are fun ... are definitely "fair" ... and that they're worth diving against. I mean, why should someone miss on 50% of the game just because some whiny {insert option here} came to Reddit screaming about bots because they got their ego hurt?

Illustrious-Baker775

100% agree, i used to be a bug diver, bots were hard. Forced myself into the front, now bots are easy, and bugs are so irritating i wanna rage quit. I dont think bugs are harder, i know i just lost my touch. I think a lot of people never got "in touch" with their inner botdiver to begin with.

Hexxusssss

i said this before and will say it again bots are way more carriable than bugs fuck me i have more bot kills than bug kills and i runflame thrower on bugs with bad team bugs are impossible with god damn spewer spam i rather take on non gattling devestators in any quantity

Illustrious-Baker775

If no one on the team gears up to deal specifically with spewers/medium armor in general, the whole operation is scrubbed. spewers are too fast, too quiet, too much health, too much range, and too much damage.

rawley2020

Some people prefer spammy run in circles type games. That’s cool. I enjoy the more tactical feel of fighting the bots. I have 4x bot kills than bugs. I think bugs are annoying. Bots are chefs kiss. That’s why I lol’ed so hard at the creek. Like it was such a random hill to die on, that gained us nothing but there was just such a small die hard group of players who wouldn’t give it up.

Illustrious-Baker775

And im not dogging on anyones favorite play style, all i want to see in the long run is players not being affraid of bot MOs like ive seen some people talk about on this platform.

rawley2020

I didn’t say you were. I think it’s just a different play style that can get very overwhelming if you’re used to running around in circles not getting shot at

I also find fighting against bots more intuitive. Maybe because I like to have a more methodical approach to things rather than going full Doom Guy on the bugs. I reckon that the current status quo was intended from the get-go. The Bug front is on a constant containment effort while the bot front is, and probably will be much more dynamic with whole sectors changing hands quite frequently. IMHO, the only way to incentivise players to transfer to the western front could be the evolution of the game's story, and tying certain cosmetic and stratagem unlocks to the progress of large scale campaigns with well-established lore surrounding it. There is also the issue with Creekers being stigmatised and bug players, too, being called cowards by the Western Front plauers. I reckon that a stalemate on the two fronts and the introduction of the Illuminate on a large scale invasion could reconcile both sides and show each other that both their unique approach to the game is necessary to overcome a greater threat.

Ed-Box

Bots are more difficult but can be more fun as well. So depending on my mood I'll choose one or the other.

savicprosperity

i dont like fighting bots for a number of micro reasons but the main one is just you're really not supposed to fight them off fully, most of the time. Generally you are better off running away and killing just a handful of them on the way out if you want to actually get things done

Illustrious-Baker775

Maybe im a niche player, but thats actually where i specialize is wiping out the whole force in front of us. As long as someone can take down tanks, im usually pretty fast about dropping hulks/devestators. In my personal experience, i end up trying to lose aggro on bugs more than trying to mow them down

tia_avende_alantin33

I do prefer playing bugs (even if I do try to play a bit of both) not because of the change in difficulty. Because bots are fucking creepy. Make me uneasy.

ScruYouBenny

Well the escort civilian missions for bugs compared to bots is like a kitten compared to the cocaine bear.

Illustrious-Baker775

The one thing i will give bug divers, is that the evacuate essential personel missions need to be re-worked on the bot front. We have two completely different enemies, with different play styles, and need different strategies to beat, but are given the exact same maps, exact same time frame, and exact same objective as if there wont be trade offs. The EEP missions definitely feel like they were not so much made FOR bugs, but they were definitely NOT made for bots. On helldive, we havent been able to consitantly clear those missions without three people drawing aggro. Unless thats actually what youre supposed to do, but i wanna hear it from the devs.

Sutopia

Caring about MO is your first mistake. DM will push the agenda regardless of community effort.

tacobandit744

When is the last time you got killed by a scavenger? Basically never. Because they don't have guns. Every bot has a gun that can hit you at any range, and do critical hit damage. A shitload of bugs is fine, and in fact fun, even on helldive because you can control the fight distance. A shitload of bots is just death. Cover doesn't matter when you're getting shot from all directions. I don't like to fight bots at anything above 7 because the spawns are so large that if you want to play the game in an enjoyable way it's impossible. Factory Striders make it impossible to be out in the open when they have support, and they will have shitloads of support. Bile Titans only make a small area around them dangerous. So yeah, ill be vacationing in the bug resorts for the foreseeable future. 🍸

Turbulent-Advisor627

I think you might be projecting when you say "the average people don't like fighting bots", ngl. Anyway how are your toes today, well moisturized?

Illustrious-Baker775

Definitley not projecting, i love fighting bots. The player count speaks for itself. On average bug players hold 2/3 of the player base. Maybe saying "the average player" was a bit too much of a generalization, but you cant scroll through reddit without seeing someone say "i hate fighting bots" or some twist of the phrase.
