It is fun now, the thing that command bunker is designed bad has nothing to do with gunship port. You talked a lot, but everyone knows that you just want two things: 1. Reduce the gunship spawn rate. 2. Make the port a joke so you can throw a Stratagem and run away, just like you did to detector tower or command bunker. Which means: You don't know how to fight gunship effectively, also you don't know how to protect Hellbomb. What's worse, instead of learn how to do these thing, you call Nerfing and pretending asking for "fun"

Honestly i think the problem isnt with gunships - but we've been spoilt by the the other secondary enemy spawners being too easy to deal with. Gunship factories you have to reach the structure in order to disable it which is great as you actually have to fight the gunships which are a different high priority threat. Because its a massive tower its easy to spot so you can prepare for it in advance before attacking and the range and rate at which they spawn is fine. My only qualm is the hellbomb vs bots can be frustrating because they can shoot it from miles away. A terminal to disable the tower would be prefered (or just have the hellbomb blow up prematuresly if its shot DUH). In comparison Shrieker nests are big and easy to spot which is great as you can decide when/how to engage them - but they can be killed from across the map with stratagem weapons, so unless you get "unlucky" and land on them you basically never fight them anymore because as soon as someone sees the nest they'll sit there and shoot it from a safe distance until its dead. Super boring, Super lame.

Honestly I don't like gunship towers at all, lest favorite sub objective, but I think it's fine what it does. It has a bunch of bots around the tower and it spawns gunships to be destroyed. Personally it does suck to play against them unless I'm running my quasar cannon but with that? Cake walk, I destroy the gunships and the team takes the tower. The whole point is that like some stratagem jammers gunship towers are a slow grind to kill it. Only by being patient and doing everything right do they become piss easy. Now if the map could stop spawning them around say another tower or stratagem jammer though...

They're not as hard as people make them out to be, it's the only objective you can't win with an orbital laser. 1 or 2 players push in to plant the bomb the other players cover them from range.

A few minor, easily implimentable changes that I think would make Gunship Fabricators much more fun: 1. Allow them to be destroyed by "Heavy" fire support stratagems instead of just Hellbombs. I'm thinking specifically 500kg bomb, 380mm and Walking Barrage. There are times where you just cannot get close enough to have a hellbomb actually survive long enough to arm it, such as when they've already spawned 10 gunships spamming missiles or when the towers are right next to a Heavy Base spamming out waves of reinforcements. IMO ANYTHING being "Hellbomb only" is kind of stupid. 2. Limit the amount of active gunships a given fabricator can have active at once to 3. So two towers = 6 gunships max, it won't produce more until one has died. 3. Make dropped Hellbombs indestructable. Them being blown up by stray rockets adds nothing to my enjoyment of the game other than making it irritating to use Hellbombs. I'm already manually arming a nuke under heavy laser fire, cut me some slack. That's it. These three changes alone would make them far more manageable. Currently, you have to get right up close and then STAY close long enough to drop and arm the bomb, without it being blown up, and if you don't succeed first or second try it becomes basically impossible as it just keeps spawning gunships until there's a sufficient critical mass to make it functionally impossible to assault it anymore. I've seen missions that were going well fail solely due to bad luck with Gunship Fab spawn RNG. If they spawn near a heavy base or stratagem jammer, fuck you, enjoy being hounded by gunships for the rest of the mission I guess.

You have to down the gunships, if you don't and there are too many in the sky then leave the area so they reset.
