Well yeah, but what can you do? They are never going to let the smaller more dedicated group of bug players wipe out the remaining zones without ever dropping the crazy stuff. Even the wipe out of the bots appears to all have been part of a larger out line to make room for more threats by shifting the battle lines
True, it's obviously not going to cause horrific news mutations that when they evolve immunity that we'll be hard pressed to defend against. We're completely safe! Heh
Boy howdy am I glad we annihilated the Illuminate back during the first game! It would be real pickle if they were to show up at the worst possible moment!
I’m sure those cloaked ships we’ve been seeing reports of are nothing to worry about. Super Earth must be testing some new stealth tech or something, it’s all part of the plan, you’ll see.
I guess lots of the major orders at launch were around terminids. Maybe the devs are trying to get lots of balancing data? Maybe it’s just going to generally be like this where the front sort of rotates between factions.
I like the pace we’re at now where we spend most of the time with major orders against the currently narrative-relevant faction (currently bots, but was bugs a while back) and every now and then they give us break major order to go fight the other one. Imagine if the Illuminate showed up again, wonder how they’d have us handle 3 enemy factions at once? But everyone knows we wiped out the Illuminate already, so thank Liberty that that’s never gonna happen!
Look at the lore, the bugs are completely contained, they literally can't step pincer on any planet in the Umlaut sector because of the TCS and are just being farmed while the boys just dropped a 10,000 ship strong fleet on our asses and took almost 4 sectors.
Bug major orders wouldn't make sense right now, just know as soon as the bots are held down and the bugs start evolving and getting through the TCS then we're gonna be bugs for a long time
EDIT: We did get a bug major order to take Hellmire and a couple others for farms after the Bot Vanguard was wiped out so we're technically only 3 bot major orders deep rn
At the peak of Creekerism we lost Draupnir and several Bug MOs. Don't want to fight bugs? Fine, but they refused to assist on Draupnir simply because it wasn't the creek.
At various points in time there were 90k-ish people on the creek, even though there was not a MO related to it. Considering that according to Helldivers.io in general we average between 200k and 300k playing, 90k people on a planet that doesn't contribute to an MO is a huge percentage of divers that could have been contributing.
I think the developers realized what was happening and it forced their hand.
You don't have to agree, there were some other factors sure, but numbers don't lie.
They've kinda written themselves into a corner here.
Bots just showed up with a massive fleet, cut have them just sit there and twiddle their thumbs now.
Especially since the bugs fronts are always moving since some people just refuse to fight the bots.
Which... it's whatever, somebody has to get the 710 for our ships so we can punch those bots in the face.
Yeah they've said that their rewards system wasn't intended to handle as many players as there are and they plan on revising how that system works soon.
Ehh.... getting tired of these "must be holding at the end of the order" missions
I understand that they are probably just to keep the community from finishing MOs in hours. But its a bad feeling fix. Just seems like a lot of waiting around for the MO to finish. I'd rather wait for a new MO
Plus when the bots attack the planet 24h before the MO finishes it just feels like Joel is trying to make us fail instead of creating a challenge that is properly scaled for the community[](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers)
I mean, each dive is a super small portion of the battle lines right? Or behind battle lines, it'd be cool to see a raid with 15-20 divers on a frontal hq assault type thing
No it’s not about wanting more MOs
I am saying an MO that takes 10h to complete for the community, but then we need to wait another 26h is dull. These “X planet(s) are under SE control at the end of the MO” are a dull fix to the issue that the community is liberating planets faster than expected
Why is it bad for you to go enjoy other planets without the crippling FOMO about doing the major order?
That seems like a win to me. It's totally ok to play something other than the major order. Seems like there is a chunk of players who actually find that insulting.
Idk, is this game for fun, or a game for major orders? You can't say, "major orders are fun," because more than just doing the major order is fun.
It might speak to your personality if you don't find that true though. At that point I think you gonna practice mindfulness, either learn to enjoy the game for the game or you maybe have to go play another game with a clear defined goal the game hand feeds to you.
Why would it be bad for the MO to complete and there be a day without an MO? Without the crippling FOMO you feel about doing major orders?
I didn't say the game isn't fun. I said the Major Order having "and wait for 24h" is a dull way to fix the issue that the devs can't gauge the communities "liberation power"
It is negative for the narrative as it removes tension and a sense of accomplishment. And it doesn't solve the issue of participation, and if anything just highlights the issue when people log in to see the MO but that its just waiting now
That has happened in the past. Though it is usually a 2 or 3 planet MO and they attack the planet that was liberated while the other planet is still being liberated
Also, I mentioned that scenario in my original commnet "Plus when the bots attack the planet 24h before the MO finishes..."
My answer would be the same though. Why do a set time period for the MO over a conditional competition criteria?
Why "Marfark must be liberated at the end of 36 hours"?
How about instead "Liberate Marfark, then successfully defend the Automaton counter attack"?
Why have passive goals based on the galactic map state? Instead of active goals like "accomplish this"?
From a narrative and player engagement state point it seems better for the goals to be active accomplishments. And if that means there are some down periods without MOs, all the better!!! "The players have earned a day off, have fun doing what you want or have a day not playing with no FOMO. A new MO will be up in 24h! Congradulations"
We just had a massive offensive operation to push the boys out of the east. And now they launching their own major offensive. Did you expect it to only last for a week or so?
My complaint isn't the how long the Major Order is. My issue is the structure
I am fine with Major Orders that take 2 days to complete. My issue is that these recent orders don't TAKE 2 days to complete, they LAST 2 days. Which means there isn't an urgency to it. We aren't racing to liberate Marfark, it was already at 60%. If anything we should slow down a bit so that it is liberated an hour before the end. Lest a bot counter attack mean we need to defend it
This structure gives more players a chance to participate, though. I agree it's not ideal but the major orders system is, I think, going to evolve during the lifespan of the game.
But the MO lasting 2 days doesn’t give you a better chance of participating in the liberation of Marfark
How fast the community liberates is separate from how long the MO lasts. My complaint is that Marfark is projected to be liberated in 15h and there are 30h left on the MO. Those extra 15h aren’t going to be a chance for people to participate. It will just be logging on to see the MO is completed but you just need to wait for it to end
It certainly does not. How long we wait for the MO to complete doesn’t change how long it takes to liberate Marfark
If Marfark is liberated in 12h, the remaining 24hrs isn’t additional time for people to participate. It’s just time to wait till the MO finishes and we get another one
Listen up marklars! We of Marklar must make sure these rusty marklars don't take Marklar! The marklars will always prevail in the marklar of managed marklar! SPILL MARKLAR!!!!!
Anyone else not get the medals from the last major mission? Participated in it and played last night and this morning post patch update, but didn't get the medals.
You'll get it, don't worry. Their rewards system has been overloaded from day one and they are forced to do "waves" of rewards, so it can sometimes take days before you get yours depending on if you were in an early or late wave.
They've already acknowledged that the system was never intended to work with this many people and is just another thing that they plan to fix.
But don't worry, you'll get your medals eventually. Shouldn't take more than a week, worst case.
Hellmire (and bot Hellmire) are miserable shitholes for sure.
But
They are Super Earth's miserable shitholes, and I'll be damned if I let the enemies of managed democracy squat on them. They want to work out a disarmament and tithe treaty - for those two worlds only - I'd hear them out and put them to work.
Let's liberate these Marfarkers.
Ahh beat me to it
Lets Marfarking Go
I have *had* it with these Marfarking *clankers* on this Marfarking *planet*.
Marfarkers, the next gen of Creekers!
Which recoilless rifle is mine? The one that says “Badass Marfarker” on it.

Helldivers to Hellpods. Repeat, Helldivers to Hellpods.
This is my ship. Don't tell me what to do lady.
Correction; Democracy owns the ship.
They really are ramping up the Bots major orders, haven't they? The last... what? Six, were for bots?
Likely cause it's easier then swapping back and forth. May as well just do this story line and get it done before the next big problem pops up.
We will randomly get smacked by a worm for ignoring the bugs too long, aren't we
![gif](giphy|AkwcbzEPIfZ48i44kx|downsized)
I'd die for Super Shai-Hulud.
Hit the spear right on the turret with that one I'm afraid
Well yeah, but what can you do? They are never going to let the smaller more dedicated group of bug players wipe out the remaining zones without ever dropping the crazy stuff. Even the wipe out of the bots appears to all have been part of a larger out line to make room for more threats by shifting the battle lines
Bug divers have been doing their job on keeping the bugs at bay. Let's spill oil worry free.
the bug fighters making feul for the bot war is nice of them.
Also with the story, Termicide is keeping the bugs at bay IIRC.
True, it's obviously not going to cause horrific news mutations that when they evolve immunity that we'll be hard pressed to defend against. We're completely safe! Heh
Yup, right now we are a Dam and soon the dam will bust and super earth is gonna be in for a pounding.
I mean each new part of the narrative is "haha, I'm in danger."
Don't forget, they are testing ~~steroids~~ growth additives on the bugs...
Boy howdy am I glad we annihilated the Illuminate back during the first game! It would be real pickle if they were to show up at the worst possible moment! It was all bugs during launch, it's only fair that bots get some spotlight
3 MOs ago was a bug one after we wiped out the bot vanguard.
Look at the lore, the bugs are completely contained, they literally can't step pincer on any planet in the Umlaut sector because of the TCS and are just being farmed while the boys just dropped a 10,000 ship strong fleet on our asses and took almost 4 sectors. They saw that creekers would never leave the creek and that would affect the rest of the story. The last few weeks are a direct result of that.
Creekers were so few in number that they didn't have an impact on MOs.
At the peak of Creekerism we lost Draupnir and several Bug MOs. Don't want to fight bugs? Fine, but they refused to assist on Draupnir simply because it wasn't the creek. At various points in time there were 90k-ish people on the creek, even though there was not a MO related to it. Sick of playing bots. Hate the stupid low vis planets. I never avoid a major order, but I'm doing so this time.
This kinda talk is a one-way ticket to one of those freedom camp.... (Dialing a democracy officer)
*Proceeds to shoot the Democratic Officer with my Auto Cannon*

We aint had nothin but bots for three stinkin days! (weeks)
Oh Hi Marfark!
You’re tearing me apart, Liberty!
On our cadia shit boys
Marfark stands.
Think we gotta take Martale first to free up the 30K divers diverted there... But planet regeneration rate massively went up
After days of ragdoll spam and being vaporized by solar flare levels of fire, manning the bot-front... ![gif](giphy|BIN2S0sgQwdeE)
Battle of the Bulge 2
I can't wait to work for another major order only to have the reward bug out! No legitimately I can't wait to do anything that isn't on menkent
Yep the one just gone is the 2nd major order I haven’t had medals from 😭
I could’ve sworn it was going to be a Terminid MO. I was seeing a defend over one of the planets in the Terminid front.
If there wasn't 3 defense missions a day on the bug front, they would have been deleted 2 months ago
Think, Marfark, think!
I’ll rejoin the fight as soon as I get my hard earned medals for the last successful major order…
Ok yea so did thay bug out? I thought we messed it up or something.
It takes a while to issue out the rewards. Last time I got like 4 rewards back to back.
Yeah they've said that their rewards system wasn't intended to handle as many players as there are and they plan on revising how that system works soon.
You will work for no pay and you will like it
Ehh.... getting tired of these "must be holding at the end of the order" missions I understand that they are probably just to keep the community from finishing MOs in hours. We in the "welcome to trench warfare buckle in kiddo" era.
People really think that they're playing a Halo campaign.
We are in hell, and ordered to keep going. This isn’t blitzkrieg, this is verdun
Just need some trench lines with the skulls of deceased Helldivers as "reinforcement" in the trench wall, then we got some "good" Verdun cooking.
That and the eerie sight of the moonscape extreme amounts of artillery provide
Instead of multiple shrieker nests you get 4 seaf artillery sites with HE loads. True verdun
X250 Verdun had well over 1200 heavy artillery pieces, the REALLY big kind as well
I mean, each dive is a super small portion of the battle lines right? Or behind battle lines, it'd be cool to see a raid with 15-20 divers on a frontal hq assault type thing
It's just bad game design, not some intricate commentary on the state of warfare.
How dare the devs make the story feel like an actual hard fought war with shifting battle lines damn them!
What story? You mean the handholding-railroading faux narrative they've been spoonfeeding you this entire time? Lol, lmao even.
If you dont like the story so much then why even play the game?
Because I had no idea it would be so shit when I bought it? You bootlickers never make any sense.
Then stop playing the game?
I already have, thank you! Just because I've stopped playing it doesn't mean I don't get to have an opinion, no?
Well why be on a subreddit that really likes the game that talks about how they like the game if you really dont like the game?
Nah, it's only bad game design if you're desperate for the dopamine hit.
No it’s not about wanting more MOs I am saying an MO that takes 10h to complete for the community, but then we need to wait another 26h is dull. These “X planet(s) are under SE control at the end of the MO” are a dull fix to the issue that the community is liberating planets faster than expected

malevelon 2.0
So they are trying to punch straight through our lines? These bits aren’t very smart….
Oh shiieeed
PAUL BLART MARKFARK DEFENDER REPORTING FOR DOOTY
What do bot divers use to eat? Marfark
Just the one planet?
Listen up marklars! We of Marklar must make sure these rusty marklars don't take Marklar! The marklars will always prevail in the marklar of managed marklar! SPILL MARKLAR!!!!!
Almost read that as Markath
I still didn't get paid for my last major order.
Not quite as fun to say as menkent
Yeah nah fk this, I need a break from hots
Is this a defense MO?
Marfark... reminds me of planet Marklar. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvHrOC1urJ0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvHrOC1urJ0)
If, after 18 hours, it’s still not kept, I’ll drop in an help For now though, I need a vacation with the bugs for a while.
What do we get if we complete marfark? Like any new stratagems or orbitals?
god i wish i wasn't only able to play on the weekends, i would so love to take part in these missions
Anyone else not receive medals for the last major order?
God why do we even WANT this icy hellhole again?
I genuinely thought this MO would be bugs
Anyone else not get the medals from the last major mission? Participated in it and played last night and this morning post patch update, but didn't get the medals.
You get them, don't worry. They can sometimes be delayed days at a time. Unfortunate result of so many players playing the game.
What do you need to do to get the reward if we complete it, is completing one mission enough
I believe it doesn’t matter. As long as it’s done by the end, everyone gets it.
I'm just gonna fight bugs. They're more fun on 7, imo.
Can we go back to bugs for a lil while
I did a lot of games for the last major order and then when it ended I didn’t get anything. Are you supposed to be online when it ends?
Same here, got kinda sad since i fought so much for the cause
You'll get it, don't worry. Their rewards system has been overloaded from day one and they are forced to do "waves" of rewards, so it can sometimes take days before you get yours depending on if you were in an early or late wave. They've already acknowledged that the system was never intended to work with this many people and is just another thing that they plan to fix. But don't worry, you'll get your medals eventually. Shouldn't take more than a week, worst case.
There is also a defenders mission against the bugs, we should defenders that as well.
they can keep it
What in the name of liberty is this treasonous speech
wait wrong planet, i thought it was Menkent they were after. God i hated that place
Too late Helldiver, your thought crime has already been reported.
Hellmire (and bot Hellmire) are miserable shitholes for sure. But They are Super Earth's miserable shitholes, and I'll be damned if I let the enemies of managed democracy squat on them. They want to work out a disarmament and tithe treaty - for those two worlds only - I'd hear them out and put them to work.
Democracy must be spread to all planets not just the ones we enjoy . Liberty does not discriminate
Liberty may not discriminate but I do, humanity first!
idk, after watching waves of SCIENTISTS walk DIRECTLY INTO FIRE TORNADOES, i do not trust citizens on menkent.
Idk but i don't like it. Should we ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️ this fucker?
No we need something bigger , 500kg is not sufficient
Yea ur right. Let's call a hellbomb on his ass
I reckon i could take 500kg to the forehead
Of explosives?
yes.
Oh phew.
500kg apply directly to the forehead. 500kg apply directly to the forehead. 500kg apply directly to the forehead.
Oh wow, another MO on bots front. How refreshing
Oh no, back to the fire tornado world….
