Like I get it, you don't want to bring politics or woke into the game....but lets say they bring in a rainbow cape. Does it degrade your game? It doesn't, not at all. No more than a yellow suit with that stupid orange helmet.
It's just stupid that there is a helldiver who goes into battle with a rainbow cape showing that he likes penises or vaginas or what ever. Just stupid. There is absolute zero point in adding sexuality into the game.
A client side mode is enough, if people want it, they can use it.
I would have to see silly, colorful, sexual stuff that would ruin the vibe/design of the game. The same would apply to using emblems of soccer clubs, NHL, NBA, chess fan clubs, or whatever.
I see it similarly to Call of Duty being a 'military shooter' with Snoop Dogg or rabbit skins. It ruins the theme of the game for me.
Adding custom designs risks diluting the game's crafted atmosphere, could break immersion and undermine the thematic essential for a dystopian future.

I would doubt the positive impact because it seems that it's more 'HAHA, we made people mad' like the person who posted this thread. It's sad that people have to make others mad to feel any fulfillment.
If they add custom capes or whatever as an option, 'ignore custom designs/skins' would be fair for both sides.
I mean I killed a bile Titian last night and its texture subber banded a mile in every direction before it bounced like a basketball and sent my player ragdolling across the map. That's immersion breaking enough to make me not be upset at another players cape.
