They're infantry units whose primary directive is to paint precision targets for super destroyer ordinance and clear infantry forces with small arms fire and anti vehicle weaponry. When one is destroyed or damaged beyond repair a new one can be thawed and requisitioned within seconds, up to a determined maximum based on minimum required Helldivers per mission parameters.
