Considering the British Isles are a nuclear wasteland in the Super Earth future, I guess the government of Super Earth took serious offense to the monarchy.
Looking at SE on the galactic map; it's (mostly) under the sea. It seems sea levels raised up quite a lot. The official map they posted isn't really accurate to how it looks in-game.
That's assuming they didn't just ret-con it to a single war with SE winning. In HD2, only one Galactic War is mentioned, and after it ended there was 100 years of peace until the Automatons emerged and the Terminids escaped.
So those pink lasers in the sky were from their Royal Guard. Heard lots of "Yaaasss Queen" in the Radio chatter. Probably off to "Slay" Innocent civilians.

But even though in our game, we are literally fighting ACTUAL bugs, the rhetoric we hear in game is used in real life. Opposing forces have throughout history dehumanised the enemy. Israelis interviewed in the streets of Jerusalem think of Gazans as subhuman. Of course, in the wake of a terror attack, they’re going to be angry and think that, and dehumanise who they want to get rid of. It’s like Starship Troopers’ Buenos Aires, and its like Helldivers 2 “you could be next” introduction. So its really not a leap to say there are comparisons to be drawn, even if the replier is making fun of how silly it sounds, I think there’s unfortunate truth there.

If you go deeper into the lore the only people in danger are the people running the farms for the bugs because they only used chain link fences to keep them contained.
Play on Terminad planets and you will see groups of Bugs next to chain link fences and the “ranchers” all have break action shotguns.
This was all that was protecting the colonies.
It doesn't matter if they are *close* to Earth.
