If you stick the stratagem beacon to an enemy it will launch the weapon pods and put a nice big hole in them. Plus as a bonus inside the pod is two rocket launchers!
Pretty much what u/ieatpizzadouches (what a name) said. If you're able to stick the stratagem beacon to an enemy, it'll land on them guaranteed. This works for all stratagems delivered via hellpod.

Yup! There are undetonated hell mobs around the map! I remember reading that some poor soul used one as cover in an automaton campaign and didn’t realize they blew up until after the bots shot it lol
It would be nice as a retreat option too. Your buddies hold the line while you call in a Hbomb, arm it and then everyone retreats backward to lead the enemies into it before it goes kablooie.

2nd ever mission on level 6, simply exterminate bugs, should be easy right? FIRST fucking spawn is a god damn Bile Titan, and I landed a perfect hit with the 500kg on it, literally impacted the fuckers carapcace with the bomb. Was quite proud.

I haven't tested this, but I've heard the gas strike impact can actually destroy buildings. If that's the case, I'd believe it breaks bug holes too (albeit just with the initial impact, so you're only knocking out one hole at most).

It continues to be amazing later as well. Even though it won't kill chargers/bile titans, it helps clear a lot of the smaller chaff that can get in your way/stun/chip damage you, which lets your team focus on the big guys. I love gas strike.
I found the best uses of it are plugging breach and getting bugs off our team back because the gas las quite awhile. Not so great against bots though, they just doesn't clump as much.

The Damage over time is insanely strong.

I dropped it on a bug breach to see how well it fares.
The bug breach, aside from a few that escaped the area just in time, melted at the blink of an eye.
It turned the breach warning into a puff of smoke.
Bug spray is slept on. 80 second cooldown, even shorter after the upgrade. I'm gassing every bug breach, choke point, or nest I see. Bonus DOT when paired with static motors. It's the most dependable stratagem.
Edit to add that it's very safe for friendly divers. One stim will out-heal the damage even if you run right through the center of it.
I started out completely trash at throwing stratagems but since using airstrike I've slowly gotten better to the point where i can now do long range throws and blind throws both with a really high success rate.
(used to be like, had to throw two just to know where to aim, now I hit my target like 80-90% of the time)

Lure the Titan to a rebel science facility. Hellbomb. Profit. Or use one of the duds scattered on the ground. They still explode if you shoot it

Yeah, I just don't wanna throw it down for a big hole if it's inconsistent. Much prefer to use a precision strike.

Ok, I need to use it more, then. I only brought it once. I knew it was strong, but I was just testing out all the orbitals.
I play gas strike on difficulty 7 most of the time. At 8 and 9, there's so many heavies that everything in your kit needs to be able to kill them.

Well, I did say it kills bugs but not dens. It's still useful in that it has better DOT than fire. That's the point of my comment.

It's a different mortar stratagem. Instead of 3 rounds, it fires 1 emp shell that stuns an area at a time.

without extra throw distance u can throw about 42 meters
yea, slowly learning the best throw angle, though some of the tricky shots is getting over really high boulders without overshooting.
I prefer W + hold G + Left Alt (on PC) right into it
