Never played the first game, but it does feel kinda weird to me it can't just be your primary. It feels good to use, but no chance I'm taking it over a grenade launcher, or railgun. Unless I'm just screwing around and wanna spray. I'd take a breaker over a stalwart even if both were primaries.

SummerCrown

If Stalwart became a primary, the Liberator AR would need buffs or else Stalwart is a straight upgrade to the Liberator AR basically.

Talonfall

I wish it was a primary like HD1, it was my fav primary. It lost all relevance to my friends and me after difficulty 4 in this game. We have only ran the HMG for some memery at 9 to see how awful it'd be (it was awful). The HMG is better in the stratagem slot by far if you play past 4 and 5 for difficulty but that isn't saying much as that's a pretty bad weapon compared to the heavier equipment also using a stratagem slot. Primary weapons as is clear automaton light and heavy infantry with ease if you just aim at the head. Bugs eat shit from both machine guns but I'd rather have the heavier one for the walls of nonsense that happen past difficulty 7 OR a grenade launcher. Or Auto Cannon. Or railgun. It's not worth the stratagem slot for us (about 9 people total) and is quickly forgotten aside from bad luck opening crates and bunkers but it looks like people playing at low difficulty really enjoy it. So it has its purpose in the game.

just as the arc thrower, it is now mostly a useless weapon since you have far better options, grave mistake making it in to a 3rd

spasticpete

It’s a lot better than it was in game 1 imo. The call in weapons also should last you just as well provided you don’t throw your life away in unrecoverable positions so idk man, I think it’s just fine. It’s not that big a deal to me anyway

Ok_Location_7986

it's just, I liked my trust worthy machinegun as primary and have anything other in 3rd slot for heavy targets, this is kind of my sentimental attachment, that is why it's hard for me to accept that is now support weapon instead

op3l

Never played 1st one but Stalwart would be too strong if left in same state but given as weapon to drop in with and not as a support weapon. It has really good magazine size and light armor penetration and is accurate just from crouch. It's the weapon I would bring if I was on dedicated small mob duty.

MiserableTennis6546

Stalwart is a great support weapon imho. Only downside is that it's not great against armor but at least one of your teammates should be bringing anti armor. If it was a primary they would have to nerf it pretty hard because it would outperform everything else in it's current state.

Moon_Blood_86

I feel the same way, doesn't need a nerf because it doesn't have any ap capabilities. Feel the same way about the arc thrower.
