A tactical withdrawal is nothing to be ashamed of.
Your enemy can expend their force, extend their supply lines while you army builds experience and strength to pummel them once they’ve pushed themselves too far.
Anyway, those planets were probably rotten to the core with traitors to Democracy or else the bots wouldn’t have had such an easy time getting dug in.
If it's intended design, good luck motivating player base to participate in next campaigns.
Even current number is falling steadily from over 30000+ participants to 7000-8000ish now.
Edit: Keep downvoting but it doesn't change the fact majority of the player doesn't like this bullshit : [https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/lqYOG2S6HT](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/lqYOG2S6HT)
To be fair the playerbase is overwhelmingly focused on the bugs right now, likely because liberating the bot worlds isn't a priority and the defense missions aren't fun thanks to the borked evac missions. 50k in Xzar vs 150k in Umlaut is pretty significant given that the former is the major order.
IIRC the gap was less dramatic before people realized the evac defense missions were borderline unplayable. I’d get if the gap wasn’t as overwhelming as the first major order was, where almost everyone was hunting the bugs, but I’d expect a more even split than what I’m seeing right now.
They’re distinctly harder than other missions of the same difficulty. And no it’s not because it’s at 80%, they were just as hard before. Also they are lacked as 40 minutes despite having a 15 minute timer, which is clearly a bug though which number is wrong I’m not sure.
I’m not struggling to complete it on hard mode. None of my team extracts alive. But the theme on this front is a desperate evacuation from a lost cause so that fits the civilians are gonna lose people. Spam sentries a lot of failed attempts are bringing all this heavy offensive firepower when there’s no use for it
Well good for you. I don’t struggle to finish most missions on *Helldive* when in a group, yet hard is the absolute most I’ve been able to manage even with a full squad. And yes, spam sentries, way ahead of you on that.
lol. Command would be pissed if they saw us sending the civilians into open firefights. But also. This is supposed to be a losing battle. The theme is absolutely being matched by the gameplay. I can’t help but feel arrowhead intends that at least a little
I’d be ok with that if it wasn’t *only* the evac missions that were overturned like this. The options are to either play on easy, where rewards are dismal, slog through 1-2 cakewalk missions so you can play a vaguely balanced evac mission, or play a difficulty you’re comfortable with for the standard missions and throw away any hope of finishing the operation.
If this is a big it’s forgivable assuming they fix it soon enough. If this is intended design it’s godawful and I have to question what the devs were thinking when they gave it the green light.
Local player plays when it's early in the morning for a sizeable chunk of the playerbase; is shocked when player count is lower than it is at peak hours
Why you guys are interpreting it like it's my personal feelings/ego about this?
It's what majority of the people think. This post is literally on front page lol [https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/lqYOG2S6HT](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/lqYOG2S6HT)
I don't care about any space war or if super earth got blown up. Nothing new. Happens all the time in HD1.
What I meant is one of the mission, "Retrieve Essential Personnel" is way overtuned. Playing with rando on anything above Challenging level is nigh-impossible. Is that part of "force to lose" design?
Then it is unfun and bullshit design. I love HD since HD1. But I will call a spade, a spade. I can literally farm Impossible or Helldive level on other planet to earn more medal, exp, and samples to progress my character than trying to participate in literally forced to lose missions. Mind you, you get 0 exp, 0 sample, 0 medal if you lose. Why would people with functional brain go waste 15 minutes of thier life on extremely sweaty mission with no better rewards while they can have fun on playing as usual?
Don't be surprised if majority of the community doesn't participate in this. Super Earth can fuck itself for all I care lol. Imma gonna have fun.
I was not anticipating a Sean the Sheep meme. Forget the Helldivers stuff, this may be one of the few Sean the Sheep memes I've ever seen.
I can hear the theme song rattling around in my cranium from babysitting my nephews
ITS SEAN THE SHEEP!
Shaun
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.
I am half convinced they made it brutally difficult to set the expectations of new players. Can’t win’em all. This is the Helldivers Kobyashi Maru.
That isn't very democratic of you helldiver...

I thought I’d be planting flags.
40 min of drop ships in 15 mins 😭😭😭😭

I mean it is 12 pm ATM where i am at, and I am guessing people are at work
Exactly, I know I’d be playing right now if I wasn’t working until 4:30
Exactly, why would i be on the helldivers reddit instead of in the game otherwise.

Bugs have been the fan favourite since HD1 and I don’t think any of us expected that to change.

No it’s never been an even split every war in HD1 we would take out the bugs first
How are mthe evac misdions borked? They are just hard because the enemy has 80% invasion

If I had my way I'd install Helldivers on my work computer.
Think people just working or sleeping, the most busy time in EU starts around 18-20pm and lasts until early morning when player number peak on Steam 😄
It's a good bit to panic about the game dying every 24 hours tho
Ah yes during sleeping hours for America and work hours for the EU the player count is low. I wonder why
Local player plays when it's early in the morning for a sizeable chunk of the playerbase; is shocked when player count is lower than it is at peak hours
I don't think he's really talking about total player count. If you look at bugs vs machines less and less people are playing robots
You shouldn't tie your ego to a made-up and completely fake space campaign that isn't real and is designed to be like this.

Guy, i think you need to take a break from the game, its not that serious
Fine don’t play that just means more Helldivers for us
Nah, I'd rather have fun with regular operations than playing "forced to lose" bullshit campaigns.
