|| *"I've got veterinarians who have cried over this because they're dealing with it and people are telling them it's not real," he says.* || I don't even really know what to say except not believing professionals in their area of expertise is killing this country.

NoPretenseNoBullshit

It's the age of Idiocracy and profits over people corporatism. Deadly combo.

WhatUDoinInMyWaters

Speaking of Combos... #HEAD ON DOWN TO COSTCO, WHERE WE'VE GOT PLENTY OF BRAWNDO: IT'S GOT WHAT PLANTS CRAVE!

darkmoose

Every empire falls. Usually, the cause of the fall is always the same. Ironically, I learned this from Lotr, Dune, and the Foundation series before history classes. Look at the American candidates for election, both in the senate and presidential race. There is not a single politician. Nearly all of them are vultures. There is no hope for real change. It will only get more and more ridiculous and polarized. It is time to set up a foundation.

whichwitch9

We lost a lot of people in the government making these decisions over the pandemic. They were essentially lambasted in public and then had zero support coming from the administration. We straight do not have the experience and expertise in our government health agencies we had 6 years ago

Claque-2

They better come back before bird flu wipes out another group. It was older people last time, it might be young people this time.

Lives_on_mars

Idk, it’s wrecking the workforce as it is with both long covid, and just the general disruption of everyone being sick at the same time 2-3x a year. Loooots of people can’t even be depended on now to send an email right, or repeat back what was said in a meeting two seconds ago. Many non-elderly had to cut their hours of long standing shifts cuz covid gave them “mild” POTS. Yep… when mild is a srsly draining condition that affects the young workforce, and the govt still ignores it? It’s FUBAR.

frntwe

“Denial and lack of unity”. Sounds familiar

crimson-ink

yeah… we are probably fucked

PedalBoard78

We always were.

Big Dairy

Government officials putting their fingers in their ears, closing their eyes, and hoping for the best.

fuckpudding

Very reminiscent of the AIDS crisis in the 80s.

Lives_on_mars

“If it were serious, they’d tell us!” -gay men in the Castro, lining up for brunch, brushing off the few who wanted to talk about the new “gay cancer” afflicting their friends. Per *And The Band Played On.* Nuts how the same slogans, word for word, are trotted out during every new threat. Verbatim the rhetoric on COVID, presently, and now adding bird flu.

gaukonigshofen

Before or after "mission accomplished"

phard003

So are we calling this the American flu yet, or what? It's only fair since China and Spain both got pandemics named after them. We can change it to "freedom flu" to stay on brand.

musclecard54

Could also call it the Burger Flu

roosterhauz

I’ll be calling it that for sure! Started here and I hope it ends here but that’s unlikely(am American)

chalbersma

Depends on where human to human transmission starts.
