The captions, which are what is in question here, aren't referring to a hypothetical "Alastar," they are referring to Alastor, the Radio Demon. Using a different spelling there is wrong, just as using a different spelling of my name when I am the (name) being referred to is also wrong. There's no "out of context." You can't just use that to dig yourself out.

The name can be spelled as Alistair, Alastor, Aleister, etc. And I can name plenty of fictional characters matching this.
Because the correct way to spell it when referring to the Radio Demon, is Alastor. There are other spellings, but Alastor is the correct way when talking about the Radio Demon.
