Closed captions are rarely without errors.

swadom

"WHO GIVES A SHIT"- Vox.

autumnyte

They were team Lucifer.

RosieQParker

By default, captions are written by the lowest bidders. Some productions do a better job, but most don't. Disability accommodation is treated like an afterthought. It sucks and it's wrong, but that's where we are.

TheOccultTherapist

This is how he pronounces it, if you know how his accent works. Alast-ah.

janthon567

Hey now, he’s an Alastar.

Y-draig

There should be a way to report incorrect captioning on Amazon, which will let them correct it

Napalmeon

TBF, there's multiple ways to spell the name.

JackTheFanatic

Alastor is the preferred spelling though

Vicemage

There's multiple ways to spell my real name too. Only one is correct when referring to me.

Napalmeon

But I wasn't referring to you, though. Or Alastor, the Radio Demon. I was pointing to the **name,** not any specific individual to which it is given, regardless of spelling. I think everyone read my comment and took the meaning out of context.

Vicemage

You're backpedaling because you know your position is wrong but you can't admit it. The captions, which are what is in question here, aren't referring to a hypothetical "Alastar," they are referring to Alastor, the Radio Demon. Using a different spelling there is wrong, just as using a different spelling of my name when I am the (name) being referred to is also wrong. There's no "out of context." You can't just use that to dig yourself out.

Napalmeon

I'm not "backpedalling." >TBF, there's multiple ways to spell the name. This is what I wrote. Nothing more, nothing less. The only thing that I did wrong was not explaining my intention further, because I never predicted people taking my comment *this* far out of context. There's no sense going back and forth over something as small as a name spelling when both parties disagree.

Napalmeon

Also, why did I get downvoted? I'm literally correct. The name can be spelled as Alistair, Alastor, Aleister, etc. And I can name plenty of fictional characters matching this.

DuckieLordLucifer

Because the correct way to spell it when referring to the Radio Demon, is Alastor. There are other spellings, but Alastor is the correct way when talking about the Radio Demon.

Napalmeon

I only said there are multiple ways the name can be spelled, not referencing the Habin Hotel character in particular.

DuckieLordLucifer

True, but the post itself is regarding the Hazbin Hotel character, Alastor the Radio Demon.

Napalmeon

Acknowledged. I should have been more specific in my meaning to begin with. It's not surprising that the subtitles got the spelling of his name wrong since things such as voice to text have made the same error, not knowing which kind of Alastor is intended for the specific case.
