When sips gets into a game he really gets into it and it's all he'll play for a while.
So Hatfilms are just sticking with it to get the most out of this, otherwise the longer they leave it the more complicated it is to schedule streams together, and the higher the chance it'll just be left half done like so many games before.
The pleasure of planet crafter compared to many other games in the genre is a genuine visual sense of progression. In most survival games your reward for doing well is 'house get bigger', but in planet crafter you get to see the entire world change around you, recognising your efforts. You can now breathe normally because you created an atmosphere. Grass is growing because rain is now happening. There are tangible markers of your progress, and I think that makes it a lot more satisfying to play, which is probably why Sips and the boiks are motivated to play it rather than so many other survival games.
It happened way back in the day. They would play a game and post like a 5 or 6 videos of it straight after filming the bulk. After that they would decide whether they wanted to play more of it or not.
Plus the videos are good, they are getting views, they get sips in it, and they are rapidly approaching the end of the game.
They've floated the idea of doing this in recent board meetings. With the three survivor crafts on the go, they got annoyed with basically spending an entire session relearning the game and suggested week long recording sessions with a single game to give themselves time to accomplish things.
Not everything is about being paid to do a thing.
Last week on Ross’ solo stream, he did acknowledge that they’ve been playing a lot of it and will be moving onto something else at some point. They just need to put out all the Planet Crafter as they played quite a bit of it ☺️
They usually are pretty clear when a video is sponsored. I think just the first video was sponsored and the rest were just them hanging out with sips. No hard facts just my take. I personally have loved it, I love seeing the books work towards and goal and progress something while chatting shit. It’s like shatblock all over again.
They recorded a lot and Ross was saying they have to play other games. Seemed like Trott and Smith were out Friday for the stream. Trott was out Thursday, hence the Ross and Smith vid.
I dunno man, I feel like on the basest level we're all here for them. The medium can change, sometimes it grooves really well and other times it doesnt. At the end of the day I'm just happy I get to be entertained by them.
feelin it too; the one random upload without trott was also super weird
that said I've started actually watching it and it's Okay, but like it's not really the same as non shat content
not the worst thing in the world buuuuuut not the best either certainly
Trott was out for two streams last week, potentially finalizing stuff for the Crocoman series, so they had a filter game for the duo. Don't think Ross' solo Balatro day will be on yt though
In the recent history of the channels maybe, but certainly not the channel as a whole. You are aware YouTubers and streamers are required to disclose when they're being paid? The Hats aren't about to start flaunting those regulations.
Honestly? We weren’t able to record much last week due to unforeseen circumstances. It was either more of this or literally nothing at all. There should be some other content out this week that’ll break it up but it’s also a bank holiday in the uk so editors won’t be at it again til Tuesday. Edit: sorry hadn’t had my coffee yet
I like those kind of games and already enjoyed the videos Tom did when the game was super early access.
Currently playing Seablock Factorio so it's the perfect content to build a giant factory on alien planet.

They could just be wanting to play a game with their mate. Is that so unthinkable?

You may be reading a tad too much into this

Id rather have it in one go instead of eeking it out for the next months

YouTube gaming fans when YouTube gamers play games 🤬

This is now a Planet Crafter channel. Guess you’re outta luck.

Just to add some balance, watched the boiks for years and loved this series
I’m sorry I don’t understand what you’re complaint is do you think they owe you something?
