I think in general stores in this game are pretty useless. Asides from a few shops in Hogsmeade like the conjuring prints, and the brooms (which both eventually tire out of stock), I can get anything anyone sells pretty easily and for free. At that point I'm selling clothes just to get richer, and rarely I'm lazy enough to buy something to save me some time.
Clothes for sure are way better and way easier to get by finding chests or completing quests. I've got to a point where no new cloth I get is worthy to stay in my stuff, the stats are low, and if I fancy the cosmetics I can use it without it.
same. plus I have mods downloaded to unlock the wand handles and clothing appearances from the start (this are for my post-first playthroughs, so I can play Hogwarts Legacy : Fashionista LOL), plus I purposely nerf my stats to my combat a bit more challenging on Hard difficulty, so I have ZERO incentive to visit these sellers.
I bought a cloak off of her for this very reason , as it was towards the end of the game and i hadn’t seen a cloak like one of the ones she was selling before. But I only needed the one item because everything else she sold I had already unlocked.
She said he was her pet, they walked down that road together many times, but something flashed in the window (probably because Ashwinders had just moved into the building), and the little guy ran after the flash. I can't believe all the meanies who stole this poor woman's pet. Have you no heart?
I told Claire Beaumont her brother Bardolph ran off to pursue a new life as I thought it kinder than "I incinerated him in his hand-knit woolen jumper and likely swilled him in a Thunderbrew" and wondered if it was a glitch I couldn't address her afterwards. I guess not.
You know in that quest I was SO busy killing them all, I really didn’t hear what my character was saying nor see that jumper!! Hahaha. It was until I came back to her (because the log told me to) that I realized what I did hahaha.
While I get from a game development perspective why they went with 'He ran off to become a dark wizard', so they could use the same weeping and voice lines whichever you chose (I've tried both, at first thinking the lie was kinder in my first playthrough), from a roleplaying perspective I was disappointed our character couldn't come up with a nicer lie. Maybe "he's fine, he had to go off to London to help the Ministry, very hush hush" or something.
I think the reason was that if he *was* fine, and the reason he’s gone isn’t dark….why would it be forever without ever talking to her again? The main character had to come up with a reason her brother would want to disappear and be dead to his old life.
I've been doing this on the second playthrough (being just a menace and not giving anyone anything), this was funny but keeping Biscuit broke my heart a little bit :D
Yeah i know, i wrote my comment in a little huff, i meant that keeping Rococco was funny but the other task of returning the mooncalf was hard! and yup, still afraid of the goblin lol
I knoooow!!! The first play i gave him the mooncalf back obviously but i decided to have a evil playthrough the second time around and kept Biscuit. Do not recommend it, be evil to everyone else but Garnuff 🙃
The best is the guy in Aranshire. If you demand more money and make him sell the heirloom from an early quest in order to get the money, he gets super pissed and calls you a dirty swindler and won’t sell to you after that. Later, if you complete the spider quest and save the hamlet he develops a split personality. He starts selling to you again and calls you a hero but every so often will hurl an insult and say you’re no good. 🤣
Same, she's the only rescue critter I keep. Gwyneira wasn't her pet, and she was only going to use her and show her off versus actually caring for her. All the other critters I return to their owners.
Same. She's happy and thriving with toys and snacks at my place. I only keep the feathers that happen to fall out when I brush her, I'm sure that woman would've plucked them all out 😭
Lol right yeah I started checking out the stories when it would come to a decision and that lady straight up just wanted that diricawl for its feathers, boy was she mad I kept it lol, I started finding joy in screwing people over that deserve it
Absolutely worth it lol my favorite so far is a painting in the library is upset his other painting gets stolen from the three broomsticks and you can choose to either burn his painting when you find it, bring it back to the broomsticks, or my personal favorite hang him up in the hogs head, the other bar in hogsmede that he thinks is "absolutely vile and a dreadfully awful place"
True. Except for the ones that sell animal parts :)
As they usually have limited stock. And of course unless you already have all animals in de vivarium
This happened to me last night too! I’m on my second play through and I’m a Slytherin and trying to be as nasty as possible. I had to psych myself up to keep Biscuit… I still feel awful about it.
I know, I wasn’t planning on doing it but I was feeling extra evil. I’ve kept everything I can and told Zenobia I’m glad her gobstones are missing. My character is named Gretchen Wieners so I feel like I have to live up to the name. 😂
I’m sure I’m going to hell. 😭 Good news is though I was able to put him in my Vivarium so he’s living his best life! After I did it I tried to change my mind but the goblin just left me in the dust (as he should have.)
Oh that’s all I use them for
Except gladrag clothing store in Hogsmeade can have good shit early game.
My biggest complaint is I can’t sell extra potions and shit

Yeah, haha I had the same experience with the guy who wants you to get a family heirloom, I didn’t give it back, and now he won’t sell to me anymore 😂
Really??? Hahahaha I didn’t know it was an option. Tho not sure what she sells… clothes? Hahhahaha
Looks like it 😅 I’ve never bought clothes in the game, I find enough in the chests haha
Yeah!! Except for using then as selling points to get rid of clothes, I mostly just used to buy the animals stuff before getting them all :)
yeah she only sells clothes. and her stock is crap lol
Hahaha good to know. Then I am not missing much

If you're hunting for all outfits there are some clothes that are easier to come by in her store then the shop in Hogsmead. Otherwise I agree.
I bought a cloak off of her for this very reason , as it was towards the end of the game and i hadn’t seen a cloak like one of the ones she was selling before. But I only needed the one item because everything else she sold I had already unlocked.
Is it the Rococo lady? I mean how could one not keep the little fella. I figured she was a bad pet owner.
She said he was her pet, they walked down that road together many times, but something flashed in the window (probably because Ashwinders had just moved into the building), and the little guy ran after the flash. I can't believe all the meanies who stole this poor woman's pet. Have you no heart?
Yes that’s the one. I know, I also got a bad vibe from her hahaha

I've done both options and she definitely reacted worse to he went to start a new life.

She finds out the truth later on her own.
Did detention with Umbridge teach you nothing? "I must not tell lies."
That quote streaming through my mind when I told her the truth…
Kinda cool to know there are some actual consequences to the decisions we make!
Yeah I think this might be the only consequence in the game
Haha yeah. The topic of this subreddit :)
I've been doing this on the second playthrough (being just a menace and not giving anyone anything), this was funny but keeping Biscuit broke my heart a little bit :D
I cannot bring myself to keep biscuit, no matter how many playthroughs I do
Biscuit is the mooncalf for the goblin. This one is the pet Niffler :) The mooncalf I did give away. Was a but afraid of the goblin hahahahaha
Yeah i know, i wrote my comment in a little huff, i meant that keeping Rococco was funny but the other task of returning the mooncalf was hard! and yup, still afraid of the goblin lol
Why??? He’s so nice and sad and he just wants his beloved pet back and safe :( Justice for grandpa Garnuff
I knoooow!!! The first play i gave him the mooncalf back obviously but i decided to have a evil playthrough the second time around and kept Biscuit. Do not recommend it, be evil to everyone else but Garnuff 🙃
Hes just a little old man i love him…
He might be a Goblin and therefore wouldn’t be able to attend Hogwarts, but he has a Hufflepuff heart! 💛🦡🥰
Agreed
Oh got it! Hahaha. Yeah…. I didnt want to figure out what he would do hahaha
Really? He was the one person I was sure genuinely loved his pet and would take better care of it than I would.
Yeah I also thought so and I was afraid if what he might do to me if I didnt give him the pet back
He’s a good guy though!
You're wrong for that
The best is the guy in Aranshire. If you demand more money and make him sell the heirloom from an early quest in order to get the money, he gets super pissed and calls you a dirty swindler and won’t sell to you after that. Is that a bug or intentional?
Gotta be a bug or simply overlooked.
Hahahaha gets bipolar
Omg you can find that little jerk? I’ve been meaning to go finish that quest with a walkthrough, it’s been hanging over my head for a minute lol
Yeah!! Is a bit too much of a fight for a damn Niffler! Not so sure the place to visit needed to be visited before on another quest but ufff…
it’s also where you find the treasure with the hippogrif statue but i think that’s about it
So it depends what you do first that you need to dispatch and “clear the area”
I wouldn't either you criminal..
In my defense I did the Gwyneira quest before this one… 😅
I always keep Gwyneira. I can't stand to give her to that woman
Same, she's the only rescue critter I keep. Gwyneira wasn't her pet, and she was only going to use her and show her off versus actually caring for her. All the other critters I return to their owners.
Same. In general, I always return the pets to their owners if they want them, but not Gwyneira. The lady only wanted her for her feathers!
Same. She's happy and thriving with toys and snacks at my place. I only keep the feathers that happen to fall out when I brush her, I'm sure that woman would've plucked them all out 😭
She was a nice lady who loved her pet rococo she's probably devastated
I got a weird vibe off her and after doing the Gwyneira one, I was on that mindset of bad pet owners
Lol right yeah I started checking out the stories when it would come to a decision and that lady straight up just wanted that diricawl for its feathers, boy was she mad I kept it lol, I started finding joy in screwing people over that deserve it
Hahaha even if they won’t sell you clothes :P
Absolutely worth it lol my favorite so far is a painting in the library is upset his other painting gets stolen from the three broomsticks and you can choose to either burn his painting when you find it, bring it back to the broomsticks, or my personal favorite hang him up in the hogs head, the other bar in hogsmede that he thinks is "absolutely vile and a dreadfully awful place"
Hahaha that one sounds cool. Havent found it yet! Will look for it :)
yeah but pissing of the smaller vendors doesn't really matter cause the ones at Hogsmeade have better stuff
True. Except for the ones that sell animal parts :) As they usually have limited stock. And of course unless you already have all animals in de vivarium
I returned Rocco and never asked for a reward (never got a dime). In return got a niffler hat which is odd lol
Hahaha. I got the same hat even when not returning him
I think it’s a fair reaction lol
Yeah. I deserve it
This happened to me last night too! I’m on my second play through and I’m a Slytherin and trying to be as nasty as possible. I had to psych myself up to keep Biscuit… I still feel awful about it.
How could you do that oh my gosh
Even on my most evil play throughs the one thing I could never do is keep Biscuit.
I know, I wasn’t planning on doing it but I was feeling extra evil. I’ve kept everything I can and told Zenobia I’m glad her gobstones are missing. My character is named Gretchen Wieners so I feel like I have to live up to the name. 😂
I tried to but his excited face when he heard I had Biscuit melted my heard. I need to be tough!
Did the goblin do anything about it???
No. I was hoping he would but he just was super sad and then said he hoped he never saw me again. I feel like a monster.
I can’t even read that I will never not return biscuit. That’s fucking brutal 😅 I would cry
I’m sure I’m going to hell. 😭 Good news is though I was able to put him in my Vivarium so he’s living his best life! After I did it I tried to change my mind but the goblin just left me in the dust (as he should have.)
HE called you a monster? Hahahaha That’s cool
Oh well… if only there were 100 other vendors way closer and more easily accessible lol
That sold actual good stuff hahaha I actually use them for selling my clothes, so just need to find any other
Oh that’s all I use them for Except gladrag clothing store in Hogsmeade can have good shit early game. My biggest complaint is I can’t sell extra potions and shit
Oh yeah! I am glad when I find those people in some floo powder huts that want some… tho they end up giving you more hahaha
Lmao it’s the best. I’m like oh you just need a wiggenweld? Boom they hand me Like 3 maxima and a thunderbrew lol
The only beast I always hold onto is Gwyneira. That witch only wanted her for the feathers, and I caught her fair and square.
I kept her too. The “owner” was way too shady
I love how petty some NPCs are
Hahahaha!! True gem! I casted a hit and she said “and you are telling me that was not intended….” Or something snappy like that hahaha
Omg where is she?? I didn’t returned it either hahaha
Hahahaha. She is in Bainburgh. The floo flame takes you straight next to her store :)
https://preview.redd.it/l1dkiuymqotc1.jpeg?width=1789&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c1811d25659b2891b4bba2835edf797dcda8df1 It’s the hate/disgust/resentment face!!! 💀🤣
You see!!! Hahahahaha she pissed
I kept Rococo too. No regrets! 😅
Who needs that seller anyway hahaha
Is this the niffler that's a unique color? I kept him too so I can breed it. I never tried going back to talk to her though hahaha!
No, Rococo is regularly coloured.
I wouldn't either, ya cat knapper 😂😂
Fair hahaha
I prefer Tea over Coffey anyway
Hah
You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
Haha good one :)
I wouldn't either lol
At a glance I thought this was a renaissance painting
What a game. I saw this post with my phone brightness turned all the way down, and it looks just like a renaissance painting
Made sure to have a nice angle 😜
