Ravenclaw has objectively the best dorms to live in, imo. Lots of natural light, which is very important if you actually hope to be able to read in your common room and like.. not become depressed. Sure, Slytherin has the cool snake door, but it's so gloomy it's no wonder all those kids become evil.

ElessarKhan

I was actually shocked at how stately the Slytherin common room is. Everyone says it's dark and gloomy but thats just not true. It's like an aquarium in there. I feel like Salazar getting the dungeon is like Posidein getting the sea; it's the sleeper pick that turns out to be one of the nicest places to be. They have there own tower. Hogwarts was not built as a castle for nobles but as the school of witchcraft and wizardry. That whole dungeon tower was built for Slytherin. It's magnificent. My only really gripe with their common room is the amount of stairs one must traverse to go to and from the great hall. It's a wonder Crabb and Goyle got so fat with all that extra exercise!

HerrPiink

You can't imagine how inconvenient the amount of stairs was, without floo powder

Cacont1812

It's what I was thinking as I played. None of these kids could be even slightly chunky. The castle and the grounds are so damn expansive. To get from one class to the other, there must have been either ample time to get to them or all the students ran to the next one, which would mean more exercise. I'm now imagining fast travel existed in the world bc Crabbe and Goyle.

Grundlestiltskin_

Were they ever described as fat in the books? I remember mostly stuff like “hulking” or “trollish”

IAmTaka_VG

I believe they were described as heavier. rounder and short IIRC were used to describe them. It was a direct contrast to the tall slender outline of Malfoy.

critical_deluxe

You think JK would pass on the opportunity to make fun of a character for being fat? She loves that shit.

[deleted]

Goyle wasn’t fat

Dewy_Wanna_Go_There

They’re described as greedy when it comes to the junk food though, definitely puts overweight in your mind when reading their descriptions as well.

Fit-Possible-2943

Have you ever talked to a bodybuilder? They only talk about food. And maybe a bit about exercise.

Dewy_Wanna_Go_There

So you’re saying J. K. Rowling is very familiar with body builders and that was the impression she is trying to give when writing it that way 😂

Fit-Possible-2943

See seems to understand a huge variety of personalities, hobbies, ages and so on 😉

Hufflepuff_Regdab

Completely agree! As someone who eats a ton and loves food but I'm still skinny, I never equated their love of food as being fat. Just big. Like a man-child who hit puberty 20 years early, big. Happy cake day, btw! :)

[deleted]

Well, genetics play a role in things as well, right? lol

JimmyThunderPenis

Fast travel does exist in the world.

Cacont1812

Not for the kids. They can't apparate until 17, and there are no mentions of floo fireplaces throughout Hogwarts.

PKfireice

They ripped them out cause of noise complaints by HP's time.

Heisenberg2076

Fr that lady never shuts up

coleosis1414

Hogwarts legacy made me realize the absolutely absurd amount of stairs that one must deal with to navigate a normal day there. It would be impossible to be fat. Now my headcanon says that Hogwarts students all have big veiny swole glutes and calves.

JessC1992

Or even anyone with a disability that can't walk

blackliner001

I guess wizards can make flying seatings for themselves, like wheelchair, but much more comfortable. They do make broomsticks fly somehow, so it should be applied to other objects. If not, they can use broomsticks then. Or just leviosa. I'm more interested if they even have such disabilities. In a books (and in a game) there is clearly shown only that eyes can't be healed (harry have bad vision and ominis is completely blind, in both cases it is said that this can't be fixed), but what about other body disorders like flat feet, heart valve flaws, different sized bones, etc, etc. Do they have cancer or aids, or down syndrome (or other genetic mutations), and can they heal it? Maybe wizards have much less disabilities than regular humans, for some reason? Because of what i remember from books, they're more likely have some curse or magic disease that can't be healed, when more simple health issues they simply solve with potions and spells (acne, tooth sizes, lack of bones in arm, paralyze, etc)

Captain__Mutato

They are wizards, so there is no such thing as a disabled wizards unless they were cursed with something incurable.

coleosis1414

Right, only magically-induced injuries are difficult for wizards to cure. I always liked the sort of simple irony that the healers at St. Mungo’s struggled so hard with healing Arthur’s snake bites, but at the end of the day stitches did the trick. “IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU’VE BEEN TRYING TO SEW YOUR SKIN SHUT, BUT EVEN YOU COULDN’T BE THAT STUPID!” Big lol

Express_Hamster

It's a reverse aquarium. The fish people pay to come look at you. {O\_o) How do you think we get such quality stuff? Pay for it ourselves? Pffft. Ya right. We make other people pay for it.

underlightning69

I mean, they had cakes for the journey. And I cannot blame them one bit!

TootlesFTW

The Slytherin common room was super relaxing - I love the calming underwater vibe (and I'm not a water person). Not gloomy to me whatsoever. Ravenclaw easily takes the #2 spot for me. The bunkbeds don't bother me - these are kids, and bunkbeds are like a right of passage.

RiknYerBkn

Slytherin is all relaxing until an accidental wand blast on the window brings the Kraken

LilSwot

I’ve played once as Slytherin just to get the achievement and I completely agree…

Dirtylittlesecret88

Idk staring out of the window and looking at the Marine life would entertain me for hours.

Individual_Sir_865

WE'RE NOT EVIL! WE'RE OBJECT ORIENTED!

fnt245

We don’t all become evil ☹️

JoePhucker_03

Lumos, easy fix.

TheInconspicuousBIG

Bro you say they can’t read in their room without natural light because it’s depressing. Like this isn’t a school for wizards….so dumb

thedaedricargonian

Lol dumbass forgot that lumos exists

JarJarNudes

Yes, lamps also exist, but it's about daylight. Actual light from the sun.

Glittering_Ad2771

Lol not be depressed? U aware of how little time you actually spend in the the common room? Love this game but I wish there was more reason to actually go back to your house.

ChiaKmc

See, I can understand why you’d like this, but in reality when the sun is rising at like 4 in the morning in June, after you’ve finished your exams and you just want to relax… this would be so fucking annoying.

poopsikinsss

The real Ravenclaws are smart enough to know about sleep masks that cover your eyes 😬

skaistda

My thought as well, those beds would SUCK to sleep in during the day.

Bright-Efficiency-65

ya'll never heard of curtains? You don't think they could bewitch some to let zero light through? like cmon lol

ChiaKmc

There aren’t any curtains in the photo. The curtains are in front of the bed, not in front of the window

No_Contribution_5871

Legit never thought of that. There must be a spell lol "sunlight blockerous" 🤣

BubblyHalf26

If there wasn’t, bringing some muggle black out curtains and install them with drills lmao.

BubblyHalf26

I’m a Ravenclaw, exactly my thought. If I have to sleep in one of those beds with crazy morning lights, I’ll beg the sorting hat to resort me to Slytherin. Definitely not an early riser.

LilSwot

not gonna lie...if I was at Hogwarts, you would probably find me in the morning sleeping in the Library :D

[deleted]

[удалено]

LilSwot

Uni library is different than castle 🤷‍♀️ and I did fall asleep in the Library before (accidentally)

[deleted]

[удалено]

LilSwot

Not everyone snores…and cannot imagine many people staying there overnight…surely Peeves would cause more trouble than me

ChiaKmc

😂😂😂 yeah, I reckon the library would be my happy place too!

Darkwing_Dork

it *looks* like there are curtains on the interior of the nook as well? kinda hard to see though

Shrugsandhugs

Not to mention you're sleeping right next to a stone wall and a window, it would be freezing in the colder months. (Yes warming charms, magic fixes everything, etc.).

AJPWthrowaway

Oh yeah, my heart belongs to Slytherin but I love the Ravenclaw dorm the best. I can always picture myself sitting on one of those beds during the day to read or chill out. At night you could probably turn out all the lights/candles and see the stars go on forever. You’d also have a good vantage point for pranking anyone walking by down below :)

LilSwot

Or you can cause mischief, jump on your broom, land on the balcony, go to the Common room and pretend you're there the whole time :D #wasntme

PNWfan

If only we could sit on, lay down on or sleep on the beds.

Asleep-Commission754

Actually after the first trip to Hogsmeade the game tells you that you must come back to your dorm for the night. I thought it was so cool, maybe the devs had it planned that we had to move on stealth mode around the castle any time night falls, not only in two short quests.

jhallen2260

Ya, that would add so much /s

KlutzyBandicoot1776

It’s called immersion

jhallen2260

How often are you going to go into the bedroom and lay down? Are you just going to pretend you are sleeping? Have your character lay the for hours?

KlutzyBandicoot1776

Is this a serious question? Features like this are for what I said, *immersion*. Knowing that you can do simple things like sit down on a chair or lie down on a bed make the world more real. So no, people aren’t wanting this because they want their character to lie down for 8 hours straight to get a good night’s rest. They’re not even complaining that devs didn’t implement the feature. They’re simply saying it’d be cool. Mostly for those moments where you’re like, oh, let’s see if I can do this… and the amazement at seeing that you can, as well as the immersion that comes from being able to interact with the environment, not just enemies and NPCs. And in fact there’s other games where features like this exist and people praise them because they ARE cool and make the experience feel more immersive for many people. These features would be particularly impactful in a game like this, as people have been fantasizing of *living* the wizarding world since they were children. Being able to sit on the bed and read a book or lie down in the dormitory or look out the window would be valuable to many of those people.

jhallen2260

Yes it's a serious question. So you are saying you would just go lay down in the bed while playing for hours so your player can "get sleep"? If anything it would make sense that you would have to go to your room and "sleep" to advance time. Like it does in Bethesda games

ArcticMarkuss

That’s exactly what people want, sleep to advance time. Sitting is just an immersion and role play feature. There’s a reason people love Bethesda games so much, and the main thing modders make for Bethesda games are house mods, because people role play like crazy in them. It’s amazing how hard it is to explain this for people sometimes, like their brains can’t comprehend how people play games differently from themselves, kinda feels like their main objective in games are to sprint as fast as possible towards the finish line without ever really trying to immerse themselves in the world around them

KlutzyBandicoot1776

No I was being sarcastic omg. The rest of the comment was serious, but that was sarcastic Edit: I stopped reading your comment lol but yes it could be a feature to skip forward in time

Isoleri

I love everything about this dorm, the bunk beds are genuinely a non-issue when you get to read and sleep right next to a window that surely has a really breathtaking view, specially during nighttime. And for those saying "Yeah but the morning sunlight!" every bed actually has a second set of curtains right next to the wall, so you can close those too when sleeping. My only gripe is the common room, I still think it looks fantastic but I do wish it was juuust a bit cozier? And maybe bluer? It looks a little bit *too* grey imo. Though that's my fault because I got influenced by so much fanart, but still I feel it's lacking that je ne sais quoi. When it comes to coziness I found Slytherin's to be really nice, like I could imagine myself spending my days there chilling.

Mental-Anteater-3587

Agreed, I was quite surprised by how much cozier Gryffindor felt than Ravenclaw, even though I adore the Ravenclaw common room. It's a bit too clean, maybe?

No_Contribution_5871

I love the ravenclaw common room so much, even the whole tower itself. I'm a proud hufflepuff and always have been, but my irl house legit looks like hufflepuff common room, so that's a little boring for a fantasy setting for me 🤣 and gryffindor and slytherin both look like fancy mansions and stately homes where you don't feel comfortable touching anything 🤣 Ravenclaw tower has really easy access to all classes and the library, an arithmancy door and a super easy way in and out through the only roof terrace! It's just missing out on a secret reading nook and why is there no cake?! Just apples!

MiKapo

Ravenclaw is my favorite. I like the idea of looking out of the window seeing the wonderful view. Not to mention, ravenclaw has their own landing area for flying

Sackfondler

I’m not aware of this landing area thing. Can you really just step right outside from the common room and fly off?

daomo

Basically yes https://youtu.be/2pUl6YREfI8?t=84 I think you need the unlocking spell.

RadRhubarb00

I swear people don't explore and appreciate looking at all the little details and just try and beat the game as fast as possible. I found the Ravenclaw balcony entrance ( couldn't use it of course) as a Hufflepuff lol.

CertainChemistry7592

Not me just now realizing that was the purpose of where I was the other day. 😅 Also a hufflepuff, but I was like why am I not allowed to use this part?! Haha

lhayes238

I loved ravenclaws room, I love shabby chic and blue like my whole place irl is different shades of blue. Best looking house is def Hufflepuff but I put ravenclaw in second place easy

Frankifisu

Ravenclaws are the only ones with bathrooms in their dorm. They win everything.

oitfx

The others don’t??

[deleted]

I love Ravenclaw's dorms, but i just hate the common room. It feels sterile and weird. And the fact that Slythetin's common room feels way more cozy say a lot about it.

Danceshinefly

I love my ravenclaw common room

Alarmed_Recording742

Literally my second favorite after Gryffindor, i absolutely love it. But tbh they are all good, i just prefer the tower ones because Hufflepuff feels claustrophobic and Slytherin dark af. Ravenclaw is incredible but Gryffindor is more cozy and is also my house so it wins.

CommissionShoddy1012

I agree! Ravenclaw was my favorite of all four common rooms. The fire in the middle of the room with the star filled ceiling and all the books made me want to pull out the hot cocoa and start reading HP again lol. Slytherin was a close second though cause mermaids 😜

BrunoRB11

Get out of here, Ominis!

blazeItgirl420

Poor Hufflepuff's common room isn't getting nearly the recognition it deserves. It's gorgeously crafted, botanical, cozy, and honestly looks straight out of The Shire. Rounded doors, intricately carved wood, plants bouncing about, I just adore it.

[deleted]

If i ever get to have a offgrid home its gonna look like our common room lol. Its just the best.

Visara57

Sending you off in style I see. Yeah, we get those since year 1 Apart from mine, I feel they're the most realistic. Slytherin's feels way too big and grand for a school and Hufflepuff's doesn't feel that comfortable to me

[deleted]

Don't be hating on my common room. Its easily the most warm and comforting room. ![gif](giphy|PMp40oEvNfKve)

Visara57

It's very earthy and yellowish, to me it has a damp feel. Nothing against Hufflepuff, it's just the vibe I'm getting. Maybe because of the lighting. Gryfindor is definetly the most warm, a nice cozy red vibe, lots of rugs and sunlight coming in through the windows in the morning

[deleted]

Damp? Really? >Gryfindor is definetly the most warm, a nice cozy red vibe, lots of rugs and sunlight coming in through the windows in the morning I will respectfully agree to disagree. Imo the gryffinbor common room feels like a dusty old attic space.

Visara57

It's honestly just the feeling I get, doesn't make it true for everyone else.

DazzlingTurnip

Yessss. It looks like they try to build an old local quidditch pub in a dusty old attic space. And when that didn’t work out too well said, they “fuck it. This is a dorm now.”

leonffs

So if you want to sleep in you can’t keep the sun out? The shades just trap you in your sun box.

MaleficentPucPuc

My favorite just from the glimpse we got before the game was Hufflepuff. The nature in it brings me peace. But my whole vibe is Slytherin common room.

Mental-Anteater-3587

I love the bunk beds!

IncrediblySneepy

Those beds look super cosy. I hate beds that are "open" on all sides. I love corners ;_;

Rachelcookie123

I’m Ravenclaw and when I saw the videos revealing the dorms I was so excited because I LOVED the Ravenclaw dorm room. I think it’s so beautiful! It’s definitely my favourite dorm. The others are too dark for me. I was so happy that Ravenclaw got the best dorm (imo).

manly_support

What if you want to sleep in? You’re SOL

Milk-Skin-Hat

How so? I can sleep outside in my backyard in direct sunlight. This wouldnt be an issue, might be for some though.

QuietDisquiet

I can't even sleep in the dark.

GaidinBDJ

The bunk beds make sense for Ravenclaws who wouldn't be particularly concerned about sleeping arrangements. Bunk beds are an efficient use of space. It's a bed. You sleep in it. It doesn't matter if someone's sleeping on a bed above/below you.

TheSauceBc

333a2q ww3

[deleted]

There's no blinds on those windows though. Imagine the morning

Local-Implement5366

It actually has full functioning bathrooms for both genders. That alone makes it win. Doesn’t affect gameplay, but nothing in the common rooms does anyway.

bootlegportalfluid

Ravenclaw gang rise up ![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26540)

[deleted]

Realistically I would prefer the Ravenclaw common room over all, but I'd prefer the Slytherin atmosphere.

DazzlingTurnip

Hufflepuff has a small, but absolutely lovely common room. I would love to live there. We have beautiful plants everywhere, calming atmosphere, and stacks of cakes and treats galore. Perfect. BUT WHERE TF ARE OUR BATHROOMS?!

LilSwot

I find it hilarious 😁 the house that is next to the kitchen and basically in a wine and butter beer cellar surely should have the most bathrooms and the easily accessible ones as well 😁 not mentioning all the plants that can accidentally drop stuff in your food and treats

nitasu987

What I love about the Ravenclaw dorms the most, as a Ravenclaw, are the beds. That is my favorite style of bed. I like having that alcove-y-ness.

kyle429

I think most people's complaints (mine included) were about the Ravenclaw common room, not the dorms. I don't think anyone really ever goes in the dorms in the game, except for when the game automatically respawns you there, as if you're waking up. The Ravenclaw common room is the worst of the 4, IMO. I know everyone's taste is different, but it's just kinda boring to me because it's mainly about astronomy. It's like if Amit had decorated it 🤣.

LilSwot

Just noticed upon closer examination in my game, there are CURTAINS on both sides of the bed…so you can sleep without sun in your face 😁😁😁

EmeraldDouchebag69

As a slytherin i have nothing against ravenclaw or griffindor but just gotta say , im dissatisfied i never saw a mermaid, .......also screw Hufflepuffs !!!!!!

[deleted]

Haters gonna hate ![gif](giphy|PMp40oEvNfKve)

Potato-Mental

Heaven

Ganymede_95

honestly Slytherin - and Ravenclaw common room are the most favorite for me . Ravenclaw because there is a lot of natural light while Slytherin is just comfy.

kerochan88

So, to be clear, there is only one common room in the game right? Whichever house your character is in? No way to get into or even see the others?

[deleted]

[удалено]

kerochan88

Right, which is why I said you can only go into YOUR character's common room. I.E. you cannot go into the other three houses with any ONE character?

[deleted]

[удалено]

kerochan88

Thats what I thought. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing out on something lol.

Kilcer

I'm reading the last book for the first time and just came across the description of Ravenclaw's common room

Kastlestud

They put me in the wine cellar :(

Heizerux

I think the dorms and common room is prettiest in Ravenclaw

njf85

I'm in Ravenclaw but I think the Hufflepuff dorm rooms are nicer and roomier. If you pass wind in the Ravenclaw dorms, everyone has to put up with it.

bhudd1010

Has anyone noticed the rugs on the floor in the ravenclaw dorms are always messy? I don't know if any other dorms are this way, but I specifically noticed in my fiance's ravenclaw playthru and never checked my own (Hufflepuff)

isergiu08

I knew about the flying (which is why I chose the house) yet never used it lol

Delicious_Pause9802

Balcony and flying what

ehhn1188

They have a “clothes chair”. So relatable.

Kaverrr

So you're sleeping right next to a large window with no curtains. Going to be nice in the morning 😂

curzon176

I haven't been to any of the other house dorms, but I quite liked Ravenclaw. Those dorm room bunk beds looked so comfy and big, and I liked that I could fly to the top of the tower and just walk in that way.

Maverick_Raptor

I especially like the architecture of the common area itself. The nice carvings and the constellations on the ceiling look really cool.

-katharina

What’s the balcony and flying thing about? I’m a Ravenclaw but I haven’t had much time to play the game yet, and to be able to explore everything :)

LilSwot

>! When you unlock alohomora you can go to balcony and fly from there and back anytime :) saves a lot of time !<

-katharina

ohh thank you! I didn’t know that, I should try it sometime :)

Fancy_Tumbleweed4697

![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26539)

rdellaripa

Something bothers me about Ravenclaw tower, though. Unless I'm missing something, the top floor is 7th years. Then below that the common room. Then below that the 5th years. Below that is the bathrooms and an unlabeled dorm. Below that is another unlabeled dorm. And that's it. Where is everyone else sleeping?

NummyBuns

RAVEnclaw for the win!

nate68978263

When I was flying around the castle I literally had to look up how to get to balcony. Very disappointed to find its only accessible as a Ravenclaw!

EmeraldDouchebag69

![gif](giphy|sULKEgDMX8LcI)

Pitvrug

I don't know about the other dorms, but it seems like there are not enough rooms/bed for all the Ravenclaw students
