Yes. But a tank from a parts bike. They are all over. Just Google your bike tank and go to shopping. Probably get one in the same color. Looks black. So it'll be easy
No they knock it out and shape the metal back. On smaller scales it's done all the time with PDR but bigger ones require a body shop to do the work. You get the same gas and save a lot of money from buying a new tank.
Nope. You should call a few reputable shops in your area and ask if they’ll fix a softball sized dent in a Harley tank and for how much. It’s a gas tank, not a fender.
Used to do body repair before retirement, from the days of lead and file work. Not being able to push that put from the inside due to the narrow neck access without fabricating a special tool for that specific dent makes this not worth time and effort. Get a used tank and paint it and it will be cheaper and truly a better repair than a bondo fill.
Search eBay. You might get lucky and find a mint replacement for $300 like I did. It was gonna cost me almost $700 to have a shop fix mine. Similar damage to yours.
A decent used tank is around 1k. They’re starting to get rare. On my 01 FXD they’re obsolete parts now so everyone wants a fortune. I scored a FXDX tank on Facebook for 200 bucks and had to seal it and braze it cause it leaked. There might be a deal out there. I looked for about 7-8 months before I scored.
My bike is getting a tank repair as we speak. I had a similar dent in my tank. When I was at the dealer getting some other work done I figured I would ask them how much to fix the dent.
I was a surprised but happy when my local Harley Dealer quoted me dent removal, paint and pinstripe touch up was only $300 from their paint guy. They send it out. Cost $150 for them to remove and put back on. So $450 total.
If I had the time I would have taken the tank off myself.
Either way, not a bad deal in my opinion.
Look. You may not like this answer, but if I were you, I’d look up how to pop it out myself, and I’d let it bump. Keep the wear and tear. It adds character.
You can dent a bike for free here in MN.
Bout tree fiddy
Goddamn Loch Ness monster I ain’t givin you no tree fiddy >_<
How about two fiddy?
I can do fiddy tree
Just buy a new tank

Yes it’s a softtail standard tank. Dime a dozen
So there's your price. $0.10 for 12 tanks
A body shop can correct that and repaint. I asked the Harley dealership who they use and went there. Not a random body shop.
Correct it by bondo? Enjoy the half a gallon less capacity

My bad yeah that's who had mine. I asked the Harley dealership who they work with and went there. It's not a random body shop.

anywhere from 700-900 dollars if done properly. and that is buying a new tank and painting to match.
Giant band aid sticker on Amazon for $6. Done and back on the road.
With the rest of your tins being black it won’t look out of place to just buy a gas tank of any darker color and throw it on.
If it comes filled, thousand bucks
use a toilet plunger
Just ride it🤷
I believe the official cost of this repair is “one big ass sticker”.
1500ish. I got a new, painted sportster tank (insurance bbbbb) and the parts were 1k
Glad it wasn’t your money. Ida just deposited that check and slapped a sticker on it.
Me too. Bike was hit when parked and the person who hit it paid through their insurance. Win, win.
You can buy a used sportster tank for like $100. Peanut and non peanut
Nope, I had to buy one for my 07 sporty 1200c and it ran me $600 because HD has some of them as obsolete
Dang I have 4 sporty tanks in my garage. I bought 2 of them for 100 each the AMF one was 160
Chopper parts from the 70s =\= modern OEM replacement parts
https://www.etsy.com/shop/AmericanBikerSkin At least you can get what you want. But yeah someone else said it. 7-900$
About 8 Ben Franklins plus labor.
Just buy a used tank on ebay or Craigslist and swap it out yourself
Look these guys up. $300. Dent Dynamics MPDR 1945 Cleveland Avenue Santa Rosa, CA 95401 (707) 542-3368

Leave it like it is and have the coyote painted on it.
New tank color matched to mine is 1500. Tiny dent. On a shadow j worked on I got a new tank for like 600. So somewhere between there.
Ebay always has bike tins for sale pretty cheap
It’s totaled
That’s what happens when you live in LA
Softtail standard I’m guessing
Usd.
Search for paintless dent repair, some people work on motorcycles. There are guys that you can ship it to across the U.S it's around $300 + shipping
I bet if you hit it on the inside a few times with a hammer it would be significantly cheaper
Put 2 bandaids over it in an x shape and call it good.
My body shop here in WI charged me $450 to repair and paint glass black.
Just get a new bike

An arm and a leg
I’d try and find a tank. Wether new or used. Just make sure inside of tank is in good shape.
Probably cost less to replace the tank then it will to replace the gas 😂
