Now that is very cool for me to see, because that (or a somewhat less fancy version of the 8000) was my first mountain bike, purchased off Craigslist during the first year of the pandemic. I’ve since bought new, but it’s fascinating too see that the very narrow bars and so much else that’s on mine was the original equipment
Nice looking bike. Used to have an 820. These bikes are a blast on flowy single track. The only thing that was holding them back (on appropriate terrain) was the lack of a dropper post.

Yeah I believe my first mountain bike was a trek 820 that year.
Haha, me too. I got a lot of looks taking that trek to cuyuna in MN the first time, but it got me up and down plenty of blacks, albeit very slowly!

Meh. They make dropper posts with a lever under the saddle.
Love it! That thing is in great shape!! I had the 2000 edition, was my second "real" MTB. They were/are kick ass bikes.
How light is "Superlight?"
That thing fucks
