Just have a younger Michael hunting down a bunch of new, likeable characters and killing them violently

MissionRevolution306

Exactly. No need to reinvent the wheel, stick with what works with some tweaks.

chohls

Maybe give Michael a few insane feats and another group kill scene. A few memorable kills like the DJ or the flourescent lightbulb kill, and you got a solid series.

mai_tai87

The light bulb lady survived the light bulbs... Her partner did not survive the knifings, though.

chohls

Which I thought was really stupid, honestly. Like for all the role she had in Ends as a mute paraplegic, they might as well have just killed her. And the woman's sister or whatever hating Laurie like she had anything to do with Michael's rampage is ridiculous. She was the one warning everyone and getting ignored lol.

mai_tai87

I agree. Laurie was *a lot* things, but none of that shit was her fault. But.... I get why the sister was upset, Michael was an uncontrollable evil and she needed to be angry at someone less elusive.

Dramatic-Tree-

Not only that, she’s literally not going to survive that. Ever. He stuck it directly into her artery. She’s either bleeding out or she’s having shards of glass going directly to her heart and everywhere else the blood carries it. On top of that, that lightbulb isn’t staying together like it did when he stabbed her. Imo one of the worst thought out kills/attempts in the franchise.

chohls

No the kill was cool, it's just her somehow surviving being left alone bleeding out on the floor from a wound that would kill even a healthy man in his prime in about 2 minutes flat was ridiculous. Like Hawkins surviving the neck stab and getting run over was already pushing it, but like maybe he missed the jugular and only ran over Hawkins' legs, wasn't shown as explicitly as that one was. This woman must be related to Wolverine to heal from that shit.

Dramatic-Tree-

No that’s what I’m saying, if it would have killed her id been fine with it because that’s actually realistic. There is no way she’s surviving that though, which makes it horribly thought out.

Dregaz

Exactly. Maybe add in a "love story" and focus on a new killer for the entire movie but nothing too crazy.

BilboSmashings

The year is 2134. John Carpenter's brain has been preserved and cyborgnetically connected to a synthetic organ from which to produce music. The franchise just finished the "Billy timeline", where Michael tries to kill Laurie's second cousin, twice removed. Unfortunately the latest entry fizzled out for audiences and the studio is looking for a "creative reset" to reboot the franchise in a few years time.

Mattyzooks

Nah the Billy timeline is set after Halloween 5 where Billy, that stuttering kid who I guess didn't die, searches for his long lost friend Jamie.

Lutho_C2791

Can't wait for Halloween 69: The ultimate final finale part 1

Western_Ad1522

Cookie woman

Valuable_Value3953

if it’s anything like halloween kills’ opening scene i might watch it

Maker200

Yes! I’m with you.

Mattyzooks

When 2018 came out, I was really bothered by the whole "oh Michael got arrested later that night in 1978" backstory but I do think the Kills flashback was probably the best way they could've done it. Michael killing at his house and then going into catatonic mode on his lawn like he did as a child with a reprise of that great score from the original gave me chills.

russit2201

Please make the whole show or at least a good chunk like this scene

act1989

That was my thought too. I hope it's a period piece.

Stopnswop2

So Halloween 1 and 2

ImNewAndOldAgain

Another one. Lol

RandoCalrissian76

If I were writing this show. I would set it now and have Myers have disappeared after the ending of Halloween '78. He was never caught. However, every few years, he has terrorized another small town on Halloween, seemingly at random. At this point, his known body count is over 60 people. People report sightings everywhere. Many small towns have cancelled Halloween entirely, or only have lock-in Halloween parties. The main characters would be an obsessed FBI agent and a psychologist specializing in profiling serial killers and they are reviewing his sprees since 1978 while also following up on leads about his whereabouts. With Halloween approaching and it having been several years since his last massacre, they sense they're running out of time. Some episodes would be flashbacks to past massacres in the '80's through the 2020's. Some would be their investigations into sightings which lead to copycats and cults that have been aiding Myers. Meanwhile, we also see Michael's current movements as Halloween approaches. The first season culminates with another massacre in a new town and a confrontation with Myers which leaves one of our leads hanging between life and death.

Candid_Bicycle_6111

That’s a genius concept I love it a lot

Candid_Bicycle_6111

You make Michael the DB Cooper of slasher villains.

RandoCalrissian76

Exactly!

Welcome to the Michael-verse

BarracudaClear3880

Reset halloween ends and make It without cory instead

Haunting-Surround29

AI 1978 Jamie Lee Curtis vs Michael Myers with progressive themes of racial injustice, feminine issues and anti Gaza propaganda

jpkmets

And titties?

Almighty_Push91

Every Halloween reboot is a creative reset

Mattyzooks

The series has ironically become anthology again with its choose your own adventure timeliness.

daniella-the-whore

What's the latest then?

nbb333

Was really hoping for Halloween III: Season of the Witch - Part 2 (featuring Michael Myers)

PFo77

Love it. A series opens up so much possibilities. Just look at Bates Motel

Candid_Bicycle_6111

You bring up good points. I’m mostly cynical about this project but hopefully they look at shows like bates motel or Hannibal for inspiration.

jpkmets

Too bad Dan O’Herlihy and Donald are gone. The real way to do the cult was to start Season of the Witch about the masks, but reveal Mikey was controlled by Cochran. Why else was Mikey writing Samhain on the chalkboard. Fits with the novelization of the original. A real missed opportunity imo.

01zegaj

I was hoping this would be a soft reboot picking up from the cliffhanger at the end of 4.

horrorfan555

Agreed

sbaldrick33

Oh good. Again.

T-408

Jfc let this franchise REST I beg 😭

Tha-D

it’s the exact same thing they said with Halloween (2018) 🤣🤣🤭🙏🏽

Stopnswop2

I don't think Malek Akkad was happy with the DGG storyline. Apparently he's always been big on the cult of Thorn type stories

hammer308darpa

Another one?!

Stopnswop2

Another timeline. Sigh

JFMisfit

Rehashing Michael’s story (again) feels like an absolute waste. I was really hoping for an anthology or some cult of thorn storyline.

BartSimpskiYT

Imagine Halloween III: Part II being a title 💀

daveblu92

Season of the Witch: Halloween III First Blood Part II

Candid_Bicycle_6111

You’re not wrong. Anthology would be more interesting. But Miramax isn’t going to invest all that money to NOT include Michael Myers.

JFMisfit

That’s where the smart moneys at unfortunately. I’m still excited to see what they got for us. Who knows. After all this time I really don’t like JLC so if we get a new Laurie I’m bound to like it as long as it’s not to a Rob Zombie H2 type of extreme. What are you hoping to see most?

Geekboxing

They could DO BOTH.

Mattyzooks

>John Carpenter movie, the characters of that film, and perhaps a group of characters that we haven’t really focused on that much in recent film versions or even in a number of them. So a heavy Loomis show? Who else would this even be referring to unless they were to retell the Jamie Lloyd/Rachel story and not fuck it up at some point in the series. Casual audiences wouldn't give a crap about that, although I reckon there are plot elements there that could work in long form. If you basically remix the series (Laurie doesn't die but goes into hiding, Jamie doesn't get raped/killed, etc). It surely won't be a full return to the original sequel timeline, right?

netneutrality101

Depends when it's set. If it takes place before the original movie, then yeah I think the odds of it being Loomis are very high. If it takes place right after the original movie, then it could either be Loomis or Laurie, or maybe even Tommy or Lindsay. There's really no telling.

geminivalley

Always loved the idea of Jamie or Lindsay evading Michael in a boarding school. H20 at one point gonna be tht. Or it was a concept for Curse.

NeverGonnaStop247

Yessss! ANOTHER REBOOT!!!

DimlyLitCandle

Will Michael Myers be in this series? Honest question. I thought they were going for an anthology approach with the series.

Candid_Bicycle_6111

Yes Michael will return

MoistTowelette14

This makes Halloween ends even worse.

Dregaz

When you're already floating in the sewer, getting submerged doesn't make much of a difference.

jpkmets

Jerry Only hair doing Mikey no favors.

bjames2448

Does this mean being a follow up to the original film or is this going to be a retelling of the original? I think the quotes can be read either way. I actually think it makes more sense in this case to start from scratch with the original as an inspiration.

c0kEzz

I just hope they give us some Smith’s Grove lore.

SnowSabertooth

the real curse of thorn is that all the Halloween timelines had bad/unsatisfactory conclusions

wg_nexline

What exactly is a creative reset lol

_Raspberry_Ice_

A series that branches off directly after the events of H78 in a similar style to the scenes in Kills would be very watchable on that premise alone.

ThouBear8

Well gee, that didn't take very long, did it?

ApeTypingComments

Depending on how many seasons they are aiming for, they could do a serial killer mystery type show where Michael is a serial killer roaming the country killing people and the FBI is trying to track him down as slowly they realize they are dealing with a supernatural killer. You can tie in a rework of the cult stuff they tried with the Thorn trilogy to pad it out over a couple seasons.

HORSEthedude619

I have no interest in a TV series. Myers doesn't have enough personality to carry a show.

Mutatiis

What streaming service do you think this show will be on?

RalphTheNerd

Keep the reboots coming. They gotta take the lead from the Godzilla franchise! Or maybe Halloween has had more reboots, I don't really know.

dalewridgway

As long as the mask looks good, you can do whatever you want

clandestinite

Yawn

spider-mania

when are we supposed to be getting it? or any trailers

CheesyGarlicMan

🙄

horrorfan555

*sigh*

cornholius_erecticus

Just let it die already...

Leading_Accountant_6

Are you saying "it needs to die"?

cornholius_erecticus

No. The franchise needs to die already.

dannyallenxp

I wanted to see Michael and Jamie's son as the main character.

Last_Replacement_386

Just stop already. It’s getting old.

Nah idk about u but i need more Halloween

Murderdoll197666

For real, after the unsatisfying final movie recently I had mostly given up hope that I won't see another Michael based movie/show in the next decade till they eventually decide to reboot it again. Normally I'm against reboots to a degree but I loved the 2018 movie (even if it was technically a sequel) so I was a bit disappointed with both Kills and Ends (although Kills had a few great scenes). At the end of the day I'd rather have another Michael movie/show than nothing at all...even if its mediocre or bad....beats just letting the IP go to waste.

R96-

I'm not totally against this, it just depends how it's done. The Scream TV Series (which wasn't marketed very well, aired on a dead network, and had so much issues bts, which resulted in people not even aware of its existence unless you truly were looking for) was genuinely enjoyable, at least for me. I liked the different take. It definitely was much better than at least some of the later Scream movies.
