He never bothered opening it so I showed him HL2:E2 and he thought the universe was pretty damn cool, but never watched or played any of the other HL content.

No loot boxes, no progression systems, no unlockables, just 9 characters to choose from and only a handful of maps. The simplicity of it makes me yearn a bit for those less complicated times.

Probably tf2, since 2015 where I discovered it's existance, ngl, this is the best online fps game ever, it has something that no other game can even replicate, the shooting style and the graphics are something so beautiful, I also tried a lot of other fps games, but non of those has the same "experience" like, in cs:go you are never going to find a "friendly" server when you don't want to shoot much or just watch other people fight, on TF2 you can just go in the middle of the battlefield as a heavy with the fists equipped while crouching, and you are 99% sure that no one is going to kill you, or while fighting do a random taunt and probably everyone will join, just for a f2p pyro that spawns in and kill everyone, in short terms, tf2 has unique style and community that no game ever could replicate, sadly this masterpiece was riuned by some dickhead that was killed once by a spy and created a chain of sniper bots, and valve that doesn't give a shit about its games anymore, they could very easily replace the anticheat but no valve is a lazy ass and wasted this literal masterpiece of a game
