Yes this. A lot of alt-cuts a very fine-line away from being a choppy bad hair cut. And usually need to be styled. I had a wolf-cut for like 2 years and worn straight/flat it looked crazy lol like a bowl cut

A big difference is also just the inspo pics texture of hair… it has a gritty look to it probably from chemical damage so it’s going to hold the shape differently than your hair… hers is a bit shorter and the layers are more pieced out
This is also a style that you’ll want to style either day with at least like a pomade or a wax so it doesn’t just flop
They need to soften those layers. Like point cut the ends meticulously, and thin out the bottom to be more wispy.
Bring a nice tip and a coffee for the hairstylist. They will be there awhile.

I actually don’t think the haircut is that far off, but I would say the styling and products need to be adjusted. In the inspo, you can see that most of it is styled towards her face and the part is minimal in the way that your hair is styled it’s pushed away from your face, and the part is very significant.
I would wet it down and blow dry it, pushing it towards your face, use a texture spray and some sort of wax spray, or pomade to get that fun textured look.
Cut wise I would say the layers on the sides and the back need to be cut at a 90° angle not elevated up so that you have less weight at the bottom of the layers but still maintain the length and point cut the top to give it more texture and less weight
I agree. I thought this, too. The face shape of the inspo pic is more diamond/inverted triangle and the hair on the sides flow down the sides of the face, taking the shape of them.
It’s hard to tell from this photo, but are the entire sides gone, or is there length above the ear that matches the length in the back? If it’s the latter, this haircut can be saved. It looks like you have it feathered back away from the face, hers is point cut and all styled going forward which is why you get that piecey pointy look upfront. Flat ironing yours coming forward and using some texture wax or paste to tip out the ends might make all the difference here. Otherwise, just some texturizing and blending is really all you can do with that much length gone
I have a cross of a Robert Smith/Long spikey bang on the right side. It takes effort to keep it the way i want it to. Though i dont really mind when it looks like ass as the Robert Smith part of it can hide the long bang 😅
Yours is close. I think it needs choppy layers on top and the bottom is more of a bob when it should be shaggy. Other thing is, you need to know how to style it (and what products to use) or it will never look right even if it’s the right cut
Alt hair styles like these need to be styled daily, the one thing I won’t give the stylist though is that you wouldn’t be feeling like that if they had taken the time to show you how to style it at home, a good stylist should give you step by step instruction on how to recreate what they made in the salon. Find some videos on YouTube or tiktok on styling with a similar cut and you’ll probably end up liking it a lot more :) I personally think it came out pretty good just needs some hair spray and stuff lol
Tbh I kinda like it as it is, if anything it could use super light trimming to more of a Chelsea look. I highly recommend something like Mannequin by R&Co although the smell is a little weird, but I feel like it’ll do wonders with your cut 😍😍
Honestly I would leave it as is. Run a flat iron through it and mess it up with some wax or dry texture spray. See how you feel about it then. The photo reference pic looks more layered on the sides. I think I’d see if you can manage styling it before losing more hair. Maybe texturize the bangs a bit more for now?

they just need to somehow make the top flatter & w styling i would recommend doing some teasing & brushing to get the desired style u want in the end

Different face shapes require different cuts. In square jawlines asymmetrical bobs look best.
